Islamabad reacts to President Ghani’s remarks regarding Khyber Pakhtunkhwa protests
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] Islamabad has reacted to the remarks by the Afghanistan's Caped President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..
regarding the protests in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, calling the statement a gross interference in the internal affair of the country.

"We reject the tweet by President Ashraf Ghani. Such irresponsible statements are only gross interference. Afghan leadership to focus on long-standing serious grievances of the Afghan people," Shah Mehmood Wormtongue Qureshi, the foreign minister of Pakistain said in a Twitter post.

Africa Subsaharan
Terrorism haunts Nigeria’s elections
[AlAhram] A surge in Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
attacks in the northeast of Nigeria is threatening to throw preparations for presidential elections, slated for 16 February, into disarray, Haitham Nouri reports.

The terrorist group’s violence is not the only challenge to President Muhammadu Buhari, who is seeking a second four-year term. Clashes between farmers and nomadic herders over dwindling arable land in Nigeria’s central states, tensions in the oil-rich Delta in the south, and accusations of corruption by rights groups are threatening Buhari’s stay at the helm.

Europe
US slams Germany for deporting wanted terrorist to Turkey
[DW] The US wants Adem Yilmaz to face terrorism charges in New York. Instead, Germany deported him to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor....
this week after he had served a prison sentence on a terrorism conviction.

The United States sharply criticized Germany on Thursday for deporting a convicted terrorist to Turkey despite an extradition request for him to stand trial in a New York court.

Adem Yilmaz was deported on Tuesday to his native Turkey after serving an 11-year prison sentence in Germany for planning a 2007 bomb plot to attack American citizens and facilities in Germany as part of an Islamist murderous Moslem cell.
That would be the Sauerland group, a cell of the Islamic Jihad Union.
The United States had requested his extradition to face terrorism charges for conspiring to carry out a 2008 suicide kaboom near the Afghanistan-Pakistain border which killed two US soldiers and injured 11 other people. Yilmaz, a member of a group called the Islamic Jihad Union,
...linked to the Taliban and Al Qaeda, IJU split off from the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU) in 2002 to concentrate on global jihad instead of staying local. They’re headquartered in North Waziristan near the Afghan border, and have attracted loads of Turks living in Germany and Germans who converted to Islam. Since 2015 some numbers of them, including emirs as well as jihadi tourist cannon fodder travelled to join Al Nusra’s Turkic unit in Syria, but members happily travel all over to commit their attacks, including to ISIS and back to the Ould Sod...
is also accused carrying out attacks on US troops on the Pakistain-Afghanistan border
...also known as Pashtunistan, home of ignorance, poverty, and automatic weapons...
in 2006.

New York prosecutors filed the indictment against Yilmaz in 2015, but it was only unsealed at around the time he was being deported from Germany to Turkey.

Acting US Attorney General Matthew Whitaker said in a statement he was "gravely disappointed" Germany had decided to deport Yilmaz to Turkey instead of extraditing him to the United States.

"The German government deliberately helped Yilmaz escape justice by placing him on a plane to Turkey," Whitaker said in a statement.

"The German government has refused to take any responsibility for failing to extradite him to the United States, has flouted their treaty obligations and has undermined the rule of law," he said.

The issue was also addressed in talks on Wednesday between US Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan and German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, who was in Washington for an international meeting on the "Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....

DOUBLE JEOPARDY
Germany's Foreign Ministry said Yilmaz's deportation was a decision of the independent justice system and followed the rule of law, sources told AFP.

A Frankfurt court spokesperson told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that extraditing Yilmaz to the United States would have been considered double jeopardy under German law.

"An extradition could have only occurred if the Americans said they would restrict the charges to crimes not already punished," the spokesperson said.

The United States had filed papers on Monday to address the Frankfurt court's decision, but the state of Hesse acted on the deportation order.

Yilmaz was tossed in the clink
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
by Ottoman Turkish counter-terrorism forces upon his arrival at an Istanbul airport and was questioned. It was unclear if he will face charges there.

US officials said they were in contact with Ottoman Turkish authorities about extraditing Yilmaz.
The Daily Mail has more about the plot for which he was arrested.

Well no. Germany's politicians would have gladly shipped that guy to the U.S. A Frankfurt court said no because the U.S. would not drop charges he was already convicted for. Blame yourself, really, not German courts which followed the law.

#9  The time when German courts were following orders and not the law is not something you want to see again.

The extradition request is from 2017, and the U.S. authorities were fully aware of the fact that extradition without guarantees of no double jeopardy was a no go (the other no go is the death penalty). The U.S. Department of Justice sat on its hands. This issue could have been easily resolved in time. The charges that haven't been tried yet are so serious that the result - life without parole if proven guilty - would have been guaranteed.

The German court in Frankfurt had no choice.

1/4 of French Believe ‘Elites' Using Mass Migration to ‘Replace' Native Europeans
[Breitbart] A study claims that up to a quarter of the French population not only believe in a conspiracy of "elites" but also think those same elites are using mass migration to replace European populations.

The study, released by Jean-Jaurès Foundation and Conspiracy Watch, is the second of its kind and looks at the extent to which the French believe in various so-called conspiracy theories.

The study found that 27 per cent of French believe in an "Illuminati" of elites who control the population while one quarter say they believe in the theory of the "Great Replacement," Le Point reports.

The theory of the Great Replacement was coined by French writer Renaud Camus and encompasses several subjects under the broad scope of interchangeability and exchangeability, from goods and services to people themselves.

Mr Camus spoke to Breitbart London at the beginning of the Yellow Vest protests, which have continued for the past 12 weeks, and claimed much of the origins of the movement lie in his theory.

Map shows where in the world the US military is at war. When will we stop?
[SmithsonianMag] This map is the most comprehensive depiction in civilian circles of U.S. military and government antiterrorist actions overseas in the past two years. To develop it, my colleagues and I at Brown University’s Costs of War Project at the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs, along with Smithsonian magazine, combed through U.S. and foreign government sources, published and unpublished reports, military websites and geographical databases; we contacted foreign embassies in the U.S. and the military’s United States Africa Command; and we conducted interviews with journalists, academics and others. We found that, contrary to what most Americans believe, the war on terror is not winding down‐it has spread to more than 40 percent of the world’s countries. The war isn’t being waged by the military alone, which has spent $1.9 trillion fighting terrorism since 2001. The State Department has spent $127 billion in the last 17 years to train police, military and border patrol agents in many countries and to develop antiterrorism education programs, among other activities.

Because we have been conservative in our selections, U.S. efforts to combat terrorism abroad are likely more extensive than this map shows. Even so, the vast reach evident here may prompt Americans to ask whether the war on terror has met its goals, and whether they are worth the human and financial costs.
Jesus, what are we doing? Get out! We're not the fucking world police. We need to spend this wealth on ourselves, not on a war that has no victory condition and no end.

Gaza's abandoned children: Palestinians leaving their babies at border
[Ynet] Israel warns of 'unacceptable phenomenon' developing along Gazoo frontier that sees parents leave their children with total strangers after undergoing medical treatment, so they themselves can remain in Israel illegally.

A worrying phenomenon appears to have developed on the border with the Gazoo Strip that sees parents of children taken to Israel for medical treatment abandon their offsprings in order to remain in the country as illegal residents.

According to the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), Israeli soldiers find abandoned Gazook children brought to Israel by their parents for medical treatment several times a months. This occurrence began a few months ago is not showing signs of slowing down.

As recently as two days ago, a four-year-old boy was abandoned by his father at the Erez border crossing in the northern Gazoo Strip. The child, who was abandoned after receiving medical treatment in Israel, had been left with a complete stranger on the Gazoo side of the border, while his father chose to remain illegally on Israeli territory.

"The parent who was supposed to accompany his child and provide him with a sense of security chose to remain in Israel as an illegal resident and send his child back to Gazoo alone, without any familiar faces leading him home," COGAT said.

"This is an unacceptable phenomenon. As a father myself, I do not understand how a parent abandons his child and leaves him in the hands of a stranger without worrying about his welfare and safety," said the head of the Coordination and Liaison Administration in Gazoo, Col. Iyad Sarhan.

"Those who choose to stay in Israel are violating the conditions of their entry permits. As a human being and as a father, I hope that this phenomenon will stop and the residents of Gazoo will start prioritizing their children above everything else," Col. Iyad Sarhan added.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
'Death to America' aimed at Trump, not American nation, Iran leader says
Khamenei seen holding joint Clinton-Obama-Brennan memo:
[Reuters] DUBAI (Reuters) - Iranians will chant "Death to America" as long as Washington continues its hostile policies, but the slogan is directed at President Donald Trump and U.S. leaders, not the American nation, Iran’s supreme leader said on Friday.

"As long as America continues its wickedness, the Iranian nation will not abandon ’Death to America’," Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told a gathering of Iranian Air Force officers marking the 40th anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, according to his official website.

Trump pulled out of Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal with world powers last year and re-imposed sanctions on Tehran, dealing a blow to the country’s economy.

"’Death to America’ means death to Trump, (National Security Adviser) John Bolton, and (Secretary of State Mike) Pompeo. It means death to American rulers," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

European signatories of the nuclear deal have been trying to save the accord, but Khamenei said they could not be trusted.

"I recommend that one should not trust the Europeans just as the Americans," Khamenei said. "We don’t say, don’t have contacts with them, but it’s an issue of trust."

The European Union has stepped up criticism of Iran’s ballistic missiles program while remaining committed to the 2015 nuclear deal.

Images suggest Iran has attempted second satellite launch
[IsraelTimes] US and Israel say Tehran’s space program a cover for ballistic missile development; Iran has not acknowledged conducting fresh launch after previous effort failed to reach orbit.

Iran appears to have attempted a second satellite launch despite US criticism that its space program helps it develop ballistic missiles, satellite images released Thursday suggest. Iran has not acknowledged conducting such a launch.

Images released by the Colorado-based company DigitalGlobe show a rocket at the Imam Khomeini Space Center in Iran’s Semnan province on Tuesday. Images from Wednesday show the rocket was gone with what appears to be burn marks on its launch pad.

Iranian state media did not immediately report on the rocket launch, though such delays have happened in previous launches.

Iran has said it would launch its Doosti, or "Friendship," satellite. A launch in January failed to put another satellite, Payam or "Message," into orbit.

DigitalGlobe analysts said the images from Tuesday suggest Iran used a Safir, or "ambassador," rocket in the launch. In the January launch, engineers used a Simorgh, or "phoenix," rocket. It wasn’t immediately clear what prompted the rocket choice.

The Doosti, a remote-sensing satellite developed by engineers at Tehran’s Sharif University of Technology, was to be launched into a low orbit.

The US alleges such launches defy a UN Security Council resolution calling on Iran to undertake no activity related to ballistic missiles capable of delivering nuclear weapons.

In January, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu alleged the first Iranian launch was actually "the first stage of an intercontinental missile" Iran is developing in violation of international agreements.

Israel said to find new Iranian precision missile factory in northwest Syria
[IsraelTimes] Tehran reportedly rebuilds facility previously bombed by IAF in different location, bypassing international sanctions with help from Syrian government and terror group Hezbollah.

Israel has discovered a new ambitious precision missile factory being constructed by Iran in Syria together with the Syrian government and Lebanese terror group Hezbollah, after Israel bombed and destroyed a previous one, an Israeli TV network reported Thursday evening.

The report on Channel 12 said the new factory was recently built near the northwestern city of Safita in hopes that Israel wouldn’t discover it in the location, which is far from previous Iranian sites struck by Israel elsewhere in Syria. The factory is intended to focus on producing precision missiles, dramatically upgrading the threat to Israel from the vast arsenal of rockets and missiles deployed against it in southern Leb by Iran’s proxy, Hezbollah.

To build it, Channel 12 reported, Iran had to bypass international sanctions on its missile program via a series of straw companies established by Syria’s Scientific Studies and Research Center (SSRC), a government agency that manufactures weaponry and whose facilities have repeatedly been targeted by Israel in the past.

Those companies ‐ established specifically for that purpose ‐ ordered missile parts from Italia, China and other countries in eastern Asia, the report said. The companies are named the Organization of Technological Industries (OTI) and ANAS Group, according to the report.

Israel has nevertheless discovered, tracked and uncovered the facility, the network said, as part of its effort to thwart Iran’s military entrenchment in Syria.

Israel says it has carried out hundreds of Arclight airstrikes on Iranian-linked targets as part of a campaign to prevent Tehran from establishing a military presence in Syria.

The previous Israeli airstrike on a precision missile factory in Syria occurred in September, when Syrian air defenses shot down a Russian military aircraft, killing all 15 servicemen aboard.

Russia claims jihadists preparing new provocation in Idlib
[ALMASDARNEWS] Russia is registering terrorists’ preparations in Syria for large-scale military provocations in the province of Idlib, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.

The diplomat pointed to the incessant raids by holy warriors of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham
group (one of the names of the Jabhat al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
terrorist grouping outlawed in Russia) against Syrian troops in the province of Idlib. Overnight to February 5, the bully boyz launched a series of offensives on the positions of the government forces in the area of Aleppo, she said.

"Over the past week alone, the Russian side has registered 35 such cases while the forces of Evil are not only shelling neighboring districts but are also preparing full-fledged offensive operations," the spokeswoman said.

"According to incoming information, late in January, al-Nusra bully boyz turned to their so-called allies from the Hora al-Din grouping and the Turkistan Islamic Party [the murderous Moslem organization consisting of Uyghur mercenaries] operating in Idlib with a call to start joint preparations for the possible launch of a large-scale military operation," the diplomat said.

As the spokeswoman stressed, the bully boyz aim to establish control of the entire de-escalation zone in Idlib.

"It is obvious that the terrorists’ intended goal is to gain control of the entire Idlib de-escalation zone," she noted.

"According to incoming information, they are planning to set up a single operational headquarters with the centralized command to comprise field commanders of all the illegal armed formations active in the zone," the spokeswoman said.

Moscow notes with alarm that the bully boyz are storing up chemical warfare agents along the entire line of engagement with the Syrian troops while the White Helmets are rendering active support to the bully boyz in that, the diplomat noted.
