Border Patrol Reports 1,066 Percent Increase in Fentanyl Seized in South Texas
[THEEPOCHTIMES] U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has reported a 1,066 percent increase in fentanyl seized in south Texas ports during fiscal year 2021.Border agents at eight ports of entry extending from Brownsville to Del Rio said that between Oct. 1, 2020, and Sept. 30, 2021, they seized 87,652 pounds of narcotics that would have commanded a combined estimated street value of $786 million, CBP reported on Jan. 5.

Of this, 41,713 pounds was marijuana, 8,592 pounds was cocaine, 33,777 pounds was methamphetamine, 1,215 pounds was heroin, and 588 pounds was fentanyl. That’s a 1,066 percent increase in fentanyl seizures, as well as a 98 percent increase in cocaine seizures, from the year prior.

They also reported having seized $10.4 million in unreported currency, 463 weapons—up 21 percent from FY 2020—and 84,863 rounds of ammunition.

The eight ports of entry comprise the Laredo Field Office. The CBP officers at these ports of entry also noted that in FY 2021, more than 20,701 non-U.S. citizens were inadmissible to the United States due to violations of immigration law.

Randy J. Howe, the Laredo Field Office’s director of field operations, said in a statement that despite significantly less traffic due to travel restrictions amid the COVID-19 pandemic, "the drug and contraband threat remained the same."

"Our significant gains in fentanyl and cocaine seizures underscore the deadly nature of the contraband we encounter, the need to utilize Personal Protective Equipment to protect our officers and our continued resolve to carry out our vital border security mission," he said.

Fentanyl is a highly addictive and deadly drug that’s about 100 times more potent than morphine and 50 times more potent than heroin. Just a 2-milligram dose of the synthetic opioid can be deadly.

Security forces fire tear gas at citizens in Sudan as thousands protest coup
[IsraelTimes] Security forces fire tear gas as thousands rally in Sudan’s capital Khartoum and a neighboring city, witnesses say, keeping up pressure on the military following a coup 11 weeks ago.

The resumption of protests since the coup has been met with a crackdown that has killed at least 60 people, according to medics.

Security forces fire tear gas as pro-democracy protesters headed towars the presidential palace, witnesses say, amid roadblocks seeking to prevent people converging there and at army headquarters. Protesters also rallied in Omdurman, Khartoum’s twin city.

Authorities have repeatedly denied using live ammunition in confronting protests and said scores of security forces have been maimed during demonstrations that have often "deviated from peacefulness."

Sudan Seizes Smuggled Ammunition from Libya
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

The Sudanese Rapid Support Forces (SRSF) announced that they had thwarted an attempt to smuggle a quantity of ammunition on the border with Libya that was on its way into Sudan.

Two members of an arms and ammunition trade gang operating on the border between the two countries were arrested, according to an official statement issued by the SRSF.

The Sudanese Lieutenant-Colonel, Othman Abkar, said that as soon as information arrived on the activity of smuggled gangs in the Saif al-Barli area on the border triangle, a patrol moved to survey the area.

He added that the gang was chased 10 kilometers from the area. He added that 3,638 rounds of the Grenov machine gun were seized, and 357 rounds of Dushka packed in sacks.

In September, the SRSF seized a shipment of weapons from Libya, and arrested around four smugglers, including two Libyans.

"Our forces deployed on the border strip between Sudan, Egypt, and Libya, managed to seize a shipment of weapons, ammunition, and explosives coming from Libya," the SRSF said in a statement.

The SRSF Commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Ali Ahmed Mahmoud Awajeh, said the SRSF units were dispatched to the Saif al-Barli area on the border triangle after receiving intelligence information about the presence of arms-trading gangs in the area.

The SRSF patrols clashed with the smuggling gang three kilometers from Saif al-Barli area and chased them.

"After the festivities, the forces confiscated two GMC cars carrying 36 Kalashnikov rifles and a box of Kornet grenades, Dushka cannon, RPG-7 launchers, and a large number of various kinds," the statement revealed.

Notably, the transational government in Sudan closed the country’s borders with Libya many times, citing security and economic risks. It repeatedly complained of arms smuggling across its borders.

Last April, the Sudanese Security and Defence Council, the highest authority in the country, decided to monitor the borders to prevent the flow and spread of weapons, in the wake of violence that broke out in Sudan on April 3rd and lasted for more than a week.

However,
by candlelight every wench is handsome...
the new Governor of the western Darfur region, Mini Arko Minawi, in August decided to re-open the borders for trade with Libya and other neighboring countries.

Arabia
U.N. Report: Thousands of Yemen-Bound Arms Came from One Port in Iran
[An Nahar] The United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
found thousands of weapons recently seized in the Arabian Sea likely came from a single port in Iran, evidence Tehran is exporting arms to Yemen
Boats used to transport the weapons had left from the southeastern Iranian port of Jask, the U.N. report found.
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
and elsewhere, The Wall Street Journal reported.Yemen has been wracked by civil war since 2014, pitting Iran-backed Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
s
against the internationally recognized government.

The U.N. imposed an arms embargo on the Huthis in 2015.

The United States as well as ally Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century...
-- which leads the military coalition backing the Yemeni government -- have long accused Iran
...The nation is noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence...
of supplying the Huthis with weapons, a charge Tehran denies.

Citing a confidential report by a U.N. Security Council panel of experts on Yemen, the Journal wrote that boats and land transport were used to smuggle weapons made in Russia, China and Iran into Yemen.

The arms included rocket launchers, machine guns and sniper rifles, which had been seized by the U.S. Navy in recent months.

Boats used to transport the weapons had left from the southeastern Iranian port of Jask, the U.N. report found, based on interviews with the boat crew and data from the onboard navigational instruments, the Journal said.
Good to have a name.
The rebel group's deputy information minister denied Iran was smuggling weapons into Yemen, according to the Journal, and Tehran said the weapons were not sold or transported to the country.

In recent months, fighting in Yemen has seen Saudi-led coalition forces carry out air strikes on the rebel-held capital Sanaa.

Riyadh has said its 2015 intervention in Yemen was aimed at preventing an Iranian ally taking power on its doorstep.

The U.N. estimates Yemen's war will have directly or indirectly killed 377,000 people by the end of the year.

More than 80 percent of the population of around 30 million require humanitarian assistance.
Garowe Online adds more, and has details of several confiscated shipments at the link:
Once an obscure port that exported fruits and vegetables to Oman, Jask is a small port town in Iran’s southeast that has grown in strategic significance in the past decade. In 2008, it started hosting a naval base, and an oil-export terminal opened there last year.U.S. officials said Jask has been used as a departure point for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps for some time, but the U.N. report provides the first detailed evidence about specific arms shipments tied to the port.

The persistent ability of Yemen’s Houthis to obtain smuggled weapons has helped give the group the upper hand in a seven-year civil war, the report said, despite the intervention of Saudi Arabia and an Arab coalition that has used air power to pound rebel positions. The Houthis control Yemen’s capital, San’a, and its major port, Hodeidah, and are closing in on the oil-rich city of Marib.

Gunfight breaks out in south Kashmir’s Kulgam

A shootout broke out between forces of Evil and security forces in Hasanpora area of south Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
's Kulgam district on Sunday afternoon.

"Encounter has started at Hasanpora area of #Kulgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow, ' a police front man said.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Hamas claims to nab Palestinian who aided alleged 2018 Mossad hit in Malaysia
[IsraelTimes] Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede, says unidentified suspect admitted to involvement in slaying of Fadi al-Batsh, an engineer who allegedly helped the terror group build weapons; father demands death penalty

The Hamas terror group announced on Sunday that it had arrested a Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Paleostinian who it alleged collaborated with the Israeli Mossad spy agency in the assassination of a Hamas weapons expert in Malaysia.

Fadi Mohammed al-Batsh, a Gaza-born electrical engineer and avowed Hamas member, was shot full of holes by two motorcyclists as he walked to dawn prayers in Kuala Lumpur in 2018, in a killing widely blamed on Israel.

"We arrested a person involved in the liquidation of engineer Fadi al-Batsh in Malaysia. He admitted to participating in the liquidation, which was commissioned by the Israeli Mossad," the Hamas-run Gaza Interior Ministry said in a statement Sunday.

The suspect has yet to be publicly identified by Hamas authorities. al-Batsh’s father told Gaza media that he would demand the death penalty and ask that he be allowed to carry it out himself.

"I will request to do to him exactly what he did to my son," Mohammad al-Batsh told the Hamas-linked Shehab news agency.

After al-Batsh was killed, the scientist’s family immediately blamed the Mossad for his death. Hamas officially claimed al-Batsh as a member posthumously. The armed wing of Hamas described al-Batsh as a member of the terror group’s military wing and "a commander."

Israeli politician Avigdor Liberman, who was then serving as defense minister, denied Israeli involvement in the killing. But Liberman also said that al-Batsh was involved in designing Hamas’s missile systems.

"This man was no saint. It was not about improving the electrical grid or improving infrastructure and water... He was engaged in the production of rockets, in improving the accuracy of rockets," Liberman told Army Radio at the time.

"Even if it wasn’t us, there’s no reason to shed a tear," Liberman added.

Israel has a long history of conducting assassinations of its enemies, both in the West Bank and Gaza and abroad. In the mid-1990s, Israeli agents allegedly bungled an attempt to kill Hamas chief Khaled Mashal in Jordan, resulting in a diplomatic crisis.

The deadly attacks increased during the Second Intifada, when Israel allegedly assassinated hundreds of senior Paleostinian terror group members in an effort to halt the wave of suicide kabooms against Israelis.

In Dubai, in 2010, Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, a key Hamas missile purchaser and importer, was assassinated in his hotel room in a killing widely attributed to Mossad.

The Israeli security services formally disavow most operations. But former officials have extensively discussed the policy in public interviews.

The Mossad has been also accused of targeting those who develop advanced weapons on behalf of terror groups, including Iranian nuclear scientists.

Top Iranian nuclear researcher Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was allegedly assassinated in November 2020 in a sophisticated hit led by a Mossad team.

Four year old child loses leg in suspected Turkish attack
[Rudaw] A four-year-old child lost his leg in a suspected Ottoman Turkish attack on the Kurdish town of Kobane in northern Syria on Saturday.

The attack targeted around 15 villages in the countryside of Kobane, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), killing one and wounding twelve others, including women and kiddies.

A photo of the four year old Abdou Mustafa Hanifi, who lost a leg in the attack on the village of Qarmog, broke the internet on Saturday with the Kurdish led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) media head Farhad Shami calling out The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
as responsible.

Turkey is yet to release a statement on the attack, however an unofficial source tracking the Ottoman Turkish military operations on Saturday confirmed attacks on Kobane and the village of Qarmog, claiming that the Ottoman Turkish artillery units struck Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) targets.

Video footage published by the SDF affiliated Hawar News Agency (ANHA) on Saturday showed the moment of the attack on Qarmog village, from which at least three women were maimed and were carried to a car close by.

Ankara often targets north and north and east Syria (Rojava), killing and injuring civilians and security forces.

EDL Says Protesters behind National Blackout
[An Nahar] Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...In 2020 Hezbollah blew up a considerable portion of Beirut and many of its inhabitants when its ammonium nitrate facility exploded. They blamed it on... somebody else. It wasn't them though. Trust them on that. And it ain't never coming to trial...
's state electricity company says that its power plants have stopped working after protesters stormed a key substation and tampered with the electrical equipment.
The small country is already grappling with round-the-clock power cuts that last at least 20 hours a day due to a financial crisis that has hampered key imports, including fuel for power stations.

Demonstrators angered by the blackouts stormed an Electricite du Liban substation in the Aramoun region north of Beirut on Saturday, EDL said in a statement.

"Protesters disconnected a 150-220 kilovolt power transformer and opened circuit breakers connecting the Zahrani power plant to the Aramoun station," it said.

"This caused disturbances on the electrical grid... which led to a total blackout across Lebanese territory as of 17:27 (1527 GMT)."

The disruption will pile more pressure on private generators that are already struggling to keep up with the near-total absence of state power.

Private generator owners have hiked prices and rationed supply in recent months, with costs surging after the government gradually lifted fuel subsidies.

The average generator bill for a Lebanese family usually costs more than the monthly minimum wage of 675,000 Lebanese pounds -- now worth just $22 as the local currency hits record lows against the dollar on the black market.

The international community has long demanded a complete overhaul of Lebanon's ruinous electricity sector, which has cost the government more than $40 billion since the end of the 1975-1990 civil war.

has separately started hydrocarbon deliveries from Iran.

(IS). UK defense minister, Ben Wallace, said: "This strike is an impressive demonstration of the RAF’s ability to take out hostile targets in the air which pose a threat to our forces.
