A bully boy was killed in a shootout at Khagund area of Verinag in Anantnag district during early hours today. In north Kashmir's Bandipora, police said a TRF bully boy allegedly involved in the killing of a local cab driver last week was killed in Gundjahangir area of the district this morning.

The DC Kupwara assured all necessary support to the migrant community from the administration, police and public about their safety and security, adding that there is no need to panic.
He said that a Nodal officer has also been designated to keep close liaison with the migrant community for instant redressal of their issues. He appealed to all stakeholders to come together and "denounce the nefarious elements who are hell bent to damage the peaceful atmosphere".
SSP Kupwara in his address assured full cooperation to the community and said that the police will not allow any element to damage the peace and congenial atmosphere in the district. He said that necessary security has been provided wherever required.

The US government had offered up to $5 million in exchange for information leading to al-Jaburi’s arrest. The State Department’s Rewards for Justice program described him on its website as "a big shot" of ISIS, "a legacy member" of its predecessor Al Qaeda in Iraq, and "instrumental in managing finances for ISIS’s terrorist operations."
After ISIS overran large swathes of Syria and Iraq in 2014, the State Department says, al-Jaburi acted as its "finance minister" — directing the sale of oil, natural gas, minerals and antiquities on the black market. He was labeled a Specially Designated Global Terrorist by the Treasury Department in September 2015.
Al-Jaburi is also believed to have been a close associate of the late ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who went kaboom! in 2019 when US forces raided his hideout in northwestern Syria. According to Rooters, al-Jaburi is only the second senior ISIS leader to be taken alive — making him a potential treasure trove of information about the group’s capabilities and ambitions in its post-Baghdadi state.
"He is involved in the day to day operations of ISIS in Syria and Iraq, so strategically and tactically, this is a significant capture for the Iraqis," Hassan Hassan, editor-in-chief of New Lines Magazine and an ISIS expert, told Rooters.
Western military officials estimate that ISIS still has at least 10,000 fighters across Iraq and Syria, most of them in remote areas. While the Iraqi government declared victory over ISIS in December 2017, the group has continued to carry out attacks on police and military installations, killing dozens in the past year.
The US Treasury estimates ISIS has tens of millions of dollars stashed across Iraq, Syria, and Turkey and “continued to raise funds through extortion of oil smuggling networks in eastern Syria, collecting kidnapping ransoms, looting, and possibly the operation of front companies in both Iraq and Syria,” according to the Pentagon.

Iraq’s Shia groups have dominated governments and government formation since the US-led invasion of 2003 that toppled Sunni dictator Saddam Hussein and catapulted the Shi’ite majority and the Kurds to power.
Sunday’s election was held several months early, in response to mass protests in 2019 that toppled a government and showed widespread anger against politicians whom many Iraqis say have enriched themselves at the expense of the country.
But a record low turnout suggested that an election billed as an opportunity to wrest control from the ruling elite would do little to dislodge sectarian religious parties in power since 2003.
A count based on initial results from several Iraqi provinces plus the capital Baghdad, verified by local government officials, suggested Sadr had won more than 70 seats, which if confirmed could give him considerable influence in forming a government.
A spokesperson for Sadr’s office said the number was 73 seats. Local news outlets published the same figure.
An official at Iraq’s electoral commission said Sadr had come first but did not immediately confirm how many seats his party had won.
The initial results also showed that pro-reform candidates who emerged from the 2019 protests had gained several seats in the 329-member parliament.
Iran-backed parties with links to militia groups accused of killing some of the nearly 600 people who died in the protests took a blow, winning less seats than in the last election in 2018, according to the initial results and local officials.
Sadr has increased his power over the Iraqi state since coming first in the 2018 election where his coalition won 54 seats.
The unpredictable populist holy man has been a dominant figure and often kingmaker in Iraqi politics since the US invasion.
He opposes all foreign interference in Iraq, whether by the US, against which he fought an insurgency after 2003, or by neighboring Iran, which he has criticized for its close involvement in Iraqi politics.
Sadr, however, is regularly in Iran, according to officials close to him, and has called for the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, where Washington maintains a force of around 2,500 in a continuing fight against Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. The result on Monday is not expected to dramatically alter the balance of power in Iraq or in the wider region.
Sunday’s vote was held under a new law billed by Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi as a way to loosen the grip of established political parties and pave the way for independent, pro-reform candidates. Voting districts were made smaller, and the practice of awarding seats to lists of candidates sponsored by parties was abandoned.
But many Iraqis did not believe the system could be changed and chose not to vote.
The official turnout figure of just 41 percent suggested the vote had failed to capture the imagination of the public, especially younger Iraqis who demonstrated in huge crowds two years ago.

ISIS would likely get stronger and perhaps manage to massacre Shia civilians but really, that is not a strategic challenge any more than ISIS killing Shia in Afghanistan.

Two Paleostinians were arrested and another two detained after violent mostly peacefulfestivities with Israeli police broke out for the third night in a row near the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem’s Old City on Monday.
Police said Paleostinians threw stones at officers and passing buses, damaging some of them. Officers responded with riot control means, including stun grenades and a "skunk water" cannon.
In videos from the scene, Paleostinians can be seen taking cover as the cannon fired its noxious spray in an effort to disperse them. In other videos, Paleostinians and Border Police can be seen scuffling.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
The festivities marked the third straight night of unrest in Jerusalem’s Old City, much it centered around or near Damascus Gate, with festivities sparked by allegations that city workers disturbed graves at a Moslem cemetery.
Ten Paleostinians were maimed on Sunday night after festivities broke out in the area, according to Paleostinian media.
Paleostinians said they were protesting over an alleged incursion by Israeli bulldozers into a Moslem cemetery — known as al-Yusufiyya — in Musrara, which borders Jerusalem’s Old City.

"Less than 20 of the targeted tenants were successfully compromised, but DEV-0343 continues to evolve their techniques to refine its attacks," the statement said.
Among the targets have been "defense companies that support United States, European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... , and Israeli government partners producing military-grade radars, drone technology, satellite systems, and emergency response communication systems."
"This activity likely supports the national interests of the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran based on pattern-of-life analysis, extensive crossover in geographic and sectoral targeting with Iranian actors, and alignment of techniques and targets with another actor originating in Iran," the statement said.
Microsoft said the hacking efforts could help Iran track "adversary security services and maritime shipping in the Middle East."
"Gaining access to commercial satellite imagery and proprietary shipping plans and logs could help Iran compensate for its developing satellite program," Microsoft said.
Numerous suspected Iranian cyberattacks on Israel were reported in recent years, including one that targeted its water infrastructure in 2020. The most recent was reported last week.
