About that wall....
[PatriotJournal] Trump Makes Breakthrough On Border Wall - Leaves Democrats In The Dust With 240 Milestone

The media hasn’t discussed Trump’s border wall in recent days. But that doesn’t mean the president hasn’t been making a lot of progress on the Southern border.

Even during the pandemic and “protests,” the president has been battling to secure the border.

In recent years, he’s fought Democrats and managed to find the funding for the border wall. Despite obstruction by the left, his DHS continued construction.

And he’s now announced a new milestone, leaving Democrats in the dust with 240 miles:

We have now built 240 Miles of new Border Wall on our Southern Border. We will have over 450 Miles built by the end of the year. Have established some of the best Border Numbers ever. The Radical Left Democrats want Open Borders for anyone, including many criminals, to come in!

President Trump touted the 240 miles of the new border wall on the Southern border. That includes improvements to existing barriers, particularly in areas that have frequently used by border jumpers.

He called out the radical left’s desire for an open border for “anyone, including many criminals.”

Since day one of his presidency, Trump has fought with Democrats to achieve his signature 2016 promise.

Some supporters have grown frustrated with the slow progress. But progress is being made, despite the left.

He has vowed that 450 miles will be built by the end of the year. His key promise to America is being kept, little by little.

Those Americans who voted for him to secure the border are seeing make good on his vow in real-time.

Georgia Democrat Defends Trump, Eviscerates Black Lives Matter Narrative
[PJ] On Monday, Georgia State Rep. Vernon Jones (D) thanked President Donald Trump for defending law and order and condemned the "hypocritical" Black Lives Matter movement, insisting that all black lives should matter, including the people killed in the riots following the horrific police killing of George Floyd.

"Most people, including black people, they want law enforcement to be out there enforcing the law. I think people just want them to be, they want them to be fair," Jones said at a White House meeting with Trump.

He mentioned the tragic death of Secoriea Turner, an 8-year-old girl shot dead in Atlanta as her mother attempted to park near the Arby’s where Rayshard Brooks had been shot by police.

"We lost a baby girl, too, in Atlanta, 8 years old, and it wasn’t to a police officer. More people have died from the protests of Black Lives Matter than prior to that," Jones insisted. Indeed, at least 22 people have died in the George Floyd riots.

"And so, sometimes it’s hypocritical," the Georgia Democrat continued. "It’s almost as if some black lives matter, but all black lives should matter, and all lives should matter. So I thank you, Mr. President, for what you’re doing and I stand in solidarity with you."

The logic of political violence
[ZBlog] Back in the Cold War, one of the things Americans would puzzle over was the political violence behind the Iron Curtain. Most Americans assumed they would resist the state terrorism they heard about from the media. Of course, they assumed such a thing could never happen in America. Today we are seeing just how easily state sponsored terrorism can get going in any country. The reason is there is a political logic to murder that comes as a part of ideological movements.

The logic of political violence is best understood by considering the way Progressives frame their anti-speech pogroms. They keep equaling words and ideas that vex them with violence. For example, someone posting crime statistics on Twitter is accused of posting violent content or inciting violence. At the same time, BLM burning shops and murdering young white mothers is pure political expression. Language they don’t like is violence and violence they like is free expression.

All acts, speaking or physical activity, are judged in purely partisan terms. That person murdering white mothers on behalf of the Progressive cause is morally good by default, as he is sustaining and advancing the interests of the cause. Similarly, the person who stops laughing too soon at an official joke is consciously or unconsciously working against the interest of the cause. He’s a threat. In other words, all actions are judged only in partisan terms, not in relative terms.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
The American Heritage of Iran's Special Forces
[SOFREP] When looking at Iran’s 65th Airborne Special Force Brigade, you might notice a few striking features similar to U.S SOF units. For example, the Iranians’ yellow enlisted chevrons seem a lot like the yellow chevrons on the old Army greens. Additionally, before the Iranian Revolution, their unit insignia looked a lot like the De Oppresso Liber crest that signifies the United States Army Special Forces.

The distinctive green beret worn by the Iranians may not be the same shade of green worn by today’s U.S. Army Special Forces, but Iranian special operators wear green for a reason — they were trained by Americans.

In the 1960s, the United States sent four operational detachments of Army Special Forces operators to Iran to train the Shah’s Imperial military forces. The Mobile Training Teams spent two years in-country as Military Assistance Advisory Group Iran. Before they could even get to Iran, the soldiers had to pass the Special Forces Officer course at Fort Bragg, then learn Farsi at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. Only then would they be shipped to Iran to train Iranian Special Forces.

More than 1,000 CDC employees sign letter decrying 'toxic culture' of racism in agency
I blame the heat and humidity. I'm recommending immediate construction begin on land adjacent Minot AFB, North Dakota.
[The Hill] As Americans look to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to navigate the country out of the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 1,000 employees at the CDC have penned a letter documenting "ongoing and recurring acts of racism and discrimination" against Black employees, according to NPR.
Some signed, others made their mark.
The letter reportedly addresses the CDC director Robert Redfield and is dated June 30. Among issues outlined in the letter were the CDC’s handling of the pandemic’s disproportionately adverse effects of Black and Latinx Americans, a lack of diversity among senior leadership, as well as the recent slayings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and Rayshard Brooks. The letter’s authors said that the nationwide calls to address systemic racism in the U.S. have prompted them to raise concerns over the agency’s treatment of people of color.
Once again the CDC takes the lead. Other gummit agencies soon to follow.
"In light of the recent calls for justice across this country and around the world, we, as dedicated public health professionals, can no longer stay silent to the widespread acts of racism and discrimination within CDC that are, in fact, undermining the agency's core mission," NPR quotes the letter.

As of Sunday evening, the letter had 1,0007 signatories composed of CDC staff members, representing approximately 9 percent of the agency’s overall workforce.

A CDC spokesperson told reporters that Redfield had seen the letter and that the "CDC is committed to fostering a fair, equitable, and inclusive environment in which staff can openly share their concerns with agency leadership."
A meaningless defense. He should have saved his breath.
The letter’s signatories also demand that the agency "take immediate, direct action" to address the agency’s "toxic culture," with one step being to declare racism a public health crisis in the U.S. Additionally, the letter asks for the creation of oversight committees to enforce better diversity practices and address related issues, BBQ Wednesday, safe spaces and bongs for discussion and revamp the promotion practices among staff and hiring managers.

Daily Implicit bias and cultural sensitivity training is also requested.

#12  Economist and author Thomas Sowell told “Life Liberty & Levin” in an interview airing Sunday evening that the left’s claim that America is beset by “systemic racism” has no definitive meaning and cannot be “tested” in any empirical manner.
“You hear this phrase, ‘systemic racism’ [or] ‘systemic oppression’,” host Mark Levin told Sowell. “You hear it on our college campuses. You hear it from very wealthy and fabulously famous sports stars. What does that mean? And whatever it means, is it true?”
“It really has no meaning that can be specified and tested in the way that one tests hypotheses,” answered Sowell, who added that the currency of the phrase reminds him of the “propaganda tactics” of Nazi Germany, where Sowell claimed that if a lie was “repeated long enough and loud enough” it would be widely beleived.

It’s not just police: Public servants of all stripes are now under assault
[NYPost] ’Is it just me, or is it getting crazier out there?" So asks Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker while meeting his social worker, motioning to Gotham outside the window.

It isn’t just you or the stuff of superhero thrillers. Gotham — the real Gotham — is in chaos, and disrespect for authority, and not just police authority, is sinking it deeper.

New York is suffering a serious slide in livability. Those who can have already fled the city, and it’s a big question mark whether they are coming back. Each day brings a new barrage of online-message-board pleas, from people wondering if they can get out.

For many, it’s the radiating disorder. We watched the New York Police Department stand down as riots smashed neighborhoods in June. We watched our elected officials cower in the face of violent mostly peaceful radicals; many stores remain boarded up.

Mayor de Blasio continues to pretend everything is OK. Instead of calming a worried city, he trolls President Trump by painting street murals. Only his enormous ego surpasses Hizzoner’s incompetence.

Last week, The Post reported that the NYPD is experiencing a 411 percent spike in early retirements. So many officers tried to retire early that the department had to limit the number of permitted daily applications. This is a crisis.

The #DefundPolice fools don’t get it: It isn’t just the police that will suffer as they push the city to the brink.

There have been more than 400 incidents since mid-April "in which transit workers have been battered, spit on or threatened by riders," according to The City news site, citing Metropolitan Transportation Authority figures. These "unruly person" reports are telling a story of mass lawlessness.

The line between "unruly" and "violent mostly peaceful" is razor-thin. In March, a subway operator was punched after asking a man not to ride between the cars. In May, another operator was stabbed by a woman who got into his cab. Last week, a bus driver was hit in the head from behind and woke up in the hospital.

An MTA subway operator told me he has noticed a lot more graffiti — and a curious shift in the people who give him trouble. He said these aren’t "the usual nuisance drunks," but increasingly people fired up by rage, ideological or otherwise. "The cops are slowing down [enforcement], and certain people on the edge are noticing," he says.

One veteran bus driver told me he recently faced a threatening and confrontational rider, who refused to get off at the end of the line. The incident had rattled the driver so badly, he took time off to recuperate.

All the civil servants I spoke with told me they were proud of their roles and felt that part of their job was to handle incidents with the public to the best of their ability. No one wanted to tell me a "sob story." All were concerned about the increasing chaos and tense atmosphere.

One firefighter told me he’s seen an uptick in aggressive behavior that "crosses the line" but said that firefighters generally brush off risks as part of the job. "This is stuff we should be able to handle and mitigate," he said, "and we have enjoyed a comfortable relationship with the public for many years."

He noted that he senses "a pushback against institutional authority right now," and it’s disrupting relationships firefighters have formed in communities. He added that the anti-authority attitude "puts people at odds with us, where normally we would have no problems."

If our mayor is done with his coloring project, perhaps he can notice that the city is falling apart and the people who keep things running are in danger.

I’m a lifelong New Yorker, and I remember our bad old days. Disrespect for anyone in any kind of authority — MTA employees, teachers, police and firefighters — was the standard. Crime went hand-in-hand with that disrespect. We desperately need new leadership to bring us together and pull us back from this moral precipice.

If we love New York, we have to fight for it, starting by choosing leaders who encourage respect for our civil servants. The ones we have now do not.

Yet Another Beatdown - What If They Restarted Sports And No One Came
[Aspen Beat] As for baseball, let’s be honest. It’s boring to watch and it’s even boring to play. Ordinary people who aren’t being paid to play baseball cannot endure it except by playing it co-ed with beer, which makes practically anything endurable including watching paint dry.

About 90% of baseball consists of the players standing around while touching their privates whenever the TV camera is pointed at them or sitting around the dugout pretending to watch the other team while touching their privates. They often spit.
I stopped watching baseball when Steinbrunner ruined the Yankees. Used to be a football fan - today I have no interest in the Woke Football League

#7  A healthy anger release at hating the Yankees or Patriots or whatever. Covid that down and all hell broke loose.

But really, only one side has unleashed hell.

And if sportsball comes back, I'm concerned the normies will all go back to sleep.

Personally, I'm in favor of shutting all pro/college wokeball down.

It'll deprive the left of a means of propagandizing; it will cut into the revenues of people who've made no bones about their hostility to Real America; normies will have less to distract them from what's really happening in this country.

Not to mention all the double standards in the enforcement (and lack thereof) of the shutdowns.

If it's so vital to have shutdowns, then non-essential activities like pro sportsball should be among those bearing the brunt.
