New Law Requires You To Listen To Greta Thunberg Lecture Before Purchasing Gasoline
[Babylon Bee] U.S.‐A series of new bills working their way through state legislatures in New York, California, Oregon, Hawaii, and several other progressive states will require you to listen to a Greta Thunberg lecture before purchasing gasoline.

Motorists will be required to watch a 20-minute lecture by the 16-year-old climate activist before they purchase gallons and gallons of harmful fossil fuels.

"We want to make sure drivers are informed," said California Governor Gavin Newsom, who says he will sign the bill into law. "So we are having them get lectured by a 16-year-old so they will have all the facts before they do something rash like put gasoline in their cars to go to work."

Once the driver has listened to Thunberg's entire lecture, they will be prompted to complete a quick, fifteen-question quiz to show they understand how horrible they are for driving a car. Drivers who get at least 80% will then be allowed to refuel their vehicles. As they refuel, the screen will simply play a clip of Thunberg saying, "How dare you!" over and over again.

The law will not apply to celebrities purchasing jet fuel.

Biden, son could be forced to testify in Trump impeachment trial
[Washington Times] Former Vice President Joseph R. Biden and his son Hunter could be forced to testify if the Senate ends up holding an impeachment trial of President Trump, say congressional aides who questioned whether Democrats have thought through the full implications of their impeachment drive.

Not only could Mr. Biden be forced to be in D.C. at a critical moment in the presidential campaign, but so could many of his chief rivals ‐ the half-dozen senators also vying for Democrats’ presidential nomination, impeachment experts said.

For that matter, if the House chooses to impeach Mr. Trump on charges stemming from the special counsel’s Russia investigation, aides said it could open the door to witnesses such as fired FBI Agent Peter Strzok or even major figures from the Obama administration.

Mr. Trump could even be present for the entire spectacle. Experts said the Senate would have a hard time refusing him if he demanded to confront the witnesses against him.

"I don’t think the Dems have thought this through at all," one staffer told The Washington Times.

#3  I don't think the House Dems want a real impeachment since it would shine the spotlight on the Dem corruption and illegal activities in Ukraine as well as at home. They just want to have the illusion of an impeachment and drag it out to election time if they can. They don't want the Biden stuff to come out. One of Hunters partners in his Ukraine business was Whitey Bulger's nephew. The DNC's role in Ukraine would come out as well as Obama's role in this corruption. NancyPs son seems to have had some role in Ukraine's energy industry also.

After Trump, We're Next
[American Thinker] The Democrats in 2016 graciously gave Americans the opportunity to do as we were told and vote for Hillary Clinton. And just as we so many times disappointed Barack Obama, we failed them as well, proving our illegitimacy as a citizenry.

Electing Trump was the last straw for them ‐ plastic, of course, paper is for us rabble. They used to want only our money, but since we elected Trump, they’ve decided to come for everything else we enjoy as free citizens of the Republic.

Trump is all that stands between the America we cherish and the left’s policies for "fundamentally transforming the United States of America." They know that for us, 2020 is a "Flight 93" election and impeaching Trump on what is the thinnest of gruel, and arguably the finest example of projection today, is a last-ditch effort to either depose him or damage him enough politically to make him unelectable come next November.

With the media, their unctuous allies in scurrility, the left knows every specious allegation will be portrayed as fact in every article, on every news panel, and in every talking-head utterance. It used to be the "big lie." Now it is a million little lies told by a camarilla of politicians and skirling media that they hope will rid the left of their Orange Man bane.

The left must make sure that someone like Trump never happens again, should they succeed at deposing Trump, or better yet, damaging him to the point where he loses in 2020, for defeating him at the polls can be trumpeted as the "will of the people."

They will take our citizenship. Citizens have the right to vote and that is something they can’t fully rig until they accumulate enough power to implement democracy as Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan understands democracy: "One election, once." Instead, they are honing the art of cheating and weakening election integrity efforts while flooding the country with enough illegal aliens to negate our vote and guarantee eternal leftist primacy. In short, they will replace us with a more compliant citizenry.

#2  The Democrats know the American Public realize they have nothing to offer. They know they can't expect to win in 2020. They are bankrupt of ideas. The Democratic lineup are unelectable. Biden is a senile corrupt politician. Warren is hated by Wall Street and can expect nothing from there. The rest are a bunch of Squirrels on Meth. They haven't a prayer. The "impeachment" gambit is all the Democrats have...and its a hoax the MSMedia is suckasucking with as if it were not total Lies. The MS Media are buttboys and nothing they say is the real world.
Congress is Democrats who are not interested in solutions or in helping the American citizenry with its problems. They have sold us for their own phony coin. Let me be the first to say it unless you have already figured it out. The Democrats are not your friends. They are looking to queer you and keep it for themselves.
They will look for Republicans with Linguini for a spine and herd these valueless weasels into a circle of yes men and then say its a bi-partisan legitimate vote....they don't need to indict or PROVE Trump is impeached on any actual evidence. Hoax in the Media will do.Baloney and BS for headlines. Talking heads to the Front. Breathless at 7 o'clock.
Trump WILL win in a landslide. Trump WILL get a second Term. Remember when Obama was the "smartest man in the room" and the "Black Messiah" ? How STUPID ARE you?
I trust the American People. Democrats ARE Garbage.

#3  They gave away the game when they came out four square for illegal immigration.

They really hate us. They hate our sons, they hate our fathers.
They hate our forefathers.
They even hate our Founding Fathers. To them, Jefferson is a monster.

These people are sick in the head. They've been possessed by a kind of mania that respects no logic or constraint, no basic decency or common sense.

The mask is off. They are motivated by hysterical hatred, and we need to administer the harshest medicine possible: destroy them at the polls in November 2020.

And again in 2022, and in every election thereafter until this swamp-fever madness is broken.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Syria Could be Turkey's Vietnam
h/t Instapundit
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s is once again threatening to invade northeastern Syria and, late Sunday night, President Donald Trump greenlighted a Turkish operation. While Erdogan has threatened to send troops into the Kurdish-governed area more than a dozen times before, this time he appears serious: His economy is teetering, he suffered a blow to his prestige when the opposition party won Istanbul twice, and he is in desperate need of a distraction.

Erdogan may talk about a terror threat emanating from northern Syria, but he has yet to prove that one exists. Quite the contrary: Not only were Syrian Kurds the most effective indigenous fighting force against the Islamic State, there is also overwhelming evidence that Turkey cooperated, profited from, and at times coordinated with Syria’s Al Qaeda affiliates and the Islamic State.

...Erdogan may be cocky, but he could be falling into a trap. Turkey’s drones may give it a qualitative military edge in mountains and rural regions but may be of substantially less utility in the northern Syrian cities if limiting collateral damage is any concerns. The Kurds have extensive experience fighting on the ground. Meanwhile, recent political purges of the Turkish military make the Turkish Army a shell of its former self.

...Even if the Turkish military makes initial gains, Erdogan’s greatest mistake may be his belief that a fight between Turkey and Syrian Kurds will remain limited to that. Turkey has engaged in proxy warfare in the Gaza Strip, Libya, and political warfare against Saudi Arabia.

...Turkish forces might march into Syria with the arrogance that the Red Army invaded Afghanistan, or the United States entered Vietnam. As both Moscow and Washington both learned, getting in was far easier than getting out.

Erdogan may believe striking a blow against Kurds while confiscating their oil is a win for Turkey, but he is wrong. He is simply opening the door for a war of attrition Turkey cannot afford and which it ultimately might lose.

What would an all-out war between Turkey and the SDF entail?
Key bits from a longer piece:
[Rudaw] According to Dr Micha’el Tanchum, a senior fellow at the Austrian Institute for Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
an and Security Studies (AIES), a large-scale Ottoman Turkish invasion "risks Ankara becoming mired in a quagmire that may also spread north of the border".

"By maintaining military positions across Syria and in Iraq, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
is stretching its need for force protection against guerrilla operations," Tanchum told Rudaw English.

Turkey has expanded its operations against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq since early 2018. It established several new forward operating bases in areas where the PKK is active. From August 2018, it has also had some success in killing senior PKK members through targeted air and dronezaps, a first in the decades-long conflict.

In May it launched Operation Claw against the group, which after three different phases is still ongoing as of writing.

Tanchum believes that a major war in northeast Syria could see a convergence of sorts, with the SDF fighting Turkey in northeast Syria while the PKK also fights Ottoman Turkish forces in southeast Turkey and possibly even in the Kurdistan Region simultaneously.

"Turkey has no shortage of adversaries who would fund and supply guerrillas for such a campaign," he said, adding that "much will depend" on what kind of arrangements Turkey has made with Russia, the Syrian regime and Iran.

"The greatest threat would be concurrent guerrilla campaigns against Turkey in northern Syria and within southern Turkey itself," he said.

Tanchum offers the precedent of youth militias in Turkey’s Kurdish regions back in 2015.

"Turkey could face another popular uprising spearheaded by similar militias in the southeast," he said.

Tanchum noted that the YPG ‐ the main component of the multiethnic SDF ‐ has had "close to a year to prepare for the eventuality of a Ottoman Turkish invasion".

"There have been reports of extensive tunnel building in northeast Syria," he said.

"Turkey’s administration of a large swath of northern Syria may prove more costly than Ankara anticipates, depending on the response of Kurds on both sides of the border."

#1  The more I read and listen, it appears that nearly all of the MSM is against Trump's annoucement of a pull-back of 50-100 advisors. The fact there is universal MSM condemnation of his decision makes a person suspicious. It seems like quite a few people would like to keep the U.S. mired in some M.E. conflict. Turkey has had a 35 year history of sparring with the far left Kurdistan Worker's Party, a part of the S.D.F.

#7  I would think that if Turkey invades Kurdish Syria they might end up with uprising in Kurdish Turkey with safe zones in Kurish Iraq.

From what I understand Demographically the Kurds will eventually replace the Turks as the majority in Anatolia. i'm not sure when but I suspect the Turks do and are hoping to solve the problem now before they are on the other side of the genocide line.

ethnic Kurds already outnumber ethnic Turks in almost all the southeast part of the country

next Presidential election is scheduled for 2023

interestingly, Erdogan's party, the AKP, aka Adalet ve Kalkınma, aka Justice and Development, has a registered membership system; in the past year they lost about 7% of their members

#10  There is a long, long history dating back for centuries of animosity and war between Russia and Turkey. They don't like each other.

It sounds like a lovely little war to stay the hell out of. We need to secure our own border before we worry about Kurds, Turks and Syrians.

VDH - The Death of American Citizenship
[National Review] Migrants from Honduras approach the U.S.-Mexico border fence in Tijuana, Mexico, December 26, 2018. (Mohammed Salem/Reuters) Open borders and sanctuary cities are blurring the distinction between illegal immigrants and Americans, and activist judges are eroding the Bill of Rights.

The American Founders institutionalized the best of a long Western tradition of representative government, with the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. These contracts outlined the rare privileges and responsibilities of new American citizens.

Yet the concept of citizenship is being assaulted on the premodern side by the legal blending of mere residency with citizenship.

Estimates on the number of
ILLEGAL ALIENS
undocumented American residents range from 11 million to more than 20 million. The undocumented are becoming legally indistinguishable from citizens and enjoy exemption from federal immigration law in some 500 sanctuary jurisdictions. An illegal resident of California will pay substantially less tuition at a California public university than will a U.S. citizen of another state.

Multiculturalism has reduced the idea of e pluribus unum to a regressive tribalism. Americans often seem to owe their first allegiance to those who look like they do. Citizens cannot even agree over once-hallowed and shared national holidays such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, and the Fourth of July.

It is eerie how such current American retribalization resembles the collapse of Rome, as Goths, Huns, and Vandals all squabbled among themselves over what was left of 1,200 years of Roman citizenship ‐ eager to destroy what they could neither create nor emulate.

We'll all be born residents, citizenship will be earned by exam, taking of oath of loyalty, and registration with the militia with the fundamental right to own and bear arms. #5  ...only you don't have to 'serve' just enroll. It's called 'skin in the game'. Of course, if you are called upon and refuse, you're shipped back to resident status (or convicted of commission of high crimes). When you are release from the militia, usually age 45 you return to resident status as well, unless you have the equivalent of a DD-214 with an original discharge status of general or honorable service. Those keep it for life unless they commit one of those high crimes thingies.

#6  Kind of ironic that the assault on citizenship is coming from the left.

Citizenship is the foundation of a democratic republic and the antidote to slavery, to monarchy, to oligarchy.

Citizenship is what the civil rights movement was all about.

Today's woke morons have no understanding of citizenship, civil rights or republican or democratic values. They're just stooges for oligarchs.
Posted by: Lex || 10/08/2019 13:13 Comments || Top||

#7  For the left, it's always been about distributing the fruits of one group's efforts to an undeserving, but malleable second group.

Only now, it's not solely about property, but the patrimony itself.

How the Hobbs Act Could Sink Joe Biden
[AmericanThinker] To say the drive-by media have circled the wagons for Joe Biden is putting it mildly. Every day, in print and on their TV broadcasts, they thunder that there is no evidence! He broke no laws when his son raked off millions of dollars from China and Ukraine for no-show jobs. Even New Jersey's most famous traffic judge seems to be confused. A guy in Ukraine also posits that Biden broke no laws there, either, as if there were really any laws to break in that wild West corruption show.

But as an American lawyer, who often has to advise public officials on state and federal ethics laws, I can say yes, just by the public record we already have, Joe Biden, his son, their bag-man Devon Archer, and possibly John Kerry likely violated 18 USC 1951, the dreaded Hobbs Act, the federal anti-extortion law. Hobbs has a really nasty bite to it for public officials, because it prohibits not just bribery, but merely the collecting of political tribute under color of official right.

A couple of important things to remember about Hobbs: "Color of official right" applies only to public officials while they are in office. This guy, for example, is very confused, mixing up Jeb Bush's sleazy fundraising while out of office with Hillary's activities in and out of office. It would apply to Hillary, for example, only during the time she was secretary of state. Also, the illegal payoff money can go to a close relative or associate, or even a charity, if there is enough of a connection to the accused, like the Clinton Foundation scam. Anybody assisting the public official in the pay-offs would also be guilty of conspiracy, at the very least.
