[Shabelle] Unknown gunnies have shot up a vehicle in Somali capital, Mogadishu, killing a Uganda lecturer.
The victim, a lecturer in the Faculty of Economics at the Somali University was shot in the head, said the witness who spoke with Shabelle Radio station in Mogadishu.
She was rushed to hospital and later died of her injuries. It is the second liquidation on Friday alone in Mogadishu.
No one yet claimed the responsibility of the killing and Somali government didn't comment on the matter.

[Al Ahram] A boom-mobilewent kaboom! Friday killing its driver outside the office of Somalia's prime minister in the capital Mogadishu, an AFP news hound said.
According to politician Abdullahi Musa, a fellow MP was killed in the car blast, the latest in a string of attacks in Mogadishu, many of them claimed by Al-Qaeda-linked Shabaab Death Eaters.
It appeared that an bomb had been attached to the car, which went kaboom! outside the heavily fortified walls of the government offices, one of the most secure areas in Mogadishu.
There was no immediate claim of any responsiblity.
The Shabaab have been driven out of fixed positions in Somalia's major towns by a UN-mandated African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... force, but still regularly launch attacks that include bombs and guerrilla-style raids.
On Thursday, at least eight people were killed Thursday when a suicide boom-mobileer rammed a convoy in Somalia's northern port of Bossasso.

A proponent of the One Man, One Vote, One Time principle, Morsi won election after the deposal of Hosni Mubarak and jumped to the conclusion it was his turn to be dictator... were dispersed by security forces on Friday.
In the capital, security forces fired teargas to disperse protests in the distrcits of Haram and Mohandiseen.
In Alexandria, three rallies organised after Friday prayers were also dispersed.
In Fayoum in Upper Egypt, a police officer was injured during festivities between security forces and pro-Morsi protesters during a dispersal of a rally after Friday prayers in the city, reported Al-Ahram's Arabic website. The police officer was reportedly hit by a rock hurled by pro-Morsi protesters.
In Minya in Upper Egypt, security forces locked away Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up! nine Morsi supporters for organising unauthorised protests on Friday afternoon in the city.
Under a new law passed last week, protest organisers must notify police at least three days in advance of any protest. Police have the power to forbid the demonstration from taking place, and any violation of the law may be punished with fines or jail sentences.
In Upper Egypt's Beni Suef, Morsi supporters held rallies in several cities and towns, but the demos were not dispersed by police. Security forces secured governmental buildings and churches but did not move to disperse the rallies.
In Al-Arish, the capital of North Sinai governorate, a pro-Morsi rally which started at the city's Al-Rafai mosque made its way through several neighbourhoods before security forces fired teargas at demonstrators. Protest organisers cancelled the protest after security forces started targeting the rally.
In Menoufiya governorate in the Nile Delta, security forces arrested 12 Morsi supporters while they were participating in a rally in the city of Shabin El-Kom.
In Gharbiya governorate, also in the Delta, protesters tried to organise a cycle of violence rally in the city of Zafta but were dispersed after attacks by angry local residents.
The National Alliance to Support Legitimacy, a pro-Morsi coalition led by Morsi's Moslem Brüderbund, had called for the protests.
Most of the rallies made demands for the release of pro-Morsi protesters who have been jugged Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please! in recent months, particularly the 21 women from Alexandria who were sentenced last week to 11 years in jail for protest-related charges.
The protesters also demanded retribution for those Morsi supporters killed in violence with security forces in past months, as well the reinstatement of president Morsi, who was ousted in July.

[Egypt Independent] French forces killed unidentified fighters near the airport in Central African Republic's capital Bangui in festivities early on Thursday before the UN green light for the mission, an army front man said.
"Armed gunnies in pick-up trucks fired on French positions at the airport yesterday morning," Gilles Jarron said on Friday. "We fired back. The pick-up was destroyed and the gunnies were killed," he said.
He could not immediately say how many people were killed.

[Al Ahram] Al-Qaeda grabbed credit Friday for a brazen attack on the Yemeni defence ministry that killed 52 people, saying the complex hosted US personnel behind drone strikes against its bully boys.
Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), regarded by Washington as the jihadist network's most dangerous affiliate, has been hit by intensified US drone strikes in Yemen this year.
There was no immediate evidence to support its allegation that the Sanaa complex attacked on Thursday played any role in the drone war or housed any US personnel.

[Bangla Daily Star] An alleged mugger was killed in a "shootout" between his cohorts and members of Rapid Action Battalion in the capital's Boro Moghbazar early yesterday.
The dear departed was identified as Mohammad Shafique, 38. The law enforcers claimed that they had placed in durance vile You have the right to remain silent... three of his accomplices.
Papia Islam, wife of Shafique, however, said her husband was a cloth trader and she had no information about his involvement in mugging.
Major Md Sadiqur Rahman, company commander of Rab-3, said, "The shootout occurred around 2:00am when Rab personnel challenged a gang of muggers who were preparing to commit a crime.
"Rab members shot back when the criminals started shooting at the law enforcers," he said.
At one stage, the gang tried to flee in a car but the car hit an electric pole at Moghbazar, police claimed.
The criminals took injured Shafique to a hospital on Panthapath, where doctors declared him dead. He's dead, Jim! said Nazmul Ahsan, sub-inspector of Ramna Police Station.
"On information, law enforcers from Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station arrested three members of the gang from the hospital," he added.

[Pak Daily Times] In an ongoing spate of violence across the city, another three people including an activist of Mutahidda Qaumi Movement bit the dust in different incidents on Friday.
In the first incident, a worker of the MQM was bumped off in an alleged murder in Landhi. The victim was identified as 45-year-old Aslam Ansari, son of Majeed Ansari. The police said that the dear departed was sitting near his residence when at least two men on a cycle of violence accosted and opened fire. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. The dear departed ran his own shoe factory. The initial investigation also suggested that he was a former worker of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi and later joined MQM after submitting an apology letter. The motive behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.
A private construction company's employee was rubbed out in Federal B Area near the Gulberg cop shoppe.
The dear departed was identified as Muhammad Qasim, 44, son of Muhammad Baksh. He was on his way home in North Nazimabad after dropping his son to a school in Gulshan-e-Iqbal when gunnies shot and killed him. The police on behalf of his brother, Ashiq, have started the paperwork but haven't done much else against unidentified persons.
A 27-year-old Barkatullah was killed in Ahsanabad within the remits of Sohrab Goth cop shoppe. The police said the dear departed used to work at a flourmill in Ahsanabad and he was killed by the mill's watchman, Omer Hayat, after an exchange of hot words. About 50 heavily-armed members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) stormed a police station in Marawi City in Mindanao, abducted the police chief, killed his brother-in-law and freed two of their detained colleagues.
Colonel Glen Macasero, a regional military spokesman, identified the police chief as Superintendent Christopher Panapan who was apparently abducted to deter security forces from pursuing the suspects as they fled with their two rescued comrades. However, the abductors released Panapan a few hours later due to the intercession of the ceasefire committee established by the government and the MILF.
Macasero said about 50 armed MILF members stormed the Marawi City police station about 1 a.m. on Friday, disarmed the policmen and gunned down Panapan's brother-in-law. He said their main purpose was to rescue two of their MILF colleagues arrested last week. As they fled the suspects took their hostage and used him as human shield to discourage security from pursuing them.
The attack occurred as government and the MILF negotiating teams returned to Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday to resume talks.

After suspected terrorists insurgents gunned down four villagers on Tuesday in Pattani province, police and local authorities yesterday continued to search for a missing villager who fled into a swamp.
Four suspected terrorists insurgents on two motorcycles opened fire on ten villagers traveling in a pick-up truck to the roadside mangrove forest to hunt for crabs to sell in the market.
Four villagers ran into the mangrove forest before being killed. The fifth man is still missing. Police said the attackers dragged the bodies of the dead victims onto the road before fleeing with their truck.
Police suspected the attack was a part of the ongoing insurgency in the region.
Pattani Governor Wittaya Panichpong called an urgent meeting and instructed village leaders and local residents near the scene of the attack to help locate the missing man. He said the search faced difficulties as the area was mangrove forest and it was raining.
Wittaya said the attack might be the terrorists' insurgents' retaliation for state officials' previous arrest of key terrorists insurgents.

The army has been authorized to take charge of security in Tripoli for six months following the deadly sectarian festivities by rival sides stemming from the civil war in neighboring Syria.
Tensions soared in the city in August when twin boom-mobileings hit Sunni mosques and left hundreds of casualties.
A soldier was killed and 6 others were maimed on Thursday evening after gunnies protested raids by troops across the city, accusing the military of targeting the Sunni sect.
On Wednesday night, unknown assailants tossed two stun grenades at Syria street, which separates the rival neighborhoods of Jabal Mohsen and Bab al-Tabbaneh.
At least 10 people have been killed and 100 others maimed in festivities between the rival Tripoli neighborhoods of Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen since last week.

[An Nahar] At least 17 people, including children, have been killed by regime forces in a shelter in the town of Nabuk, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Friday.
Citing activists inside the town north of Damascus, the watchdog said the bodies of the civilians were found in Nabuk's Al-Fatah district.
It was unclear when the 17 civilians had been killed, and the Observatory called for the International Committee of the Red Thingy to be given access to the area.
Regime troops and rebels have been battling for days in Nabuk, as the Syrian army fights to capture the Qalamoun region north of Damascus.
The army has seized nearby Qara and Deir Attiyeh, which lie north of Nabuk along the key Damascus-Homs highway.
But it has also seen rebels seize the town of Maalula, a historic Christian hamlet in Qalamoun, as the fighting in Nabuk continues.
The Observatory said that elsewhere in the country at least 16 people were killed in regime air raids on the town of Bazaa in northern Aleppo.
The group said six children and five women were among the dead in the air strikes.

[Bangla Daily Star] A jacket wallah blew up a vehicle outside a pro-government militia headquarters in northeastern Syria, killing at least five people on Friday, a monitoring group said.
Another 10 people were maimed in the bombing outside the the National Defence Forces base in the Kurdish-majority city of Qamishli on the Turkish border, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights director Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP.
State television reported that there had been dead and maimed in a blast in the Hasakeh province city but made no mention of it being near the militia headquarters.
Syrian government forces largely withdrew from Kurdish-majority regions of the northeast and northwest in the middle of last year but have maintained a limited presence in some areas.
The Kurds have assumed control of their own security and administration in areas where they form a majority, and have carefully avoided siding with either the regime or the opposition.
Their position has angered some rebels, who consider the Kurds regime allies for refusing to allow opposition fighters to operate inside their cities.
And jihadist groups, for whom the secular nationalism of Syria's most powerful Kurdish group, the Democratic Union Party (PYD), is anathema, have fought repeatedly with Kurdish militia in their bid to consolidate supply lines to neighbouring Iraq.
