Libyan Sheikhs and Elders Council: Qatar Continues to Communicate with Terrorist Groups
[ALMARSAD.CO] The spokesperson for the Supreme Council of Libyan Sheikhs and Elders, Abu Bakr Suleiman Mardamah said that Libyans support the Libyan National Army (LNA), led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy, so it's kind of hard to describe him as a Qadaffy holdover. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all. Actually, he is, but slowly...
, to fight terrorism and Ottoman Turkish invasion of Libya.

[Libyan, 13 March 2020] ‐ Abu Bakr Suleiman Mardamah, a notable figure of the Tebu in the western region, told al-Ain news website that the action was taken by the Council regarding suing Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's satrapy in Asia Minor...
for committing war crimes in Libya is not just talk because the Council has already begun following necessary procedures to sue these countries officially.

He noted that the Libyans have declared the call for Jihad not to fight against other Libyans but to fight Ottoman occupation. He stressed that all the Libyan tribal members have been fighting in various axis under the umbrella of the LNA to confront the Ottoman occupation that tried to break the bonds among the Libyans and spread conflict across the country.

"Libyans in the Mosaed crossing in the east, at Las Jdir in the west, at Tamsah and Kaftah in the southeast, and at Tajirai and Qatron in the southeast are backing the Armed Forces in its war against terrorism," he added.

Mardamah pointed out that Libya does not embrace turbans who are loyal to Turkey, yet they exist mainly in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
, the capital, and in the surrounding districts which are still under the control of the militias of the Government of the National Accord (GNA) headed by Fayez al-Sarraj. "All Libyans reject them," he added.

#1  Interesting. Shaykh Mardamah is a Tebu, and the Tebu (Tubu,Toubou, etc.) homeland is the Borkou-Ennedi=Tibesti region of northernmost Chad. They served as King Idris' bodyguard, and were attacked by Qadafi in his endless war on Chad. The Tebu seemingly had little love for the LNA and made present day Fezzan of south Libya a battleground. One wonders how much influence Mardamah has over Tebu warriors.

#2  You are ever a font of information, b. What did Moammar Khadaffy have against Chad?

#3  A: the Tubu of northern Chad blocked Qadafi's incorporation of the so-called Aozou Strip. They blocked the creation of a Greater Libya that would have stretched from the Med to Lake Chad and beyond. He also held it against the Tubu that they served as bodyguards to King Idris and did so to the end, blowing away many Libyans before retreating to the Bourkou-Ennedi-Tibesti. Later, they soundly defeated Qadafi's Arab Legion in a series of battles inside Chad.

Bashagha: We Defend Libya and Tripoli for a Civil and Democratic Country
[ALMARSAD.CO] The Minister of Interior of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fathi Bashagha, said that the GNA defends Libya and the capital Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
for a civil democratic state that guarantees human rights
When they're defined by the state or an NGO they don't mean much...
and the rule of law.

[Libya, 13 March 2020] ‐ Fathi Bashagha held talks in London on Thursday with senior British officials over reform in the Libyan security sector. In a speech given before the British Parliament, according to the GNA’s Ministry of Interior’s media office, the boycotting House of Representative member from Misrata, Bashagha, added that "the Government of National Accord (GNA) defends Libya in general, and the capital Tripoli in particular, for a civil, democratic state that guarantees human rights and the rule of law, for which the deaders sacrificed and are still sacrificing to defeat the aggression launched by Haftar and his militia on the capital, Tripoli."

He also lauded the role played by the United Kingdom in its support for the GNA in the war against the ISIS terrorist organization in Sirte in 2016 and the liberation of the city. He expressed the GNA’s willingness to maintain joint security cooperation and coordination between the two countries.

Bashagha stressed the need to strengthen bilateral relations between Libya and the United Kingdom, especially in the areas of security and trade, in order to serve the interests of both countries. He expressed his hope for a greater role by the UK and the other allies of the GNA in order to help build, stabilise and ensure a free future for all Libyans.

Lawmakers Grill Army Officer Over Lack Of Missile Defenses In Iraq After Fatal Rocket Attack
[TheDrive] The discussion centered on Israel's Iron Dome system, but reflects broader frustrations after months of rocket attacks from Iranian-backed militias.

Members of Congress and a senior U.S. Army officer had a testy exchange on Capitol Hill today over the lack of air and missile defenses in Iraq in the wake of a rocket attack that killed two American troops and one British service member at Taji Air Base yesterday. Legislators were particularly interested in why the U.S. Army has not yet deployed its recently acquired Israeli-made Iron Dome systems, which are combat-proven against exactly these types of threats. The tense discussion also came amid reports that none of the rockets fired at Taji were shot down, even though the U.S. military says it is now in the process of bringing air and missile defense systems into the country.

Congressmen Doug Lamborn and John Garamendi, a Republican from Colorado and a Democrat from California, respectively, grilled U.S. Army Lieutenant General Daniel Karbler, head of U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, about Iron Dome and the attack on Taji at a hearing on Mar. 12, 2020. Earlier in the day, U.S. Marine Corps General Frank McKenzie, commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), had told reporters that Iranian-backed militias in Iraq were very likely responsible for firing the rockets at Taji, which also wounded at least a dozen other personnel belonging the U.S.-led coalition at the base. U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper has also blamed at Iran and its regional proxies.

Beyond Iron Dome, Garamendi's comments, in particular, reflect a growing frustration on part of Congress, as well as the general public, regarding the apparent (no shit) lack of defenses available to counter the immediate threat of both rockets and ballistic missiles that U.S. forces in the Middle East, especially Iraq, face right now. Rocket attacks, similar to the one aimed at Taji yesterday, have been occurring regularly at a number of bases that American troops use in that country, as well as the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, for months now.

Politico has reported that no existing U.S. air defenses at Taji shot down any of the incoming rockets in this latest attack and its not even clear if there were any such systems in place at all.

UAE Cleric Waseem Yousef: Muslim Refugees In The West Are Obligated To Integrate, Coexist
[MEMRI.ORG] On January 18, 2020, a Syrian woman named Umm Muhammad called in to a show on Abu Dhabi TV (UAE) hosted by Jordanian-born UAE Islamic scholar Sheikh Waseem Yusef.

She said that she is a refugee in Norway along with her family, and that she sends her six children to public schools in Norway, where they are being taught about Judaism, Christianity, atheism, and other non-Islamic religions. She said that the curriculum includes a visit to a church during the holidays, and she asked what she should do to prevent her children from leaving Islam.

Sheikh Yusef responded that she should raise her children as Moslems and that she should teach them to integrate and coexist with members of other religions.

Harshly criticizing Moslems who believe that saying "Merry Christmas" or "Happy New Year" to non-Moslems is heresy, Sheikh Yusef elaborated that since Norway is welcoming Umm Muhammad's family as refugees and providing them with education, healthcare, housing, protection, and financial support, her family is obligated to be grateful and to integrate and live in brotherly coexistence with the Christians and Jews who are welcoming them.

He argued that the Moslems are the real infidels because they allowed sectarianism to destroy countries such as Syria in the name of God, and he instructed Umm Muhammad to not sow the seeds of sectarianism in the very country that is keeping her safe and providing for her family.

Sheikh Yusef also said that Umm Muhammad should view the non-Moslems in Norway as her friends, compatriots, and brothers. He added: "Heresy is denying the grace you have been given."

Khamenei Calls Coronavirus 'Possible Biological Attack', Asks Guards To Contain It
[EN.RADIOFARDA] Just days after reportedly designating President Hassan Rouhani
...Iran's moderate president, which he is, relative to his predecessor, which doesn't mean he's anything but a puppet of the nearest holy man...
to head the fight against coronavirus
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
, the Islamic Theocratic Republic Supreme Leader has called on the country's Armed Forces to help contain the epidemic.

In an "edict" to the Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Baqeri, Ali Khamenei
...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...
has emphasized on the need for setting a "health and treatment headquarters" to prevent further spread of the killer Covid-19 across the country.

Mohammad Baqeri is an Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Major General, directly appointed by Khamenei.

Furthermore, joining voices with the IRGC Chief Commander, Major General Hossein Salami, the 80-year-old holy man has implicitly described novel coronavirus epidemic as an American "biological attack."

"Since there is speculation that this incident might be a 'biological attack,' this measure could also be some form of biological defense drill, which would add to national power and strength," Khamenei said.

Salami had speculated on March 5 that the global coronavirus outbreak might be a "U.S. biological warfare attack on China."

Khamenei's decision is an apparent blow to Rouhani's authority as the head of the government.

Meanwhile,
...back at the dirigible, the pilot and the copilot had both hit the silk.

Jack! Cynthia exclaimed. Do you know how to drive one of these things?

Jack wiped some of the blood from his knuckles.

No, he said. Do you?...

in his letter addressed to the Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces, Khamenei said he wants the military to work closely with Iran's Ministry of Health and establish a headquarters for countering Covid-19.
I'd suggest Qom

UN's Guterres Calls On Countries To Help Iran Fight Coronavirus Epidemic
[EN.RADIOFARDA] The United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...
Secretary-General António Guterres
...Portuguese politician and diplomat, ninth Secretary-General of the United Nations. Previously, he was the UN High Commissioner for Refugees between 2005 and 2015. He was the Prime Minister of Portugal from 1995 to 2002 and was the Secretary-General of the Socialist Party from 1992 to 2002. He served as President of the Socialist International from 1999 to 2005. In both a 2012 and 2014 poll, the Portuguese public ranked him as the best Prime Minister of the previous 30 years...
has said he is "deeply concerned" about the outbreak of novel coronavirus
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
in Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
and promises U.N.’s support.

Furthermore, he has called on the member states and international organizations to support the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran's efforts in countering coronavirus outbreak.

A front man for the U.N. Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, cited the remarks late Thursday in response to the Islamic Theocratic Republic Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif
...Persian foreign minister, Mouthpiece of Mullahs, good friend of John Kerry and similar exemplars of Merkin values...
's letter to Guterres.

"We have received a copy of Zarif's letter," he said, noting that U.N. chief is deeply concerned about the spread of coronavirus in Iran, as Iran is one of the countries severely affected by the virus.

Hours earlier, in a letter to Guterres, Zarif had called for lifting Washington's sanctions imposed on Tehran that he described as a "campaign of economic terrorism."

The latest issue of the group’s news outlet al-Naba instructs the snuffies on the front lines to "stay away from sick people," "wash your hands before eating" and to "avoid travel to the affected areas," the Daily Mail reported.
