[ToloNews] At least three suspects were arrested in connection with deadly kabooms in the city of Bamiyan ...a place in Afghanistan that used to have some historically interesting statues of the Buddha carved into a mountainside. Then the holy men showed up and now all they have is some big holes... on Tuesday that according to sources killed at least 17 people and maimed over 50 others, police said.
Bamiyan police said that according to their initial investigation, "Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... has plotted the attack." Taliban has denied involvement in the attack.
"One suspect has been identified by the National Directorate of Security ...the Afghan national intel agency... ," Bamiyan Police Chief Zabardast Safai said.
Survivors said the blasts were huge and that it was shocking because it happened for the first time in Bamiyan, which has been a safe place for tourists.
According to health officials, 10 of those maimed in the earth-shattering kabooms are at death's door.
[ToloNews] The Afghan government on Wednesday shared CCTV footage with the media of the vehicle that was attacked in Kabul three weeks ago in which three Central Bank officials, including former TOLOnews anchor Yama Siawash, were killed.
The footage was shared by First Vice President Amrullah Saleh with media heads in a meeting on Wednesday morning.
But journalist said the footage does not provide convincing answers to their legitimate questions about what really had happened to the car.
Siawash’s family in a meeting with the UN mission’s human rights When they're defined by the state or an NGO they don't mean much... officials this week urged the need for a thorough investigation by an impartial international institution into the attack to make sure perpetrators of the attack are punished.
The attack happened Makrorayan-e-Char area in Kabul’s PD9 on November 7.
"Previously, the Central Bank was not prepared to share the footage with the media. This footage provides an answer to the question that at least a footage exists there," said Zaki Daryabi, the editor-in-chief of Kabul-based Etilaatroz daily newspaper.
"The information shared with us did not attain our satisfaction and it was not complete," said Danish Karokhel, the head of Pajhwok Afghan News.
"No explanation was given to them (Siawash’s family) about how and who placed or planned to use two kilograms of explosives," said Rahmatullah Nabi, former head of the National Directorate of Security ...the Afghan national intel agency... Some politicians meanwhile criticized Central Bank’s acting governor Ajmal Ahmadi and other officials of the bank for lack of cooperation with a committee appointed by the parliament to investigate the attack.
"The Ministry of Interior has also said that the information that they were seeking from the bank has not been shared with them. Only a 46-minute CCTV footage was shared that does not clarify anything," said Tawfiq Wahdat, an MP.
"Hundreds of cases like this have not been investigated. Nothing was shared about them with the people and victims’ families," said Abrarullah Murad, an MP.
Siawash’s colleagues and members of the parliament have said that the Central Bank should provide the CCTV footage and other information to help identify perpetrators.
But the Central Bank said that it has handed the GPS information and CCTV recordings to security agencies to probe this month’s attack on its employees, but security agencies are not providing details in this respect.

These civilians were stopped and kidnapped in Siya Petab and Pul-Mehrab areas in the Jalriz district of Maidan Wardak province on Wednesday morning, MoI stated.
No further details were provided on the abductees, and the Taliban ...Arabic for students... have not yet commented in this regard.
The areas where these civilians were kidnapped are allegedly under the Death Eater’s influence.

[NYP] A senior CIA officer was killed during combat in Somalia, according to reports.
The officer — who wasn’t named — was a former member of the Navy’s SEAL Team 6 and belonged to the Special Activities Center, the agency’s paramilitary division, the New York Times reported Wednesday.
The officer’s death comes after President Trump suggested he may withdraw troops out of Somalia in the future.
The US has 700 troops in Somalia tasked with working with local forces to defeat the terrorist group Al-Shabaab, according to Reuters.
The officer’s death will add another star on the memorial wall located inside the CIA’s headquarters in Virginia. The wall pays tribute to CIA service members killed in the line of duty.

The Treasury Department blamed the pro-Khalifa Haftar ...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy, so it's kind of hard to describe him as a Qadaffy holdover. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all. Actually, he is, but slowly... group for torture, forced disappearances and displacement of civilians in the conflict-hit country.

The Kaniyat militia shifted allegiances from Libya’s recognized Government of National Accord (GNA) in April 2019, to the self-styled Libyan National Army (LNA), the US agency said.
"In June 2020, following a de facto truce, GNA-aligned forces re-entered Tarhouna and discovered at least 11 mass graves containing the bodies of civilians previously detained by the Kaniyat militia, including women, children, and elderly," it said. "Some of the dear departed appeared to have been tortured, burned, or buried alive. The Kaniyat militia is also responsible for hundreds of summary executions at Tarhouna prison, numerous forced disappearances, and the displacement of entire families from Tarhouna."
Earlier this month, the Libyan authorities discovered five mass graves in the same area in Tarhuna where 12 bodies were exhumed.
Libya has been torn by civil war since the ouster of late ruler Muammar Qadaffy ...Proof that a madman with money will be politely received for at least 42 years until his people get tired of him and kill him... in 2011. The GNA was founded in 2015 under a UN-led agreement, but efforts for a long-term political settlement failed because of Haftar’s military offensive.

The blast happened early Wednesday and struck the MT Agrari, a Maltese-flagged, Greek-managed oil tanker near Shuqaiq, Saudi Arabia.
"Their vessel was attacked by an unknown source," a statement from the Agrari’s operators say. "The Agrari was struck about 1 meter above the waterline and has suffered a breach. It has been confirmed that the crew are safe and there have been no injuries."

The bomb was meant to explode in a Gay Paree suburb during a huge rally being held by an exiled Iranian opposition group. It could have caused carnage.
Instead, the earth-shattering kaboom ripped apart the robot that army specialists were using to defuse the bomb after it was found in the car of a couple arrested in a Brussels suburb.
More than two years after the last-minute, cross-border operation that thwarted the planned attack, the couple go on trial Friday alongside two Iranian citizens, including a diplomat believed to be the plot’s criminal mastermind.
The court case in the city of Antwerp has the potential to embarrass Iran. According to legal documents from the two-year investigation obtained by The News Agency that Dare Not be Named, Belgium’s intelligence and security agency (VSSE) says the diplomat, Assadollah Assadi, operated on orders of Iran’s authorities and brought the explosives to Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... himself.
In a note to Belgium’s federal prosecutor, the agency argued that "the planned attack was conceived in the name of Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The prosecutor’s office did not comment on the case because the trial had yet to start.
On June 30, 2018, Belgian coppers tipped off about a possible attack against the annual meeting of the the Mujahedeen-e-Khalq, or MEK, stopped the couple’s Mercedes car. In their luggage, they found 550 grams of the unstable TATP explosive and a detonator. In its report, Belgium’s bomb disposal unit said the device was of professional quality.
TATP has been used in several attacks in Europe in recent years, including in 2016 when jacket wallahs killed 32 people on the Brussels subway and at an airport. It could have caused a sizable explosion and panic in the crowd, estimated at 25,000 people, that had gathered that day in the French town of Villepinte, north of Gay Paree.
Regarded by Sherlocks as the "operational commander" of the attack, Assadi is suspected of having hired the couple years earlier.
According to a VSSE note, Assadi, 48, is an officer of Iran’s intelligence and security ministry who operated under cover at Iran’s embassy in Vienna.
Belgium’s state security officers believe he worked for the ministry’s so-called Department 312, the directorate for internal security, which is on the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... ’s list of organizations regarded as terrorist.
Assadi’s lawyer, Dimitri de Beco, told the AP his client contests all the charges against him.
"His defense will raise a number of procedural issues, including the question of his diplomatic immunity, since it is not disputed that he had diplomatic status, at least at the time of the facts," de Beco wrote in a short message, expressing his hope that the court case won’t be a "political trial."
The MEK, once an armed organization with a base in Iraq, is the most structured among exiled Iranian opposition groups, and is detested by Iranian authorities. It was removed from EU and US terrorism lists several years ago after denouncing violence and getting western politicians to lobby on its behalf. The MEK supports US President Donald Trump ...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party... ’s hard line on Iran and backs US sanctions on the country.
Among dozens of prominent guests at the rally that day were Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani; Newt Gingrich ...former Speaker of the House, author of the Contract with America. Gingrich gave the country welfare reform and a balanced budget and the Publicans a landslide House victory in 1994. On the downside, he has a roving eye and a loose fly, he's opinionated, and he's abrasive despite his ability to work with the other side of the political aisle... , former conservative speaker of the US House of Representatives; and former Colombian presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt.
The organization’s leader, Maryam Rajavi, has alleged without offering evidence that Assadi received his orders from Iranian President Hassan Rouhani ...Iran's moderate president, which he is, relative to his predecessor, which doesn't mean he's anything but a puppet of the nearest holy man... and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei ...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini... "The regime’s leaders must be prosecuted and face justice," she said last month during a video conference with journalists.
Assadi allegedly recruited the couple — Amir Saadouni and Nasimeh Naami, who were of Iranian heritage but lived in Antwerp — to obtain information about the Iranian opposition. The fourth suspect, Mehrdad Arefani, is a Brussels resident suspected of traveling to Villepinte on the day of the planned attack. Investigators found that he was in possession of a phone with Assadi’s number.
Travel records obtained by the AP show Assadi made several trips to Iran in the months leading up to the rally, returning from the last one little more than a week before the thwarted attack. According to a note from the prosecution’s files, Assadi carried the explosives on the commercial flight to Austria. He allegedly handed the bomb over to Saadouni and Naami during a meeting in a Pizza Hut restaurant in Luxembourg just two days before they were arrested.
Both have denied they were aware that the diplomat — whose code name was Daniel — had given them a bomb. Naami said she believed the parcel contained fireworks.
Belgium’s bomb disposal unit said the triacetone triperoxide charge in the couple’s Mercedes car was ready to use. It was "wrapped in plastic and concealed in the lining of a vanity case." They also found a digital remote trigger in a small bag belonging to Naami that contained feminine hygiene items.
Upon his arrest, Sherlocks also found a red notebook in Assadi’s car with instructions on how to use the bomb. The analysis of the suspects’ text messages and emails revealed they used code language to communicate, with "PlayStation 4" the alleged name for the bomb.
The French side of the investigation also established that Assadi visited Villepinte during the 2017 MEK rally, possibly on a reconnaissance trip.
If convicted, the four suspects face between five years and 20 years in prison on charges of "attempted terrorist murder and participation in the activities of a terrorist group." Hearings will last between two and three days and a verdict is expected be delivered by the end of next month.

[IsraelTimes] Border guards rubbed out an East Jerusalem man who rammed his car into one officer after being caught presenting false identification papers at a checkpoint outside of Jerusalem on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
According to police, the suspect was stopped at the A’zaim checkpoint east of the capital and asked to identify himself. However, if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning... the papers he presented the officers appeared to belong to someone else.
While being questioned, the suspect — later identified by the Paleostinian news site Ma’an as Nur Jamal Shaqir, a 30-year-old resident of the Silwan neighborhood of East Jerusalem — drove his car quickly toward a border guard, hitting and lightly injuring him, police said.
Shaqir was shot by other officers at the scene and taken to Jerusalem’s Hadassah Hospital Mount Scopus, where he was pronounced dead. He's dead, Jim! the medical center said.
According to the hospital, Shaqir sustained gunshot wounds to the stomach and arrived without a pulse.
Police said it was not immediately clear if the incident was an act of terror.
Videos from the scene show the officers arresting the fatally maimed driver next to his car just outside the checkpoint.
Police closed off the surrounding area and inspected the vehicle.
On Sunday, the Israel Defense Forces said it had thwarted an attempt to attack troops with improvised bombs outside the village of al-Mughayyir near Ramallah in the central West Bank. They were uncovered by IDF troops and then disarmed by police sappers, causing no injuries or damage.
The explosives had been buried and covered with dirt for camouflage and rigged to blow if a soldier stepped on them. The incident came during a period of relative calm in the West Bank.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The U.S. Justice Department issued a statement on November 24th, offering a reward for information on a Syrian terrorist leader.Per the statement posted on their Arabic Twitter account, the U.S. Justice Department is offering up to $10 million (U.S.D) for information leading to the arrest of the founder of the al-Nusra ...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ... Front and current leader of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else ...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State... , Abu Mohammad al-Joulani, who is believed to be in northwestern Syria.
"They pretend to care for Syria, but the people did not forget the crimes committed by the al-Nusra Front (HTS) against them," the tweet began.
"If you have information about him, you may get a reward of up to $10 million," they said asking those with information to contact them via a number of platforms.
Al-Joulani has been the main leader of one of the largest jihadist groups inside Syria since the terrorist organization first entered the Syrian conflict.
The al-Nusra Front, which he founded, has been accused of committing several crimes inside the country, while also being one of the primary opposition factions to fight the Syrian Armed Forces.
