Afghanistan
Journalist in Kapisa in Islamic Emirate’s Custody: Family
[ToloNews] Abdul Hanan Mohammadi, a local journalist in the central province of Kapisa, has been detained by Islamic Emirate’s forces for around three months now, the family claimed.

The family said that Mohammadi was arrested without having committed any crime.

Mohammadi’s mother, who has been in despair for the past three months, said that her son was detained while covering a report in Kapisa.

"They didn’t accept my complaint and didn’t let me see him...my son is innocent and I wish he was free," she said.

"My brother was a journalist and was preparing a report. We call on the Islamic Emirate to release him," said Mohammadi’s brother, Abdullah Khan.

"We wrote a complaint letter and signed it for them to release him. They took the letter but didn’t let us see him," said Shah Wali, Mohammadi’s uncle.

This comes as the media-supporting organization expressed concerns over the detention of the journalists in the country.

"They should hand over the cases of Mohammadi and other journalists in detention to the commission of media violation, so it can be pursued through the (commission)," said Farhad Behroz, deputy head of the Afghanistan’s Freelance Journalists Union.

The provincial officials did not provide information.

"He is not detained because of being a journalist. The intelligence and security departments might have arrested him for other issues," said Bilal Karimi, deputy front man for the Islamic Emirate.

Based on available numbers of media watchdogs, more than 130 cases of violence against journalists have been registered, of which 101 are cases of detention.

Local Officials Say Over 80% of Houses Searched in Herat City
[ToloNews] Local officials in the western province of Herat
...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns...
said that more than 80 percent of houses have been searched by the Islamic Emirate forces in the province's capital city.

Herat governor’s front man Hamidullah Mutawakil said the house-to-house searches are aimed at collecting illegal weapons from the city and providing proper security in the province.

"During the fall of the former government, some of the weapons were captured by the people. We have launched this operation to prevent the misuse of these weapons," he said.

Meanwhile,
...back at the dirigible, Jack stuck the cigar in his mouth, stepped onto the gantry, and asked Got a light, Mac?

Von Schtinken stopped short, lowering the dagger and trying to control his features.

If you light that thing, Herr Armschtröng, he pointed out, his voice tense, we all die!...

the house-to-house search have also faced reactions from the residents of the city.

Some of the residents are happy with the house-to-house searches and said they are effective in ensuring security, but others said that it is a violation of the personal privacy of the people.

"They have searched our house respectfully while the community leader was present," said Sayed Ahmad, a resident of Herat.

"We had a place for our calmness, which was our home, but, unfortunately, our houses are also being searched now," said Naseer Ahmad Qarizada, a resident of Herat.

The house-to-house searches began a week ago. According to security officials, the house-to-house searches are expected to begin in provincial districts.

"When we go to any house, first we move the women to one room. Then the Mujahideen come and search the house," said Lily Mirzai, a policewoman.

Some weapons and ammunition have been seized in the house-to-house searches, the officials said.

According to VOA, the NRF spokesperson, Sebghatullah Ahmadi has reported that the NRF led by Ahmad Massoud has been able to repel a strong attack of the Taliban forces on their military bases in Enaba, Rukha, Bazarak, Dara, Abashar and Khenj districts of Panjshir province.

Ahmadi has also claimed that the Taliban forces have been defeated carrying high casualties with at least 32 deaths and 13 injuries.

The number of casualties NRF forces had in this ambush is yet to be reported.

The Taliban has not yet commented about the reported incident, however, they have recently assigned Mullah Abdul Qayoum Zakir, one of their prominent leaders as the lead for Panjshir and Andarab wars, the two places where NRF forces have military presence.

Somalia military deals major blow to Al-Shabaab in south, 100 fighters killed
[Garowe] The Somali National Army [SNA] claims to have killed over 100 al-Shabaab
...... the personification of Somali state failure...
snuffies in the past few weeks following a sustained operation across the country targeting various terror groups which have been killing innocent civilians in the Horn of Africa nation.

A statement released by the Somali National Army on Sunday maintained that with the help of local communities and regional militia, the military was able to capture several strategic towns mainly within HirShabelle, Galmadug, and Southwest state, which are constant targets of al-Shabaab.

The military noted that some of the areas targeted were Galgaduud, Hiiraan, and the Bay region where the al-Shabaab has been a domineering figure for the last couple of years. Through these towns, the military noted, al-Shabaab has managed to antagonize locals successfully.

"The Somali National Army [SNA] with the assistance of the local militia have liberated several villages in HirShabelle, Galmadug, and Southwest, killing over 100 al-Shabaab snuffies in the process," read the statement, which comes amid heightened al-Shabaab activities in the country.

"The operations to weed out terrorism shows the commitment of the government to set the country free from gunnies and groups like al-Shabaab and has been going on for the last couple of months," the military added in the statement.

While thanking locals for their concerted effort to degrade the group, the military insisted that it shall continue with operations in the next couple of months, adding that it's keen to liberate areas where al-Shabaab has been controlling with impunity for the last couple of years.

"The terror group has been using these towns as strongholds to organize attacks using explosives and jacket wallahs on different parts of the country, " the military noted, in one of the major milestones within the federal republic of Somalia.

Al-Shabaab snuffies have been targeting humanitarian trucks and innocent civilians, a move meant to suffocate the population which is already fighting drought and hunger.

The snuffies are also keen to expand their revenue collection schemes, a move which has been severally thwarted by local officials in Somalia.

Al-Shabaab loses two villages to Somali military

in the south of the Hiran region.

Among the areas that al-Shabaab has removed are Harar-lugole and Fidow in the south of Hiran region, and there are casualties as a result of the war on both sides.

The government media reported that the areas of Harar-lugole and Fidow were cleared of al-Shabaab after government forces carried out an operation there.

The military officials were also quoted as saying the operation against al-Shabaab will continue until they remove the bully boyz from the entire region.

Arabia
Saudi authorities seize around 250,000 illegal pills stashed in drilling equipment
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Authorities in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
seized 249,779 amphetamine pills and 25 kilograms of hashish from smugglers, the official Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.

Narcotics officers seized the tablets from a Saudi citizen who had hidden them inside hydraulic drilling equipment and was attempting to smuggle them into the country through Jeddah’s port.

The man was arrested and has been referred to the public prosecutor for further legal action.

In a separate incident, border guards in the Sakam area of Najran

, near the southern border with Yemen

, seized 25 kilograms of hashish from a smuggler.

Legal proceedings were initiated and the contraband was handed over to authorities.

Authorities in the Kingdom regularly thwart attempts by smugglers attempting to bring in drugs from neighboring countries.

Many of the drugs seized originate from Syria and Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
, where an unstable political climate provides a breeding ground for the production of illicit substances.

Smugglers attempt to bring narcotics into wealthier Gulf states including Saudi Arabia, where buyers are likely to pay higher prices.

Saudi prosecution confiscates over $1 bln from gang accused of money laundering
The Soddy Arabia

The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
n General Prosecution has ordered the confiscation of $1.06 billion (4 billion riyals) and a 25-year jail term for a criminal gang accused of money laundering, state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
reported on Monday.

The gang was comprised of one Saudi citizen and five people with other Arab nationalities, state TV said.

Those arrested were referred to the specialized court after the public prosecution accused them of money laundering an amount that exceeded 4.29 billion riyals, Saudi state-run al-Ekhbariya television said.

The foreign nationals were able to conduct illegal money transfers with the help of the Saudi citizen.

"The investigation procedures revealed that the citizen extracted commercial records for a number of entities, opened bank accounts, and handed over the entities and accounts to the residents, who in turn made huge financial operations, financial deposits and transferred them abroad," the report said.

It added that authorities found that the source of the funds resulted from illegal violations of regulations and crimes.

A judgment was issued containing proof of the crimes committed by the gang members and it was ruled that a similar value of funds transferred abroad be confiscated. This is in addition to the confiscation of the proceeds of the crime from funds seized in bank accounts and commercial real estate.

The court also decided to impose a fine that amounted to 200 million riyals on those involved. The Saudi national was sentenced to 10 years in jail and will be prohibited from leaving the country for the same time span. The residents, according to al-Ekhbariya, were sentenced to 25 years in prison and will be prevented from entering the Kingdom again after serving time.

German police kill man who yelled ‘Allah Akbar' during knife attack
[Uvalde cops, shame on you. This is how it's done.]
[Remix] Authorities in Germany have shot and killed a knife-wielding attacker who stabbed two pedestrians while shouting "Allahu Akbar" near to the train station in the German city of Ansbach on Thursday evening.

Investigators have not yet confirmed a terrorist or Islamist motive, as seen in other recent attacks across the country, but police are still actively investigating this possibility.

Two victims were injured in the attack, but as seen in the video below, they belonged to a larger group of people. The two victims are not thought to have suffered life-threatening injuries and no police were injured.

— Anabel (@ainyrockstar) September 8, 2022
According to the authorities, police utilized their firearms at approximately 6:00 p.m., resulting in the attacker suffering grave wounds and dying on the spot despite immediate resuscitation attempts.

The alleged perpetrator was a 30-year-old man, a police spokesman said, and confirmed that while he was known to police, authorities were reluctant adding, "We know who he is," but did not want to give more details as the investigation is ongoing, according to the Die Welt daily.

Searches are currently underway in the surrounding area.

According to the police, the man attacked several passers-by south of the station and injured at least two people with a knife. It cannot currently be ruled out that the 30-year-old attacked passers-by indiscriminately.

Police are calling on witnesses to come forward.

Palestinian woman armed with knife arrested at Jerusalem-area checkpoint
[IsraelTimes] Suspect, 24, drops knife after officers fire into air at al-Jib checkpoint; troops arrest two wanted Paleostinians in overnight raids

A Paleostinian woman armed with a knife was arrested at a checkpoint on the outskirts of Jerusalem on Sunday morning, police said.

The woman approached the al-Jib checkpoint’s vehicle crossing by foot with a knife drawn, a Border Police front man said.

Officers had gun sex and she dropped the knife before being detained.

The suspect, 24, is a resident of the nearby Paleostinian village of al-Jib, police said.

In her initial questioning, she allegedly admitted she sought to commit a stabbing attack, according to law enforcement officials.

Israeli troops have repeatedly come under gunfire during nightly raids in the West Bank, during a months-long effort against Paleostinian terrorists.

The military launched the operation, dubbed Breakwater, after a series of deadly attacks that killed 19 people between mid-March and the beginning of May. More than 1,500 suspects have been detained since the start of the operation.

In raids during the predawn hours of Sunday, troops arrested two wanted Paleostinians, the Israel Defense Forces said.
