Live guided air-to-air missile discovered at Florida airport near Tampa
[American Partisan, lots of pics, showing missile shipping crate with serial numbers] A live air-to-air, radar-guided missile was just discovered at the Lakeland Linder Airport in Florida, East of Tampa, and the airport was ordered to evacuate. We have analyzed the markings of the missile storage container and discovered this missile is a Matra R530F missile, which uses radar guidance and could be used to bring down Air Force One or a similar-sized airplane.

We also know that communist China has been smuggling weapons components into the United States to arm Black Lives Matter terrorist groups with automatic weapons upgrades and illegal suppressors.
This is highly relevant to current events, given that a U.S. Air Force helicopter used to help provide security to President Trump during short flights was fired upon last week, causing an emergency landing to be initiated, after which one occupant required hospitalization, according to media reports.

Afghanistan
Iraqi Al Qaeda Emir Assigned to Lead Daesh’s Khorasan Branch: BBC
[ToloNews] An Iraqi citizen, Shahab al Muhajir, has been appointed as the new designated governor of ISIS’s Khorasan branch, according to an investigative report by BBC Urdu that says the group is seeking to mobilize its fighters in Afghanistan.

According to reports, Shahab al Muhajir was a commander of al-Qaeda in Afghanistan
...moved to the competition for better career opportunities? Fascinating.
and had plotted a recent attack on Nangarhar

prison on August 3. The attack ended after almost 20 hours and left at least 30 people dead and 50 others maimed. Many ISIS fighters were imprisoned in the prison, according to officials.

The BBC report says that ISIS is trying to once again emerge from Nangarhar and Kunar province
... which is right down the road from Chitral. Kunar is Haqqani country.....
s that share border areas with Pakistain.

"ISIS's presence was ended recently in Nangarhar and in the eastern zone, but after the prison attack, people once again became concerned about activities of the group in the province," said Obaidullah Shinwari, deputy head of Nangarhar Provincial Council.

"Th capacity that they are at is concerning for Afghans. The Afghan government should assess all dimensions of this project and it should share it with the government and take action against it," said Kabul Jan Tadbir, a political affairs analyst.

According to the report, former governors of ISIS’s Khorasan branch who were from Afghanistan and Pakistain have failed in their activities, therefore ISIS has assigned an Iraqi national to this post.

"They want to recreate their formation and basics and resume their activities," said Bismillah Afghanmal, former governor of Zabul.

"The people of Afghanistan are rarely providing the opportunity for ISIS and al-Qaeda terrorist groups; therefore, they have no option but to assign a foreign member. Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, bullets whapped! around Butch as he tried to tie his scarf around his shoulder as a tourniquet......
foreigners are the main financer of terrorist groups in Afghanistan, particularly ISIS and al-Qaeda," said Farogh Halim, an international affairs analyst.

On August 3, Acting Interior Affairs Minister Massoud Andarabi in a tweet said that Shahab Al Mujahir is a Haqqani member.

"Haqqani and the Taliban

carry out their terrorism on a daily basis across Afghanistan and when their terrorist activities does not suit them politically, they rebrand it under ISKP (ISIS’s Khorasan Branch)."

ISIS sees Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistain and parts of Central Asia as the province of Khorasan.

The entire leadership of Britannia's biggest Moslem charity has resigned after it emerged that it had replaced a trustee who had stepped down over antisemitic posts with a man who glorified terror attacks against Israel, and described the Jewish state as the "Zionist enemy."

Stuck at border, migrants still hope for asylum in US
[DW] In 2018, a group of Central Americans set off for the US, desperate to claim asylum. Their arduous trek made headlines. Today, many of them are still stranded on the US-Mexican border.

In early March, Maria, a 45-year-old Nicaraguan whose name has been changed for her safety, learned she will not be granted asylum in the United States.

Global attention, which once focused on the migrants colonists' plight, has since shifted to other crises across the world. Desperate migrants colonists like Maria and thousands of others from countries including Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala, seem all but forgotten.

Europe
Occupied Cypriot town of Varosha to illegally open for Turkish colonisers
[GREEKCITYTIMES] The so-called Prime Minister of occupied northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar said the revival of Varosha (Βαρώσια), now an eerie collection of derelict hotels, churches and residences, would bring trade and tourism benefits.

Varosha, a southern suburb of the city of Famagusta, has been a ghost town since the illegal invasion that partitioned the eastern Mediterranean island along ceasefire lines into an occupied Ottoman Turkish side and the Republic of Cyprus.

The move will anger Greek Cypriots, 39,000 of whom once lived in Varosha before fleeing advancing Ottoman Turkish forces 46 years ago, and stoke tensions between the two sides.

Ersin Tatar said "Varosha lies within TRNC territory," he said, referring to the unrecognized Ottoman Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. "Nobody can take it from us. We are successfully continuing on our path. The inventory work is almost complete, we are in the opening phase."

In early August, TRNC authorities said the opening could happen in October, when the elections in the north are due to take place, having been delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Famagusta Mayor Simos Ioannou said on Thursday that reunification talks need to start as soon as possible to avert the colonisation of Varosha.

"After the election of the Ottoman Turkish Cypriot leader, talks need to definitely start," he said.

Greek Cypriots today live mainly in the south of the island, a republic that is in the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
and recognised by every country in the world except The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
. Recognised only by Turkey, the TRNC is considered by the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
to be part of the Republic of Cyprus.

The Ottoman Turkish Army maintains a large force in Northern Cyprus. While its presence is supported and approved by the TRNC government, it is regarded as an occupational force by the Republic of Cyprus, the European Union as a whole, and the international community. The TRNC has been denounced in several United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Since Turkey illegally invaded northern Cyprus, tens of thousands of Ottoman Turkish colonisers have moved from Turkey to the island, mostly living in homes formerly belonging to Greek Cypriots.

Talks on unification between the two sides in recent years have made no significant progress, and tensions have been rising in the region due to Turkey’s attempts to steal hydrocarbon exploration rights off the coast of the island.

Iraq
Lack of services, security hinder return of Diyala IDPs six years after ISIS liberation
[Rudaw] Displaced Kurdish families from the towns of Jalawla and Sadia in Diyala province have told Rudaw they are reluctant to return home, six years after liberation from the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
terror group (ISIS).

"For us, there is no life in Sadia, no services, no security. The population has dwindled dramatically. Where to return? I no longer have a home there," Sana Mahmood, a Kurdish IDP from Sadia told Rudaw in Qoratu camp.

The war-battered towns of Jalawla and Sadia lie in disputed areas claimed by both Erbil and Baghdad, now controlled by Shiite militia groups under network of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF, or Hashd al Shaabi in Arabic). The towns fell to ISIS in June 2014 and were retaken in November of the same year following a major joint operation by the Kurdish Peshmerga and Iraqi forces.

Before ISIS, Jalawla had a population of 80,000, 80 percent of whom were Arabs. Sadia was home to 40,000 people, the vast majority of whom were also Arabs.

More than 85 percent of their Kurdish inhabitants now live in camps, or in towns and cities across the Kurdistan Region.

Qoratu IDP Camp was built in the Garmiyan administration in the summer of 2015, sheltering more than 540 Kurdish and Arab families. Under pressure from the Iraqi government as part of a nationwide campaign to encourage IDPs to return to the liberated areas, many of them went home. There are only 143 families remaining, the majority of them Kurds.

But returning home is not easy.

Kurdish IDP Manahl Wahid returned home to Sadia shortly after its liberation, only to go back to the camp a week later.

"We returned out of fear," Wahid said. "Sadia is dangerous."

"Those who randomly return have some sort of backing by some people. That is why it is easy for them to return," said an Arab IDP who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

"It is a lie if somebody says they return to Sadia and Jalawla because they have a home. Those who go back make a house out of tents and plastic. This is wrong. You must return when there is security, where there is authority to protect you," he added.

A Kurdish local official says association with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and Kurdish political parties is a main factor discouraging IDPs from returning home.

"The Kurdish families from Jalawla and Sadia, those who have members in the Kurdish political parties, or those who are KRG employees are very much afraid to return to their areas," said Bestoon Zhazhlaiy, in charge of humanitarian affairs in Garmiyan.

"They are afraid of ISIS (ISIS) and other militia groups associated with Hashd," he added.

Many homes remain destroyed after the fight with ISIS, according to Zhazhlaiy.

Coalition leaves Taji military base
[Rudaw] The Global Coalition to defeat the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) on Sunday officially departed Taji military base, transferring $347 million in equipment and property to Iraq in the latest of base transfers.

"This is truly a historic day," said Maj. Gen. Kenneth Ekman, deputy commander of Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, according to a statement circulated by the coalition.

"For the past six years, Camp Taji has served as a primary installation for Coalition partners to train the Iraqi Army, Iraqi Air Force, and the Qwat al-Khasah (Special Forces)."

"From this day forward, the ISF [Iraqi Security Forces] will take full responsibility for the facilities and programs at Taji and continue to use the site to lead and conduct training as part of the mission to defeat ISIS remnants," he added, using the Arabic acronym for ISIS.

"The Coalition transferred $347 million in equipment and property to the Government of Iraq. This was the highest dollar figure of any base transfer," according to the statement.

The base is located north of Baghdad.

The transfer came a week after the coalition handed over Taji's ammunition facility to the Iraqi forces.

In recent months, the coalition has withdrawn from several Iraqi bases and repositioned troops after successes in the campaign to defeat ISIS and to protect personnel amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is the eighth base to be transferred to Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) this year, according to the statement.

The remaining coalition troops will "depart Taji after completion of equipment transfers to the ISF in the coming days."

The majority of coalition troops departed the base earlier this summer.

Taji has been targeted in a number of rocket attacks said to be by Iran-linked groups.

Two Americans and one Briton were killed in a rocket attack on the base in March.

Baghdad invited the US-led international coalition to intervene in Iraq in 2014 as ISIS seized control of vast areas of northern Iraq and neighbouring Syria. Some 7,500 foreign troops formed part of the 81-country coalition; over 5,000 of them were American.

But with ISIS territorially defeated in Iraq in 2017, US military presence in the country has met increasing opposition, particularly from Iran-backed militias and political parties.

Iraq to ‘significantly’ cut gas imports from Iran next year: Iraqi finance minister
[Rudaw] Iraq will "significantly" reduce its heavy reliance on Iranian energy imports by as soon as next year, Iraq's finance minister said in an online interview with an American international affairs think tank on Friday.

Minister Ali Allawi's comments to the Atlantic Council on the future of his country's energy sector follow Iraq's latest round of strategic dialogue with the United States, a longtime adversary of Iran.

"This is has been going on for several years now, it is unlikely we can find a short term substitute, but a medium-term effort can be done by linking the Iraqi grid to the Gulf grid," Allawi said. "The dependence on Iranian electricity and energy will begin to trail down significantly sometime next year."

Iraq appeals for US help in Turkey row
[THEBAGHDADPOST] Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi has described Ottoman Turkish attacks on Iraqi soil as "unacceptable" and urged the US to resolve the dispute in a meeting with US President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
.Ankara and Baghdad have been negotiating since mid-June to solve the dispute over Ottoman Turkish offensives in Kurdistan and other disputed territories. However,
ars longa, vita brevis...
alienating The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
could pose an economic threat to Iraq as Ankara is a key trading partner.

The Iraqi constitution bans the use of its territory to attack neighboring countries.

"The only potential US card to play is the personal relationship between Trump and Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important...
. He could ask Ankara to temporarily halt its cross-border activities," Joe Macaron, a Middle East foreign policy analyst at the Arab Center, said

Macaron doubts that the US will impose sanctions or threaten Erdogan to achieve this objective.

On Aug. 11 a Ottoman Turkish dronezap in northeastern Iraq killed two Iraqi border guards and the driver of their vehicle. The Iraqi military called it "flagrant aggression".

The drone attack coincided with alleged meetings of Iraqi high-ranking officials with members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), who are based in northern Iraq.

Baghdad canceled a Ottoman Turkish ministerial visit and summoned the Ottoman Turkish ambassador in response to the strike.

The Kurdistan Regional Government Ministry of Interior also urged Turkey and the PKK to continue fighting outside Iraq.

Macaron said there is an informal between Turkey, Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
and the Kurdistan Regional Government against the PKK in northern Iraq. He added that there is little the US can do on an issue that is viewed as low-priority.

"Turkey has military bases inside the Iraqi border and there are several pending challenges between Ankara and Baghdad, including the water quota in the Tigris and Euphrates rivers," he said.

During the 1990s Turkey launched several military incursions into northern Iraq and established a dozen military bases in the region.

Macaron says the success of any mediation will require Arab pressure on the US to become involved.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein also urged his Egyptian, Jordanian, Saudi and Kuwaiti counterparts, as well as the Arab League
...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing...
, for diplomatic backing to confront Ankara and force it to "pull out its troops who have infiltrated Iraq."

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Cops gone wild: Protesters stay calm as police lose control at Balfour
[JPost] - On Saturday night, some 10,000 people gathered outside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s official residence on the corner of Balfour Street in Jerusalem to protest his continued term as Israel’s political leader.

The protesters were mostly peaceful. They were a diverse group of older and younger Israelis from across the religious and socioeconomic spectrum. It was no different than any of the other protests that have been held there every Saturday night for the last few months.
Never mind he got to be PM via scrupulously honest election - in Israel there are no such things as mail in ballots, and every party sends representatives to the voting centers (there even were voting centers for covid positive - the personnel wore full hazmat suits). Well, how does it go "If 90% of the population disagree with us - these 90% are Enemies of the People!"
But this Saturday night the situation seemed to spiral out of control. The catalyst? The Jerusalem Police District. Early in the evening, the police refused a request from the protesters to march from the Bridge of Strings at the entrance to Jerusalem to Balfour Street. While several hundred protesters took matters into their own hands and marched — that should not be allowed — the police reacted with extreme force.
Nobody got dead, or even hospitalized. What "extreme force"?
One officer, Niso Guetta, was filmed walking over to a protester and simply slamming him to the ground. Guetta then went after another protester, hitting him directly in the face. He then dragged the protester on the street. How do we know this? Because it was all caught on camera.
I guess cops got tired of "mostly peaceful" protesters

Iran official says sabotage caused fire at Natanz nuclear site
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]
Well done, invisible saboteur! The Jerusalem Post adds:
The Jerusalem Post was the first to report that around three-quarters of the facility for advanced centrifuge development had probably been destroyed and that this could delay the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s large scale deployment of such centrifuges for between one to two years.

Former Israeli and US intelligence officials told the Post that they believed the earth-shattering kaboom was most likely the result of an old-fashioned physical sabotage operation, despite speculation that it could have been a cyber attack.

Though an unknown supposed Iranian dissident group called the Homeland Cheetahs took credit for the earth-shattering kaboom, former intelligence officials said that if such dissidents were involved in an operation of that size, it was likely with help from some combination of the US, Israel or Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
According to foreign sources, during the 2009-2010 period, Israel and the US used the Stuxnet computer virus to sabotage between 1,000-2,000 centrifuges in a different facility also at Natanz.

#2  Why would the Iranians admit this? It seems a bit damning. Although they do neglect to mention whose missiles, exactly.

Also, I thought the black boxes went to France or somewhere.

#3  They're proud their non-photoshopped missiles actually hit something (albeit civilian) twice!
