Ismail Khan Calls Jamiat Party's Congress, Election 'Fake'
[ToloNews] Mohammad Ismail Khan, a senior member of Jamaat-e-Islami
...The Islamic Society, founded in 1941 in Lahore by Maulana Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, aka The Great Apostosizer. The Jamaat opposed the independence of Bangladesh but has operated an independent branch there since 1975. It maintains close ties with international Mohammedan groups such as the Moslem Brotherhood. the Taliban, and al-Qaeda. The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. It is distinguished by its xenophobia, and its opposition to Westernization, capitalism, socialism, secularism, and liberalist social mores...
party and a former mujahedeen leader, on Monday said the party congress that was held last week was "fake" and that the leaders of Jamaat who attended the event thought it was aimed at building a consensus among political parties around peace.

The meeting was held by one faction of the Jamaat party, which is led by Ata Mohammad Noor.

Khan said that regarding the recent rift between Salauddin Rabani and Ata Mohammad Noor, he supports neither of them and he warned against division within the party.

"When we went to the meeting, during that meeting, its direction changed and they mentioned the party congress. I tried very hard to prevent this and told them that no standard has been met for a party congress," he said.

"We should make a logical decision for the upcoming The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
conference so that we hopefully mobilize Jamaat members’ views on major decision-making," Khan said.

The Jamaat-e-Islami faction led by Noor did not comment on the claims, but the mobilization council of the party said that they are working on a mechanism to overcome the rift.

"If they do not come together in a structured way, they should at least have some representatives so that one voice is heard from this big identity that has always fought for values," said Abdul Rahim, the head of the council.

Salahuddin Rabbani, the acting head of the rival Jamaat-e-Islami faction, has said that he will not allow Jamaat’s voice to be silenced in the upcoming Istanbul conference on Afghan peace.

"We will not allow the disgraceful experience of the Bonn conference to be imposed on our people once again and we should not stay calm about such a situation," Rabbani said.

The rift between Noor and Rabbani over the leadership of the party began eight months ago. In a controversial congress meeting of the party last week, Noor was elected head of the party.

Daesh Claims Responsibility for Several Recent Attacks
[ToloNews] ISIS-run online media have reported many attacks in Afghanistan and said the group claims responsibility for killing "over 30 military men and civilians" in the country.

One of the media outlets covered incidents from March 11 to March 17, in which time two explosions and two targeted button men attacks were reported.

The Afghan government does not reject ISIS's presence in the country but says these attacks are carried out under the "umbrella of the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
Two ISIS-run outlets reporting ISIS attacks occurring in other countries have mentioned ISIS attacks in Kabul and Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
Issue no. 277 of the ISIS-run outlet reported the death of an officer and an infiltrator, while in the 278th issue five suicide kabooms were mentioned in which "20 civilians and 13 security force members" were killed.

"These are ISIS activities, but they are supported by the Taliban and the Taliban is supported by Pakistain," said Ali Ahmad, head of the provincial council in Nangarhar.

These attacks have been carried out in Kabul and Nangarhar and the government has blamed the Taliban for them.

"We can say that many incidents have happened in a short time that has made our people upset and it is not acceptable for them," said Zabihullah Zmarai, a former member of the Nangarhar provincial council.

First Vice President Amrullah Saleh, citing a report during a meeting with security officials, said 81 mines were defused in Surobi district in Kabul, and he added that there were confessions of some arrested Taliban suspects, but he chose not to disclose their identity. The Taliban has rejected such accusations.

"The Taliban facilitates ISIS activities and provides people for ISIS," said Ahmad Zia Worsaji, a member of the media office of the first vice president.

But some politicians said that terrorist activities, including ISIS, are a threat to the country.

"It is a mystery for us too about why ISIS activities were covered and how they are linked with the Taliban," said Sayed Ishaq Gailani, member of the National Solidarity Movement of Afghanistan.

The Afghan government announced the defeat of ISIS in December 2019, but the group still claims responsibility for some attacks in Kabul and Nangarhar.

Taliban 3-Month RIV Plan Shared With US: Naeem
Not even so undefinitive as a hudna? The only purpose is to hobble America — it’s likes it’s written on last autumn’s leaves in invisible ink.
[ToloNews] The Taliban
...Arabic for students...
has confirmed that they have shared a 90-day reduction in violence (RIV) plan with the US, but said there has been no overall agreement on the plan so far.

Taliban front man Mohammad Naeem told TOLOnews that the reduction in violence will not mean a ceasefire, but it will result in a decrease in all operations by the group in Afghanistan.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in his letter to President Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money...
referred to this plan and has reiterated that it will stop the Taliban from announcing its so-called spring offensive.

But Taliban front man Mohammad Naeem said the plan was proposed by the Taliban in December and an agreement has not yet been reached.

"We proposed a draft in December, which involved all operations being reduced, but so far a final agreement has not been reached," Naeem said on Monday.

"All conditions will be applied in the upcoming 90 days. It will include a reduction in violence and avoiding big attacks on districts," university lecturer Faizullah Zaland said.

This comes as US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin paid an unannounced visit to Kabul on his first trip to Afghanistan as Pentagon chief during which he met with President Ashraf Ghani and voiced concern about the high level of violence in the country.

"It’s obvious that the level of violence remains pretty high in the country," Austin said, as quoted by the News Agency that Dare Not be Named. "We’d really like to see that violence come down and I think if it does come down, it can begin to set the conditions for, you know, some really fruitful diplomatic work."

"Both sides expressed their concerns about the high level of violence and reiterated that the only solution for Afghanistan is an enduring peace," presidential front man Dawa Khan Menapal said.

Austin said he visited Kabul to "listen and learn" to "inform (his) participation" in reviewing the future of the American force in the country.

Biden said last week in an ABC News interview that it will be "tough" for the US to meet a May 1st deadline to withdraw troops from Afghanistan. But Biden said that if the deadline--determined by the Trump administration and Taliban-- is extended it wouldn’t be by a "lot longer."

"He brought the message that the United States has made its final decision in this respect," international affairs analyst Wahid Faqiri said. "I think there won’t be more chance for Americans to remain in Afghanistan."

Based on the Doha agreement, the US has committed to withdrawing its forces from Afghanistan by May 1. However,
alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk...
sources have said applying this plan in the remaining 38 days will be difficult logistically. The Taliban has said that the US should abide by its commitment to this part of the agreement.

Turkey sends arms to Somalia in a sensitive election period
[Garowe] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
has sent a shipment of weapons and armored vehicles to Somalia during a season for foreign meddling in the country’s internal political affairs is wide open.

Sources privy to the ministry of defense told Garowe Online that a Ottoman Turkish cargo plane carrying armaments and military equipment intended to arm Gorgor forces
...there are now fifteen battalions of the Turkey trained, red bereted, Somali GorGor forces in need of proper equipment if they’re to fight Al Shabaab. No doubt the Haram'ad special police force Turkey’s been training also needs supplies, but that will be a different article when the time comes...
landed on Monday at Mogadishu Airport.

The opposition candidates and Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
president Said Deni were already furious and expressed their concern about these weapons coming from Turkey into the country in such a "sensitive election period."

They fear that the sophisticated weapons will be used by the Ottoman Turkish-trained special forces to control forthcoming elections in the long-chaotic country that were postponed due to political disagreements.

The outgoing Somali president Farmajo whose mandate ended on February 8 could use Gorgor for "rigging" the election and this has put Turkey’s growing engagement in the country under the spotlight.

Last month, several protesters were killed and some maimed in Mogadishu during a peaceful protest against the delayed election when Harama’ad police trained by Turkey opened live bullets on them.
Exactly how the Turks would have handled it, so clearly the training took.
The Ottoman Turkish-trained Somali troops are active in politics more than their role in the fight against al-Shabaab
...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
terrorists. The opposition Candidates condemned Farmajo’s attempts to use force for political gain.

In late 2017, Turkey has set up its biggest overseas military base reportedly cost $50m in the outskirts of the Somali capital, Mogadishu, increasing Ankara’s foothold in the nation. Camp TURKSOM has the capacity to train at least 1,500 soldiers at a time.

Speaking to BBC Somali service, President Deni warned security risks posed by Haram’ad and Gorgor soldiers who are considered to be loyal to the outgoing president after circling the airport, where he is staying.

Puntland president called on the international partners to play a role in addressing how Somali national army forces are controlled and who will be in charge of their commanding task since Farmajo's constitutional powers to rule the country is over.

Burhan Accuses Ethiopia of Violating Border Agreements
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Head of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council Abdel Fattah al-Burhan accused Æthiopia of violating border agreements concluded with his country.

Speaking to members of the Sudanese armed forces in Khartoum on Sunday, Burhan said the army has re-imposed security on the country's borders and will not retreat from their positions.

In earlier remarks, he affirmed that Sudan is ready to respond to the Æthiopian occupation of its al-Fashaqa area.

"No negotiations with Æthiopia would take place before Addis Ababa officially recognizes Sudanese illusory sovereignty over the al-Fashaqa area and demarcates the border," he said.

He also siad that the army is fully coordinating with peace partners to carry out tasks required during the current phase.

"We have also been working with the executive government to implement the reforms necessary to attain economic stability."

Buran highlighted the leadership’s efforts to "build a unified military institution that protects Sudan and its executive bodies."

He pointed to the "positive developments" taking place during the political transition and their contribution to "building national cohesion, reinforcing the armed forces and accomplishing peace requirements."

He also called for the swift formation of the Transitional Legislative Council and the Constitutional Court to achieve "freedom, peace and justice."

Libya Reunifies Official State News Agency 'LANA'
War Peace is Hell.
[LIBYAREVIEW] On Sunday, the Libyan Media Corporation, headed by Mohammed Baio, announced that it had reunified the western and eastern-based Libyan Arab News Agency (LANA).In a statement, the Corporation said the decision aims to end a seven year-split between the two official narratives, one representing the Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
-based Government of National Accord (GNA), and another representing the eastern-based Libyan Parliament.

The two conflicting narratives were very divisive
...politicians call things divisive when when the other side sez something they don't like. Their own statements are never divisive, they're principled...
, and contributed greatly to disrupting social cohesion.

It added that the decision also stipulated that a temporary management committee for the agency will be formed. This is until the formation of the agency’s full board of directors, as stipulated in its establishment law No. 17 issued in 1964.

Baio praised what he described as the, "spirit of patriotism showed by the agency’s administrations, officials, and workers, which reflects the positive climate prevailing in Libya after the formation of the new executive authority in the country."

Terrorism conviction of German rapper’s wife upheld by court
[IsraelTimes] A top federal appeals court has upheld the terrorism conviction of the wife of a German-born rapper who joined the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
terror group in Syria and likely died in an Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
, authorities say.

In a decision from March 9, the Federal Court of Justice upheld the conviction of the woman, Omaima A.,
...Omaima Abdi, who had quietly returned with her children to Germany by 2016, describing herself on LinkedIn as a translator and event coordinator. She was only busted when an Arab journalist looked through a smartphone she’d left behind in Syria and found 36 gigabytes of photos, chats, and documents from her life in the ISIS caliphate in Syria...
for membership in a terrorist organization as well as charges of failing to properly care for her children, weapons offenses and aiding in the enslavement of a Yazidi girl.

In its decision, the Karlsruhe-based court said it had found no legal errors were made by the Hamburg state court in its October conviction of the woman, who was 36 at the time. She was given a three-and-a-half-year prison sentence.

The Hamburg-born woman of Tunisian heritage, whose last name hasn’t been provided in line with German privacy laws, followed her first husband to Syria in 2015 and lived in the Islamic State stronghold of Raqqa with their three children, according to the court.

After her husband
... Nader Hadra, a hotshot in German Salafi circles...
was killed during fighting in 2015, she married his friend, German rapper Denis Cuspert,
... known to his ISIS friends as Abu Talha al-Almani, he was available for marriage because his previous wife, former FBI translator Daniela Green, who stupidly fell for that smooth talking specimen of love jihad before coming to her senses, finding prison in America better than staying in the caliphate with that man...
who went by the stage name Deso Dogg before giving up performing and joining IS himself.

The court found she used social media and email to promote life in the "caliphate" and encouraged other women from Germany to move to the territory that had been captured by the Islamic State. In addition to weapons training, she raised her children according to Islamic State ideology and subjected them to danger by keeping them in an area targeted by airstrikes, the court said.

She also took a 13-year-old Yazidi girl as her "slave" and used her to do housework.

Her second husband, Cuspert, who toured in the US in 2006, lent his voice to record anthems for the jihadists to use in recruiting videos they circulated online.

The US government designated him a "global terrorist" and the Pentagon initially said in 2015 that Cuspert was killed in an airstrike, but withdrew the claim the following year.

Border Patrol in Rio Grande Valley considering releasing illegal crossers into US without court date
[Fox News] Fox News has learned from a senior source with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) that a plan is under consideration for Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) to begin releasing illegal border crossers who claim asylum without issuing a Notice to Appear (NTA) - meaning they will depart custody without a court date.

Such a decision would be unprecedented if enacted and would place the responsibility of seeking an asylum hearing on the migrants through Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or legal assistance.

The source says the reasoning for the decision is that the situation has "become so dire that BP [Border Patrol] has no choice but to release people nearly immediately after apprehension because there is no space to hold people even to do necessary NTA paperwork."

The process of issuing each migrant an NTA can take hours per individual or family. This would not apply to unaccompanied minors.

The RGV, based in Texas, is ground zero for the surge in border crossings and is more than 700% overcapacity.

CBP announced it had encountered more than 100,000 migrants at the border in February, while numbers of child migrants in custody have also increased dramatically. The Biden administration has been moving to increase capacity of facilities to house migrants, and building a number of extra facilities — including looking at NASA sites and military bases.

On Friday, The Washington Post reported that the Biden administration is considering flying migrants to states near the Canadian border for processing.

US Supreme Court to weigh reinstating Boston Marathon bomber's death sentence
[AlAham] The Justice Department, before Trump left office, filed an appeal of a lower court’s decision ordering a new trial over the sentence Tsarnaev should receive for the death penalty
-eligible crimes for which he was convicted.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday agreed to hear the federal government’s bid to reinstate Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s
...the pretty, ethnic-Chechen college boy from Dagestan who, with the highly connected but self-radicalized older brother he subsequently ran over while fleeing police, used pressure cooker bombs to blow up the Boston Marathon in 2013. The mosque the brothers frequented, the Islamic Society of Boston, is a hotbed of jihadi sentiment and connections to so many different jihadi groups and individuals the mind boggles. It was founded by Clinton Friend and Al Qaeda financier Abdurahman Alamoudi as a Muslim Student Assn/Muslim Brotherhood project in 1981. According to Russian intelligence, whose warning about our lads President Barack Obama’s intelligence agencies ignored until afterward, the Tsarnaev boys had lots of jihadi-connected friends back in the Olde Countrie, too, but nobody seems to to have found a formal connection between them and any registered jihadi group ...

NIA charges 7 Khalistani operatives involved in smuggling heroin from Pakistan
[OneIndia] The National Investigation Agency has filed a chargesheet against 7 Khalistan
...Khalistan is the idea of an independent Sikh homeland in the Indian Punjab. The local troublemakers are financed by the Sikh diaspora — who love the idea of the folks they left behind murdering their neighbours before dying romantically for a hopeless idea — with training and additional funding from Pakistan’s ISI as yet another arrow in their quiver aimed at the Indian throat...

Man acquitted in Daniel Pearl’s killing moved to Pakistan safe house
[IsraelTimes] Police say Ahmad Saeed Omar Sheikh, who was on death row for 18 years before being acquitted of murdering the US journalist, transferred for safety reasons.

A Pak-British man who was on death row for 18 years before his acquittal in the 2002 beheading of American journalist Daniel Pearl was transferred Monday to a government safe house for security reasons, police said.

Ahmad Saeed Omar Sheikh
...also in our archives as Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh and Ahmed Omar Sheikh. He spent nearly two decades in various Pak government safe houses, protected from being either hanged or transferred to the U.S. for his not-minor role in Israeli-American Daniel Pearl’s heinous murder. He’d been a brilliant but violent lad, growing to be a violent and possibly brilliant man who hit all the jihadi hotspots at their peak: the London School of Economics, Bosnia during their little war, running Al Qaeda’s Afghan training camps, then jailed by India for kidnapping Western tourists in Kashmir for Pakistan’s ISI. He and two Harkat-ul-Mujahideen emirs were traded for the passengers and crew of a hijacked Indian Airlines plane in 1999, after which he wandered down to Karachi to hang with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s (KSM) gang. This may yet turn out to have been a fatal error...

Counter-Terrorism department amid tight security, a police brass hat Suhail Sukhera told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

Sheikh was moved to his home city of Lahore from the southern port city of Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
. Sukhera provided no further details and only said Sheikh was being kept at a well-guarded place.

Sheikh was acquitted by the Sindh High Court in April 2020 and since then Pearl’s family and Pakistain’s government have been fighting a legal battle to overturn the acquittal. Washington has also expressed its concern over the acquittal of Sheikh.

Sheikh has been in jug despite his acquittal under a special law allowing the government to detain people deemed a security risk.

The transfer comes more than a month after Pakistain’s Supreme Court ordered Sheikh moved to a safe house from a special jail cell for inmates sentenced to death.

Authorities say Sheikh will not be allowed to leave the safe house.
So it’s just like bring in a nicer prison. I can live with that.
Pearl disappeared on January 23, 2002, in Karachi where he was investigating links between Pak terrorist groups and Richard C. Reid, dubbed the "shoe bomber." Reid had attempted to blow up a flight from Gay Paree to Miami with explosives hidden in his shoes. Sheikh was convicted of helping lure Pearl to a meeting in Karachi, during which he was kidnapped.

Pearl’s body was discovered in a shallow grave soon after a video of his beheading was delivered to the US consulate in Karachi. The Pentagon in 2007 released a transcript in which Khalid Sheikh Mohammad
...Mastermind of the 9/11 attacks. He was captured in Faisalabad, Pakistain in 2002 and interned at Guantanamo...
, the alleged criminal mastermind of the 9/11 attacks on the United States, said he had killed Pearl.

Lebanon Crisis Escalates after Failure to Agree Government
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
's financial crisis intensified on Monday after Prime Minister-designate Saad al-Hariri publicly repudiated President Michel Aoun
...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
, saying the latter wanted to dictate cabinet membership and grant veto powers on policy to his political allies.
