Texas man busted hauling $13M in cocaine through Indiana in record seizure, authorities say
[FoxNews] A Texas man arrested in Indiana last month was hauling 130 kilos of suspected cocaine on I-70 in what local authorities called the largest seizure in decades.
Maybe it won't be a white Christmas
Mauro Alonzo-Vargas, 50, of Ennis, Texas, was stopped driving the semi on Nov. 30 after investigators acted on a tip that a shipment of drugs would be passing through Marion County, the Indianapolis Metro Police Department said Tuesday.

Detectives deployed narcotics K-9 Mina who alerted authorities to a positive odor of drugs on the semi-tractor and trailer.

Investigators then located approximately 130 kilos of suspected cocaine, with an estimated street value of $13 million, police said.

"This is the largest seizure I’ve seen since I’ve been doing this work," Sgt. Paul McDonald, who has served with the department’s drug interdiction unit for 22 years, told FOX59 Indianapolis. "We’ve had some significant seizures, but this is the largest."

While police said Alonzo-Vargas told officers that he planned to make what he described as a legitimate delivery in Plainfield, Indiana, the destination of the drugs was unclear, the station reported.

"When you’re talking 130 kilos of cocaine, that’s a significant seizure no matter where you are," Mike Gannon, DEA assistant special agent in charge, told the outlet. "You know how many drug suppliers could be moving that on the streets in all different communities?"

Alonzo-Vargas was booked into the Hendricks County Jail on a $20,000 cash bond.

#1  I'll check but $13 million/130 = $100k/key. Sounds high (get it..) by a factor of 3 or 4.

By the time it would have hit the street it may have been stepped on as much as 20x.
So pricing projects this would have gone to distributors at 4x.

Afghanistan
Daily Evacuation Brief December 8, 2022
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS

  • PUBLIC EXECUTION IN FARAH – In what is being billed as the first public execution approved by the Taliban, a man was put to death in Farah. Most expected capital punishment (executions) to be reinstated immediately in the aftermath of the Taliban takeover. Many observers have opined the Taliban wanted to gain surer footing before bringing them back. Our analysis indicates that this first execution will likely cause a rash of public executions across the country to be carried out. Taliban zealots among the judiciary in other provinces will want to show public support for the new measure and send signals to Kabul and Kandahar of their fealty and support. More executions are likely over the coming month. International legal bodies have quickly condemned the executions and are concerned that prisoners will not receive due process from Taliban courts.

  • IRANIAN SECURITY FORCES OPEN FIRE ON A TRUCK CARRYING AFGHAN REFUGEES IN WESTERN IRAN – 17 People were reportedly killed and/or wounded when Iranian Army soldiers opened fire on a vehicle that was transporting Afghan refugees in the Sistan-Baluchistan Province. The vehicle failed to stop for a security inspection and there are rumors the owner of the vehicle has long been involved in smuggling people. The Afghan refugees were not thought to have been specifically targeted. No further information was available.

  • CLEARING OPERATION IN KABUL – Taliban security forces were witnessed carrying out an operation in Police District 10 of Kabul yesterday. Approximately 30 Taliban vehicles and about 100 police and fighters descended on the Shar-e-Naw neighborhood. The streets were blocked and house-to-house searches were observed. An unconfirmed report said that three people with hoods over their heads were led away by agents of the GDI. It is not currently known what the target of the operation was and no further information was available.

  • RESISTANCE FORCES AND TALIBAN CLASH - After weeks of limited activity, two separate operations were reported in Northern Afghanistan. See the Conflict Tracker below for details.

CONFLICT TRACKER
Takhar: NRF forces ambushed a vehicle carrying Qari Abdullah (aka Qari Ilyas) yesterday evening in Rostaq district of the province, No word has been received about the results of the operation as of publication.
Badakhshan: Taliban security for rs attacked the base of Commander Qadir in Arghanjkah. 5 Talib fighters were killed and 6 were wounded in the fighting. The base remains under control of the NRF.

NEXT 24 HOURS
SECURITY OPERATION SCHEDULED FOR POLICE DISTRICT 4 OR 5 – A source in the Police said that a ‘clearing operation’ focused on finding 4 ISIS-K members will be carried out in one of these districts today. The group is thought to be managing communications for the different ISIS-K cells in Kabul and possibly Kandahar. At-risk Afghan should not face any risk from this operation but are advised to depart any area of Taliban troop/police concentrations and be watchful of high-speed traffic around the city if the suspects are located.

Seven killed in north Afghanistan as blast hits vehicle with oil workers
[DAILYTIMES.PK] At least seven people were killed in Afghanistan on Tuesday when a blast hit a vehicle carrying oil workers in the northern province of Balkh, while another blast in the eastern city of Jalalabad injured six people.

"Today at around 7am a blast took place in... Balkh on a bus which belonged to Hairatan oil employees," said Mohammad Asif Wazeri, police spokesperson for the northern province.

At least six people were maimed, he said.

Balkh province is home to one of Afghanistan’s main dry ports in the town of Hairatan, near the border with Uzbekistan, which has rail and road links to Central Asia.

Wazeri said Balkh police were searching for a culprit behind the earth-shattering kaboom on the vehicle. It was not clear who the employees on the bus worked for.

Another blast later in the day near the money exchange market in Jalalabad injured six people, according to police in Nangahar province.
Update from Tolo News at 10:35 p.m. ET:
Mohammad Asif Waziri, a spokesman for the security department of Balkh, said that an explosion targeting a car carrying employees of the Department of Mines and Petroleum occurred in PD3 of Mazar-e-Sharif, leaving seven people dead and six wounded.

According to Waziri, the explosion was a roadside bomb.

“A blast occurred in PD3 of Mazar city. Unfortunately, the explosion hit a car carrying (Mines and Petroleum) Department employees while they were going to their jobs. According to the most recent information from the hospital, 7 people were killed, and 6 others are wounded,” Mohammad Asif Waziri, a spokesman of the Balkh security department, told TOLOnews.

However, officials at the provincial hospital said that they received eight dead bodies and nine wounded.

“Eight dead bodies and nine wounded people have been brought to the state hospital from today’s blast,” said Najibullah Tawana, head of the hospital.

No one has claimed responsibility for the blast.

Arabia
Islah Party militias reinforce positions in Hadhramaut
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The city of Seiyun and its surroundings witnessed a heavy military deployment of recruits from the "135th Brigade", which is belonging to the Islah Party in several areas of the city, Hadhramaut governorate, eastern Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
This deployment comes hours after Rashad al-Alimi, the head of the so-called "Riyadh-Formed Presidential Council," issued a decision to dismiss the military leader affiliated with Islah, "Yahya Abu Auja" from his position as the Chief of Staff of the First Military Region" and appoint in his place Brigadier General "Ameer Abdullah Mohammed bin Hatyan".

Local residents confirmed that forces of "First Military Region" supported by military, armored vehicles and tanks deployed heavily in the streets and neighborhoods of the city of Seiyun and closed the entrances and exits of the city following after the dismissal of "Abu Auja" from his post in the First Region and keep him as commander of the "135th Armored Brigade".

Residents pointed out that the security and military situation in the city of Seiyun and its suburbs is witnessing a state of tension and unprecedented military deployment in the city, which portends an expected military festivities between the elements of the coalition’s factions, similar to the scenario of bloody conflicts in the governorates of Shabwah and Abyan
...a governorate of Yemen. The region was a base to the Aden-Abyan Islamic Army terrorist group until it dropped the name and joined al-Qaeda. Its capital is Zinjibar. In March 2011, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula declared the governate an Islamic Emirate after seizing control of the region. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues...

PKK claims to have dead body of Turkish soldier, ready to hand over
[Rudaw] The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) claimed on Wednesday that it has the dead body of a Ottoman Turkish soldier who has recently gone missing in the Kurdistan Region. The group added that it is ready to hand over the body to his family, if requested.

Omer Faruk Gergerlioglu, politician from the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), said in a tweet on November 20 that the uncle of a Ottoman Turkish soldier, Mustafa Bazna, had asked him to help the family find out about the fate of the soldier "who we have not heard from for 15 days." The politician also cited the family as saying that they had been told by Ottoman Turkish authorities that Bazna could have been lost, killed or taken as a hostage by the PKK while on duty in the Kurdistan Region’s mountainous areas.

However,
man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them...
one of the soldier’s brothers told the Ottoman Turkish pro-government media that they had not asked for help from the HDP politician and would never do that. But the brother confirmed that Bazna had been missing, adding that they were informed by the Ottoman Turkish authorities on November 15 that they had lost contact with the soldier and "the rescue efforts were underway."

The PKK claimed on Wednesday that Bazna was killed by them near the Amedi district of Duhok province on November 3, adding that they also confiscated his military equipment and mobile phone.

"Even though there is such an inhuman enemy... we state hereby that we can deliver the body of the soldier named Mustafa Bazna to his family through civilians or non-governmental organizations, if they demand, in accordance with the moral values of humanity, common values of the peoples and the laws of war," said the PKK in a statement published by its media outlets.

PKK is an gang struggling for the increased rights of Kurds in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

. Ankara considers it a terrorist organization and often carries out military operations against it at home and in the Kurdistan Region.

Bazna went missing in the framework of the code-named Operation Claw-Lock which was launched by Ankara in April, according to Ottoman Turkish media.

The Ottoman Turkish government has not commented on Bazna’s case.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Court: Senior Hamas member released in Shalit exchange will serve out life sentence
[IsraelTimes] Nael Barghouti, who was freed in 2011 after serving 33 years and then rearrested in 2014, now found to have violated original release terms.

An Israeli court ruled on Tuesday that a senior Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, terror group member will serve out his life sentence after he was freed in a 2011 prisoner swap and later rearrested.

Nael Barghouti, 65, was one of 1,027 inmates released in exchange for Gilad Shalit, an Israeli soldier held at the time by Hamas in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip.

At the time of the exchange, Barghouti had served 33 years for participating in the 1978 killing of an Israeli bus driver, Mordechai Yekuel, making him one of the longest-held Paleostinians. He was first arrested that year, at the age of 20.

Israel has since rearrested scores of Paleostinians on charges of resuming terror activities. Several Israelis have been killed by faceless myrmidons freed in the exchange for Shalit, who had been kidnapped by Hamas in 2006.

Many of the Shalit prisoners were rounded up after three Israeli teens, Gil-ad Shaer, Eyal Yifrach and Naftali Fraenkel, were kidnapped and killed by a Hamas cell in the West Bank in 2014.

Barghouti, arrested in that sweep, subsequently served 30 months for Hamas membership. He completed the sentence on December 17, 2016, but was never released.

The Israel Defense Forces on Tuesday said a military court had reinstated Barghouti’s original sentence on appeal, life plus 18 years.

The ruling followed an appeal by military prosecutors who argued Barghouti violated the terms of his release under the Shalit deal by possessing an unspecified large sum of money, allegedly funneled by a terror group. The appeal was also discussed in May by the High Court of Justice before an appeals committee eventually ruled that Barghouti had indeed violated the terms of his release.

In 2017, the Paleostinian Prisoners Club said Israel had reinstated the sentence, but the IDF made no comment on the matter at the time.

Shots fired at military post in central West Bank, gunman shot dead — IDF
[IsraelTimes] Gunfire near settlement of Ofra comes hours after attack near another military post, amid uptick in shootings in West Bank

A Paleostinian gunman who opened fire from a passing vehicle at a military post near the West Bank settlement of Ofra on Wednesday afternoon was rubbed out following a brief chase, the military said.

It was the second shooting attack within hours, and came amid an uptick in attacks in the West Bank.

Footage published by Paleostinian media outlets purportedly showed the moment of the attack. The gunman can be seen standing outside of his vehicle firing several times toward the military post.

The Israel Defense Forces said troops returned fire before beginning a pursuit of the gunman, who expeditiously departed at a goodly pace. He was rubbed out in the nearby Paleostinian town of Dayr Dibwan.

"During the pursuit, the suspect spotted the soldiers, got out of the vehicle and fired at them. The soldiers responded with live fire and neutralized the assailant," the IDF said in a statement.

Images from the scene showed the dead gunman on the ground next to an SKS assault rifle, the gun apparently used in the attack.

The man was named by Paleostinian media as Mojahed al-Najjar, 32, a former Paleostinian prisoner in Israel.

The Paleostinian Authority Health Ministry said it was notified of al-Najjar’s death.

The IDF said it was conducting scans in the area for additional suspects.

No soldiers were hurt in the shooting attack, which came hours after Paleostinians shot at a military post close to the nearby village of Nabi Saleh in the early hours of Wednesday.

On Monday night, the same military post near Ofra was targeted by Paleostinian button men, without causing any injuries.

The military said it suspected al-Najjar was responsible for Monday’s attack, as well as other recent shootings in the area.

In a Facebook post a day before Wednesday’s shooting, al-Najjar said: "My time has come to meet Allah."

Palestinian gunmen clash with IDF in Nablus; eight terror suspects arrested
[IsraelTimes] Local terror factions claim they thwarted arrest operation in West Bank city; military reports drive-by shooting at post; Paleostinian said hurt in separate clash

Paleostinian button men clashed with Israeli troops early Wednesday in the northern West Bank city of Nablus during an attempt by the army to arrest a wanted man.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, troops operating in the city came under fire from armed Paleostinians. The IDF said the forces returned fire, and that no soldiers were hurt.

A local wing of the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
and the Nablus-based Lion’s Den terror groups said their members had shot up the Israeli troops in the area, claiming to have prevented them from conducting an arrest.

Distant gunshots could be heard in footage posted on social media.

The IDF said no suspects were detained in Nablus, but eight Paleostinians were arrested elsewhere across the West Bank, with some violent mostly peaceful incidents.

The Paleostinian Authority Health Ministry meanwhile said that a Paleostinian was hurt by Israeli troops’ gunfire in the village of Kafr Ein in the central West Bank.

The ministry said his condition was moderate to serious. There was no immediate comment from the IDF on the incident.

The IDF also reported a shooting attack on a military post close to the nearby village of Nabi Saleh in the predawn hours of Wednesday. The military said Paleostinians shot up the post from a passing vehicle, and no soldiers were hurt.

In recent months, Paleostinian button men have repeatedly targeted military posts, troops operating along the West Bank security barrier, Israeli settlements and civilians on the roads.

Late Tuesday, an IDF officer reported being shot by masked Paleostinians while driving near Zif Junction in the South Hebron Hills area of the West Bank. A security source said the suspects had used an airsoft gun, and not a real firearm.

Another Israeli man was lightly hurt by stones hurled at his car in the same area. The Magen David Adom ambulance service said it took the 19-year-old to Soroka hospital in Beersheba for further treatment.

local wing claims to attack troops who enter northern West Bank city to conduct arrests; IDF yet to comment, but no Israeli troops reported hurt

Three Paleostinians were killed during intense festivities between button men and Israeli troops in the northern West Bank city of Jenin before dawn on Thursday, Paleostinian Authority Health Ministry said.

Paleostinian media reports said the Israeli military had entered the city and the adjacent Jenin refugee camp.

A local wing of the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad terror group claimed to have opened fire on Israeli troops and hurled explosives at them.

Heavy gunfire could be heard in videos published online.

The PA Health Ministry confirmed the deaths but did not identify the victims. They were named in unconfirmed social media posts as Sidqi Zakarneh, Atta Shalabi, and Tariq al-Damej.

Images circulating online showed Zakarneh and al-Damej brandishing assault rifles, indicating they were members of local gangs.

Arabic media reports said that additional Paleostinians were maimed in the raid, without specifying further.

There was no immediate comment from Israeli security forces on the raids, and there were no immediate reports of Israeli injuries in the operation.

It was also initially unclear how many Paleostinians, if any, were arrested in the raid.

On Wednesday afternoon, a Paleostinian gunman was rubbed out after he opened fire on a military post near the settlement of Ofra, fled, and opened fire again on troops who chased after him.

The IDF has recorded around 300 shooting attacks and attempts against Israeli civilians and soldiers in the West Bank this year, compared to just 91 last year.

Michigan man indicted after accosting synagogue-goers while cursing Israel; moons judge, gets bond revoked on previous case
[IsraelTimes] Hassan Chokr charged with ’ethnic intimidation’ for allegedly yelling antisemitic and racist threats as families dropped off kids at Temple Beth El in Bloomfield Hills

A man who was waved away by local police after hassling people arriving at one of the bankrupt, increasingly impoverished, reliably Democrat, Detroit
... ruled by Democrats since 1962. A city whose Golden Age included the Purple Gang...
area’s largest synagogues on Friday was arrested Sunday on charges of "ethnic intimidation."

Hassan Chokr was arrested two days after video emerged showing local police questioning and releasing him, even after he said he intended to head to another synagogue.

Chokr had allegedly shouted antisemitic and racist threats outside at Temple Beth El, a Reform synagogue in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, as families were dropping children at the early childhood center on Friday morning. Beth El was Michigan’s first synagogue, and its architecturally significant building looms over the sprawl of Bloomfield Hills, one of Detroit’s most heavily Jewish suburbs.

"He was hostile and verbally abusive, shouting profanity about ’F Israel’ and ’F the Jews’ — and threatening people, yelling at them that if they support Israel, they will pay or he will get them," Rabbi Mark Miller, Temple Beth El’s senior rabbi, told the Detroit Free Press. Miller said Chokr also used racist language against members of the synagogue’s security team.

The incident comes amid a spate of alarming threats to synagogues in multiple states. In New Jersey last month, an 18-year-old man who had pledged allegiance to Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
was charged with making a broad threat that affected all of the state’s synagogues, while a man who allegedly posted threats to synagogues online was arrested after traveling to New York City and obtaining weapons.

"Antisemitic and racist threats or ethnic intimidation of any kind, will not be tolerated in our community," Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said in a statement announcing the charges against Chokr on Sunday. McDonald created the suburban Detroit county’s first hate crimes office last year.

The charges followed criticism of the Bloomfield Township Police Department for their handling of their first encounter with Chokr after they responded to a call from Beth El’s security director. "The subject was released from the scene pending further investigation and was advised not to return to the Temple Beth El," the department said in a statement posted to Facebook on Friday.

A video of the traffic stop filmed by a man identifying himself as Chokr and posted by the social media handle "FreedomFighterHassan" shows the encounter in more detail; the police indicated that the video was of the actual traffic stop.

In the video, Chokr tells officers that he does not have any weapons and that he was exercising his freedom of religion by asking synagogue-goers whether they support Israel. He also uses racist language to describe Black people and tells the officers that he did not want to get a Jewish lawyer, as he said some had urged him to, because "Jewish people are killing my people." Agreeing not to return to the synagogue that day, he then says, "I’m headed to another synagogue."

At the end of the traffic stop, Chokr is told he is free to go as an officer gives him a fist bump and he is told, "Do us a favor and don’t go back."

The fist-bump and seemingly genial exchange ignited concerns from local Jews and national antisemitism watchdogs concerned that officers had not responded adequately.

"As a parent of Temple Beth El, I’m beyond disappointed with the law enforcement protocol and the little action taken," one local woman commented on the police department’s first post. "Disappointed [is] an understatement."

A police department lieutenant told the Detroit Free Press about the officers’ behavior, "There are some concerns about that."

Still, the police department defended itself in a second Facebook post Sunday announcing that an arrest had been made.

"We are aware of the social media posts and videos of this traffic stop that are circulating," the statement said. "Our officers accomplished the goal of identifying the subject while using de-escalation techniques. ... We are unable to comment on specific investigative techniques, but we were able to assess that subsequent to the traffic stop the subject would not be an imminent threat to the community."

Chokr was arrested by police in his home city of Dearborn, about 30 miles from Bloomfield Hills, and will remain in jug until his arraignment on two counts of ethnic intimidation, according to the police statement and local media reports.

Dearborn man charged in antisemitic incident has bond revoked after mooning judge

[ClickOnDetroit] The Dearborn man that has been charged with ethnic intimidation after an antisemitic incident that took place at an Oakland County synagogue has had his bond revoked for another case.

On Tuesday, Hassan Chokr was in front of a Wayne County judge for an emergency bond hearing on separate charges, and Chokr sealed his own fate with another disrespectful courtroom outburst.

During the emergency bond hearing, Chokr mooned the judge who’d released him on bond two and a half years ago over a felony case in Dearborn. Mooning the judge is one of two disrespectful acts that Chokr has done within 24 hours. On Monday, the Dearborn man flipped the judge off with his middle finger.

Wayne County 3rd District Court Judge Regina Thomas released Chokr on a $10,000 bond in a case where he ended up charged with assault with a deadly weapon and assaulting a police officer.

That case, at the height of covid, came as a result of an angry outburst at the Islamic Center of America on Ford Road, where he allegedly assaulted a female volunteer and ended up with Dearborn police chasing him down the street as he carried a gun. His assaulting a police officer case has yet to go to trial.

"I understand his bond is million dollars in Oakland County. I don’t know if he can make that," said Thomas.

For Chokr’s recent case, he is facing two felony counts of ethnic intimidation and has a bond set at $1 million. The Dearborn man is to remain in Oakland County Jail.

#3  Can someone explain.
Why is it that the Democrats claim to be the party of Peace, Unity, Harmony and protectors of the Environment.

When it always seems it's their voters and allied agenda groups responsible for every riot in the last 20+ years,

Go to great efforts to instigate social divisions using groups like BLM, Anti-FA, The Reverends, DOJ, and others,

Openly spew and promote racial unrest. Pushing Black vs. White conflicts.

Demand acceptance of Sexual Oddities and even appoint them to Federal Level Offices to allow them to force their oddities on the 97% that make up the majority of society.

Are pushing for EV's, which destroy the environment in order to mine rare earth materials to build EV batteries, that will cause even more environment issues to depose of in 5 to 6 years

Plus OWN the anti-Semitic element in congress.

Yet claim MAGA is a terrorist group.

Bali bombmaker paroled; suicide bomber kills 1 in attack on police station
[BenarNews] Indonesia on Wednesday released the Bali attacks bombmaker from prison at least seven years before he served out his full 20-year sentence. A justice ministry official confirmed that Umar Patek, who assembled the bombs used in the 2002 Bali Bombings — Indonesia’s worst ever terror attack — was freed on parole in the morning.

On the same day, a former terrorism convict apparently unhappy with Indonesia’s new criminal code went kaboom! at a cop shoppe in Bandung, killing an officer and wounding 10 other people, officials said.

The bomber had been released from prison last March after serving four years for a failed suicide kaboom in 2017 that was blamed on Jamaah Ansharut Daulah
...founded by our old friend Abu Bakar Bashir of Al Qaeda-linked Jemaah Islamiyah fame, JAD translates cleverly as Partisans of the Islamic State, but really only means (Wink! Wink!) ISIS in Indonesia...
(JAD), an Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
-linked bully boy group, police said.

Umar had been associated with another bully boy group, Jemaah Islamiyah, the Southeast Asian affiliate of the al-Qaeda international terror network.

"Hisyam bin Alizein, alias Umar Patek, was released from the Surabaya Penitentiary under the parole program," said Rika Aprianti, spokesperson for the directorate general of corrections at the Law and Human Rights Ministry.

Rika said Umar had fulfilled conditions for parole, including having served two-thirds of his sentence and taking part in deradicalization programs as well as pledging allegiance to the state.

"The granting of parole was also recommended by the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) and the Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88)," Rika said in a statement, referring to the police’s elite anti-terrorism unit.

Umar has to now mandatorily join a "mentoring program" until April 2030, and his parole would be revoked if he violates it in any way, the statement said.

Umar was arrested in Pakistain in 2011 and tried in Indonesia. In 2012, instead of receiving the death penalty
, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Like other prisoners in Indonesia, Umar, too, had received a series of sentence cuts for good behavior to mark Indonesian holidays.

In August, Umar said in an interview with the prison chief that it was a "mistake" to be involved in the Oct. 12, 2002 twin bombings in Bali that killed 202 people, including 88 Australians. Indonesian authorities blamed the attack on Jemaah Islamiyah.

In 2008, Indonesian authorities executed Imam Samudra, Amrozi and Mukhlas for their roles in the bombings.

Counterterrorism officials have touted Umar as a deradicalization success story, but the news in August that he would be paroled outraged people and officials in Australia.

BOMBING KILLS POLICE OFFICER
Meanwhile,
...back at the revival hall, the SWAT team had finally arrived...
several people on social media expressed their unhappiness about Umar’s early release.

"His release today at the same time as #BomBunuhDiri #Bandung [the suicide kaboom in Bandung] actually gives a negative signal to the public and will cheer up terrorist groups," @HastoSuprayogo said on Twitter.

Police said the jacket wallah forced his way into the Astana Anyar cop shoppe in Bandung, the capital of West Java province, and set off the bomb while officers were conducting a morning roll-call.

"He was stopped by several officers, but he brandished a knife and suddenly there was a kaboom," said provincial police chief Inspector General Suntana, who uses one name.

Fingerprint and facial recognition results confirmed that the perpetrator was Agus Sujatno, national police chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo told news hounds. The 34-year-old bomber had not been successfully deradicalized, Listyo said.

Photos circulating online showed the bomber’s body parts strewn on the ground. An officer identified as Sofyan died in a hospital of his injuries.

Police seized a cycle of violence they said belonged to the bomber. The vehicle had an Islamic State logo and a piece of paper taped to the front of the vehicle that read "The Criminal Code, the law of polytheists/infidels. Wage war against Satanic law enforcers."

The attack came a day after the Indonesian parliament passed a broad new criminal code that, critics fear, would threaten civil liberties. Listyo said police also found pieces of paper at the scene scribbled with criticisms of the criminal code.

The national police have ordered stations across the country to tighten security and increase vigilance, front man Brigadier Gen. Ahmad Ramadhan said.

’WE CAN’T READ THEIR MINDS’
Nasir Abbas, a former bully boy who has worked with counter-terrorism police, said the attack was a sign that that JAD could still carry out attacks.

"This shows that the movement (JAD) still exists and is capable of getting people to carry out suicide kabooms. That’s the message," Nasir told BenarNews.

Nasir said the bomber’s supposed objection to the new criminal code was not surprising because JAD Death Eaters had always rejected Indonesian secular laws in favor of sharia.

Imron Rasyid, a security analyst at the Habibie Center think-tank, said the attack was timed with the controversy over the criminal code.

"They are taking advantage of the moment [to increase the impact of their action]," Imron told BenarNews.

Imron warned that JAD remained a major threat because the group had been recruiting while authorities were preoccupied with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Boy Rafli Amar, the head of the National Counter-terrorism Agency (BNPT), rejected suggestions that security authorities were caught off guard.

"Terrorists always look for opportunities to strike. We can’t read their minds," Boy said.

Indonesian authorities have blamed JAD for a series of attacks in Indonesia over the past six years.

These include gun and kabooms near a shopping center and a coffee shop in Central Jakarta in 2016, the first terror strike claimed by the Islamic State in Southeast Asia. The attack killed eight people including four bully boys.

JAD was also involved in suicide kabooms in 2018 in Surabaya, Indonesia’s second largest city, authorities said. Twenty-seven people died, including 13 suspects.

UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that joint patrols continued intense security operations in Deir ez-Zor, adding that in November, around 30 people were arrested for having suspected ties to ISIS.

Front) and Syrian National Army (SNA) where they have been leading security and high-profile statuses as Ottoman Turkish intelligence services (MIT) merely preserve silence.

An HTS security source told North Press there was a bottomless list of ISIS emirs and leaders serving within the opposition factions, saying, "I will mention some of these who are deeply connected to the Ottoman Turkish intelligence services."

Abu al-Mughira al-Shami, his real name is Mahmoud Taha from the town of Qara, some 100 km north of Damascus, Syria’s capital. He is a prominent security figure running jails 106 in the northern section including Dana, Sarmada, and up to Atmeh camps in Idlib Governorate. Al-Shami had a record of violations against locals in the city of al-Bab when ISIS was controlling the city. He was occupying a post in the security apparatus of the group under Abu Hamed al-Jazrawi and Abu Sufyan al-Tunisi. Afterwards, he went to Manbij, Raqqa and then Deir ez-Zor under blows received by the Global Coalition and the SDF. He was able to reach al-Ra’I town and Idlib. By mediations and approaches to the HTS’ emirs in 2018 he was able to join the security apparatus of the HTS and has become a prominent figure since then.

Abu Udayy al-Jazrawi whose real name is Azam al-Dowsari. He was in charge of the kidnapped Yezidi girls and women in the city of Abu Kamal and Iraqi al-Qaim within the so-called Vilayet al-Furat at the time. He has a record of tens of reported violations against Yezidis. Right now, he is working with Hayat Zakat (an alms body) of the Salvation Government, the civil wing of the HTS. In 2017, he reached Idlib in cooperation with Ahrar al-Sharqiya faction, namely Abu al-Walid Shaqra, in return for $12.000. He has a merchant’s card to go freely to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
along with Abu Adel Saksouk, owner of Saksouk Company for Exchange and Money Transfer.

A most sharia law jurist in HTS right now is Hish al-Homsi who was under ISIS’ Abu Ubaida al-Rawi. His real name is Omar al-Rawi a jurist in Shaddadi sector in the so-called "Wilayat al-Baraka" (Hasakah Governorate). He is a graduate of Abu Sufyan al-Bahreni, a most prominent jurist in Raqqa along with Abu Fatima al-Qahtani and Othman al-Najeh al-Jazrawi. They were responsible for executions, beatings, and disappearances under baseless grounds.

Right now, he is running courses in the military camps of the HTS for gunnies affiliated with al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room. He is also teaching them suicides and infiltrations in Idlib and Aleppo fronts. He reached Idlib in 2019 escaping from Raqqa, which was besieged by the SDF in 2017, to Syrian government-held area in Homs eastern countryside, then to Hama, and from Hama to Idlib in cooperation with officers in the government forces who were lured by large sums of money. He joined HTS with support given by Mazhar al-Weysi, a prominent jurist in the Shura Council.

The source told North Press there was also Manhal al-Tirkawi known as Abu Riyadh al-Tirkawi. He leads the so-called Khaled Ibn al-Walid Battalions in Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) in the northern countryside of Hasakah. He was a "most prominent arms dealer and a smuggler. He had a high position within the sleeper cells of ISIS in Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor. He used to secure every kind of weapons and orchestrated movement of the group’s leader between Syria and Turkey."

Right now, "he is enjoying a high position with SNA and had strong relations with Ottoman Turkish intelligence," the source noted. Despite his work in armament and recruitment between 2014 and 2018 in both Syria and Iraq in cooperation with Abu Ja’far al-Iraqi and Abu Hafs al-Shami, "He still lives on the lam as a military leader in Sere Kaniye and owns farms and real estates in Afrin of ownerships seized by SNA."

Both Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and Abu Abdullah al-Qurashi were killed by the Global Coalition in areas under the Syrian opposition in Idlib close to the border with Turkey.
