Under Trump, US military Ops in Somalia increased significantly
[Garowe] The number of deaths and injuries among the civilians resulting from military Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s in Somalia have significantly reduced since the emergence of COVID-19 in 2020, a report done by Airwars group has revealed, in what could be welcomed by members or human rights
...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state...
groups.

With spirited efforts to degrade the terror group, US Africa Command, the African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
Mission in Somalia [AMISOM] and the Somali National Army have intensified the onslaught against al-Shabaab
...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
across Lower Shabelle and Jubba regions, significantly weakening the group.

For instance, the team managed to liberate Janaale, a town situated in Lower Shabelle in March 2020, and since then, a number of high-ranking al-Shabaab bandidos snuffies have been killed in dronezaps launched by the US Africa Command.

The report by the Airwars group indicates that since the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the airstrikes targeting civilians especially in Somalia have drastically reduced by 75 percent, an indication that civilian fatalities significantly reduced.

In Somalia, the report highlights the contrast between the US military operations under Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
and his two predecessors. Under Trump, there were 276 strikes or ground operations, 205 of which were officially confirmed while between George Bush and Barack Obama
I am the change that you seek...
, there were 67 confirmed and alleged actions.

According to the report by Airwars, in four years of Trump, US actions had resulted in a minimum alleged 134 to 174 civilian deaths, compared to 59 to 157 claimed fatalities in ten years of Bush and Obama. AFRICOM acknowledged one civilian death 5 injuries in separate strikes in 2020.

The airstrikes are waged against al-Shabaab bandidos snuffies especially in Middle Jubba and Lower Shebelle, where the bandidos snuffies have controlled for a long time. They are also meant to help combat troops pursue the bandidos snuffies on the ground with minimal resistance.

Despite the US Africa Command exit from Somalia, the military still wages airstrikes against the bandidos snuffies from undefined locations, with at least 10 airstrikes conducted this year.

AFRICOM - the US Africa Command has started tabling quarterly reports on civilian assessment in May 2020, following complaints by civil societies in Somalia.

Woman Appears in Nigerian Court over Prostitution in Libya
[LibyaReview] An alleged victim of human trafficking, Frasanna Adejoke, on Monday divulged to Nigeria’s Federal High Court how she was lured to Libya for prostitution.

Adejoke, who was testifying in a case of human trafficking filed against her, claimed a recruitment company deceived her to travel to Libya for an employment opportunity.

She said she was then forced into a prostitution ring by two people, including Philips, who is a defendant in the case, and her Libyan partner, called Abora. "We travelled through Niger to Agadez, on and on we went until we got to Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
in Libya, where she introduced Abora, her Arab agent to me.

"Philips did not tell me why she took me to Libya and not Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
as she earlier promised," she said. "However,
it was a brave man who first ate an oyster...
I was deported on 25 April 2017, when the Libyan police raided the ring," Adejoke told the court.

Justice Patricia Ajoku subsequently adjourned the case until 23 March for further hearing.

Libya has become the preferred point of departure for thousands of migrants colonists wishing to cross the Mediterranean towards Europe. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has reported that about 12,000 migrants colonists were intercepted in the Mediterranean and returned to Libya in 2020.

Liberia Removed From the U.S. Coast Guard Advisory List of Nations That Do Not Maintain ''Effective Anti-Terrorism Measures''
[AllAfrica] The Liberian government has thanked its United States counterpart for the recent removal of the Liberia from the US Coast Guard Advisory List of nations that do not maintain "effective anti-terrorism measures".

"The Republic of Liberia is removed from the list of the Countries Affected in paragraph B of this Port Security Advisory. Therefore, effective immediately, actions required in paragraphs C and D of this Port Security Advisory are no longer required for vessels that arrive in the United States after visiting ports in the Republic of Liberia," - U.S. Coast Guard Port Security Advisory (2-20) stated

The decision now paves the way for vessels arriving from Liberia to no longer be designated for special security measures and checks.

The Commissioner of the Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA) Lenn Eugene Nagbe lauded the Americans during a visit to the LiMA headquarters on Monday, March 1, 2021 by U.S Ambassador to Liberia H.E. Michael McCarthy.

Commissioner Nagbe emphasized the commitment of the Liberian government to remain compliant with stipulated U.S. counterterrorism measures and other international protocols governing maritime security.

He underscored the strong traditional ties that Liberia has with the United States, while appraising the Ambassador of the tangible steps the government is taking to ensure Liberian ports are safe for all users.

The Commissioner acknowledged that considering Liberian-flagged vessels constitute 20% of those supplying the commercial needs of the United States, the need for both nations to collaborate remains paramount.

His call mirrors a similar appeal he made during a recent kidnapping situation in the Gulf of Guinea, one of the most dangerous sea routes in the world, when a vessel flying the Liberian flag was overtaken by pirates. At the time he sought to rally international support and the cooperation of the major maritime actors for fight the growing menace.

Liberia, he said, as a "leading maritime state will work closely with our regional and international allies to find a lasting solution". Nagbe emphasized the need to take greater action in order to face the threat in a "practical and efficient" manner.

During the visit, Ambassador McCarthy thanked the Liberian government for helping fight terrorism and sanctions violation. He urged the authorities to continue to take positive steps that would ensure they are complaint with local and international sanctions.

With Liberia no longer on the U.S. list of restricted countries, all vessels arriving in the United States that visited Liberia during their last five port calls will no longer be required to take measures such as Implementing a Ship security equivalent to Security Level 2 of ISPS or Ensuring that each access point is guarded

During the visit at LiMA offices in Sinkor, both Ambassador McCarthy and Minister Nagbe also discussed ways of mitigating the growing wave of piracy in the Gulf of Guinea.

The US Envoy used the occasion to urged enhances cooperation on issues of mutual interest to Liberia and the United States.

The Government of the US supports Liberia's Maritime program through multiple technical support including the provision of training and equipment to the Liberia Coast Guard amongst others.

Britain
British politician calls on UK gov’t to disclose report on Muslim Brotherhood
[AlAhram] A response from the British government about the request of disclosing the full content of the report is due by 9 March, according to the official website of the UK parliament

Conservative Life peer Lord Marlesford has sent an official question to the UK government over the outcomes of the internal review report on the Moslem Brüderbund, with which a specialised committee was entrusted in April 2014 upon a request from the government.

Lord Marlesford, who co-chairs the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Egypt, a Country Group in the UK parliament, has called on the government of Prime Minister Boris Johnson
...pro-Brexit British prime minister, succeeding no-Brexit Theresa May. BoJo is noted as much for his sparkling personality and his hair as for his Conservative policies....
to disclose its plans as regards publishing the report fully after releasing a summary in 2015 that did not include the most important conclusions.

The member of the House of Lords added that the matter raised a question mark over the details included in the report about the Brotherhood's threat to the British national security.

He also urged on Johnson's government to reveal its stance and assessment of those findings, asserting that the published findings of the review have indicated the Moslem Brüderbund’s threat to the British national security and interests.

Lord Marlesford asked the government about the plans it has "to undertake a further review of the muslim Brotherhood."

A response from the British government about the request of disclosing the full content of the report is due by 9 March, according to the official website of the UK parliament.

On 26 October, Lord Marlesford asked the government about its assessment over the appointment of Ibrahim Mounir to the role of Acting General Guide of the Moslem Brüderbund; and what assessment its has made of any threat posed by his presence to the UK national security and international relations.

On 5 November, the British government said in a response to Marlesford's question saying "We do not comment on individuals, but the government keeps under review the views promoted and activities undertaken by the Moslem Brüderbund, including their associates in the UK."

"Any allegations of threats to UK national security or misuse of charity funding within the UK are robustly investigated and appropriate action taken," it added.

Also on 27 October, another question was tabled concerning the 2015 published report on the Brotherhood by the Conservative Lord Robathan who asked the government "what recent assessment, if any, they have made of the Moslem Brüderbund."

An answer by the Government was sent stating that " the government remains committed to reviewing any groups or individuals whose actions may pose a national security threat to the UK."

"These reviews are undertaken on the basis of credible evidence and we will continue to consider any new evidence on the Moslem Brüderbund's activities against the UK's legal thresholds," it added.

The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Egypt aims to strengthen relations between British and Egyptian parliamentarians and to strengthen British-Egyptian ties with both chambers of the UK Parliament.

The group is headed by Jonathan Lord of the Conservative Party and includes a large number of representatives from all parties and independent representatives.

Samir Takla, a prominent figure in the Egyptian community in the UK, acts as the Egypt group's secretariat.

#1  In an interview with the London-based Arabic daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, Mustafa Mashur, the Sixth General Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, asserted that many intelligence services had failed "to pinpoint a world leadership." He contended the Ikhwan had, "no international leadership controlling its activities;" rather, "local leaders" met from time to time "to exchange views and to preserve relationships." Mashur noted that after it was crushed by Nasser in the 1950s the organization "scattered across the Arab world and beyond." Thereafter, "it set about accomodating itself [and] operating in each country according to local possibilities." Contradictions exist, but that remains today the argument of the London Ikhwan.

The radicalisation menace in Tamil Nadu was brushed aside for too long, until the NIA exposed it in 2014
[OneIndia] The rise in radicalisation in Tamil Nadu has been a key concern for the security agencies. The topic has been for long brushed under the carpet and it was only in 2014 that the National Investigating Agency began a sustained campaign, following which several modules were busted and many were arrested.
