Army will not allow Sudan to ‘fall into chaos’: Minister
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Sudan’s armed forces will not allow the country to "fall into chaos," Defence Minister General Awad Ibnouf said Monday as thousands of anti-government protesters demonstrated outside the military’s headquarters in Khartoum for third straight day.

"Sudan’s armed forces understand the reasons for the demonstrations and is not against the demands and aspirations of the citizens, but it will not allow the country to fall into chaos," Ibnouf said at a meeting of the top brass, according to the official SUNA news agency.

UN appeals to Sudan to avoid violence
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Monday appealed to all sides in Sudan to avoid violence.

Guterres urged the government of President Omar al-Bashir
Head of the National Congress Party. He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself president-for-life. He has fallen out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it.
to "create a conducive environment for a solution to the current situation and to promote an inclusive dialogue."
"I wear the curly-toed slippers giant shoulder boards here!"
Sudan’s Interior Minister Bushara Juma said seven protesters died on Saturday when forces tried to disperse them, 15 were maimed and 2,496 placed in durance vile
Please don't kill me!
during the demonstration.

The UN chief "appeals to all actors to exercise utmost restraint and avoid violence," said a UN statement.

Guterres called for the release of the detained protesters and for the full respect of human rights
...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state...
including the freedom of assembly and freedom of expression.

Sudan has been rocked by more than three months of protests that began with demonstrations against the hike in bread prices and have since morphed into opposition against Bashir.

Saudi Arabia kills Nigerian woman for drug trafficking
[PULSE.NG] A Nigerian woman has been executed by the Soddy Arabia

Saudi's interior ministry disclosed that the woman was executed on Monday, April 1, 2019 alongside two Pak men and one Yemeni man.

Europe
Germany's AfD joins Italy's League in new populist coalition
[DW] The Alternative for Germany is forming a new alliance with Italia's League and other far-right parties after the European Parliament elections. They hope the coalition will shake up the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...

Italia’s Matteo Salvini has formally launched his much-anticipated bid to unite European far-right parties ahead of EU elections in May. "We want to reform Europe," he declared during a presser at a swanky hotel in central Milan. "For many people, the EU is a nightmare, not a dream," said the Italian interior minister and deputy prime minister.

Salvini has teamed up with Germany’s right-wing populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, whose leader and currently the group’s only MEP, Jörg Meuthen was by his side. Also at the table were representatives from the Danish People's Party and the Finns Party of Finland, who are for now the only other confirmed members.

The Grand Turk
Turkey's Erdogan sees 'theft' in Istanbul vote results
[DAWN] Ottoman Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey...
on Monday cast doubt on results showing his ruling party's candidate narrowly lost the election for Istanbul mayor, saying there had been "theft at the ballot box".

Erdogan's Justice and Development Party (AKP) demanded a recount in Ankara and Istanbul citing irregularities after tallies showed the party was defeated in both cities last week ‐ in what would be a major setback in a decade and a half in power.

Erdogan's remarks appeared to signal more AKP challenges over Istanbul, the country's economic hub and largest city, echoing commentary in pro-government media last week denouncing a "ballot box putsch" during the March 31 election.

"We are seeing that some organised crimes have been carried out," Erdogan said at a presser before a trip to Russia, without giving details.

"There is an element of robbery in all of this. There was some theft at the ballot box." Erdogan said the margin between the two Istanbul candidates was too small for anyone to claim victory, suggesting when there was a problem with a percentage of votes in other countries, appeals and even new elections were not unusual.

Turkish military begins air landing drills for Syria operation
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ottoman Turkish military has begun helicopter training drills for what appears to be their next major operation in Syria.

According to the pro-opposition page Halab Today, the Ottoman Turkish military is conducting live training drills involving helicopter air landings as they prepare for their eastern Euphrates offensive against the Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG).

Ottoman Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey...
has repeatedly stated that his armed forces are going to expel the Kurdish-led troops from northern Syria.

However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well...
despite his repeated statements, Erodgan will have to deal with the U.S. Coalition, who is deeply embedded with the Kurdish forces in northern syria.

Should Washington choose to leave their forces in Syria, this could cause a major rift between the U.S. and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the most dubious NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A cautionary tale of cost-benefit analysis....
ally....

With tensions already mounting from Ankara’s S-400 deal with Russia, a potential Ottoman Turkish military operation could lead to a severe issue with the U.S.

India-Pakistan
LHC seeks written guarantee from Khadim Rizvi that he won't create unrest if released on bail
[DAWN] The Lahore High Court on Monday told Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistain (TLP) leader Khadim Hussain Rizvi to provide a written affidavit stating that he would not create unrest in the society if released on bail.

Rizvi was taken into "protective custody" by police in Lahore on November 23, 2018, after law enforcement agencies launched a massive crackdown against workers of TLP and Tehrik-e-Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLYRA).

The crackdown came ahead of Rizvi's call to party members to observe deaders’ day on November 25, the anniversary of the Faizabad sit-in. He had asked workers and supporters to gather at Faizabad in Islamabad ‐ the same venue where the party had staged a weeks-long sit-in in November 2017 that had virtually paralysed the federal capital and led to several people losing their lives.

Rizvi's arrest also came weeks after the TLP led three-day protests across the country against the acquittal of Aasia Bibi ‐ a Christian woman whose blasphemy conviction was overturned by the Supreme Court at the end of last month.

JUI-F march to Islamabad will bring down PTI govt: Fazl
[DAWN] Jamaat Ulema-e-Islam
...the political wing of the Pak Taliban...
-Fazl (JUI-F) president Maulana Fazlur Rehman
Deobandi holy man, known as Mullah Diesel during the war against the Soviets, his sympathies for the Taliban have never been tempered by honesty ...
on Sunday said that his party was fully active and ready to bring down the Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
(PTI) government.

"We have already mobilised our workers by holding 10 "million marches" in the country and are planning a decisive one, towards Islamabad, after which the PTI government will not survive," he said while speaking to the media at the residence of a senior party colleague, Hafiz Rab Nawaz Chachar, in Jam Sawaro Chachar village of Kandhkot-Kashmore district.

The Maulana observed that the PTI government had miserably failed to work on its manifesto and fulfil any one of the promises it had made with the masses. He said the country’s economy had nosedived and the poor masses were cursing the ruling clique over unbridled inflation, price hike, unemployment and unfair demolition of their houses and workplaces. He wondered that the Pakistain Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistain Moslem League-Nawaz (PML-N), both claiming to be the major political parties of the country, were indifferent to the situation and appeared not ready to oust this inept government. The JUI-F was practically playing the role of opposition, he remarked.

The JUI-F chief also criticised the government’s alleged moves to abrogate the 18th Constitutional Amendment and warned that such an act would tantamount to "treason" as it ensured the country’s integrity. However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
he added, some provisions or clauses of the amendment could be reviewed and changed with a consensus of the parliamentary parties.

"My party alone has been running a mass contact campaign to get people rid of the government," he said, pointing out that the country was today facing an economic crisis due to an all time high volume of foreign loans which were constantly increasing.

Iraq
Kurdish family learns relatives died at sea en route to Europe after 18 months
A single example of an ongoing problem.
[Rudaw] After a year and a half, it was confirmed last week that a Kurdish family who had left Duhok for Europe
...also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
in late 2017 had died in the Aegean Sea after the smuggler revealed the news under pressure.

Sherzad Abdul Aziz, his wife and four children left for Europe in November 2017. Their relatives heard nothing from them by month’s end. In early-April 2019, they were shocked to learn all of their kin had all drowned in the sea.

"My brother [Sherzad] was a Peshmerga. They were living in a rental house in Doumiz. He sold all he owned and went to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor....
," Hevidar Abdul Aziz, recounted to Rudaw. "When he arrived in Turkey, he called and said he was planning to go to Europe through smuggling routes."

On November 27, 2017, they left Turkey for Italia "but since then, we have not heard from them."

The children, two girls and two boys, ranged in age from 5-12. The father was 28 and the mother was 25.

He said the silence was anguishing. They grilled the smuggler multiple times, but he kept denying he knew anything. Hevidar said the smuggler's response to them was not convincing, so they tried other means...

"I tried a lot with him, but it was fruitless until I decided to seize a brother of the smuggler and threatened him. I called the smuggler again, and under pressure he finally revealed that they had died by drowning at sea," he said.

According to the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
, more than 1,700 migrants colonists died trying to cross into Europe in 2018.

Peshmerga soldiers are among other groups of the society who leave the Kurdistan Region and trek the dangerous road to try to reach the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...

In October last year, a month before Sherzad and his family had left Kurdistan, Issa Abdulrahman, another Peshmerga from Duhok, was traveling with his wife and five children, but they also ended up dying in the Aegean.

Under a deal with the European Union, Turkey has restricted access to Europe from its borders ‐ taking in billions of dollars to shelter the migrants colonists ‐ but many still risk the dangerous voyage.

Smugglers are often blamed for providing small boats without safety equipment which eventually lead to the death of those migrating. However,
it was a brave man who first ate an oyster...
they have a conflicting point-of-view.

"Whenever we reach an agreement with somebody to take him to Greece, we explain to them in the first place how risky the road is and tell them that we are not responsible for their life and whatever happens to them on the way," a Kurdish smuggler of 20 years who lives in Turkey told Rudaw.

"Therefore such incidents are normal in our opinion," he said.

"Whenever something wrong happens to their relatives they start to threaten us from Kurdistan," he said referring to the upset relatives of the dear departed.

He explained, many other families like those of Sherzad have drowned in the sea and nobody even knows.

"There are tens of Kurdish families who have drowned at sea and yet their families believe they are alive ‐ waiting for them to return."

As the EU has tightened its immigration policy, many migrants colonists are left off the Greek mainland on the island camp of Lesbos, where overcrowding is rife.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
IRGC: Facts and Figures
[IsraelTimes] The group is estimated to have between 125,000 and 150,000 members today, but it is unclear how many of those include the Quds Force, an elite wing of the IRGC that oversees foreign operations. The group, enshrined in the constitution, answers only to Iran’s supreme leader.

The IRGC oversees the country’s ballistic missile program and has conducted several tests since the landmark 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers.

Additionally, the guard runs a massive construction company called Khatam al-Anbia, with 135,000 employees handling civil development, the oil industry and defense issues. Firms operated by the IRGC also build roads, man ports, run telecommunication networks and even offer laser eye surgery. The IRGC has deployed in rescue efforts during Iran’s recent devastating floods, which killed at least 70 people across the country.

Russia calls on US to leave Iraq-Jordan-Syria camp amid humanitarian concerns
[Rudaw] Russia called for the United States to close the al-Rukban camp on the Iraq-Jordan-Syria border "as soon as possible," claiming displaced Syrians want to return home because they don't "feel free" there.
So the Soviet Union Reborn, and Wagner PMC and the rest of the resurrected commies are going to leave Venezuela and abandon Cuba (since it infringes on Florida recreational space needs) ASAP! Right? If not, get off their fricking Rocking Horse.

"According to UN observers who visited the camp, most of the displaced people there want to return home, including to territories controlled by the Syrian government," Russian FM Sergey Lavrov said during a visit to Amman on Sunday.

The camp on the strategic tri-border region has sheltered some 50,000 Syrians during the conflict with the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS).

Russia has repeatedly called for the United States to leave the strategic desert area at the crossing of three borders.
Al-Jalighem is further south than al-Baghouz and the Middle Euphrates River Valley where ISIS endured its last military defeat to the US-led international coalition last month.

Lavrov, standing next to Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi, called it a "de facto occupation" by the United States, vowing Moscow would take all steps necessary to help people leave.

The United States says it will leave 200 forces at its nearby At Tanf garrison, where it trains tribal anti-ISIS forces.

"It is necessary to stop the efforts preventing their freedom. I can say this because they do not feel free in this camp," claimed Lavrov.

Syria's state-run SANA news agency reported on Sunday that dozens of families left the camp in buses bound for Homs province via a corridor in coordination with Damascus.

It reported the "mercenaries" were taken to temporary residence centers in areas "liberated" by the Syrian Arab Army. From the centers in Homs, SANA reported, the displaced will be taken to "their original areas of residence."

Fatigue, exhaustion, and poor health were apparent, according to SANA.

Syrian sources have complained of a lack of humanitarian aid ‐ namely by Jordan ‐ for people in the camp who have lived there for nearly five years

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on Sunday that over the past 24 hours 1,700 people had left the camp.

UK-based conflict monitor added that some families paid 50,000-300,000 Syrian pounds ($97-$583) following "necessary security investigations."

Russia has repeatedly called for the United States to leave the area. The United States views the desert area as strategic because of the crossing between the three borders.

The United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) encouraged all parties to act within their obligations under international humanitarian law in a statement in February.

"The humanitarian situation there has been deteriorating due to harsh winter conditions and the lack of access to basic assistance and services," said UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator a.i., Sajjad Malik, in the statement.

He called a delivery of supplies by the UN and Syrian Arab Red Islamic Thingy at the time "a temporary measure."
