Possibility of civil war in Afghanistan, sez Atta Muhammad Noor
[KhaamaPress] Former warlord in the north of Afghanistan Atta Muhammad Noor
...Balkh-born Tajik who fought against the Soviets in the Mujahideen — they called him The Teacher for his passion for educating the fighters — then against the Taliban in the Northern Alliance, then was appointed governor of Balk province by President Hamid Karzai, in which role he introduced stability and erased poppy cultivation...
in an interview with News Agency that Dare Not be Named blamed both the Afghan government and the US for "irresponsible" withdrawal for the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
’s recent development in particular in gaining territories.

Noor warned that the ongoing situation is quite dangerous and there is a real possibility of another civil war in Afghanistan

He criticized the US for its quick exit from Afghanistan which has left Afghan Security Forces unprepared for the Taliban offensive and totally demoralized.

The former prominent warlord was apparently caught by surprised confessing that he did not expect the Taliban to take 19 districts in 24 hours in northern Badakhshan province.

Once, the governor of northern Balkh province, Atta Muhammad Noor has said in the interview that the Afghan government often leaves Afghan military members without reinforcement and food and paid their salaries irregularly and the situation has given momentum to the Taliban to take more districts even without a fight.

As per Noor, he had advised the Afghan government to unify and to work on the morale of the military but he complained that was not taken seriously.

He also attacked the Afghan government for mistakenly use of the commandos who are given the jobs of holding checkpoints the one for which they have not been trained. Noor added that though well-trained, the Afghan pilots are not given enough rest and are overused as a result most of the planes are on the ground.

Atta Muhammad Noor paid gratitude to the money and manpower given by the US to Afghanistan but complained that the country did less when it comes to making Afghanistan self-sufficient.

He pledged to mobilize his militia to recapture the seized districts of Blakh province back from the Taliban.

#13  My comment was meant to be more like this except it was worded while drunk last night TW.

My dear, I’m awful at noticing drunkenness even when I literally kept company while the other person drank copious amounts — we’ve run the experiment.

I agree that we cannot civilize cultures that are not suited to it. We ran that experiment for twenty years, trying to win hearts and minds with love instead of listening to Machiavelli — teaching them to fear the consequences of misbehaviour. But I also don’t want to indulge them with another opportunity to build up to another 9/11.

Back in 2011, Dave D. wrote the following:

The War on Islamic Terrorism:
What Are Our Options?

If you inventory the full range of options we have for dealing with Islamic terrorism, it turns out there aren't very many of them: fewer than a dozen in all. And they're all bad. Some come up short for the simple reason that they won't work; some because they'd require massive curtailment of our own civil liberties; and some because they would require a level of ruthlessness that most Americans would find repulsive.

Here are the basic options, arranged in roughly ascending order of savagery:

SURRENDER:

Islam's stated mission-- and to Muslims, their manifest destiny-- is to convert the entire world to Islam; we could dispense with this entire war just by becoming Muslims and being done with it. Bow our heads before their hateful god, and accept our fate.

APPEASEMENT:

We could try buying them off by giving them what they say they want: let them wipe Israel off the map and indulge their appetite for murdering Jews; set up shariah courts as a parallel legal system here in the US; teach Islam in our public schools; give special rights to Muslims in America; increase Muslim immigration; increase foreign aid to Muslim countries; open up a "dialog" with the Islamists to promote "mutual understanding"; try diplomacy; whatever. Be nice enough to them, and maybe they'll stop attacking us.

IGNORE THE ATTACKS:

We could try to just ignore atrocities like the Islamic attacks on 9/11 and in Madrid, London, Bali, Israel and Beslan, and chalk such things up as the necessary price for coexisting with Islam. They're violent savages, and we may as well get used to getting hit every so often.

ISOLATE OURSELVES:

We could try withdrawing from the rest of the world and its troubles, keeping our heads down and maintaining a low global profile. Stop the de facto exportation of American/Western culture, if that is what's driving them nuts. And whatever shitstorm breaks loose, just ignore it.

CRIMINAL PROSECUTION:

We could go back to the "Law Enforcement Approach": treating Islamic terrorism as a purely criminal matter just like we did during the Clinton administration, hunting down terrorists who attack us and prosecuting them for their crimes-- but only AFTER they've committed them. The Democratic Party has been making it increasingly clear that this is their preferred approach: the "civil liberties" crowd loves it, and it makes lots of work for lawyers and judges.

LIBERATION & REFORM:

We can do what we're doing right now in Iraq and Afghanistan, which is trying to see if Arab/Islamic society can be detoxified by introducing democratic self-governance. Maybe it can; maybe it can't. We'll see.

Frankly, the results don't look very promising so far; but barring some catastrophe we'll keep trying there at least so long as Bush is in office. After that, though, people are going to insist on coming to conclusions and I suspect many will conclude that liberation and reform of Islamic society is not going to quell the Islamic tendency toward violence.

DOMESTIC OPPRESSION:

We could try to prevent terrorist attacks by turning America into a police state, complete with intrusive government monitoring of all aspects of our lives and the suspension of habeus corpus. Anyone even suspected of terrorist activity or radical Islamic sympathies simply disappears in the middle of the night along with their entire family. People live in constant fear of the authorities.

NOTE: this is what the "Law Enforcement Approach" will morph into when it proves ineffective.

CONQUEST & SUBJUGATION:

We could invade Muslim countries, execute their political and religious leaders, outlaw Islam and bulldoze their mosques, and rule them all with an iron fist. Conquer them, rule them, and extirpate the Islamic menace by force.

INTIMIDATION / DETERRENCE:

We could respond to terrorist attacks on American soil with extravagently disproportionate retaliation against the cities and infrastructure of the Muslim world: kill a thousand of us, and we'll kill a million of you. Repeated often enough, and brutally enough, this might eventually deter them from further terrorist attacks.

EXPULSION & QUARANTINE:

We could outlaw Islam within the U.S. and expel all Muslims, citizens or not. Forbid entry into the U.S.-- even for brief visits-- to all Muslims regardless of their country of origin and to all nationals, regardless of religion, from countries that are predominantly Muslim. Seal the Canadian and Mexican borders tight with orders to shoot to kill, and NOT bother asking questions later.

EXTERMINATION:

We could end this 1,400 year struggle between Islam and the West once and for all, with a war that would last barely a half-hour: simply nuke the entire Islamic world and then let our descendents inherit the guilt from murdering a billion people.

Iran, not worried about security on border with Afghanistan
[KhaamaPress] Iran’s foreign ministry has recently said that the border guards of are protecting borders with Afghanistan and there is no concern about the insecurity that erupted in western Afghanistan adjacent to Iran.

Spokesman of the ministry Saeed Khatibzada in a conference confirmed that the borders of Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
are safe and peaceful.

The Commander of the Army of the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran has also said that the eastern border with Afghanistan is safe and peaceful and there is nothing to worry about when it comes to insecurity.

Khatibzada has also confirmed that a number of staff of Islam-Qala and Abu Nasr Farahi custom facilities have crossed the border into Iran after insecurity erupted in the dry ports.

Nearly 2000 Afghan government Forces members had also crossed northern borders into Tajikistan after the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
took several districts of Badakhshan province bordering Tajikistan.

The confidence about the security of the Iranian border with Afghanistan in the west comes at a time when Pakistain’s foreign minister Mahmoud Quraishi said in Pakistain’s parliament yesterday that Iran will equally plunge into the crisis of Afghan refugees like Pakistain in case another civil war erupts in Afghanistan.

US leaving a mess for region after full withdrawal from Afghanistan: China
[KhaamaPress] Chinses foreign ministry reacted to the complete pullout of US troops from Afghanistan and added that the rush in drawdown will leave a mess not only for people in Afghanistan but also for countries in the region.

Spokesman of Chinese foreign ministry Wang Wenbin in a conference in the capital Beijing said that this implies the US’s hypocrisy behind its guise of defending human rights
One man's rights are another man's existential threat.
and democracy.

China is expressly making the remarks after US president Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Old, boring, a plagiarist, fond of hair sniffing and grabbing the protruding parts of women, and not whatcha call brilliant... or is that an act?...
announced on Thursday that the US men in service will leave Afghanistan by September days ahead of his previous deadline.

Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov had also dubbed the US 20-year presence in Afghanistan as a failure and had added that terrorism and narcotics are still at their peaks despite the US and its allies’ two-decade military presence in the war-battered country.
terrorism and narcotics are their national sports
Hours before Biden’s speech on Afghanistan, UK’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson
...pro-Brexit British prime minister, succeeding no-Brexit Theresa May. BoJo is noted as much for his sparkling personality and his hair as for his Conservative policies....
had said in Parliament that they have achieved their goal for which they went to Afghanistan in the first place in 2001.

China is now Afghanistan’s last neighboring country expressing its concern over the recent surge in violence by the Taliban

President Ghani Inaugurates Khost Airport
Better transportation is always good, and this will make it easier to bring in Afghan Army commandos as needed.
[ToloNews] President Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money...
inaugurated the Khost Airport during his trip to the province on Saturday morning.

Ghani visited Khost province
... across the border from Miranshah, within commuting distance of Haqqani hangouts such as Datta Khel and probably within sight of Mordor. Khost is populated by six different tribes of Pashtuns, the largest probably being the Khostwal, from which it takes its name...
along with the First Vice President Amrullah Saleh and other high-ranking officials where he will hold talks with security officials and some residents of the province, the Presidential Palace said.

Khost Airport project costs 900 million Afs ($11 million) and it has been built based on international norms, according to officials.

The construction of the airport was started 10 years ago. The first international flight landed at the airport last month.

Kabul calls on Russia, India, China to help fight terrorism in Afghanistan
[NATION.PK] As the US-led coalition nears the September 11 deadline for its pull-out from Afghanistan, the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
reportedly seized control of some 85% of territory within the country, according to a Friday statement issued by the murderous Moslem group. The Taliban's issuance has been dismissed as propaganda by some.

Afghan National Security Adviser Hamdullah Mohib announced on Friday that Afghanistan welcomes any technical, anti-terrorism operation support from external partners, including the militaries of Russia, China and India.

However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
any external assistance should not interfere with internal Afghan government matters, Mohib emphasized.

"We do not need to replace one superpower with another, peace and stability are possible only in the case of cooperation with everyone in the region and beyond, but we call on external partners to help our defense and security forces fight terrorism, for which they are intended, and not interfere in our internal affairs," the Afghan national security adviser said.

"We welcome technical support from all external partners, of course, from China, India and Russia."

Mohib went on to assert Afghan authorities have recognized the Taliban's right to exist as a legitimate political force, not a "monopoly," alongside other groups within Afghanistan.

The Afghan government's pleas come alongside the Taliban's celebration of allegedly claiming 85% of territory in Afghanistan.

Speaking during a Friday news conference in Moscow, Russia, Taliban official Shahabuddin Delwar declared "you and the entire world community have probably recently learned that 85% of the territory of Afghanistan has come under the control."

Friday alone, members of the movement overtook the border town of Islam Qala, and the Abu Nasa Farahi checkpoint - both key territories along the Afghan-Iranian border.

Delwar also vowed to take operational measures to ensure ISIS* does not re-emerge in Afghanistan.

A number of military experts have argued that a less rushed pullout by US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Former Senator-for-Life from Delaware, an example of the kind of top-notch Washington intellect hacked up by the World's Greatest Deliberative Body....
and his administration could have curbed the Taliban's now-actively growing influence in the region.

ICC confirms charges against Darfur militia leader Kushayb
[Sudan Tribune] The Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Friday confirmed the charges against Ali Kushayb and ordered to try him for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

In a statement released on Friday, the ICC said the three judges unanimously found "that there are substantial grounds to believe that Mr Abd-Al-Rahman (Kushayb) is responsible for 31 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity allegedly committed between August 2003 and at least April 2004 in Kodoom, Bindisi, Mukjar, Deleig and their surrounding areas in Darfur, Sudan".

From 24 to 26 May, the pre-trial court held a hearing to determine whether or not there is sufficient evidence for his trial.

The charges brought by the prosecution include attacks on civilians, murder, pillage, rape, torture among others.

Kushayb can appeal the confirmation of charges.

Last June, the former ICC Prosecutor Fatu Bensouda called on the Security Council to press Sudan to hand over the former Sudanese State Minister for Interior Ahmed Harun saying the two were jointly charged with the same crimes.

Libyan Militias Torture African Migrants in Tripoli Prisons
[LIBYAREVIEW] A Malian immigrant who was detained in Libya revealed the conditions faced by migrants colonists in these prisons, claiming that African migrants colonists in Libya have no strength left, and they are exhausted. The 24-year-old Malian told Info Moslem colonists Migrants News that had two stays in one of Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
’s prisons. "The first time, I was arrested on the outskirts of the city and sent to a detention center, and the second time, I was intercepted at sea," he explained.

He said he was fortunate that his relatives in Mali had paid a ransom to secure his release from the hands of migrant detention center guards, "Each time, I had to pay a ransom of 3,000 Libyan dinars to get out," he said.

"The guards treat us badly: they hit us for no reason. They open the cell door and just hit us. Whenever they came to the door, I hid in the back of the room so I wouldn’t be beaten," he added.

He pointed out that there are about 350 to 400 arrested migrants colonists in each cell, which seems like giant warehouses. He called on the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
to help the prisoners to return home, "or at least to get them out of prison."

He noted that the migrants colonists disappear in prison, "If you have the misfortune of not having any contact outside, you can stay there for months. If you stay too long, the Libyans sell you and we don’t know what happens to those poor people," he concluded.

Muslims face increase in online attacks in Europe
[DW] Muslims across Europe experience hate speech, threats and physical attacks. Now the Council of Europe, the continent's leading human rights organization, is debating countermeasures.
So are Jews and Christians, but who in Europe is protecting them?

Imam A.* remembers paint attacks on his mosque in a small western German town: "Several years ago someone spray-painted huge swastikas right across our walls and windows," he remembers. And the number of such attacks has increased markedly in recent years, he says.

In 2020 alone there were more than 1,000 criminal incidents and almost 150 physical attacks on mosques across Germany.
Anti-Moslem sentiment and antisemitism have become an everyday occurrence in Germany. The country's Interior Ministry registered 1,026 anti-Moslem attacks in 2020. It is suspected that many more have occurred but have not been reported.

Germany: Court fines 4 in major refugee abuse case
[DW] Years after an asylum center video sparked outrage in Germany, a court has fined former guards and a social worker for physically and verbally abusing refugees.

A German court on Wednesday fined four people for mistreating refugees at an asylum center in the small western town of Burbach, broadcaster NDR reported.

The case sparked outrage when cellphone footage of the abuse became public in late 2014.

The court in the western city of Siegen ordered three former guards at the asylum center and a social worker to pay fines ranging from €900 to €3,500 ($1,065-$4,100) for deprivation of liberty.

One of the four tried Wednesday was also convicted of coercion.

WHAT IS THE CASE AGAINST THE GUARDS?
The security guards physically and verbally abused refugees in a "problem room," where they were illegally locked up for days for allegedly violating the house rules, the court said. In nine incidents, the guards had put refugees in this room to "discipline" them for minor infractions such as smoking in their rooms, according to the verdict.

WHAT HAPPENED AT THE ASYLUM CENTER?
The scandal sent shock waves through Germany when the gruesome footage became public. In one of the leaked photos, a security guard posed with his foot on the neck of a handcuffed refugee, who had been beaten unconscious before the photo was taken. Other footage showed a refugee being forced to lie on a mattress stained with vomit.

In November 2018, the trial began against 38 defendants, including guards, social workers and city employees. The court handed down sentences against 14 of them.

The court also acquitted six defendants and dismissed five. Eight independent trials are still ongoing.

The company European Home Care (EHC) had operated the refugee facility at the time of the abuse. The German Red Thingy took over operations at the refugee facility after the scandal.

India-Pakistan
J&K govt sacks 11 employees including Salahuddin's sons
[OneIndia] As many as 11 Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
babus government employees, were sacked for allegedly working as over ground workers for terrorist organizations.

Out of the 11 employees, four are from Anantnag, three from Budgam and one each from Baramulla, Srinagar, Pulwama and Kupwara.

Sons of most wanted terrorist and founder of the terror outfit, Hizbul Mujahideen
...Party of Holy Warriors, founded by Muhammad Ahsan Dar in September 1989. One of the Pak sock puppets waging jihad in Indian Kashmir. It was originally organized as the armed wing of Jamaat-e-Islami. In 1990, Dar declared Hizbul as the sword arm of Jamaat. Hizbul murdered many of the pro-independence intelligentsia in Kashmir. After the organization was taken over by Syed Salahuddin Dar and several other ex-Hizb leaders were assassinated between 2001 and 2003...
founder Syed Salahudin among those dismissed from service by J&K govt. Sons, Syed Ahmad Shakeel and Shahid Yousuf were also involved in terror funding.

Salahuddin has been designated as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist by the United States. They were involved in raising, receiving, collecting and transferring funds through Hawala (non-banking) transactions for terror activities of the banned Hizbul Mujahideen,

They were dismissed designated under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution. The designated committee in Jammu and Kashmir in its second and fourth meeting, recommended three and eight cases, respectively, for their dismissal from government service.

Of the 11 employees dismissed, four were working in the education department, two in the Jammu Kashmir Police and one each in the agriculture, skill development, power and health departments, and SKIMS, the officials said.

Earlier seven employees, including Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Davinder Singh and an assistant professor, were dismissed by the Union Territory's administration.

Iraq to resort to United Nations to return its water rights from Iran, Ministry says
[SHAFAQ] Iraq’s Minister of Water Resources, Mahdi Rashid al-Hamdani, threatened on Saturday that Baghdad will resort to international community to get hold of its rights of water from Iran.

Al-Hamdani said in a presser, The Iranian side has not shown any response to us and is still cutting off water from several rivers and streams, which has caused severe damage to the residents of Diyala, which directly depends on the water coming from Iran."

The Minister added that, "If Iran

The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. Council to obtain our rights."

"We refuse to go to such solutions, and the matter depends on the cooperation of the Iranian side according to the foundations of good-neighborly relations and common interests." He said.

"Iran helped us in the war against ISIS, and we hope for continued cooperation in sharing the damages of water scarcity, similar to the Ottoman Turkish side, which shares the damages of the water crisis with Iraq."

It is noteworthy, Diyala is now living under the worst water crisis in its history due to the lack of rain and cutting off rivers and streams water by neighboring countries, in addition to poor storage of water releases from Lake Hemrin, the largest water reserve in Diyala.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
‘Cyber disruption’ stops websites of the Iranian ministry Saturday
[AlAhran] Websites of Iran's transport and urbanization ministry Saturday went out of service after a 'cyber disruption' in computer systems of its staff, the official IRNA news agency reported

The report did not elaborate but said the case is under investigation. This is the second abnormality in computer systems related to the ministry.

On Friday, Iran's railroad system came under cyberattack with hackers posting fake messages about alleged train delays or cancellations on display boards at stations across the country. It came after the electronic tracking system on trains across Iran

failed.

Also on Saturday, minister of telecommunications, Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi warned about possible cyberattacks though ransomwares. In 2018 Iran reported similar attacks.

In December that year, Iran's telecommunications ministry said the country had defused a massive cyberattack on unspecified ``electronic infrastructure'' but provided no specifics on the purported attack.

No group has so far taken responsibility of the either incidents.

In 2019, an error in the railway company's computer servers caused multiple delays in train services.

It was not clear if the reported attack caused any damage or disruptions in Iran's computer and internet systems.
