'Every parent's worst nightmare': Rainbow fentanyl pills resembling candy are found in a LEGO box as DEA warns how 'drug cartels are pushing into new markets by targeting children'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Fentanyl packaged like candy and placed into LEGO boxes was found in the back of a car being driven in Manhattan

  • Latesha Bush, 48, from Trenton, New Jersey, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance

  • Officers stopped a vehicle that contained 15,000 multicolored pills

  • The pills, manufactured by Mexican drug cartels, were imprinted with '30 M' to resemble 30mg oxycodone pills, usually prescribed to treat severe pain after an operation or a serious injury

  • Rainbow fentanyl began showing up on the streets on the West Coast in February and has gradually made its way across the country

  • It was first reported to DEA in February 2022, and it has now been seized in 21 states across the country

  • Multicolored pills are similar looking to party drugs and are meant to be more appealing so the Sinaloa Cartel and Jalisco New Generation Cartel can cultivate a new market among younger people

Afghanistan
Daily Evacuation Brief October 6, 2022
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • BLAST TARGETS MOSQUE NEAR INTERIOR MINISTRY – Early reports suggest a suicide bomber successfully detonated a device in a Mosque that serves workers of the Interior Ministry (near the Kabul Airport). The Mosque is located in a fortified compound and typically has a significant security complement assigned to it. 4 people are said to have been killed and 25 others were wounded. More deaths and wounded are expected from this event. No group has claimed credit for the attack. Taliban security and GDI agents (National Intelligence) have swarmed the area and are canvassing locals to attempt to gather information. No arrests have been reported.

  • TALIBAN ARREST ISIS-K FIGURE – The Taliban intelligence department (GDI) say they have arrested Abdul Malik Maliki under suspicion of raising funds for ISIS-K. They say he led many of the ISIS initiatives in Europe and elsewhere to raise money and recruit followers for the terror organization. They released audio from a taped confession in which he admits to recruiting and collecting funds in Ukraine, Germany, and Spain. The circumstances of his arrest were not released and it is not known where he is being held currently. No further information was available.

  • KABUL MARKET FIRE DOUSED – A large fire was reported in the Kota-e-Sangi neighborhood of Western Kabul early on Wednesday morning. The Ministry of Defense was called in to assist with putting the fire out and both air and ground units were able to contain it. Many residents were concerned that the helicopters used to combat the flames were conducting counter-terrorism operations but multiple sources confirmed it was only to support the firefighting mission.

CONFLICT TRACKER
Takhar: The NRF reportedly attacked a Taliban position in an undisclosed location in the province, and claim to have killed 6 Taliban fighters and wounded 9 more, A photo of a burning HUMVEE was provided as proof but we couldn't verify the authenticity.

NEXT 24 HOURS
NATIONAL ENTRANCE EXAMS SCHEDULED THURSDAY – The Ministry of Education announced that university entrance exams will be held on Thursday in all Provinces except Kabul. 150,000 students are expected to take the exams. Many students have called on the Taliban to make sure the process is transparent and fair. Female test takers are expected to participate at a lower rate due to the ban on schooling beyond the 6th grade. THREAT ALERT- considering the bomb attacks over the previous week, two of which targeted education facilities, we feel the testing centers could well be targeted for attack(s) on Thursday. Taliban security has reportedly increased in the wake of the attacks but they have not effectively interdicted many terror attacks since coming to power. At-risk Afghans should remain aware of the situation and report unknown people who may loiter near the testing centers. We have heard that some neighborhoods and towns are proactively stationing men near the testing facilities to help safeguard the examination sites. We hope the exams pass peacefully and without incident.

Intelligence Agency of the Taliban administration said that the Taliban forces have arrested an ISIS Khorasan branch member

The Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
intelligence agency, in a tweet on Tuesday, October 4, claimed that it had arrested the head of foreign and financial relations and of the Khorasan branch of the ISIS terrorist group.

The arrested man, Abdul Malik,
...a popular name throughout the Ummah...
shown in a video tweet by the Taliban confessing to fundraising and recruiting ISIS fighters.

The man in the video claims to be from the eastern Afghan province of Kunar and was in charge of recruiting imported muscle and raising funds for the ISIS organization.

Abdul Malik alleged that he received funding for the ISIS group’s operations from Germany, Spain, and Ukraine.

The circumstances under which this confession was taken or may have been extorted from him are still unknown.

The Taliban, on the other hand, previously claimed that ISIS has been defeated and is no longer able to launch attacks, in a meeting with Tomas Niklasson, the special representative of the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
for Afghanistan.

ISIS and other terrorist organizations in Afghanistan "have now been hit hard, they lost their ability to resist and attack, and they are now attacking defenseless people," according to Amir Khan Muttaqi, Taliban Foreign Minister who also spoke with the EU official.

This comes as many countries in the region and in the international community have expressed concerns over the terrorism emanating from Afghanistan, calling it a threat to regional and global security.

#1  Malik alleged that he received funding for the ISIS group’s operations from... Ukraine.

There's more muslims in Ireland, and Luxembourg than UKR. UKR is an interesting place to have received funding from because UKR is not very affluent. But considering that foreign aid is largely unaudited, there is implication.

An explosion shook the Taliban Interior Ministry in the Afghan capital, Kabul.

Three Years After Attack, Nigerian Police Release Corpses Of Shi'ites Killed During Protest

The Nigeria Police Force has reportedly released three corpses of members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN),
... the Shiite version of the Muslim Brotherhood, only beholden to Iran. It was founded by Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky (and a number of other spellings), the former head of the Muslim Brotherhood in Nigeria, who converted to Shi'ism after a visit to Iran and now is a fiery Iranian sock puppet...
otherwise called Shiites.

The dear departed persons were allegedly shot by the police in 2019 during a protest to demand the release of Ibraheem El-Zakzaky,
...former leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in Nigeria, he converted to Shi'ism after a visit to Iran, and now is a fiery Iranian sock puppet. He’s head of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), which Nigeria declared a terror group in 2019. Like the Muslim Brotherhood, its spinoffs, including Boko Haram/ISWAP, are much more violent. He is the only Zakzaky in our archives, though the rest of his name suffers considerable variation...
leader of IMN.

The movement had filed a committal proceeding before an Abuja Federal High Court against the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali, and the Chief Medical Director of the National Hospital, Abuja, for disobeying the order of the court.

The organization said the contempt proceeding became necessary because they (IGP and CMD) have consistently refused to obey the judgment of the court, which ordered the release of the corpses of its members allegedly killed by the police on July 22, 2019.

At the time, the victims were protesting against the continuous detention of the IMN leader, El-Zakzaky, and his wife, Zeenah, by security agencies despite a court order that they should be freed.

A member of the Academic Forum of IMN, Halima Aliyu, said this during a presser held in Abuja on Monday, where she also released the court processes to journalists.

The content of Form 49, signed by the Registrar of the Federal High Court, stated in part, "Take note that the applicant applied for an order for your committal to the Correctional Centre having disobeyed the order of this court made on June 29, 2020."

Aliyu said the court ordered the release of the corpses.

She said, "Form 49, seeking contempt of and disobedience to court order proceedings, has been filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja against the Inspector-General of Police and Chief Medical Director of the National Hospital Abuja.

"Both the IGP and the CMD are expected to appear before Justice J. K. Omotosho of Court 7, Federal High Court, Maitama Abuja, on Wednesday, October 5, 2022."

But the group in a statement issued by Halima Aliyu on behalf of the Academic Forum of the Islamic movement said there are also six corpses of their member in police custody, and they vow to explore every legal measure to get them released.

He said, "We would like to inform the public that after withholding the remain of Free Zakzaky protesters for 3 years, Police have begun to release the corpses.

"In response to our Press Conference held in Abuja on Monday, October 3, 2022, where we vow to continue with contempt of court proceedings against the Inspector General of Police, the Police release 3 out of 9 corpses of Free Zakzaky protesters.

"The protesters were killed by the Police on Monday, July 22, 2019, at Federal Secretariat Abuja, while protesting against the unlawful detention of his eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Ya’qoub El-Zakzaky (H) and his wife Malama Zeenah Ibraheem.

"The coppers attacked the procession and opened fire on the protesters which led to the instant killing of 12 protesters, 1 unknown person, Usman Umar (Deputy Commissioner of Police) and Precious Owolabi (a Journalist with Channels TV).

"After the incident, the police evacuated corpses of the slain protesters, deposited 4 at National Hospital and 2 at Asokoro District Hospital and some of the protesters were able to take away other 6 of those brutally killed instantly.

"The police arrested many protesters and detained them at SARS (defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad facilities with neither medication nor feeding. While languishing in jug, 3 protesters eventually died, and again the corpses were moved to Asokoro District Hospital, making it 5 thereat.

"The total of people killed by the Police is 18 comprising 15 protesters, 1 Police Officer, 1 Journalist and 1 unknown person.

"On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, the Police released the corpses of three protesters. The protesters are Shaheed Suleiman Shehu, Shaheed Bilyaminu Abubakar Faska, and Shaheed Yakubu Yahaya Faska.

"Up until this moment, there are still 6 corpses of protesters in Police custody and we vow to continue the struggle to ensure the release of all the corpses."

Germany repatriates 12 IS-linked citizens from Syria
[DW] The group included four women, seven children and a man who was brought to Syria when he was 11. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said the adults in the group will have to "answer for their alleged actions."

The German government has repatriated several women in Syria suspected of supporting the so-called "Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
" (IS) along with their children, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock announced on Wednesday.

The operation involved four women, seven children and a young man who had been taken to Syria when he was 11 years old. All had been living in the Roj camp in northeastern Syria, which is largely under Kurdish control.

"I am especially relieved because the children are not responsible for their parents' fateful choices," Baerbock said, adding that they "are ultimately also victims of IS."

The five adults among the group were detained when they arrived back in Germany and will have to "answer for their alleged actions," she added.

FEW CASES REMAINING
A total of 26 women and 76 children with suspected links to IS have been repatriated from Syria to Germany in recent years. Some have been tried and nabbed

for crimes committed during the war.

"I am relieved because this action has allowed us to close almost all the known cases," Baerbock said.

However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
the German Foreign Office said there have been some instances where women in Syria have chosen not to return to Germany.

Wanted BIFF militant surrenders in southern Philippines
[BenarNews] An aide to one of the Philippines’ most wanted bomb-makers, the late hard boy Abdul Basit Usman, has surrendered to authorities in the volatile southern region of Mindanao, officials said Wednesday.

The suspect, identified as Manap Mamaluba, is a member of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
-linked Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters
...a MILF splinter group aligned with the Islamic State...
(BIFF) hard boy group and was on the run from authorities for years, according to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

Mamaluba surrendered two weeks ago, but this was only made public after he was subjected to verification and questioning this week, said Nicanor Suarez, front man for the investigation bureau.

BIFF is a splinter of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), a former separatist guerrilla group whose leaders now control an autonomous region in the southern Philippines. The surrender occurred in the area formally known as the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Moslem Mindanao (BAARM), according to a statement from the bureau.

"The surrender of Mamaluba was made possible through his uncle, a certain Commander Tiger of the MILF," Suarez said. "Currently, the subject is under the custody of the Municipality of Datu Abdullah Sangki."

The exact identity of Commander Tiger was not revealed, although he is believed to be one of the field commanders of the MILF in the southern province of Maguindanao, intelligence officials said.

Officials did not release more details about Mamaluba.

His boss, Usman, was a top hard boy who had made it onto the U.S. State Department’s list of wanted terrorists. Security experts say Usman had trained many Lions of Islam in bomb making, including those affiliated with Jemaah Islamiyah.

JI, an Indonesia-based hard boy group and the Southeast Asian affiliate of al-Qaeda, was blamed for the October 2002 Bali bombings - that country’s deadliest terror attack to date.

In January 2015, Usman escaped a raid by the police Special Action Force (SAF) in the town of Mamasapano in Mindanao that resulted in the death of Zulkifli bin Hir (alias Marwan), a Malaysian terror suspect who was hiding in the southern Philippines.

Forty-four SAF commandos were killed during the botched operation. They became caught in a deadly firefight with members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front who thought they had come under attack.

The Philippine military killed Usman three months later.

The BIFF, the splinter faction, has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State bad boy group, and many of its members are separately wanted for other crimes, including kidnapping for ransom and extortion.

Col. Abdulrasad Sirajan, the military’s regional front man, told BenarNews that their crackdown against Mamaluba’s colleagues was continuing but government forces remained open to those who were willing to surrender.

"Our operation is going on without rest, but on the other hand, we welcome those who want to live a normal life," he said, adding that about 360 BIFF fighters had surrendered since last year in Maguindanao.

In January 2021, BIFF Lions of Islam carried out two roadside kaboomings that killed three people and injured dozens more in the south.

In 2017, hundreds of pro-IS fighters from Southeast Asia, the Middle East and elsewhere took over the southern Philippine city of Marawi for five months. Some 1,200 people were killed in a battle that ensued between the Lions of Islam and government forces.

While BIFF did not send guerrillas to join that battle, it launched diversionary attacks at the time, according to officials.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
US special forces conduct midnight raid deep in government-held area of Syria killing 'ISIS leader' and taking several others captive
[Daily Mail, where America get its news]
  • US special forces carry out raid deep in govt-controlled territory, it's reported

  • The operation killed one person, thought to be an ISIS leader, in Syria's northeast

  • Several other people were captured by US forces in the raid, reports state

  • A resident named the victim as Rakan Abu Hayel, from nearby Hassakeh provence

Local sources said that US troops landed in the village Muluk Saray in the countryside of the Qamishli region in northeast Syria, where territory is controlled in part by US-backed Kurdish fighters and partly by the Russia-backed government.

Sources told news channel Al Mayadeen that the victim was named Rakan Abu Hayel, originally from the village of Tuwaimin in the eastern countryside.

The family of the slain man and members of another family were arrested and taken into US custody, they claim, with some saying that at least two of those captured were part of a pro-Assad militia — though that remains unconfirmed.

Security officials later told Reuters that the man killed was 'a key IS leader present' responsible for coordination among the ISIS sleeper cells in the area.

The unnamed source added: 'This operation aims to expand the scope of targeting this organization's members across different parts of Syria.'

More information about the raid is expected to be provided in the coming hours, Central Command officials told DailyMail.com.

Unnamed sources originally told Syrian news channel Al Mayadeen that US occupation forces 'carried out a landing operation using several helicopters in the village of Muluk Saray, in the southern countryside of Qamishli, and killed one person.'

But a local village resident had said the victim was Hayel, a little-known displaced person from ISIS stronghold Hassakeh.

The resident said that three US helicopters carrying troops had landed in the overnight operation near the Turkish border.

'They used loudspeakers to call on residents to stay indoors' during the operation,' the resident said.

He added that the operation lasted several hours, and there was no exchange of gunfire with American troops.

During the operation, US forces engaged in a firefight with auxiliary forces of the Syrian army, according to the Russian news agency Sputnik. There are no reports of casualties.

Around 50 US special forces soldiers in 13 helicopters were reported to be involved in the daring raid.

The person killed in the operation 'had been a resident of the area for years and is likely an Islamic State' group leader, the Britain-based Observatory for Human Rights said.

It is the first such operation in government-held territory, the war monitoring group added, which relies on a wide network of sources in Syria.

The village targeted lies 17 kilometers (10 miles) south of the city of Qamishli, which is controlled by Syrian government forces, according to the Observatory and AFP correspondents.

In July, the Pentagon said it killed Syria's a top IS jihadist in a drone strike in the northern part of the country.

CENTCOM said he had been 'one of the top five' leaders of Islamic State overall.

The July strike came five months after a nighttime US raid in the town of Atmeh, which led to the death of the overall Islamic State leader, Abu Ibrahim al-Qurashi. The one-legged ISIS chief had rigged his house with explosives and blew himself and his family to pieces when US Special Forces arrived, because his disability stopped him using a suicide vest. Officials believe al-Qurashi, who was tracked down after a drone spotted him bathing on the building's roof last year, himself detonated the explosives that killed him and his family at his home in the sleepy village of Atmeh near the Turkish border on February 2.

They also revealed officials had thought they had a good chance of taking al-Qurayshi alive because of his issues with a suicide belt and had made plans to turn him over to another government.

The troops safely brought four children from the second floor out of the house. But a toddler was found dead there. Officials said the child was likely killed by the concussive effects of the third-floor explosion and not shot in the gunfight.

An ISIS member, described as a lieutenant of al-Qurashi's, and his wife were on the second floor, with as many as five children. All are believed to have been killed in the blast.

After losing their last territory following a military onslaught backed by the US-led coalition in March 2019, the remnants of IS in Syria mostly retreated into desert hideouts. They have since used such hideouts to ambush Kurdish-led forces and Syrian government troops while continuing to mount attacks in Iraq.

#6  LOL they could do this with the cartels if they wanted. But they don't want to. The US army guards the borders of other nations - not our own.

Britain-based Observatory for Human Rights said.

Either they're a front organization or they're so far gone they're backing the military-industrial complex.

US-controlled militants intensify in Syria - Russian Defense Ministry
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] U.S.-backed militants are stepping up in Syria, Major General Oleg Yegorov, deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties in Syria, said at a briefing on October 5.
SDF (Kurds)? Someone else? It would be really helpful if Major General Yegorov gave some hint of who these undisciplined people are, or at least where they’re operating.
In his opinion, this is evidence of the inability of the US military to control the zone they occupied.

"We pay special attention to the fact that illegal armed formations sponsored by the United States are increasing their activity. Since August 1, 2022, there have already been eight artillery strikes of positions of government forces. This indicates the inability of the American command to control the situation in the zone occupied by the US armed forces," he said.

"On October 4, at 18:30 Moscow time, a group of terrorists traveling in a pickup truck attempted to break out from the territory of the zone, while firing at the stronghold of the Syrian Arab Army from a heavy machine gun. The attempted breakthrough was thwarted by the fire action of the Syrian government units, the attackers fled to the territory occupied by the United States. As a result of the clashes, one Syrian soldier was injured," added Yegorov.
