The question that arises is how can al-Qaeda pose a threat to Afghanistan and the world while its leader was killed ten years back?
"Al-Qaeda was not owned by bin Laden," said Atiqullah Amarkhil, a former military officer. "Al-Qaeda is still active in Afghanistan and anyone who says that we have eliminated al-Qaeda--they are lying."
The Afghan government sees the Taliban’s ties with al-Qaeda as a key challenge in the way of the grinding of the peace processor.

Hold On Now! When we (Mike Pompao)signed the surrender peace treaty with the Taliban, we were told that the Taliban was going to get rid of Al Qaeda.

[LIBYAREVIEW] Egyptian Member of Parliament, Ahmed al-Awadi, the Head of the Parliament’s Defence and National Security Committee, called for dismantling the militias in Libya and the withdrawal of all forces obstructing the implementation of the ceasefire.
In press statements on Sunday, al-Awadi noted that the Libya file is one of the most "sensitive" files for Egypt, affirming that Libya’s security is an integral part of Egypt’s security. He added that the election of a new executive authority in Libya contributed to calming the situation in the country.
Earlier, Egyptian President Abdelfattah El-Sisi expressed his support for the new Libyan administration led by Prime Minster Abdelhamid Dbaiba. He pointed out that the Dbaiba’s government is making attempts to control the situation in Libya.

Videos showed heavy black smoke rising from Movaledan chemical factory in the vicinity of Qom.
The cause of the blaze was not immediately known.
Twenty fire engines and 150 firefighters were dispatched to the site, the semiofficial ISNA news agency quoted Qom fire department front man Hamid Karimi as saying.
Karimi said the firefighters managed to stop the fire from reaching alcohol tanks, although there have been several explosions and two fire engines have caught fire.
Two firefighters have also been injured, with one at death's door, ISNA said.

The explosions probably come with the territory, what with industrial fire-fighting and all. I'm not a pro fire-fighter, but I'm pretty sure that if your engines are catching fire you're doing it wrong.
Lot of infrastructure problems in Iran lately. Probably just coincidence.

The amnesty includes full punishment for misdemeanors, contraventions, measures of reforms and patronage for the juveniles, interior and external fleeing from military service, some of temporary criminal penalties, crimes of juveniles and other crimes.
