Immigration Watch: Feds: Man charged in Minnesota stabbing was in US illegally
[FoxNews] A man accused of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend in Minnesota before slashing his own throat re-entered the U.S. illegally after being deported in 2012, federal authorities said Wednesday.

Fraider Diaz-Carbajal, 35, was charged Monday with second-degree murder in the Aug. 12 death of Enedelia Perez Garcia, 27, who died in his apartment in the Minneapolis suburb of Shakopee. Authorities said she suffered multiple stab wounds all over her body.

Diaz-Carbajal was initially hospitalized in critical condition, then booked into jail Monday. Bail was set at $1.5 million.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman Shawn Neudauer told The Associated Press on Wednesday that Diaz-Carbajal was deported to Mexico in December 2012 because he had entered the country illegally, then racked up a criminal record that included three drunken-driving convictions and one for domestic assault. The spokesman said Diaz-Carbajal sometime later entered the country illegally again, and that that's a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

ICE has placed an immigration detainer on him with the Scott County Jail, Neudauer said, meaning the agency has probable cause to believe Diaz-Carbajal is deportable. It gives ICE authority to take custody of him if he's released for any reason.

According to the criminal complaint, a woman who lived in the man's apartment told police she heard Garcia and Diaz-Carbajal arguing and Garcia yelling "drop the knife." She saw him pinning Garcia down and stabbing her, the complaint added. She then saw him slash his own throat and stab himself several times, it said. The witness told police Garcia and Diaz-Carbajal had dated for three years before they broke up about a month ago.

Immigrant Watch: MS-13 gang member, in US illegally, pleads guilty in brutal quadruple killing
[FoxNews] An illegal immigrant and member of the MS-13 gang faces a life sentence after pleading guilty Monday to taking part in the vicious massacre of four young men on New York's Long Island, in a case that was highlighted by President Trump.

Josue Portillo, 17, but charged as an adult, pleaded guilty in federal court to racketeering charges and for his participation in the April 2017 murders of Justin Llivicura, Michael Lopez Banegas, Jefferson Villalobos and Jorge Tigre in the woods behind a Central Islip, N.Y., soccer field, prosecutors claim. He’s now facing up to life in prison when he is sentenced Jan. 10.

The case was emphasized by President Trump in May at an event on Long Island, the epicenter of MS-13 gang killings in the country, to push for tighter immigration controls, which included the families of the three of the four slain men, the New York Times reported.

Portillo admitted that he planned the murders with other members of the notorious gang, whose motto is “Kill, rape, control.” They believed the four men were rival gang members. The victims were then lured to the woods and attacked with machetes, knives and clubs.

The prosecutors said Portillo entered the U.S. illegally from El Salvador. Many of the MS-13 members are from El Salvador and Honduras, with many of them coming into the country illegally. Increasingly, however, the gang is recruiting young teenagers who were born in the U.S.

The killer was only 16 at the time of the murders and the authorities initially charged him as a juvenile together with other members and associates of the gang, according to the Times. But the judge decided Portillo should be tried as an adult, saying the teen was charged with “four heinous, premeditated murders” and posed a danger to the community.

Taliban plan to attend Afghan talks in Moscow, says Russia
[DAWN] Russia said on Tuesday that the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
had accepted an invitation for talks next month, in what promises to be one of the bully boy group’s biggest diplomatic forays since the 2001 US-led invasion.

The announcement of the planned talks comes as the Taliban have expanded their footprint across Afghanistan and launched an unrelenting wave of attacks, including a prolonged assault on Ghazni, a strategic city near Kabul, earlier this month.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Moscow invited the Taliban to the Sept 4 talks and was hoping for "productive" negotiations. "The first reaction was positive, they are planning to take part in the meeting," he added.

There was no immediate comment from the Taliban.

Africa North
The war in the desert Why the Sahara is terror's new front line
[BBC] It is just before 15:00 on Saturday in Timbuktu and the intense desert heat has reached its peak.

Five years ago, Islamist occupiers were driven out of the historical town - but violent extremists have never been far away.

A few people are browsing through the silver jewellery and leatherwork at a small Tuareg curio market by the security checkpoint at the airport entrance.

It’s on the outskirts of town and both French troops and UN peacekeepers have set up what they call a "super-camp" there. At this sleepy time of day, people are working inside their air-conditioned containers and all that can be heard is the low hum of generators. Then, blaring sirens.
JNIM (Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin) is mentioned, the current local incarnation of Al Qaeda in North Africa.

Saudi Arabia 'seeks death penalty' for female activist
[Al Jazeera] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...

activists who are currently being tried by the country's terrorism tribunal, according to rights groups.

Among the detainees is Israa al-Ghomgham, who Saudi activists say is the first woman to face capital punishment for human rights-related work.

Human Rights Watch (HRW) said in a statement on Tuesday the charges against the activists "do not resemble recogniseable crimes" and include "incitement to protest", "chanting slogans hostile to the regime" and "providing moral support to rioters".

Authorities have held the five activists, along with another not facing the death penalty, in pretrial detention without legal representation for more than two years.

They are due to appear in court again on October 28, according to HRW.

"Any execution is appalling, but seeking the death penalty for activists like Israa al-Ghomgham, who are not even accused of violent behaviour, is monstrous," said Sarah Leah Whitson, Middle East director at HRW.

ALQST, a UK-based group advocating for human rights in Saudi Arabia, previously reported the public prosecutor's decision on Twitter on Sunday.

The rights group also denied social media reports that the detainees had already been executed, saying the case was "still under review."

Rejected asylum seekers denied food in Hungary: HRW; Croatian police beat them at Bosnian border
[Al Jazeera] Hungarian authorities have stopped food distribution for rejected asylum seekers held in transit zones on the country's border with Serbia since early August, according to Human Rights Watch (HRW).

In a report published on Wednesday, HRW called for the Hungarian government to adhere to its legal obligations and ensure that all asylum seekers in jug are provided with sufficient and appropriate food.

"The government has stooped to a new inhumane low by refusing food to people in their custody, apparently revelling in breaching human rights

"This disregard for people's wellbeing smacks of a cynical move to force people to give up their asylum claims and leave Hungary".

Migrants in Bosnia complain of beatings by Croatian police

[AlAhram] Many refugees and migrants, some showing their cuts and bruises, accuse Croatian police of beating them before turning them back as they try to cross from Bosnia, an increasingly popular Balkan transit point as other borders into the European Union close.

Croatia, the EU's newest member, denies accusations its border police are rough handling would-be refugees fleeing war and poverty in Asia and North Africa to find a new life in mainstream Europe.

It dismisses reports of police brutality and says the Croatian border force is acting in line with international standards.

Many of the estimated 5,000 migrants camped near the border tell a different story, though.

"Croatia is a big problem," shouted a group of Pakistanis interviewed in the woods where they live in tents near the town of Bihac, each showing the cracked screens of their mobile phones which they say were damaged by Croatian police.

"The Croatian police, they see someone who is Arabic, a Muslim, and look what happened," said Mohammad, 40, from Gaza speaking in Italian, showing bruises on his back, arms and knees.

"Racist, racist Croats," said Mohammad whose goal is to reach Italy, where his wife and daughter live.

Bosnia, which itself went through a devastating war in the 1990s, is coping with a sudden influx of refugees and migrants. About 11,000 people from Asia and North Africa are registered as arriving so far this year.

The impoverished country was spared the refugee influx of 2015 and 2016, when more than one million refugees passed through the Balkans on their way to the European Union. But as borders have closed elsewhere, Bosnia has become a new transit route.

The migrants, most of them from Afghanistan, Iran, Syria and Pakistan, arrive from Serbia and Greece via Albania and Montenegro, according to the Bosnian authorities.

Although officials say 60 percent of those who have arrived have already left the country, volunteers and aid workers who help migrants say at least 5,000 people are stranded in Bosnia.

"Each day about 50 to 60 new people arrive, and I really don't know whether they will also leave the country," said Amira Hadzimehmedovic, a refugee camp manager for the International Organisation for Migrations in Bihac. "It's very, very difficult to give the correct numbers."

The bulk of them are concentrated in two northwestern towns, Bihac and Velika Kladusa, close to the border with Croatia. They live in poor conditions, squeezed into abandoned buildings and tent settlements scattered in the woods.

Most days they lie in makeshift camps, communing with their mobile phones or queuing for meals distributed by aid groups, waiting for their chance to continue their journey.

But neighbouring Croatia, which has a 1,000-kilometre long border with Bosnia, has sealed its borders and is sending back to Bosnia anyone they find with illegal status.

Immigrant Watch: Sweden rape: Most convicted attackers foreign-born
[BBC] About 58% of men convicted in Sweden of rape and attempted rape over the past five years were born abroad, according to data from Swedish national TV.

Public broadcaster SVT said it had counted all court convictions to present a complete picture in Sweden.

But Sweden had thousands more reported rapes, and there is no ethnic breakdown for those.

Immigration and crime are major issues in Sweden's general election campaign. The vote is on 9 September.

The anti-immigration Sweden Democrats hope to make significant ground, although they have slipped to third place in the latest opinion poll.

The Mission Investigation programme, due to be broadcast on Wednesday by SVT, said the total number of offenders over five years was 843. Of those, 197 were from the Middle East and North Africa, with 45 coming from Afghanistan.

The SVT programme revealed that in cases where the victim did not know the attacker, the proportion of foreign-born offenders was more than 80%.

The latest opinion poll on Wednesday suggests the populist party's support has dipped in recent weeks to just over 19% in the polls, but it is still on course for its best performance yet. The Social Democrats are leading the polls while the Moderates are just ahead of the anti-immigration SD.

The Grand Turk
US pastor’s lawyer plans appeal to Turkish constitutional court
[ARABNEWS] The lawyer for the American Christian pastor on trial for terrorism charges in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
said on Wednesday he planned to appeal to the constitutional court to seek Andrew Brunson’s release after being rejected by a lower court last week.

Brunson is at the center of a row between Turkey and the US, which has exacerbated a crisis in Turkey’s lira and reverberated across global markets.

The evangelical pastor, who has lived in Turkey for two decades, has been detained for 21 months on terrorism charges, which he denies. He is under house arrest.

"Once the upper court’s rejection has been confirmed in writing we will apply to the constitutional court," lawyer Ismail Cem Halavurt said in comments reported by Turkey’s Hurriyet newspaper that he confirmed to Rooters.

Once domestic legal avenues are exhausted, if necessary the defense would then apply to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), he said.

"We are hopeful regarding the constitutional court, but if it is rejected there, we will go to the ECHR without hesitation," he said.

The court in Turkey’s Izmir province which last week rejected the appeal said evidence was still being collected and the pastor posed a flight risk, according to a copy of the court ruling seen by Rooters.

Abdulkadir Selvi, a Hurriyet newspaper columnist close to the government, likened the constitutional court appeal plan to the case of journalist Mehmet Altan, who took a similar course of action and was released in June after being tossed in the clink
Please don't kill me!
on charges of aiding coup plotters.

Brunson is accused of terrorism charges and aiding the network of a US-based Islamic preacher blamed by Ankara for criminal masterminding a coup attempt in July 2016 against President Tayyip Erdogan.

In an interview with Rooters on Monday, US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
said he would give Turkey no concessions in return for the release of Brunson. Ankara has not responded to Trump’s comments.

Bolton: Turkey can end lira crisis 'instantly' by freeing pastor
[Al Jazeera] US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
's national security adviser has said that The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund....
could end its lira-battering crisis with Washington "instantly" by freeing a detained American pastor, adding that a Qatar

They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
i cash infusion would not help Ankara's economy.

The Ottoman Turkish currency has been in freefall since Washington ordered tariffs in retaliation for the detention of Pastor Andrew Brunson on charges of complicity in a failed 2016 coup.

Brunson denies wrongdoing, and Ankara has in the past suggested his fate could be linked to that of a US-based Ottoman Turkish religious leader whom Ottoman Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey...
accuses of orchestrating the attempted putsch.

Brunson, who has lived in Turkey for two decades, has been detained for 21 months, charged with terrorism by the Ottoman Turkish government. He is now under house arrest.

"Look, the Ottoman Turkish government made a big mistake in not releasing Pastor Brunson," John Bolton told the Rooters news agency in an interview during a visit to Israel.

"Every day that goes by that mistake continues, this crisis could be over instantly if they did the right thing as a NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....

Organization Behind Massive ‘SUPER EID' Muslim Celebration at Vikings stadium labeled terrorist

participated in the massive two-day event, which included an estimated 15,000 to 30,000 participants. Imam Asad Zamam, executive director of the Muslim American Society in Minnesota, was a featured speaker at the event, according to the event’s website.

Thousands of Muslim participants at the event in the Minnesota Vikings stadium chanted "Allahu akbar" while praying, WND reported. The phrase loosely translates into "God is the greatest," however, it is also frequently used in acts of radical Islamic terrorism.

#1  In 2012, the US Army revoked the security clearance of a soldier arrested on terrorism charges over the weekend because he had shown support for the Islamic State group. But Sgt. 1st Class Ikaika Kang was allowed to stay in the service after having his clearance reinstated in 2013.

Fascinating. How did this guy even make it to a civilian court?

India-Pakistan
Kashmir parties support India-Pakistan talks
[DAWN] Major political parties and the Hurriyat Conference in India-held Kashmire have expressed support for a Kashmire-centric dialogue between India and Pakistain, welcoming the intent for "constructive engagement" expressed by the former and "uninterrupted dialogue" by the latter, The Hindu said on Tuesday.

It said Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, described Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who is the lightweight's lightweight...
and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Wormtongue Qureshi’s remarks of "uninterrupted dialogue on Kashmir" as "a positive development".

"It reflects new positivity. We hope that the channels of communication will remain open to build trust. It is in the interest of Kashmire and also in the interest of the entire region if the two countries come closer and resolve the long-pending Kashmire dispute," he told The Hindu.

The Mirwaiz, who is a part of the Joint Resistance Leadership along with Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Yasin Malik
...chairman of one of the two factions of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front. JKLF is a Kashmiri nationalist organization founded in Birmingham, UK in 1977. Branches weren't actually established in Kashmir for another ten years. It has the usual demands for separation of J&K from secular India so it can become an independent Islamic rathole. It seems to have no interest in Pak Kashmir breaking away to join it. In 1994 Malik renounced violence after he was released from jail and from that point he and his organization pursued peaceful means to impose their will on the region...
, hinted at holding a meeting of various leaders over the latest engagement between India and Pakistain. Kashmire, he said, was a complex issue, and Pakistain had rightly suggested an uninterrupted dialogue.

"The dialogue is the need of the hour. We always support any such initiatives," he said. The Mirwaiz, however, was quick to add that India needed to show reciprocity and "change its current military approach in Kashmire to a political one".

Peoples Democratic Party leader Naeem Akhtar said the two countries had made an encouraging beginning by speaking of talks. "We hope the new government in Pakistain walks the talk and gets adequate response from this side too. Jammu and Kashmire is directly hit by the hostility between the two countries and the progress in the region is held hostage to security concerns. We expect a serious dialogue to follow up the statements," he said.

Head of UN Gaza violence probe resigns
[DAWN] US academic David Crane, head of a United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
Human Rights council commission to investigate recent violence on the Gazoo Strip border, has resigned for "personal reasons" less than a month after he was appointed, the council said on Wednesday.

Vojislav Suc, Slovenian ambassador to the UN in Geneva and president of the council, has accepted the resignation and will have the task of appointing a new president of the commission, which also includes lawyers Sara Hossein from Bangladesh and Betty Murungi from Kenya, an official statement said.

Crane, an expert in international law who is currently a professor at Syracuse University, is also a former prosecutor at the international court in Sierra Leone.

He was appointed on July 25 to investigate the recent violence on the Gazoo Strip border. Protests and festivities began on the border on March 30 and have continued at varying levels since then.

At least 171 Gazooks have been killed by Israeli fire during that time.

UN to US: We spent it foolishly, on medicines and fuel.

Israel opens probe against soldiers who killed two Gaza protesters
[DAWN] Israel’s army announced on Tuesday an investigation into soldiers who shot dead two Palestinian teenagers in separate incidents on the Gaza border, the first such probe in months of protests and clashes.

Its decision to open an investigation was a rare step and comes with Israel having faced international criticism over its use of live fire during unrest along the Gaza frontier.

Israel maintains its use of force is necessary to defend the border and stop infiltrations and attacks.

An army statement said that Abdul Fatah Abdul Nabi, 18, was shot dead near the border fence in the northern Gaza Strip on March 30, one of 20 Palestinians killed that day as Gazans launched a wave of mass protests along the frontier called the “March of Return”.

Tuesday’s army statement did not give the circumstances of Nabi’s death but the military said at the time that 10 of those killed had “documented terror backgrounds” in Islamist movement Hamas and other militant groups and were killed “whilst carrying out acts of terror.”

Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka to end execution moratorium soon, but will send 5 Pakistanis on death row home
[DAWN] Sri Lanka will soon resume executions after a 42-year moratorium but will send home five Paks sentenced to death for drug smuggling for execution in their home country, President Maithripala Sirisena said on Wednesday.

The five are among 18 people, including a woman, on death row for drug offences whose execution will go ahead, according to Sirisena. He did not give a date for the first hanging.

"I am determined to carry out the death penalty
for serious drug offenders and I will start with a list (of 18) given to me by the prisons," he told a public meeting in the north of the country.

Sirisena said he would hold talks with new Prime Minister Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who is the lightweight's lightweight...
on repatriating the condemned Paks and having them executed there. He gave no further details on the feasibility of such a move.

International rights groups and the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
have asked Sri Lanka to reconsider since Sirisena announced last month that he wanted to end the moratorium on hanging.

Russia says over 63,000 troops have fought in Syria
[IsraelTimes] Russia has sent over 63,000 troops to Syria over the course of its involvement in the conflict, the Russian defence ministry says.

A total of 63,012 Russian personnel have "received combat experience" in the war-torn country, the ministry says in a video about Russia’s campaign to support the Syrian regime dating back to September 2015.

This number includes 25,738 ranking officers and 434 generals as well as 4,349 artillery and rocket specialists, it says.

Previously Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said in December 2017 that over 48,000 military personnel had taken part in the Syrian campaign.

EU must speed up efforts to save nuclear deal — Iran state TV
[ARABNEWS] Iran said on Monday that Europe
...also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
should accelerate its efforts to salvage a 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and major powers that was abandoned by US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
in May, Iranian state TV reported.

"Europeans and other signatories of the deal (China and Russia) have been trying to save the deal ... but the process has been slow. It should be accelerated," foreign ministry front man Bahram Qasemi told a weekly news conference broadcast live on state TV.

"Iran relies mainly on its own capabilities to overcome America’s new sanctions."

European states have been scrambling to ensure Iran gets enough economic benefits to persuade it to stay in the deal since US withdrawal from the deal, which Trump said was "deeply flawed."

The United States has imposed sanctions on Iran in August, targeting Iran’s trade in gold and other precious metals, its purchases of US dollars and its car industry.

US, UK, France pledge to act against new Syria chemical attacks
[ARABNEWS] The US, Britannia and La Belle France vowed on the fifth anniversary of a chemical weapons attack that they blame on the Syrian government to take action as they have in the past against any further attacks by Bashir al-Assad’s regime.

A joint statement issued late on Tuesday called the Aug. 21, 2012 sarin nerve gas attack that killed hundreds of people in the Ghouta suburb of Damascus "horrific." The use of sarin led to a US-Russian agreement to eliminate Assad’s chemical weapons, which averted US military strikes against Syria.

Since then, the three Western powers have accused Syria of resorting to the use of chemical weapons during military offensives in Khan Sheikhoun, Ltamenah, Saraqeb and Douma. Following the suspected chemical attack in Douma in April, the US, UK, and La Belle France launched punitive military strikes in Syria.

"As we have demonstrated, we will respond appropriately to any further use of chemical weapons by the Syrian regime, which has had such devastating humanitarian consequences for the Syrian population," the statement said.

The three governments implored Assad’s supporters "to recognize that the unchecked use of chemical weapons by any state presents an unacceptable security threat to all states."

The US, UK and La Belle France also expressed grave concern at reports of a Syrian government military offensive against civilians, schools, hospitals and other civilian infrastructure in the northern province of Idlib, the last major rebel-held bastion, and underlined "our concern at the potential for further ‐ and illegal ‐ use of chemical weapons."

"We remain resolved to act if the Assad regime uses chemical weapons again," the Western allies warned.

The 2012 US-Russia agreement required Syria to join the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and declare all its chemical weapons and precursors.

Top Trump aide turns the screw on Tehran
[ARABNEWS] A top aide to the US president launched a withering attack on Iran on Wednesday, ramping up the diplomatic pressure already applied by Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
Sanctions are devastating the economy, public opinion is turning against the regime and Iranian forces need to leave Syria, National Security Adviser John Bolton said. "Regime change in Iran is not American policy, but what we want is massive change in the regime’s behavior," said Bolton, who before taking office advocated regime change in Iran.

Bolton said he believed Trump’s decision in May to withdraw from the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers, followed by the reimposition of sanctions, was having a stronger effect than expected on pressuring Tehran.

The nuclear deal had allowed Tehran to finance Lion of Islam activity in the region after the lifting of sanctions. The return of US sanctions was having a strong effect on Iran’s economy and popular opinion, Bolton said on a visit to Israel.

US sanctions reimposed this month targeted Iran’s car industry, trade in gold and other precious metals, and purchases of US dollars crucial to international financing and investment and trade relations. Farther-reaching sanctions are to follow in November on Iran’s banking sector and oil exports. "By bringing the hammer down again of reimposing American sanctions, we’ve seen a profound negative effect on Iran ‐ I think actually more serious than we would have predicted," Bolton said.

"I think the effects, the economic effects certainly, are even stronger than we anticipated.

"But Iranian activity in the region has continued to be belligerent ‐ what they are doing in Iraq, what they are doing in Syria, what they are doing with Hezbollah in Leb, what they are doing in Yemen, what they have threatened to do in the Strait of Hormuz.

"There should not be any doubt that the United States wants this resolved peacefully, but we are fully prepared for any contingency that Iran creates."

European powers have been scrambling to ensure Iran secures enough economic benefits to persuade it to stay in the deal. This has proven difficult, with many European firms keen to avoid financial penalties by the Trump administration.

IS chief urges followers to wage ‘jihad’ in new recording
[IsraelTimes] In first purported audio message since September 2017, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi tells Islamic State backers to persevere after rollback of 'caliphate'

The leader of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
jihadist group, His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
...the head of ISIS, or what remains of it, and a veteran of the Abu Graib jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us. So far he has been killed at least four times, though not yet by a stake through the heart...
, called on Moslems to wage "jihad" in a purported new audio recording released on Wednesday.

The Telegram message on the occasion of Eid al-Adha is the first known to be released since another was broadcast in September last year, and comes as IS has lost most of its territory in Iraq and Syria.

"Those who forget their religion, patience, jihad against their enemies, and their certainty in the creator’s promise lose and are disgraced," the leader said.

"But when they hold on to it, they are mighty and victorious, even if after a certain time."

Baghdadi has been pronounced dead on several occasions, but an Iraqi intelligence official said in May that he remains alive in Syrian territory by the Iraqi border.

Baghdadi was said to move around with only a small group of followers.

Originally from Iraq, Baghdadi has been dubbed the "most wanted man on the planet" and the United States is offering a $25 million reward for his capture.

The Iraqi official said the noose was closing around the jihadist leader after Iraqi forces captured five top IS commanders in an unprecedented raid in Syria on March 24.

In September 2017, in the last voice message attributed to Baghdadi, the IS leader called on his fighters in Syria and Iraq to "resist" their enemies.
