-Lurid Crime Tales-
Illegal Alien MS-13 Gang Members Charged with Hacking Young Mother to Death
[BREITBART] Three illegal alien MS-13 gang members in the sanctuary state of New York have been charged with murdering a 31-year-old mother in a brutal attack.

MS-13 Gang members 20-year-old Rigel Yohairo, 22-year-old Allan Lopez, and 21-year-old Jose Sarmiento — all of whom are illegal aliens, Breitbart News has learned — were arrested and charged with murder, criminal possession of a weapon, concealment of a human corpse, and tampering with evidence this month in the death of Nazareth Tamer-Claure, the mother of an eight-year-old boy.

Rodolfo Lopez, a fourth suspect who is also an illegal alien MS-13 gang member, has been arrested and charged with concealment of a human corpse and tampering with evidence.

Last week, Queens County prosecutors say Yohairo, Lopez, and Sarmiento beat Tamer-Claure with baseball bats before hacking her to death with machetes in the neighborhood of Far Rockaway. Then, the MS-13 gang members wrapped up Tamer-Claure’s body and stuffed her in the trunk of a car before taking off for Long Island, New York, according to prosecutors.

Los Angeles police shoot, kill driver wearing body armor who slammed patrol car, confronted officers
[FoxNews] Police in Los Angeles fatally shot a driver wearing body armor
...body armor? Why?
Saturday afternoon after he backed his car into a patrol vehicle and then got out and confronted officers.

Officers were responding to another call with the siren blaring when the driver "stopped suddenly" on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood and reversed into the police vehicle, Los Angeles Police Department Detective Meghan Aguilar told reporters, according to FOX 11 in Los Angeles.

The driver got out of the car
...you’re supposed to stay in the car...
and kept his right hand hidden behind his back,
...with your hands in plain sight on the steering wheel...
as the officers exited their vehicle as well, Aguilar said.

"The officers gave him commands which he did not follow,
...following the police officer’s commands...
and he started counting down, saying 3… 2… 1… as he started to pull his hand from his back to the front," she told reporters.
Too dumb to live or suicide by cop, dear Reader?
Information about the shooting came from body camera footage from the officers, the detective said, according to KNBC-TV in Los Angeles.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the thoroughfare was temporarily shut down, KNBC reported.

The investigation into the incident is continuing, according to FOX 11.

Biden Deploying MORE Troops To Afghanistan
[OANN] DOD: More Troops Will Be Deployed To Afghanistan Before Sept. 11

The Pentagon has released new logistical details regarding the troop withdrawal from Afghanistan. On Friday, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby told reporters Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin had approved additional support to aid the withdrawal movement, which is slated to conclude by September 11.

"He has approved some additional measures today," Kirby said. "He has approved the extension of the USS Eisenhower to remain in the Central Command area of responsibility for a period of time. And he has approved the addition of some long-range bombers to be deployed to the region."

However, it isn’t just air and sea support that will be in the region. Kirby revealed that before the men and women serving abroad can return home, more troops will be deployed in the meantime.

"It’s entirely possible that there will be a temporary increase of some ground forces and enablers, not just for force protection, but also for logistical and engineering support that will have to go into Afghanistan to help us make sure this drawdown gets done on the timeline and in a safe, orderly way," the Defense Press Secretary stated.

Sending in the cavalry isn’t surprising as concerns have been raised that once the U.S. misses the original May 1 withdrawal deadline, the Taliban may launch a new campaign of violence.

U.S. CENTCOM Commander General Frank McKenzie explained the scenario was a serious threat the administration was aware of, and yet, would be moving ahead with a later withdrawal.

"We are planning collaboratively with our interagency and their international measures and will take all measures to ensure the safe and orderly withdrawal of all of our forces and those of our partners," Gen. McKenzie said. "This includes positioning significant combat power to guard against the possibility that the Taliban decide to interfere in any way with our orderly redeployment."

Attacks initially slowed after President Trump negotiated a temporary peace deal with the Taliban in February of 2020, but since Biden took office there has been little evidence to support the idea that the Taliban will abide by any terms of peace.

While Biden has taken credit for ending the two-decades-long conflict, McKenzie said that the end being celebrated wasn’t exactly what it seemed as forces would be leaving Afghanistan, but may not be returning home.

"Additionally, although we are going to pull out of Afghanistan, I’m operating under the concept that for U.S. military presence, zero is going to be zero," McKenzie continued. "We will have architecture in the theater that will allow us to look into Afghanistan. It will not give us the same picture that we’ve got now. It will allow us to see in. The ranges will be greater, the resources will be greater, the risks will all be greater."

With the apparent repositioning of troops in Afghanistan underway, the question remains: When will those men and women return home for good?

Somalia’s rival factions spread across Mogadishu as they jockey for power
[Guardian] After months living at an upmarket inn close to Mogadishu’s airport, Somalia’s opposition leaders, including two former presidents and their armed teams, have decamped, spreading across the capital in what is seen as a strategic move.

The sitting president, Mohammed Abdullahi Mohammed "Farmaajo", meanwhile, returned last night from the Democratic Republic of the Congo
...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material...
, where he was reportedly hoping to win support for an extension of his presidential term from the African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
The two ex-premiers are reportedly sleeping a few kilometres apart, embedded within residential neighbourhoods, better placed to mobilise the public.

Protests broke out Sunday night, suggesting that their move to spread across the city is having an impact. As the people were on the streets, the men who had ignited the demonstrations stayed home.

Europe
France reviews terror threat after suspected jihadist attack, 4 arrested
That’d be the unidentified knifeman of yesterday’s story. See also here for his hometown’s view of our miscreant.
[AlAhram] The French government held an emergency meeting Saturday after a Tunisian man stabbed a police employee to death near Gay Paree in a suspected Islamist attack as Sherlocks questioned three people linked to the assailant.

Friday's murder at a cop shoppe in Rambouillet, a commuter town about 60 kilometres (40 miles) from Gay Paree, revived the trauma of a spate of deadly Islamist attacks in recent years.

The victim was a 49-year-old woman named as Stephanie M., a police administrative assistant and mother of two teenage girls, who was stabbed twice in the throat at the entrance of the station.

Her alleged 36-year-old attacker Jamel Gorchene, who had not been known to police or intelligence services, was shot and killed by an officer at the scene.

The latest violence targeting police is likely to focus attention further on the danger of Islamic extremism in La Belle France and wider concerns about security a year ahead of a presidential election.

National anti-terrorism prosecutors have opened a terror investigation.

A source close to the inquiry told AFP the knifeman shouted "Allahu Akbar" (God is Greatest) during the attack. Chief anti-terror prosecutor Jean-Francois Ricard confirmed "comments made by the assailant" indicated a terror motive and said the attack may have been premeditated.

SECURITY STEPPED UP
The suspect's father and two other people said to have hosted him were taken into custody on Friday, and questioning continued on Saturday as police delve into his background, contacts and possible motives.

A fourth person was also taken into custody and the homes of all four peoiple searched.

A source close to the investigation said Gorchene's phone contained religious chants often used to spread jihadist propaganda.

The assailant had arrived in La Belle France illegally in 2009 but had since obtained residency papers, a police source said. He had just moved to Rambouillet and worked as a delivery driver.

Relatives in Tunisia described him as depressive and not devout while expressing shock and disbelief.

Gorchene was from M'saken, the same hometown as Tunisian Mohammed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, who carried out a deadly attack in La Belle France in July 2016.

Far-right leader Marine Le Pen immediately questioned why the attacker had been able to settle in the country, and hit back at recent criticism about police brutality in La Belle France.

'We need to get back to reason: supporting our police, expelling illegal immigrants colonists and eradicating Islamism,' she wrote on Twitter.

Polls show her running close to Macron in next year's election, though experts warn that surveys conducted so far ahead and during a pandemic should be interpreted with caution.

About 30 coppers wearing balaclavas raided the suspect's home in Rambouillet on Friday, AFP news hounds said.

At the same time police in the Gay Paree region searched the home of the person who had sheltered him when he first arrived in La Belle France, sources close to the inquiry said.

Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin, who also visited officers in Rambouillet, said security would be stepped up at stations nationwide.

Alleged Accomplice of Nice Truck Attack Islamic Terrorist Found in Italy
[BREITBART] Italian police have arrested a 28-year-old Albanian man suspected of helping procure a weapon for the radical Islamic krazed killer behind the 2016 Nice terrorist attack.

Albanian national Endri E. was taken into custody this week in the commune of Sparanise near Naples after La Belle France issued a Europe-wide arrest warrant for him.

The 28-year-old is accused of supplying a weapon to terrorist Mohammed Lahouaiej Bouhlel,
...the jihad-curious French resident from M'saken, Tunisia and father of three with a taste for petty criminality, a background of psychological problems — whatever that means — and a vast acquaintance in the jihad-curious world who finally dunnit...
who carried out the 2016 Nice truck attack that caused the deaths of 86 as he ran people over on Bastille Day along Nice’s Promenade des Anglais before being rubbed out by police.

According to a report from the newspaper L’Alsace, the arrest came after the Albanian was located through an exchange of information between French and Italian authorities.

A trial connected to the 2016 Nice terror attack is expected in 2022, according to the newspaper. Eight people connected to the attacker will also be taken to a special courtroom in the Palais de Justice in Gay Paree to determine their roles and connections to the attacker and the attack itself.

The three main defendants in the case, two Tunisian migrants colonists and a Franco-Tunisian, are suspected of having known Bouhlel had a plan to carry out an attack and were indicted for the "complicity of murders in connection with a terrorist enterprise".

Iraq
Diyala authorities launch a large-scale operation and intensified measures on borders with Saladin
[SHAFAQ] A joint security force in Diyala launched today, Saturday, a huge security operation to clear the governorate of ISIS cells, and the authorities scaled up measures at the border strip between Diyala and Saladin to pursue "Katyusha units".

A military source revealed to Shafaq News Agency that the operation started in al-Waqf basin, extending between Abi Saida and al-Abbara sub-districts to the north of Baquba.

The security operations will be covered from the air by the Iraqi Army Aircraft to secure the units' movement in the field and destroy ISIS hideouts nested in the Agricultural areas.

In the same context, a source in Diyala revealed that security authorities in Baghdad instructed intensifying security measures at The Tigris strip between Diyala and Saladin to pursue the "Katyusha units" attacking Balad base occasionally.

The source said that Baghdad ordered deploying checkpoints and mobile patrols along the strip from the Diyala side from which armed factions launch the rockets toward Balad airbase in Saladin.

The residents of Khalis district, laying on the bank of Tigris from Diyala's side, demanded the authorities to prevent the armed factions from using their lands as launchpads to attacks on the Balad airbase, expressing concerns from the damage their lands inflict in the aftermath of those Arclight airstrike

Baghdad's night protests: one killed and nine injured
[SHAFAQ] Law enforcement forces reportedly ran over a demonstrator earlier today, Saturday, in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

A security source told Shafaq News Agency that a demonstrator was killed this morning in al-Wahda neighborhood after a vehicle of the security forces ran into him. The source added that nine others were sustained varying injuries, including two security officers.

Member of the Supreme Committee for Human Rights, Ali al-Bayati, confirmed to Shafaq News Agency the death of the demonstrators.

"Infuriated demonstrators also responded by lashing at security forces," he added.

"It is the same scenario every time and every day. The approach and the behavior of the government do not change. Poor services for a long time, the people demonstrate without any response, demonstrations last for days without intervention, anger, security forces respond with arms, Killing, angry reactions again...A vicious circle."

" We need a task force for rapid services intervention in Iraq with enhanced monitoring tools and swift response to address those issues," he added.

Dozens of al-Wahda residents staged a demonstration on Friday night to demand improving services and power supply. However,
Switzerland makes more than cheese...
festivities erupted with the security forces resulting in injuries from both sides.

[SHAFAQ] An official in the anti-Ankara Kurdistan Workers Party called, on Saturday, the Iraqi government to confront the “Turkish army's incursion” into border areas in Kurdistan Region.

"The Turkish army targeted several border areas in Duhok Governorate, in conjunction with clashes between PKK militants and the Turkish army that are still going on until now and on the the anniversary of the Armenian genocide," Hiwa Zagros, the spokesperson for the military wing of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) told Shafaq News Agency.

He pointed out that "PKK members are clashing with the Turkish army to push it to withdraw from some areas," calling on the Iraqi government to "confront the Turkish occupation because these attacks target Kurdistan and the Turkish army aimed to carry out a genocide against the Kurds."

It is noteworthy that Turkey has frequently launched air strikes on the Region’s border villages.

The PKK insurgency in Turkey’s mainly Kurdish southeast began in 1984 and more than 40,000 people have been killed in the conflict.

PKK rejects repeated calls from the Region and the Iraqi government to leave Iraq because of its fighting with Turkey which killed and displaced thousands of people.

Turkey launches new raid in northern Iraq
[AlAhram] The Ottoman Turkish army on Saturday launched a new ground and air offensive against outlawed Kurdish bully boys' bases in northern Iraq, officials and local media reported.

Ottoman Turkish media said commando forces landed in the Metina region from helicopters while warplanes dropped bombs on Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) targets.

'Heroic commandos of the heroic Ottoman Turkish Armed Forces are in northern Iraq,' the defence ministry said in a tweet without specifying how many soldiers were involved. Ottoman Turkish television showed images of paratroopers jumping from helicopters and camouflaged soldiers firing guns.

The Ottoman Turkish army regularly conducts cross-border operations and air raids against PKK bases in northern Iraq.

President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important...
dubbed this one 'Operation Claw-Lightning'.

Speaking to the operation's command centre by video link, Erdogan said the offensive's objective was 'to completely end the presence of the terror threat along our southern borders'.

'There's no room for the separatist terror group in the future of Turkey, Iraq or Syria,' he said in reference to the Kurdish bully boys.

'We will keep on fighting until we eradicate these gangs of murderers, who cause nothing but tears and destruction.'

In February, Turkey launched an operation dubbed 'Claw-Eagle 2' against PKK rebels holed up in the northern Iraqi region of Dohuk. That raid created controversy because it was designed in part to rescue 12 Ottoman Turkish soldiers and an Iraqi held captive by the PKK in a cave.

Turkey accused the PKK of executing the 13 men before they could be freed, and Erdogan came under attack for poorly planning the offensive from opposition parties in parliament.

The February raid also created problems in Turkey's relations with Iran, which now has a strong political and military presence in Iraq, and which treats Erdogan's regional campaigns with suspicion. Iran's ambassador warned in February that Ottoman Turkish forces should not pose a threat or violate Iraqi soil, prompting Ankara and Tehran to each summon the other's ambassador.

Gaza terror groups say rockets fired over Jerusalem unrest, warn worse to come
[Times of Israel] "Light em up, Avi"
Fatah’s Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade, PFLP’s Abu Ali Mustapha Brigades take responsibility for attacks; UN envoy: Rocket fire violates int’l law, we’re acting to stop escalation

Two terror groups in Gaza took responsibility on Saturday for the salvos of rockets fired at Israel overnight, saying the attack was in response to violent clashes in Jerusalem in recent days and that worse was still to come.

Fatah’s Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine’s Abu Ali Mustapha Brigades said that they were behind the 36 rockets fired at Israel, linking the attack to the unrest in and around the Old City.
Not Hamas? They must be trying to look like their hands are clean to keep the White House sweet.
"We will burn the occupation’s settlements for you, O Jerusalem. The greatest [response] has yet to come," a spokesperson for the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade said.

The rocket attack followed days of tensions and clashes in Jerusalem and the West Bank that involved Palestinian and Israeli civilians as well as Israeli security forces. The Muslim holy month of Ramadan normally sees increased tensions around the Old City, which houses the Temple Mount site, holy to both Jews and Muslims.

Sri Lanka arrests top Muslim leader over 2019 Easter attacks
That would be Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019.
[AlAhram] The Moslem leader and his brother, Reyaj Bathiudeen, were arrested in the capital for ’aiding and abetting the jacket wallahs who committed the Easter Sunday carnage,’ said police front man

Sri Lankan police on Saturday arrested a prominent Moslem politician and his brother over suspected connections to the Easter Sunday suicide kabooms in 2019 that killed 269 people.

Rishad Bathiudeen is a former Cabinet minister who currently leads an opposition party in Sri Lanka's Parliament. He and his brother, Reyaj Bathiudeen, were arrested in the capital for ’aiding and abetting the suicide bombers who committed the Easter Sunday carnage,’ said police front man Ajith Rohana. He said the brothers have not yet been officially charged but were arrested based on direct evidence, as well as what he called circumstantial and ’scientific’ evidence.

Two local Moslem groups that had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group have been blamed for the six near-simultaneous blasts at two Roman Catholic churches, a Protestant church and three tourist hotels.
One of the groups is National Thowheeth Jama’ath (NTJ) (also spelt Sri Lanka Thawheed Jamaat, Tawheed Jamaath and Thowfeek Jamaath), which had not only pledged allegiance, but had gotten training from ISIS experts. The other is Jamathei Millathu Ibrahim.
Both Moslems and Catholics are minorities in Sri Lanka, where Buddhists make up 70% of the population.

Before his arrest Saturday, Bathiudeen wrote on Facebook that police were standing outside his house ’since 1:30 a.m. today attempting to arrest me without a charge. ... They have already arrested my brother. I have been in Parliament, and have cooperated with all lawful authorities until now. This is unjust’.

The arrests came amid growing demands for justice by Sri Lanka's Catholic leaders and community, including during a commemoration held Wednesday on the second anniversary of the attacks. Last month, Sri Lankan Catholics also attended Mass dressed in black and held placards in a silent ’Black Sunday’ protest.

Most of the people connected to the groups accused of carrying out the attacks have been arrested, but Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith has insisted the bombings couldn't have been planned by the leader who did away with himself in one of the attacks.

The government of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who came to power later in 2019 after promising to determine the truth behind the attacks, is under pressure to find the criminal mastermind.

His government accused an Islamic holy man arrested soon after the attacks of being the organizer, but the claim has not been accepted by the Catholic Church, which suspects there was larger foreign involvement.

Ranjith, the archbishop, has said a presidential commission that investigated the attacks focused on failures by those in political power at the time to prevent the bombings, instead of on finding the people who were directly responsible.

A power struggle between the then-president and prime minister, which led to a communications breakdown and a resulting lapse in security coordination, is said to have enabled the attacks, which occurred despite prior foreign intelligence warnings.

The Moslem community in Sri Lanka has disowned the attackers and did not allow their bodies to be buried in its cemeteries to show their actions are not part of Islam.
Nine suicide bombers, belonging to local Islamist extremist group National Thawheed Jamaat (NTJ) linked to ISIS, carried out a series of blasts that tore through three churches and as many luxury hotels in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday on April 21, 2019.

In May last year, Riyaj was arrested for making contacts with suicide bombers and given bail in October. Rishad, a former Minister of Industry and Commerce, was arrested in October and given bail in November over the misappropriation of state resources. Their arrests came just after the second anniversary of the deadly attacks.

[SHAFAQ] The Internal Security Forces (Asayish) of the Kurdish-led Autonomous Administration in Northeastern Syria announced, on Saturday, that the second round of negotiations with the Syrian government forces had failed.

Asayish Media Center said in a statement, "The negotiations did not reach any solution because of the intransigence of some of the Syrian Regime's parties."

The Statement affirmed, "By committing to our humanitarian principles, the Truce, which was announced on Friday, will be kept until tomorrow, Sunday, April 25 at 1000 a.m. to continue the negotiations and find a permanent solution for the mercenaries' transgression towards the people and our forces."

The conflict escalated in the past two days between the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) of the Autonomous Administration and the National Defense Forces of the Syrian government in the vicinity of Tay neighborhood south of the city of Qamishli in northeastern Syria.

Fire Extinguished on Oil Tanker off Syria after Suspected Drone Attack
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Syria's oil ministry said a fire has erupted in a tanker on its coast after what it said was a suspected drone attack on Saturday.

The official state news agency said the fire in the oil tanker outside Baniyas refinery has been extinguished.

Iran's al-Alam television said the tanker was one of three Iranian tankers that arrived a while ago at the oil terminal.

The oil ministry said the fire started after a suspected drone attack that originated from the Lebanese territorial waters. It provided no further details and did not specify where the tanker was arriving from.

#1  Correction:

"Correcting an earlier report, a Syrian military official says a fire that had erupted on an oil tanker off the Arab country’s coast had not been caused by a military attack, and rather broke out due to incautiousness and lack of safety precautions."

I appreciate honesty
