Army says Shiites are not law abiding
[PULSE.NG] The Nigerians Army has announced that it will not allow members of the Shiite sect trample on the rights of law abiding Nigerians.

According to Vanguard, this was made known to newsmen by the Commander, Guards Brigade, Brigadier General Umar T. Musa on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.

Musa, speaking at the 2018 Guards Brigade Inter Unit Drill Competition in Abuja, said members of the group are not law abiding.

He said "As you are aware, in the last few days, troops have been having some encounters with the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (Shiites). They have been causing destruction and mayhem. They are not law abiding and such people who don’t respect the law cannot be allowed to disturb the peace and security of the federal capital."

There has been several festivities involving members of the sect and security operatives recently, leaving over 20 people dead, reports say.

TIMI FRANK WRITES UN
The former front man of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank has however condemned the killing of members of the Shiite sect recently.

Frank made this known in an open letter which he wrote to members of the international community including the United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
(UN).

In the letter obtained from Daily Post, the former APC front man called for an international judicial inquiry into the festivities between the sect members and the Army.

Shiites are basically Moslems who believe that prophet Muhammad’s cousin, Ali ibn Abi Talib should have been the first Moslem leader after his death.

Arabia
Yemen is sovereign, won’t accept American diktats: Foreign minister
[PRESSTV] Yemeni Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf has censured the latest remarks by US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis about the need for the establishment of a semi-autonomous region in the conflict-stricken Arab country, stating that the Yemeni nation welcomes any initiative that does not undermine national principles.

"Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
is a sovereign country. We do not take orders from anyone, and do not accept the loss of our national illusory sovereignty," Sharaf told Arabic-language al-Masirah televisions network on Tuesday evening.

He added that Yemenis are defending their motherland and will not allow their illusory sovereignty to be undermined in any way.

"Our missiles are meant to safeguard Yemen’s security. We had not attacked anyone prior to the onset of the Saudi-led military aggression," Sharaf pointed out.

He stressed that the Pentagon chief’s comments about a political case confirms that Washington views Yemen through a military perspective.

"There would have been no aggression against Yemen in case the United States of America and Britannia had not supported the Saudi regime," Sharaf said.

Pompeo Says Khashoggi Murder Violated International Law
[An Nahar] The murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi inside Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
's consulate in Istanbul was a violation of international law, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Wednesday.

The top U.S. diplomat nonetheless stressed that he wanted to preserve the decades-old alliance with Saudi Arabia and declined explicitly to criticize Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman
...Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia as of 2016....
, who has been consolidating power.

"It's an awful thing that took place," Pompeo told conservative talk show host Brian Kilmeade.

"The killing, the murder of Jamal Khashoggi in the consulate in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund....
violates the norms of international law. That much is very, very clear," he said.

His remarks came as Turkey's chief prosecutor said that Khashoggi, a critic of the palace who lived in self-imposed exile in suburban Washington, was strangled as soon as he entered the Istanbul consulate, with his body then dismembered.

Pompeo, who was not asked directly about the Ottoman Turkish findings, said the United States "won't rely on others" but would "develop our fact pattern" based on information it receives.

U.S. Calls for Yemen Ceasefire
[An Nahar] The United States called Tuesday for a ceasefire and peace talks in Yemen, as the Saudi-led military coalition sent more than 10,000 new troops toward a vital rebel-held port city ahead of a new assault.

Pentagon chief Jim Mattis said the US had been watching the conflict "for long enough," adding that Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
and the United Arab Emirates, which are in a US-backed coalition fighting Shiite Houthis, are ready for talks.

"We have got to move toward a peace effort here, and we can't say we are going to do it some time in the future," Mattis said at the US Institute of Peace in Washington.

"We need to be doing this in the next 30 days."

He said the US is calling for all warring parties to meet with United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
special envoy Martin Griffiths in Sweden in November and "come to a solution."

US-Saudi ties have cooled in recent weeks after the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, a prominent critic of the conservative kingdom, that has also tarnished the image of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman
...Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia as of 2016....
.

Saudi Arabia and its allies intervened in the conflict between embattled Yemeni President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi, whose government is recognized by the United Nations, and the Huthis in 2015.

Ahwazi official tells Al Arabiya English details of Iran attack in Denmark
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] In a new development regarding Denmark’s move to recall its ambassador to Iran, it has been revealed that a foiled attack was targeting the leader of the "Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahwaz" who is residing in the Scandinavian country.

In an interview with Al Arabiya English the front man of the "Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahwaz" Yaquob Hurr al-Tisteri said that the Danish security authorities thwarted an attempt targeting the head of the movement Habib Jaber.

When asked whether this failed plan is a continuation of the plan that led to the liquidation of Ahmed Mawla (who was also a leader of the "Struggle Movement") last year in the Netherlands, al-Tisteri said: "Iran has never stopped its plots against our Arab Ahwazi people and its activists, especially since our cause and the struggle of our people has now escalated considerably, but certainly this will not discourage the movement of the struggle and the rest of our organizations from going forward to lift the injustice and oppression of our people and their right to self-determination."

The front man revealed that they are coordinating with a law firm in the Scandinavian country "to prepare a legal file based on the available information on the role of the Iranian regime in this failed attack to be presented to the Danish judiciary."

He confirmed during the interview that "Denmark has officially announced that it will move to urge the EU countries to take a common stand against the Iranian regime for its direct role in this thwarted operation," adding "the Danish security chief also issued a strong warning to the Iranian intelligence services’ reluctance to repeat any attempt of this kind."

Tisteri concluded by saying that: "The failed operation that was revealed today is a consistent Iranian approach toward the demands of our fair Ahwazi people and the demands of other non-Persian peoples, and once again shows that the Iranian state has no solutions other than terrorism against just demands."

Turkey Says Khashoggi Strangled, Couldn't Have Been Killed without 'High-Level' Order
[An Nahar] Journalist Jamal Khashoggi was strangled as soon as he entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul and his body was dismembered and destroyed as part of a premeditated plan, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor....
's chief prosecutor said Wednesday, making details of the murder public for the first time.

The revelations came only an hour after Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
's chief prosecutor left Istanbul, and his Ottoman Turkish counterpart said he was "obliged" to release the information after their talks produced "no concrete results."

Gruesome reports in the Ottoman Turkish media had previously alleged that Khashoggi, a 59-year-old Washington Post contributor who had criticized the powerful Saudi crown prince, was killed and cut into pieces by a team sent from Riyadh to silence him. His body has not been found.

"In accordance with plans made in advance, the victim, Jamal Khashoggi, was strangled to death immediately after entering the Consulate General of Saudi Arabia in Istanbul on October 2, 2018 for marriage formalities," said a statement from the office of Istanbul chief prosecutor Irfan Fidan.

"The victim's body was dismembered and destroyed following his death by suffocation -‐ again, in line with advance plans," it added.

Saudi Arabia sent the head of its investigation to Istanbul this week, seeking to draw a line under a crisis that has brought near unprecedented scrutiny on the oil-rich Gulf nation.

Attorney General Sheikh Saud al-Mojeb arrived in Istanbul on Sunday, met with Fidan twice, visited the consulate and spoke with Turkey's MIT intelligence agency.

He then flew out of Istanbul on Wednesday afternoon without making a public statement.

"Despite our well-intentioned efforts to reveal the truth, no concrete results have come out of those meetings," the Ottoman Turkish prosecutor's office said.

It added that the Saudi prosecutor’s office invited Fidan and his delegation to Riyadh "along with the evidence they have obtained."

India-Pakistan
Pakistan PM calls for calm after Aasia Bibi cleared of blasphemy
[Al Jazeera] Pak Prime Minister Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who is the lightweight's lightweight...
has appealed for calm after far-right protesters blocked roads in several major cities following the Supreme Court's acquittal of a Christian woman who had been sentenced to death on blasphemy charges.

Aasia Bibi, 53, who has been death row for eight years, was acquitted by the country's top court on Wednesday morning.

Bibi's case had become emblematic of fair trial concerns in cases Pakistain’s strict blasphemy laws, and on Wednesday judges found there had been "glaring and stark" contradictions in the prosecution's case against her.

The announcement of the verdict prompted thousands to protest across the country, rallied by the far-right Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistain (TLP) political party and religious organization.

The TLP, headed by Khadim Hussain Rizvi, has campaigned on the issue of blasphemy for years and has been calling for Bibi to be executed since its inception.

On Wednesday, TLP leader Afzal Qadri called for the three Supreme Court judges who heard Bibi’s appeal to be killed.

"[The judges] who have ordered the release of the accused Aasia are all liable to be killed under religious edict," said Qadri at a protest in the eastern city of Lahore.

In a televised address to the nation, Prime Minister Khan rebuked the TLP for taking the law into their own hands, accusing them of stirring up religious sentiments for political gain.

"I say to these people: do not confront this state ... do not damage this country for your vote bank," said Khan.

"If you do this, I promise that the government will do its duty ... I ask you: do not force the government to have to take action."

Blasphemy against Islam and its Prophet is a sensitive subject in Pakistain, where the crime can carry a compulsory death sentence.

Iraq
Iraq Clears Swedish Woman Accused of Belonging to IS
[An Nahar] A court in the Iraqi capital on Wednesday cleared a Swedish woman of allegations that she belonged to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. group due to lack of evidence, a judicial source said.

Under Iraq's anti-terrorism law, courts can sentence to death anyone found guilty of belonging to IS, including non-combatants.

Victoria Lazar, a Swede of Serbian origin in her late 20s, was acquitted of the charge "for lack of sufficient evidence", the judicial source told AFP.

But she was sentenced in a separate case to six months in prison for illegally entering Iraq, the source added.

During questioning, Lazar had told interrogators she had come to Iraq with her husband and their three children, now aged five, four and three.

She said her husband had been killed in 2016 during bombing of Tal Afar, near djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
in the north of the country.

More than 300 people, including around 100 foreigners, have been sentenced to death and many others to life imprisonment in Iraq for joining IS, the Sunni bad boy group which at its peak controlled nearly a third of the country.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel okays equipment to boost Palestinian cell coverage in West Bank
The better to hear you with, my dears.
[IsraelTimes] Military okays request by Paltel telecom to import specialized circuit boards to improve phone service, speed up internet.

Following the Civil Administration’s final approval on Sunday, Paltel was expected to install the circuit boards this week and improve its cellular coverage almost immediately.

Earlier this year, Paleostinians in the West Bank gained 3G mobile telecommunications services, after years of negotiations with Israel.

However,
corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds...
the service remained weak for some Paleostinians in light of Paltel’s limited infrastructure. The new circuit boards are designed to address this issue.

Paltel maintains a near total monopoly over the Paleostinian telecommunications market, with some 1.5 million customers. The new equipment will only affect the firm’s network, not those of other companies in the West Bank, so Israeli settlers will not experience improved coverage as a result.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
TV report: Israel silent as Iran hit by computer virus more violent than Stuxnet
*Snicker* How very dreadful for them.
[IsraelTimes] Tehran strategic networks attacked, Hadashot TV says, hours after Israel revealed it tipped off Denmark about Iran murder plot, and days after Rouhani’s phone was found bugged

Iranian infrastructure and strategic networks have come under attack in the last few days by a computer virus similar to Stuxnet but "more violent, more advanced and more sophisticated," and Israeli officials are refusing to discuss what role, if any, they may have had in the operation, an Israeli TV report said Wednesday.

The report came hours after Israel said its Mossad intelligence agency had thwarted an Iranian murder plot in Denmark, and two days after Iran acknowledged that President Hassan Rouhani’s mobile phone had been bugged. It also follows a string of Israeli intelligence coups against Iran, including the extraction from Tehran in January by the Mossad of the contents of a vast archive documenting Iran’s nuclear weapons program, and the detailing by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the UN in September of other alleged Iranian nuclear and missile assets inside Iran, in Syria and in Leb.

"Remember Stuxnet, the virus that penetrated the computers of the Iranian nuclear industry?" the report on Israel’s Hadashot news asked. Iran "has admitted in the past few days that it is again facing a similar attack, from a more violent, more advanced and more sophisticated virus than before, that has hit infrastructure and strategic networks."

The Iranians, the TV report went on, are "not admitting, of course, how much damage has been caused."

On Sunday, Gholamreza Jalali, the head of Iran’s civil defense agency, said Tehran had neutralized a new version of Stuxnet, Rooters reported. "Recently we discovered a new generation of Stuxnet which consisted of several parts ... and was trying to enter our systems," Jalali said.

The Stuxnet virus was uncovered some eight years ago, and was widely reported to have been developed together by US and Israeli intelligence. It penetrated Iran’s rogue nuclear program, taking control and sabotaging parts of its enrichment processes by speeding up its centrifuges.

The TV report noted that "behind the scenes lately, the Mossad," under its director Yossi Cohen, has been "fighting a real shadow war."

Without attributing responsibility to the Mossad, the report mentioned the tapping of Rouhani’s phone, noting that the Iranians "had to switch it for an encrypted model because they understand that someone has been listening to him for days and weeks."

Guterres: Hezbollah will drag Lebanon into war
That certainly is their plan...
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has warned in a report to the Security Council that the militia group Hezbollah could drag Leb into war and called for its disarmament.

Guterres said Hezbollah was the most powerful militia in Leb and asked in his report whether the Lebanese state could exercise its illusory sovereignty while Hezbollah's strengthens its military arsenal.

Guterres also called for the implementation of the resolution calling for the disarmament of militias in Leb.

His report also warned against the consequences of the participation of Hezbollah in the conflict in Syria, considering it a violation of the policy of self-distancing in Leb.

Guterres also referred to Hezbollah's assistance to the Houthis in Yemen

Terror Networks
U.S. Transferring IS Suspects from Syria to Iraq, Says HRW
[An Nahar] US forces have been handing over suspected jihadists captured in Syria to the authorities in Iraq, where they face torture and botched trials, Human Rights Watch said on Wednesday.

The New York-based watchdog said the United States had transferred suspected members of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group for trials in Baghdad.

"The US should not be transferring IS suspects from Syria to Iraq or elsewhere if they will be at risk of torture or an unfair trial," HRW's Nadim Houry said.

The rights group said independent observers told them that several foreign defendants -- including from La Belle France, Australia, and Leb -- were tried in Baghdad recently and reported being captured in Syria.

In some cases, the defendants said they had never been to Iraq before.

"Faced with the refusal by many countries to take back their nationals, the US seems to have taken the easy way out by transferring some to Iraq and be done with it," Houry said.

The fate of hundreds of foreign suspected IS members detained by the Kurdish forces in the semi-autonomous northeastern region of Syria has become something of an international political and legal hot potato.

Most of their governments have refused to repatriate them for trials at home and the Kurdish administration holding them has signalled it did not intend to try them locally.
