Suicide attack in Kabul city leaves 3 dead, 18 others wounded
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A relatively heavy kaboom rocked capital Kabul after a jacket wallah targeted the vehicle of the Afghan Attorney General Office (AGO).

The blast took place in the vicinity of Dar-ul-Aman road -- the same place where a suicide bomber targeted the AGO staff vehicle last week.

According to Kabul Police Department officials, at least three people were killed and 18 others were maimed following the incident.

The officials further added that a woman was among those killed after a suicide bomber detonated explosives packed in his body near the vehicle of the AGO employees.

No group including the Talibs has so far grabbed credit behind today's incident so far.

This comes as at least one person was killed and thirteen others were maimed after a suicide bomber targeted the AGO staff/employees vehicle in the same area last Monday.

Gunmen kill Puntland MP in Galkayo
GALKAYO, Somalia -- Unidentified gunmen have shot dead a legislator with Puntland, a semiautonomous region in northern Somalia on Friday evening, the latest in string of assassinations and attacks in the region which has long been enjoying a relative stability as the south of the country faced civil war.

Officials in Galkayo, in central Somalia said that Saeed Nur Dirir, a Puntland lawmaker as well as a close ally of the region's president was killed as he stepped out of a mosque in the town. The assassins also hurled grenades after the attack to create mayhem among the nearby people.
I'll bet it worked, too...
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the latest murder, however, the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabab group often carries out such attacks in the region which has seen waves of attacks and assassinations by the group.

Mr. Dirir is the second Puntland killed by suspected militants in Somalia this month. Gunmen have killed Adan Haji Hussein, a Puntland MP in Mogadishu last month.

Unknown assailants set off bombs outside Egyptian judge's home
[AlAhram] The kabooms targeted the home of a judge who has sentenced Islamists to death over the past year and a half since the ouster of former president Mohammed Morsi

Unidentified assailants on Sunday set off three improvised bombs near the home of an Egyptian judge who had sentenced Islamists to death and to long jail terms, Ahram Arabic news website said.

The kabooms outside the apartment of judge Moataz Khafagi, who presided over the trial of Islamists during the past year and a half, damaged the building's facade and smashed the windows of three cars, a prosecutor said.

The judge, who was at his apartment in the southern Cairo suburb of Helwan, was not injured in the after-dawn blasts which maimed four people.

Khafagi was the judge in several cases which involved Islamists against the backdrop of a state crackdown following the ouster of Islamist president Mohammed Morsi in July 2013. In June 2014, he sentenced a dozen Islamists to death over the killing of a police general during an assault in the town of Kerdasa, a stronghold of Morsi supporters.

He also sentenced the top leader of Egypt's outlawed Moslem Brüderbund to life in jail along with 14 others on charges of murder and inciting violence during festivities near Cairo in 2013.

One of the suspects in Sunday's attack was tossed in the calaboose
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
while two others escaped, a security source said.

Bombings and shootings by bully boyz have become commonplace since Morsi's removal following mass protests against his one-year rule and a crackdown on his supporters. Over the past 21 months hundreds have been killed as a result of attacks which have mainly targeted security forces, though civilians have also frequently been caught in the violence.

The terrorist killed eight residents in the attack with several others injured, which after they razed some houses, shops and places of worship.

Moroccan F16 goes Tango Uniform over Yemen
A Moroccan F-16 fighter jet taking part in a Saudi-led coalition targeting Shiite rebels in Yemen has gone missing, the North African nation's military said today, a day ahead of the start of a proposed five-day humanitarian ceasefire.

It wasn't immediately clear what happened to the jet, which the Moroccan military said vanished around 11am EDT yesterday. The Shiite Houthis, as well as their allies in Yemen's splintered armed forces, have routinely fired anti-aircraft guns at warplanes launching strikes in the country since the Saudi-led campaign began March 26; the Houthis' official news channel said today anti-aircraft guns had shot down an F-16, but that isn't confirmed, per Reuters. There's been no mention of the aircraft in Yemeni media or on the official website of former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, whose forces back the Houthis.

Morocco's state news agency, citing a military statement, says the pilot of a second jet said he didn't see the pilot of the missing fighter eject. The military says it has launched an investigation into the plane's disappearance.

Morocco has six F-16 jets in the United Arab Emirates taking part in the Saudi-led coalition.

Terror recruiter with roots in Minn. linked to Texas shooting
[STARTRIBUNE] One of the first Somali-Americans from the Twin Cities to join a terrorist group overseas is a prominent online recruiter whose clout extends to a new wave of Minnesotans charged with conspiring to support bandidos bully boyz in the Middle East.

Mohammed Abdullahi Hassan's most recent display of influence came a week ago when he was linked by Twitter to the shooting at a Texas event where artists depicted their version of the prophet Mohammed. Before the shooting, Hassan sent messages urging his "brothers" to commit such an attack and later praised the gunnies who were killed.

His calls for violence from abroad highlighted the extent of his reach in the United States, which has been steadily growing since he left Minnesota in 2008. Hassan, known more commonly as "Miski," had already earned a reputation for his ability to stay ahead of federal authorities who want to silence him and others whose sophisticated use of social media is influencing new recruits to fight for the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

In the Twin Cities, Hassan represents the first link between the earlier waves of Somali youth who fled the U.S. for terrorism to a current group of young men charged last month for allegedly trying to do the same.

Hassan, who left as a 17-year-old student at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, was among the second wave of Somalis from the Twin Cities who first conspired in 2007 to fly to Somalia to join Al-Shabaab
... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
From 2007 through 2013, at least 23 men from the metro area fled the U.S. in four separate waves, forcing the FBI to launch a counterterrorism investigation known as "Operation Rhino."

In 2009, Hassan was indicted by a federal grand jury for conspiracy to support terrorism. Today, he is one of nine Somali-American Minnesotans on an FBI most-wanted list of terrorists.

Now believed to be fighting in Somalia, Hassan was in close contact with Abdi Nur, a Somali-American who managed to fly out of the Twin Cities last May -- a day after his friend, Abdullahi Yusef, was stopped by FBI agents from boarding a flight bound for Istanbul. Both men sought to continue on to Syria to join ISIL forces, according to charges.

Those two cases are part of a wider conspiracy under investigation and are tied to the recent arrests of six Somali-American men charged with plotting to leave the U.S. and fight for ISIL.

Homeopath killed in 'sectarian attack'
[DAWN] A 65-year-old homeopath was killed at his clinic in Nazimabad on Saturday apparently on sectarian grounds, police and Shia organizations said.

Dr Anwar Ali Abidi was seeing patients at Urdu Clinic in the Paposh Nagar area when he was bumped off, said the police.

"He [Dr Abidi] sustained multiple bullet wounds and fell," said SSP-Central Chaudary Asad Ali.

"Some neighbours and people at the clinic tried their best to save his life by rushing him to the nearby Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, but he died before being brought to the facility," he added.

The police said two youngsters riding a cycle of violence pulled up outside the clinic and one of them entered the building. The attacker fired multiple shots at the homeopath before speeding away with his waiting accomplice, the officials said.

Dr Abidi was well known in the area where he had been practising medicine for quite some time. "An investigation is under way to ascertain the motive, but it was definitely not a result of any mugging attempt. It was a deliberate murder," the SSP said.

In a prompt reaction, the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Moslemeen (MWM), Shia Ulema Council and Jaffaria Alliance Pakistain condemned the killing and called it a failure of the law-enforcement agencies to take measures to eliminate bandidos murderous Moslems and root out banned outfits.

"It's unfortunate that the extraordinary number of casualties have failed to cause the authorities to take measures that can bring a lasting peace to Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
," said an MWM statement.

In a separate announcement, he said that the joint force had managed to retake control of most of the Hamrin Mountain ridge, which was captured by ISIS two days ago.

Some 30 holy warriors were killed and five armored vehicles plus other heavy weapons were seized, he added. The Hamrin Mountains are a small mountain ridge in northeastern Iraq.

Soldiers retake police station occupied by Abu Sayyaf
[Gulf Today] Philippine security forces have retaken a police station occupied by Abu Sayyaf militants in Mindanao.

Navy Captain Roy Vincent Trinidad acknowledged that civilian volunteers helped the troops recapture the police station seized by the Abu Sayyaf in a village in the town of Tuburan, Basilan. The insurgents attacked and took over the police station on May 2 when the two police officers there withdrew because they were outnumbered.

Trinidad said that before they withdrew, the militants planted inside the police station and a nearby telecommunication cellular phone site several improvised explosive devices which were later defused by military bomb experts. He also revealed the Abu Sayyaf beheaded a telecommunication worker they had abducted and held hostage as they occupied the police station.

In related news, army spokesman Captain Joanne Petinglay reported that three soldiers aboard a military truck were injured when an improvised bomb exploded as they were traveling through in the town of Sharif Aguak in Maguindanao. Petinglay speculated that the bomb was detonated by members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF).

Four Philippine soldiers killed in clash with NPA
[Gulf Today] Four Philippine soldiers were killed and eight others injured in a clash with New People's Army militants in a remote village in Davao City. The armed men fired on the soldiers as they were approaching the village, resulting in a 30-minute gun battle.

Battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Rodney Intal said the troops were sent to the village on Thursday to check out complaints from residents about extortion by heavily-armed men who were allegedly demanding money and food from them.

The relatively large number of military casualties in the encounter comes after a senior government official said the government has achieved significant progress in its campaign against the communist rebels.

group (IS/ISIS).

The YPG fighters were able to retake areas in the western countryside of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Tel Temir in Hasakah province, near the Aliya silos --a main headquarter of the IS radical group.

"This comes in the framework of the military campaign initiated by the YPG last week in the southern villages of Sere Kaniye, supported by the U.S.-led coalition's warplanes," a YPG source told ARA News.

"The military operations aim to expel the IS gunnies from Hasakah province," the source said, adding that the YPG fighters are now in control of the international highway between Aleppo and Hasakah near the Aliya silos.

"Our (YPG) forces were to kill at least 30 IS gunnies and seize a large deal of weapons and ammunition in the recent festivities," the source said.

In the past four days, the U.S.-led coalition's warplanes played a significant role in providing air cover for the YPG forces to regain control of areas in Hasakah countryside.

On Saturday, the Islamic State launched an offensive on several locations of the YPG forces in the village of Farisa and Tel al-Boga, (25 km west of Sere Kaniye) in order to ease the burden on their fighters on the southern front. However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
