#1  Well that should do it! This killing will surely put us over the top and eliminate the need for an 18th year or war on top of the 17 unsuccessful years we've already done. Victory is just around the corner!

What's that you say? This war is hugely profitable and will never be allowed to end? Not today, not tomorrow, not in 50 years? We don't even have e defined victory condition? Gosh, it's like the entire objective in the first place was never to win. It would be like the Left admitting racism has been solved.

"Gentlemen, we must protect our phoney baloney jobs! Harrumph harrumph!"

#2  The only reason this conflict has dragged on so long is because of half measures. Half measures necessary to protect your precious collaterals. It's a conundrum. How does one decisively end a war ? With overwhelming force and an attack which shatters the spirit of the enemy. Why can't we do it ? We value our humanity.

Taliban Takes 25 Members Of Peace Movement Apparently For Talks
Children’s Crusade redux accomplishes inevitable result:
[ToloNews] At least 25 members of the People’s Peace Movement have been taken by the Taliban probably for talks about issues around the Afghan peace process, one member of the movement confirmed on Sunday.

The 50-member peace convoy began their journey to Taliban-influenced areas in southern Helmand province on Thursday, May 31.

According to one member of the movement, they will meet the Taliban in Musa Qala district – which has been under Taliban influence for the past four years.

Pacha Khan Mawladad, a member of the People’s Peace Movement, says Taliban has taken another 20 members of the movement at around 5pm on Monday. He says this is concerning and that they have no idea whether the Taliban has taken the activists for talks.

The four members who will talk with the Taliban are head of the movement Iqbal Khyber, spokesman of the movement Bismillah Watandost, and two senior members of the movement Ghulam Sarwar Ghafari and Haji Farhad Adil.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said they are not aware of the issue but they will comment on it after their assessments.

Members of the movement on Friday said that they will pass on the message of peace to the Taliban and will take the message of locals to the world.

“It will take six days to reach Musa Qala district and there we will meet with the residents and will listen to them and pass on their message to the world,” said Iqbal Khyber, head of the movement.

“So far, peace message was not delivered to areas under Taliban influence but now we want to do this,” said Ghulam Sarwar Ghafari, a member of the movement.

THE HELMAND PEACE CONVOY
The People’s Peace Movement, also called the Helmand Peace Convoy, initially started their activities when a group of at least a dozen activists staged a protest in Lashkargah City last year in March 2018 against an attack that killed around 16 people that month. About a month later, the activists left Helmand on foot for Kabul.

The activists walked through towns and villages, crossed provinces and met with local residents along the way. For 38 days, they walked and as they progressed, so their numbers grew.

About 700kms later, the group of eight had grown to an estimated 100. They arrived in Kabul on June 18 and handed over demands for a ceasefire and peace to both the Afghan government and the Taliban.

During their stay in Kabul, they held sit-in protests outside diplomatic offices in Kabul. They also met with President Ghani on a Kabul street where they asked him to accelerate the peace efforts.

The activists, whose ages ranged from 17 to 65, came from all walks of life and include students, athletes and farmers among others. It was these and other activists that then extended their walk from Kabul to Balkh.

#2  Actually, so far 27 men and 9 women from India have been rubbed out in Af, by US and Af forces. With great thanks and blessings from Indians.

Several went to join the IS. All reported having been treated as janitors and masturbatory aids by their 'heroes'. Some even called Ma and Pa back home to beg the foreign office to rescue them when they didn't get the Mad Max adventure they went for.

Rather than report their ignominious existence truthfully, some reveled in servitude, signed their letters to prospective recruits using suffixes like 'Al-Hindi', 'Emir of whatever', etc.

In reality, he was no leader. Just another fool sitting at a terminal and writing messages to recruits, making posters and e-mail threats for the real leaders.

Islamic State claims deadly attack in east Congo's Ebola zone

grabbed credit on Tuesday for a deadly overnight attack in an area of eastern Congo hit by an Ebola epidemic, although its account of the violence differed from local reports.

The deputy mayor of Beni in the eastern Democratic of Congo said 13 non-combatants were killed late on Monday in an attack by the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) - a group thought to be linked to Islamic State.

"The victims were killed by bullets and others by bladed weapons," Mayor Modeste Bakwanamaha told Rooters.

In a statement on the messaging website Telegram, Islamic State said it was behind the attack. It said it had targeted the Congolese army in Beni, killing or wounding 25 people.

The bloodshed added to widespread insecurity that has hampered efforts to contain the second-worst Ebola epidemic on record. The number of cases hit 2,000 this week as the rate of infection accelerated.

Bakwanamaha said the latest violence was likely a response to a crackdown by the Congolese army last week that killed 26 ADF members after they attacked an army position in Ngite.

The ADF has never claimed allegiance to Islamic State, but Islamic State said last Thursday its 'Central Africa Province' affiliate had inflicted "dozens of casualties" on Congolese forces, according to the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors online jihadist activity.

Saudi officials arrest over 60 people for supporting Palestinian Hamas movement
Absolutely fascinating.
[PRESSTV] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
n authorities have reportedly nabbed
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
more than 60 people, including Paleostinians and Saudis, on charges of supporting the Paleostinian Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbung millipede, resistance movement.

Lebanese Arabic-language daily newspaper al-Akhbar, citing informed sources who requested anonymity, reported on Monday that officials in the conservative kingdom have been conducting a campaign against Saudi nationals and Paleostinian expatriates for more than two months, detaining dozens of people over affiliation to the Paleostinian group.

The report added that the most prominent figure among those arrested is Dr. Muhammad al-Khudari, who represented Hamas movement between mid-1990s and 2003 in Saudi Arabia.

Even though Khudari has left his position for years, he was detained and is now "being kept in detention under difficult conditions," according to family members.

Al-Ahbar went on to say that the campaign of arrests coincided with the closure and tight control of bank accounts, and a ban on sending any money from Saudi Arabia to the Gazoo Strip.

Saudi officials have apparently leveled charges of "supporting a terrorist movement and money laundering in support of terrorism and extremism" against those arrested.

The Grand Turk
Operation Claw: Turkey’s PKK offensive enters second week
[Rudaw] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
claims to have "neutralized" dozens of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) guerrillas since festivities escalated this week on Mount Khakurk, Kurdistan Region. The PKK says it has killed at least a dozen Ottoman Turkish soldiers in the last four days.

Turkey launched Operation Claw on May 27, targeting PKK positions inside the Kurdistan Region, close to its border with Turkey and Iran.

Hukusi Akar, Turkey’s defense minister, visited Ottoman Turkish troops in the border city of Yuksekova, Hakkari province late Monday.

There, he said Ottoman Turkish soldiers are conducting "a great fight in rugged terrain" and have "neutralized" 28 PKK fighters since the offensive began, according to a ministry statement.

The Ottoman Turkish army regularly uses the term neutralized to refer to those killed, maimed, or otherwise removed from the battlefield.

A further 25 PKK fighters have been neutralized in separate Ottoman Turkish military operations in the Kurdistan Region and 11 others inside Turkey, the defense minister said, bringing the total to 64 since May 27.

The operation has utilized fixed wing aircraft, helicopters, artillery, and ground forces. It centers on Mount Khakurk in the northern part of Erbil province.

Recent footage captured by locals showed great plumes of smoke rising from the mountainside. Ankara is widely reported to have targeted PKK positions with a domestically-build ballistic missile.

In a statement published Monday, the Peoples’ Defence Forces (HPG), the armed wing of the PKK, said its fighters had killed 12 Ottoman Turkish soldiers on Mount Khakurk between May 30 and June 1.

A "considerable number" of Ottoman Turkish troops have been injured, it said, while confirming two of its fighters had been killed.

One Ottoman Turkish soldier and an unspecified number of "high-ranking soldiers" have been killed on the Ottoman Turkish side of the border in the most recent PKK attacks, the HPG said.

The PKK, an gang fighting for greater political and cultural rights for Kurds in Turkey, has fought a decades-long war with the Ottoman Turkish state.

The group uses the Kurdistan Region of Iraq as a safe haven. It is currently headquartered in the Qandil Mountains.

Turkey has repeatedly launched cross-border incursions and bombing raids targeting the group in violation of Iraq’s illusory sovereignty.

Civilians are routinely caught in the crossfire. Villagers in Duhok stormed a Ottoman Turkish air force outpost in January after Arclight airstrikes killed six civilians.

Both Erbil and Baghdad have called on Ankara to halt its attacks and demanded the PKK withdraw from their territory.

Iraqi President Barham Salih "stressed the need to safeguard Iraqi illusory sovereignty and rejected any unilateral military action beyond Iraq’s borders," when he met with his Ottoman Turkish counterpart Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First

ISIS claims killing of Iraqi Army soldiers north of Baghdad

[Rudaw] Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) killed three "terrorists" after a patrol with the 59th Brigade was ambushed in a town in southern Anbar on Tuesday morning, the Iraqi Security Media Cell has announced.

The Iraqi Army said it came under a surprise attack, near the town of Tarmiya, around 25 kilometers north of Baghdad. The Islamic State (ISIS) also claimed responsibility for the attack.

ISF stated it was conducting a patrol for "terrorist elements," when one of its vehicles was targeted by an improvised-bomb (IED). That led to an exchange of gunfire that killed four ISF members and maimed four others as the Iraqi forces received reinforcements.

ISF's media cell also reported that the Iraqi forces were from Anbar.

An ISIS propaganda group on Telegram claimed the attack, saying they led an ambush with a roadside kaboom and later used gunfire.

"All terrorist elements were killed," stated the ISF. It detailed that after the deaths of the "three terrorists" follow-up investigations will continue.

The town of Tarmiya in Anbar ‐ Iraq's largest province ‐ lies on the border with Baghdad province.

To the east, the Lions of Islam have targeted civilians in a Ramadan bombing in Kirkuk city on Thursday night and burned thousands of dunams of crop fields in and around the disputed province throughout May.

Abdul-Mahdi told his National Security Council on Sunday that better cooperation is needed between Iraqi and Peshmerga forces in the disputed areas like Kirkuk. Poor relations between the government of former Iraqi PM Nouri al-Maliki and provincial officials set the conditions for ISIS to control about a quarter of Iraq in 2014 as they threatened to overrun Iraq and Kurdistan Region's capitals.

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) ‐ Six Iraqi coppers were killed Tuesday while on mission to arrest perpetrators of a terrorist attack in Salahuddin province.

Three of the attackers were killed in the operation as well, it added.

(IS) krazed killer group, in most cases, is responsible for attacks targeting security forces across Iraq.

Between June 2014 and December 2017, the Islamic State group controlled 88,000 sq km of territory stretching from western Syria to eastern Iraq, imposing its brutal rule on almost eight million people.

The krazed killer group secured billions of dollars in revenue from oil, extortion, robbery and kidnapping.

PA stops Islamist group from performing holiday prayers in Hebron mosque
[IsraelTimes] Crackdown comes as Hizb al-Tahrir supporters mark Eid al-Fitr on Monday, contradicting PA-appointed grand mufti of Jerusalem; social media pictures appear to show use of force.
I had no idea Hizb-ut-Tahrir was active in the Israeli area.
Pictures and videos posted on social media appeared to show PA security security forces detaining Hizb al-Tahrir supporters in the area around the al-Abrar Mosque and employing force against some of them.

Hizb al-Tahrir, which supports the establishment of a caliphate ruled by Islamic law, declared on Monday that Eid al-Fitr, the holiday marking the conclusion of Ramadan, would start that evening, contradicting Mohammed Hussein, the PA-appointed grand mufti of Jerusalem who had announced that the festival would commence Tuesday night.

"Supporters and members of Hizb al-Tahrir tried to carry out holiday prayers in the al-Abrar Mosque in Hebron, but our security forces stopped them from doing so," the bigwig, who works at PA headquarters in Hebron, said. "While they can do what they want in their homes, they do not have the right to use a mosque to revolt against the official Paleostinian position on when Eid al-Fitr starts."

According to Islamic tradition, Eid al-Fitr starts upon the first sighting of the new moon following the month of Ramadan. Hizb al-Tahrir declared that Eid al-Fitr would start Monday evening after a number of Moslem-majority countries, including Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
, announced that it would begin at that time.

The Islamist group maintains that even if one Moslem-majority country declares it has seen the new moon, all Moslems should begin celebrating Eid al-Fitr.

Baher Saleh, an official in Hizb al-Tahrir’s media office, declined to comment on Tuesday’s incident, noting that his group does not communicate with Israeli news outlets.

However,
it's easy to be generous with someone else's money...
he told Rooters that PA security forces placed in durance vile
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
13 persons in the area surrounding the mosque.

The Hebron-based official accused Hizb al-Tahrir of declaring the start of the holiday Monday evening to undermine the PA.

"What they did was a political move," he said. "They did that to undermine the PA’s illusory sovereignty, which is something we cannot tolerate."

Jihad Harb, a Ramallah-based researcher, said that the PA sometimes cracks down on Hizb al-Tahrir’s activities.

"There have been occasions when the PA did not allow Hizb al-Tahrir to hold public gatherings, but there have been many other occasions when it permitted it to do so," he said, adding that PA security forces do not have major concerns about Hizb al-Tahrir because its members have not used violence to achieve their goals.

Hizb al-Tahrir was established in 1953 by Taqi al-Din al-Nabhani, a Moslem scholar and Islamic court judge who was born in the Haifa area.

Omran Risheq, a Paleostinian analyst, described the group’s ideology in a 2008 article published by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace: "Hizb al-Tahrir made the idea of resurrecting the caliphate a permanent watchword of its political activity and a religious duty, in addition to being a panacea for the political, economic, and social problems of the world’s Moslems."

Harb also said that Hizb al-Tahrir does not have many members compared to other Paleostinian groups, such as Fatah.

"Most of their members live in Hebron and Jerusalem," he said, estimating that some 5,000-7,000 Paleostinians actively support it.

#1  not a trivial issue if you buy the theology and the religious response to the theology

if you celebrate Eid al Fitr too early you are celebrating when you should be contemplating and fasting and this would add to your punishment in purgatory/hell

Syrian air defenses intercept, shoot down terrorist drones in Hama
[PRESSTV] Syrian air defense systems have intercepted and shot down a squadron of unmanned aerial vehicles launched by foreign-sponsored Takfiri militants in the country’s western-central province of Hama.

The Arabic service of Russia's Sputnik news agency, citing an unnamed Syrian military source, reported late on Tuesday that Syrian army reconnaissance teams were able to detect a number of aircraft as they were approaching a helipad of a government military site in Jubb Ramlah village, located about 189 kilometers (118 mi) north of the capital Damascus.
