NYC Christmas Concert Shooter Was Immigrant Shielded from Deportation Despite Extensive Criminal Record
[Breitbart] The shooter at a New York City, New York, Christmas concert was an immigrant to the United States from the Dominican Republic who avoided deportation despite an extensive criminal record, officials confirm.

Luis Manuel Vasquez-Gomez, a 52-year-old native of the Dominican Republic who lived in the Bronx, opened fire on December 13 at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine following an outdoor Christmas concert on the steps of the church.

Vasquez-Gomez was met within five minutes by New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers who pleaded with him to drop his gun, though he refused. NYPD officers shot Vasquez-Gomez, and he was rushed to a hospital where he died.

Vasquez-Gomez was wearing a Dominican Republic face mask and hat and, according to the New York Daily News, was carrying a manifesto where he justified the shooting "because of the way the United States treated the people of Latin America."

According to records, Vasquez-Gomez had a long criminal history dating back three decades. Vasquez-Gomez first arrived in the U.S. in 1976 as a legal immigrant. In 1989, Vasquez-Gomez pleaded guilty after cutting the hand of a man but avoided prison.

A year later, Vasquez-Gomez pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon and selling cocaine after being arrested for attempted murder. Police said Vasquez-Gomez had fired gunshots in the direction of a woman and coppers. Vasquez-Gomez was sentenced to three to nine years in prison.

In 1995, Vasquez-Gomez was ordered deported by a federal immigration judge after having served his prison sentence. Twice in 2007 and 2017, Vasquez-Gomez was allowed to stay in the U.S. after being granted a stay of removal and a removal waiver.

Vasquez-Gomez was last in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody in 2008 after he violated his parole in 2007. He was released from ICE custody that year.

#1

So he B ____, MOANED and GROANED (BMG) about how the USA was treating Latin America.
He came here over 40 years ago...and waited to use a Religious festival to apply his Mentally Ill political point.

SUMMARY:
After looking at a video and reading the NY-Daily . It appears this was Suicide by Cop

With that stated....

He went to great efforts to stay here illegally over 30 years.

He used the Justice system of a country that he claims, blames and despises to fight his Deportation. A deportation well earned due a laundry list of serious criminal activities.
But the Socialist-Democrats helped and fought to keep him here.

He used a Sanctuary City, a concept promoted by Socialists-Democrats. Thus using a political ideology historically notorious for mass murder in Latin America (Socialists) to assist in staying.

He did all this so he could stay in a country he HATES and DESPISES to make $$$$, and be safer than in his own country. Plus "BMG" something that would get his A$$ locked up or murdered in the Dominican Republic.

Did I miss something.... OH!! Yeah..
Better and Free Healthcare, a better social support and care system for the poor and more.

He is not just to blame.
The Liberals, Socialists and Democrats that fought so hard to keep him here 30 years after he should have been deported. ALL SHARE in this.

BTW: This being NYC with a BAN on Citizen self-defense firearms. He had 2 hand guns despite a serious and violent criminal record.

PROVING Banning Firearms only leaves Police and Criminals with firearms. An Police are usually 10 to 15 mins away.

Afghanistan
UNSC Extends Mandate of Team Monitoring Taliban-Related Sanctions
[ToloNews] The United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
Security Council extended for 12 months the mandate of the team monitoring sanctions against individuals and entities associated with the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
, emphasizing its serious concerns about ongoing violence in Afghanistan.

Unanimously adopting resolution 2557 (2020), the 15-member Council directed the Monitoring Team to gather information on instances of non-compliance with the measures, and to facilitate, upon request by Member States, capacity-building assistance, a statement by the UNSC said.

The Council welcomed recent efforts by the Government of Afghanistan and the Taliban in facilitating intra-Afghan negotiations and highlighted the importance of ensuring that the Monitoring Team receives the necessary administrative and substantive support to effectively fulfill its mandate in a safe and timely manner.

This comes as violence remains high in the country despite efforts for peace. On Friday, at least 15 non-combatants were killed in a kaboom in the central province of Ghazni.
Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Deborah Lyons briefed United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
Security Council that, "Regrettably, the unrelenting violence remains a serious obstacle to peace and a threat to the region. I will admit that we are still compiling this year’s data, but I would like to mention a few provisional statistics on the impact of the violence".

"In October and November, improvised bombs, IEDs, caused over 60 percent more civilian casualties than in the same period last year. In the third quarter of 2020, child casualties rose 25 percent over the previous three months, while attacks against schools in the same period increased four-fold. In the first 11 months of 2020, assassinations by anti-government elements rose by nearly 40 percent compared to the same period in 2019. It is no surprise then, that the Global Peace Index for 2020 ranked Afghanistan as the least peaceful country in the world for the second year in a row". She said.

Sudan sends more troops to Ethiopian border
[Al Ahram] Sudan has sent "significant military reinforcements" to the border with conflict-hit Æthiopia, state media said Saturday, days after the army said troops were ambushed there by Æthiopian forces.

Soldiers were deployed in the eastern al-Fashaqa border region, the site of sporadic festivities, where Æthiopian farmers cultivate fertile land on territory claimed by Sudan.

The area also borders Æthiopia's troubled Tigray region, where fighting broke out last month, causing over 50,000 Æthiopians fleeing the conflict to cross into Sudan in recent weeks.

"The Sudanese armed forces continued to advance on the front lines inside al-Fashaqa to recapture the stolen lands and take up positions on the international lines," Sudan's SUNA news agency said.

Sudan's army said troops were attacked on Tuesday evening in an "ambush by Æthiopian forces and militias inside Sudanese territories".

Sudanese media said four soldiers were killed and 27 maimed, although the army did not confirm the reports.

General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, who heads the armed forces and the Sovereign Council, Sudan's highest executive body, visited the area this week.

Nigeria: Boko Haram 'didn't kidnap' 344 boys
[DW] The governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari, told DW in an exclusive interview on Friday that "bandidos and not Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
kidnapped the schoolboys from the government science school, and they will soon be reunited with their families."

"All 344 schoolboys have been rescued, and no ransom was paid," Masari told DW shortly after security agencies picked up the boys.

Boko Haram had grabbed credit forlast Friday's abduction of the students from the all-boys Government Science Secondary School in the Katsina State village of Kankara.

Europe
German and Turkish police bust crime ring at call center
[DW] German and Ottoman Turkish police have busted a call center in the southwestern Ottoman Turkish city of Izmir over an apparent international crime ring, German newspaper Rheinische Post reported on Saturday.Suspects at the call center allegedly posed as coppers and phoned elderly people in Germany to try and dupe them into handing over money and jewelry.
"Your car warranty is due to expire.."
The suspects reportedly told senior citizens that their valuables weren't safe at their home or at the bank and that they would send police to collect them for safekeeping.

POLICE CONFISCATE MILLIONS
Citing police, the Rheinische Post reported that authorities had seized cash worth €1.7 million ($2 million) during the raids in early December, as well as 5 kilograms (11 pounds) of gold, 41 high-end cars and 87 properties including luxury homes and hotels totaling €105 million.

The newspaper said 38 people had been arrested earlier this month and 48 locations searched in addition to the call center, adding that the architects of the criminal operation had previously been expelled from Germany for criminal offenses.

"In this call center, there were members of families that lived in Germany before but were deported because of crimes," Thomas Jungbluth of the state criminal police in the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia told the Rheinische Post. "They resettled in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's satrapy in Asia Minor...
Wolfgang Herrmanns from the state criminal office told the paper that police have "drained the swamp."
Such an evocative image — does Herr Herrmanns know who used it before him?
"Since we raided the call center, there have been barely any such calls in Germany anymore," he said.

Hungary: ‘Europe's Borders Must be Protected‘
[Gatestone] "Hungary will only be a Hungarian country as long as its borders remain intact. Therefore, not only our thousand-year-old statehood but also the future of our children obliges us to protect our borders." — Judit Varga, Hungarian Justice Minister, December 17, 2020.

"While the Action Plan would give immigrants more rights and entitlements, it does not seem to take into consideration the security risks associated with mass migration." — Zoltán Kovács, spokesman for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, December 17, 2020.

"If you are thinking that all of this sounds familiar, you're not alone. The Action Plan looks similar to George Soros' plan to have Europe admit 'at least a million asylum-seekers annually for the foreseeable future.'.... Those migrants that Europe should be admitting, according to the Soros plan, their distribution should be permanent and mandatory. He also made it clear that his plan aims to protect immigrants and that national borders are an obstacle to this." — Zoltán Kovács, December 17, 2020.

"The Union, according to the plan, would give more support to immigrants than to its own citizens by supporting businesses established and run by the former. Moreover, the plan, by supporting the employment of migrants, would put unemployed EU citizens in an even more difficult position." — Zoltán Kovács, December 17, 2020.

"But the Commission's Action Plan goes even further, seeking to bring in some 34 million migrants to become EU citizens (nearly 8 percent of the current EU population). That is, 34 million migrants would be granted citizenship and the right to vote.... Who says this is what Europe wants or needs? When have the citizens of Europe voted for this?" — Zoltán Kovács, December 17, 2020.

The Court of Justice of the European Union, the EU's top court, has ruled that Hungary violated EU law when it prevented illegal immigrants from seeking asylum. The ruling paves the way for the European Commission, the EU's powerful administrative arm, to impose financial penalties over Hungary's restrictive immigration policies. The Hungarian government has vowed that it will not bow to pressure to jump aboard the EU's multicultural bandwagon.

In its December 17 ruling, the court, informally known as European Court of Justice (ECJ) accused the Hungarian government of corralling migrants into so-called transit zones and of limiting their ability to apply for asylum. The court also found that Hungary did not allow asylum seekers to leave detention while their cases were being considered and offered no special protection to children and the vulnerable.

The case stems from a lawsuit filed by the European Commission over a 2015 decision by Hungary to establish two transit zones on its southern border with Serbia to stop a mass influx of migrants from Africa, Asia and the Middle East. The action prevented migrants from entering Hungary or transiting the country to reach other parts of the EU.

In May 2020, the ECJ ruled that the transit zones were illegal under EU law. In order to comply with the ruling, Hungary has since closed the transit zones. Asylum seekers wanting to enter Hungary now have to apply for asylum at Hungarian embassies or consulates in neighboring non-EU countries. "External border protection is an issue that Hungary cannot, does not want to, and will not concede," said Gergely Gulyás, from the Prime Minister's Office....

#1  So a "transit zone" is actually a non-transit zone i.e. a detention area?

Anyway: why is Hungary being required to commit national suicide? Even the Communists weren't this crazy

'Invisible shipwrecks' belie falling migrant deaths: UN
[AlAhram] The IOM's Missing Moslem colonists Migrants report showed 3,174 deaths compared to 5,327 in 2019

The number of deaths recorded on migratory routes fell this year, although COVID-19 difficulties and so-called "invisible shipwrecks" mean the real number is probably much higher, officials at the U.N. migration agency said on Friday.

The IOM's Missing Moslem colonists Migrants report showed 3,174 deaths compared to 5,327 in 2019.

"The decrease in recorded migrant deaths is not necessarily an indication that the number of lives lost truly dropped in 2020 as COVID-19 also challenges our ability both to collate data on deaths during migration and monitor specific routes," the IOM said.

Crucially, the data does not include losses from at least 15 so-called "invisible shipwrecks" in the Mediterranean - events that cannot officially be corroborated because the vessels cannot be located and information is insufficient.

If officials learn about them at all, it is often through bereaved family members.

Sometimes, the only indication is floating bodies.

In a poignant indication of the problem, the bodies of four children washed up on the shores of Libya this week from a boat believed to be carrying North and West African migrants colonists.

"Incidents like this happen way too often. These are the ones we know about and the number of lives lost on the crossing are much higher (than reported)," said the IOM's Safa Msehli.

The report said 729 deaths had been confirmed in the central Mediterranean in 2020.

Msehli estimated that at least 600 more people have drowned in the Mediterranean this year in unrecorded incidents.

"There are gaps, serious life-threatening gaps in the monitoring of these routes," said the IOM's Paul Dillon, calling for rigorous, state-led search and rescue capacities.

The IOM data also showed an increase in fatalities on some routes, such as the journey to Spain's Canary Islands, where 593 deaths were recorded compared with 210 last year.

More migrant losses were also recorded in South America, with many of the 104 recorded from Venezuela

Olde Tyme Religion
Senate passes bill making FGM prevention easier
[TheHill] Congress delivered an overdue holiday gift to thousands of women and girls in America. The Stop Female Genital Mutilation Act was passed by the Senate with a unanimous vote and now heads to the Oval Office for the president to sign. This critical federal legislation offers protection to so many vulnerable women and girls in the decades to come.

Female genital mutilation is the cutting or removal of these body parts of women for nonmedical purposes. The practice has no health benefits but levies physical and psychological effects. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that more than 510,000 women and girls in the country have had female genital mutilation or are at risk of it.
This was a bipartisan effort in both the House and Senate; after Potus signs, it could be challenged on 1st amendment grounds (restricting sincere practice of religion), but this would mean the kind of scrutiny that CAIR, etc. would rather not have.

I would've guessed they would water it down with a euphemism like Modification, instead.

And the fact that we have to even pass laws against this is just insane. But our politicians insist on importing barbarians
