Tunisia activists launch Gaza-bound convoy in 'symbolic act'
[GEO.TV] Hundreds of people, mainly Tunisians, launched on Monday a land convoy bound for Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, seeking to "break the siege" on the Paleostinian territory, activists said.
The modern version of a Children’s Crusade, and just as ineffective. In the original, the children ended up dead or enslaved long before they neared Jerusalem.
Organisers said the nine-bus convoy was not bringing aid into Gaza,
No Aid??? Wow.
but rather aimed at carrying out a "symbolic act" by breaking the blockade on the territory described by the United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
as "the hungriest place on Earth".
Still hungry after the 1.5million or so Gazans received 11 million meals over the past two weeks via GHF alone, never mind what the UN-linked NGOs have handed out? That’s nuts.
The "Soumoud" convoy, meaning "steadfastness" in Arabic, includes doctors and aims to arrive in Rafah, in southern Gaza, "by the end of the week", activist Jawaher Channa told AFP.

It is set to pass through Libya and Egypt, although Cairo has yet to provide passage permits, she added.
Both Egypt and Israel would have to open the border crossing into Gaza for them. What odds?
"We are about a thousand people, and we will have more join us along the way," said Channa, spokesperson of the Tunisian Coordination of Joint Action for Paleostine, the group organising the caravan.
Greta Thunberg and her fellow selfie jihadis were intercepted just before they arrived in Gaza, and are now being sent home by Israel But I was reminded of Vittorio Arrigoni, an Italian activist-journalist with the International Solidarity Movement, who won his way into Gaza in 2008, and stayed on, doing all the activist things including reporting on the 2008-9 Gaza war … until 2011, when the ungrateful local Al Qaeda affiliate kidnapped him, and within 24 hours murdered him by hanging. Perhaps Israel should let the Tunisians through, to enjoy in full measure all the pleasures of Gaza for themselves.
The Times of Israel adds:
The overland effort — organized independently but moved up to coincide with the high-profile maritime flotilla that was seized by the Israeli Navy Monday — is made up of activists, lawyers, and medical professionals from North Africa. It plans to traverse Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt before reaching Rafah, the border crossing with Egypt that has remained largely closed since Israel’s military took control of the Gaza side in May 2024.

Cameroon: Police, opposition supporters clash as election looms
[AFRICANEWS] Tempers flared Sunday in the city of Douala, as activists and supporters of Maurice Kamto's MRC party fought to access their headquarters blocked off by security forces.

Since Saturday, parts of the city and the airport had been off-limits to cycle of violence taxi drivers, as authorities anticipated Maurice Kamto's arrival in Douala, where he was due to hold a meeting at his party's regional headquarters.

"They say Professor Maurice Kamto is arriving. I don't understand why the CPDM needs to advertise it. Is it the government's or the army's role to promote Maurice Kamto?,'' asked Kouati Robert, a supporter of Kamto.

On Sunday, the MRC leader posted a video stating he was being held at his residence and prevented by police from reaching his party headquarters.

Cameroon

is due to hold a presidential election in October and tensions are high. President Paul Biya's party has held power since 1960.

Kamto officially garnered 14 percent of the votes in the disputed 2018 presidential election.

Biya who is Africa's second-longest serving leader is expected to seek his eighth presidential term in the October elections. The months leading up to the election have also been marked by an increase in arbitrary arrests, intimidation, and a ban on demonstrations.

Israeli army warns of possible strikes on Yemen’s Houthi ports, Israeli Navy does the deed in Hodeidah
[GEO.TV] The Israeli military's Arabic spokesperson urged the evacuation of the Houhti-controlled Yemeni ports of Ras Isa, Hodeidah and Salif, in an X post on Monday.

The Iran-aligned Houthi group and Israel have been exchanging attacks since October 7, 2023, as the Yemeni group vowed to target Israel in what it says is support of Palestinians in Gaza during the war with Israel.

Israeli Navy attacking Houthi targets in Yemen

[Ynet] Strikes follow an evacuation warning it issued Monday for the ports of Ras Issa, Hodeidah and Salif, citing their use by the Houthis for military purposes

For the first time since the start of the war, the Israeli Navy carried out its strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen early Tuesday, targeting piers at the Red Sea port of Hodeidah, a stronghold of the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels, according to media reports in Yemen.

The strikes followed an evacuation warning it issued Monday for the ports of Ras Issa, Hodeidah and Salif, citing their use by the Houthis for military purposes. Unlike previous attacks in Yemen, the Israeli Air Force did not participate in the operation.

“Due to the use of sea ports by the Houthi terrorist regime for terrorist activity, we call on all those present at these ports to evacuate and distance themselves until further notice, for their own safety,” the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesperson said in a statement.

The last known Israeli strike in Yemen took place about two weeks ago, when the air force targeted the airport in the capital, Sanaa, in an operation known as “Golden Jewel.” Defense Minister Israel Katz said at the time that the attack destroyed the last aircraft used by the Houthis.

The Houthis, who have launched dozens of missiles and drones at Israel since the start of the war in Gaza, fired another missile toward Israel on Monday. The projectile did not reach Israeli territory and no sirens were activated. The most recent Houthi attack to trigger alarms came last Thursday, when a ballistic missile was intercepted over Jerusalem during protests in the capital and Tel Aviv.

Shortly after that launch, the Houthis claimed responsibility and said the missile had been aimed at Ben-Gurion International Airport. A spokesperson for the group said the strike was in response to Israeli military actions in Gaza and southern Beirut.

Financial Giant USAA Gets Downgraded After Debanking Trump Lawyer, Going Woke
[Federalist] For almost my entire military career and beyond, USAA, the San Antonio-based insurance and financial services giant that built its reputation serving military members and their families, provided my family with auto and home insurance, and even a credit card.

But as I wrote last year, I left USAA after a long slide in customer service crystalized when I heard of USAA’s debanking of conservative lawyer John Eastman. And the hard lessons for USAA continue.

USAA’s troubles hit a new low when S&P Global Ratings downgraded its financial strength rating from AA+ to AA, following Moody’s decision to drop USAA’s rating from Aaa to Aa1 on May 19. The culprit? Persistent issues with USAA Federal Savings Bank, which has attracted regulatory scrutiny and suffered financial losses.

S&P pointed to "new or continuing violations of law, rule, or regulation" flagged by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) in December 2024, noting that the bank’s compliance failures have eroded USAA’s overall earnings diversity. Up until 2020, the bank contributed roughly $1 billion annually to USAA’s pretax income, but since then it has posted average annual losses of $236 million. These financial stumbles, combined with a weakened resilience compared to peers, led to the downgrade.

Once a low-cost haven for service members, veterans, and their families, USAA’s troubles suggest a company veering off course, prioritizing ideological agendas over its foundational mission.

While USAA insists its financial strength remains "outstanding," the downgrades tell a different story. The company’s banking arm, once a steady contributor, is now a liability, dragging down its reputation and financial stability. Instead of addressing these core issues, USAA has yet to correct its path that alienates its conservative-leaning customer base — a base that, according to a 2019 Pew Research poll, leans 59 percent Republican among veterans.

Fifth Column
FBI unmasks protester who attacked officers with cinderblocks at LA immigration riots
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] The FBI has identified the protestor filmed hurling cinder blocks at law enforcement vehicles during the anti-ICE riots, and Pam Bondi warns he and others will be hunted down.

The suspect, who has so far only been named as 'Reyes', has been added to the bureau's most wanted list after a $50,000 reward was announced for information leading to the suspect's arrest and conviction.

'That guy has just been identified, and they are doing a search warrant on his house as we speak,' Bondi told Fox News.

The brute was photographed wearing a green and orange Los Angeles Lakers cap along with a mask as he was filmed breaking up cinder blocks into smaller pieces before tossing them at law enforcement.

It was one of several abysmal acts by the immigration rioters, who have resorted to setting self-driving 'WAYMO' cars on fire or arming themselves with hammers at officers, LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell said.

At least 700 Marines have begun their journey into riot-torn Los Angeles along with 2,000 more National Guard troops as the city braces for another night of immigration protests.

At least 74 people have been arrested in connection with riots of over the weekend with more to come as the chaos continues.

The Marines from the 2nd Battalion were seen gearing up next to a convoy of Humvees at Twentynine Palms, 142 miles from Downtown LA, after President Donald Trump's controversial order.

Harrowing scenes overnight saw demonstrators torch cars, attack authorities with fireworks, bricks of cement and tear gas and destroy infrastructure - even as state officials tried to maintain the 6,000 protests were primarily peaceful.

The Marines and another 2,000 National Guard troops will join the 2,000 boots already on the ground as LA is turned into a battleground.

Donald Trump has demanded anyone wearing a mask during the demonstrations be arrested.

'He has been identified by great police work by the FBI,' Bondi said to Sean Hannity of the man tossing cinderblocks.

'So you can run. You can't hide. We are coming after you, federally.'

Asked at a news conference on Sunday night if LA needed the National Guard, McDonnell said he would have to 'make a reassessment', adding: 'Looking at tonight, you know, this thing has gotten out of control.

'We are overwhelmed We had individuals out there shooting commercial grade fireworks at our officers. That can kill ya.'

Many, he said, were wearing masks - a direct violation of Trump's 'no masks' mandate.

Police have resorted to firing rubber bullets into crowds in an effort to quell the violence, which first kicked off on Friday on the back of a series of coordinated ICE raids across the city.

Governor Gavin Newsom lashed out at Trump as the violence escalated, accusing him of inflaming tensions by sending in the National Guard and insisting the crisis would be better handled by state authorities.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta called the National Guard deployment 'unlawful' and said it 'trampled' on the state's sovereignty. Bonta sued the Trump administration Monday in response.

This appears to be the first time in decades that a state's National Guard was activated without a request from its governor.

Trump has cited a legal provision that allows him to mobilize federal service members when there is 'a rebellion or danger of a rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States.'

But Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass argued the state of California is instead being used 'as an experiment' by the Trump administration seeking to test the limits of its power.

'These are not the people we were told were going to be detained, and it makes me feel like our city is actually a test case,' she said.

'A test case for what happens when the federal government moves in and takes the authority away from the state or away from local government.'

She said ICE agents had struck fear through the hearts of hardworking Angelenos, who are now constantly nervous about the next raids.

'I can't emphasize enough the level of fear and terror that is in Angelenos right now, not knowing if tomorrow or tonight it might be where they live, it might be their workplace, should you send your kids to school, should you go to work,' she said.

Newsom said on X he had been informed of the decision. He called the move reckless and 'disrespectful to our troops.'

'This isn't about public safety. It´s about stroking a dangerous President's ego,' Newsom said.

But both Trump and the Pentagon responded to Newsom with a greater show of force on Monday with the additional deployments.

These troops are tasked with defending federal assets and personnel, including the federal immigration agents at the center of the conflict.

The forces have been trained in deescalation, crowd control and standing rules for the use of force, Northern Command said.

These Marines are highly trained in combat and crisis response, with time in conflict zones like Syria and Afghanistan.

Now, they'll be facing furious protesters - carrying gas canisters or other makeshift weapons in some instances - and have to quickly decide how to respond with an appropriate show of force.

At least three buildings have been broken into and vandalized, according to LAPD chief Jim McDonnell, with 'significant damage and broken windows.'

He has placed his city on a 'tactical alert', meaning LAPD officers can be mobilized and reallocated quickly to respond to incidents as they arise.

The violent protests have sparked mass road closures and sweeping 'unlawful assembly' orders across the entirety of Downtown LA.

McDonnell weighed in on the decision to mobilize Marines and the National Guard, raising concerns that 'without direct coordination [they] create logistical challenges and risks confusion during critical incidents.'

According to a US official, troops will be armed with their normal service weapons but will not be carrying tear gas. They also will have protective equipment such as helmets, shields and gas masks.

The Pentagon is working on a memo with clarifying language for the Marines that will lay out the steps they can take to protect federal personnel and property.

Those guidelines also will include specifics on the possibility that they could temporarily detain civilians if troops are under assault or to prevent harm.

Having the Marines deploy to protect federal buildings allows them to be used without invoking the Insurrection Act, one US official said.

The Insurrection Act allows the president to direct federal troops to conduct law enforcement functions in national emergencies. But the use of that act is extremely rare. Officials said that has not yet been done in this case and that it's not clear it will be done.

President George H.W. Bush used the Insurrection Act to respond to riots in Los Angeles in 1992 after the acquittal of white police officers who were videotaped beating Black motorist Rodney King.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth tweeted late Saturday that he was considering deploying the Marines to respond to the unrest.

Bondi compared the streets of LA to a third-world country on Monday night, expressing disdain for protesters and warning any violence will be prosecuted.

'We can prosecute federally people who assault state law enforcement officers and we are going to do it, we are going to prosecute them federally,' she said.

'Look at it out there, it looks like a third world country. And it's not, it's the United States of America.'

On Monday, the LAPD arrived at the Federal Building to disperse a group of protesters who had gathered there.

Officers were seen in riot gear and wielding batons and rubber bullets, giving a large, agitated mob of protesters five minutes to evacuate from the area.

One protester shouted 'we're fighting to die' as cops set off flash bangs and deployed tear gas.

The rioting is still ongoing in San Francisco as well after the violence spread on Sunday.

While horrifying scenes and stories of violence emerged from Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, officers actually made more arrests in San Francisco, with 154 taken into custody compared to the 74 people picked up in LA.

LA anti-ICE rioters enrage locals with revolting anti-American displays
[NYPOST] Rioters called for the destruction of the US and spat on a flaming American flag while chanting ''burn it down'' in a sickening caught-on-video display — as the violent mostly peaceful protests entered their fourth day in the City of Angels.

Images of the disturbing scene emerged Monday, along with footage of thugs looting businesses and raining bricks, scooters and other deadly missiles onto cops from a highway overpass.

And many Angelinos are fed up with the anti-American madness.

''What's the point of protesting right now? It's just harming the community more than it's helping,'' said Eddie Velazquez, who owns a kitchen knife shop near the looted stores.

The protests began Friday after Immigration and Customs Enforcement executed a series of raids around the city, rounding up more than 100 illegal immigrants colonists. Hundreds erupted into the streets in opposition, waving anti-ICE signs and Mexican flags while facing off against cops and federal immigration officers.

Trump Tower protest leads to arrests as anti-ICE demonstrators take over lobby
[NYPOST] About two dozen anti-ICE protesters swarmed the lobby of Trump Tower in Manhattan Monday, and were busted after refusing to leave.

The mostly grey-haired crowd sat together on the ground, chanting, ''Bring them back! Bring them home!'' as NYPD cops descended on the Fifth Avenue skyscraper around 1 p.m.

The group called for the release of inmates from the notorious hellhole prison CECOT in El Salvador — where migrants colonists deported from the US, and even ''dangerous'' American citizens convicted of heinous crimes are held in overcrowded cells.

''We are demanding that the administration bring back everyone from CECOT to the United States, release them ICE custody, return them to their homes and families and allow them their day in court,'' demanded a woman leading the protest.

The NYPD confirmed that the protesters were given multiple orders to disperse from the lobby, but refused to comply.

An audio recording with the message, ''This is the New York City Police Department. You are occupying these premises unlawfully and without permission. I am ordering you to leave these premises now. If you refuse to leave, you may be subject to arrest,'' played before police began placing the crew in zip-tie handcuffs.

since Israel lifted an aid blockade three weeks ago and that has mostly been looted by armed gangs or taken by starving Paleostinians.

The organization has transported 4,600 metric tonnes of wheat flour into Gaza via the Kerem Shalom crossing, the only entry point Israel allows it to use, Deputy UN spokesperson Fahan Haq told news hounds.

Haq said aid groups in Gaza estimate that between 8,000 and 10,000 metric tonnes of wheat flour were needed to give each family in Gaza a bag of flour and "ease the pressure on markets and reduce desperation."

"Most of it was taken by desperate, starving people before the supplies reached their destinations. In some cases, the supplies were looted by armed gangs," Haq said.

According to World Food Programme guidelines, 4,600 metric tonnes of flour would provide roughly eight days' worth of bread for Gaza's 2 million residents, based on a standard daily ration of 300 grams per person.

Haq called for Israel to let in far more aid via multiple crossings and routes.

Israeli raids continue across West Bank
Had the Israelis not been raiding just about nightly since about 10/7/2023, the West Bank would look just like Gaza. The Palestinians of the West Bank ought to be grateful the IDF has not needed to bounce rubble and blow up miles of tunnels where they live, instead of just arresting the jihadi among them.
[GEO.TV] Israeli forces have conducted another night of raids across the occupied West Bank, reported Al Jazeera, citing a news agency.

In the Aktaba suburbs near Tulkarem, Israeli soldiers arrested three people and stormed several houses, according to Wafa news agency.

Troops also entered the al-Zahraa neighbourhood of Jenin, arresting two Paleostinians.

The military closed the entrance to al-Lubban ash-Sharqiyan, where dozens of illegal Israeli settlers gathered to perform rituals, according to Wafa.

IDF says troops killed 15 terror operatives in clashes in Gaza
[IsraelTimes] During operations of the 98th Division in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis in the past day, the IDF says troops eliminated at least 10 terror operatives who were identified near the forces.

The troops killed the operatives with sniper fire and tank shelling, the military says.

In northern Gaza, the IDF says the 252nd Division directed an airstrike against a cell of five operatives spotted near the forces.

Dozens more targets, including tunnels and operatives, were hit in airstrikes in the past day across Gaza, the military adds.

IDF: Troops in Gaza destroyed mile-long tunnel, dozens of booby-trapped buildings
[IsraelTimes] During recent operations of the Paratroopers Brigade and Yahalom combat engineering unit in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis, the military says it located and demolished a kilometer-and-a-half-long tunnel (1 mile).

The tunnel was used by Hamas operatives as a hideout, and dozens of weapons were found inside, the IDF says.

Additionally, the troops, with support from the Israeli Air Force, destroyed dozens of buildings that had been booby-trapped by Hamas, and a weapons depot, the army says.

“The buildings were rigged with numerous explosives weighing some five tons,” the IDF says.

civil defence agency said that 10 people were killed and more than 30 maimed Monday when Israeli troops fired at people trying to enter food distribution centres.

The Israeli military acknowledged that it had fired "warning shots" during incidents near food centres.

Gaza civil defence agency front man Mahmoud Bassal told AFP that Israeli forces fired "several times" at people at the al-Alam roundabout, close to the GHF distribution centre at Rafah.

He said six Paleostinians heading for the aid centre were killed in one incident and four more about eight hours later.

The Israeli military told AFP that "several individuals attempted to approach IDF troops operating in the Rafah area, posing a threat to the troops".

"IDF troops fired warning shots to distance the individuals. The IDF is aware of reports regarding several individuals injured, the details are under review," a front man added.

Bassal said that at another GHF centre south of Gaza city, 31 people were maimed by Israeli gunfire in a separate incident early in the morning.

The Israeli military front man said "thousands of Paleostinian civilians attempted to break into the aid distribution center, posing a threat to IDF troops operating in the area of the Netzarim Corridor".

"The troops called out to the suspects in an attempt to distance them, but as they continued advancing in a way that endangered the troops, the soldiers responded with warning shots."
The view from the Israeli side by the Times of Israel:
Witnesses accuse Israel-backed Abu Shabab militia of firing into crowd at Tel Sultan aid facility; IDF says troops destroyed mile-long tunnel in recent operations

Gaza Humanitarian Foundation said Monday it was forced to close one of its aid distribution sites due to “chaos,” as Hamas authorities claimed Israeli forces and allied local gunmen fired at Palestinians heading to the facility.

The GHF on Monday opened three distribution points — one in Wadi Gaza and two in Rafah’s Tel Sultan — but said it was forced to later close one of the Tel Sultan centers due to the “chaos of the crowds.”

A GHF spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for further comment.

The Hamas-run health ministry announced that six people were killed. Witnesses told the News Agency that Dare Not be Named that the button men appeared to have been allied with the Israeli military, operating in close proximity to troops and retreating into an Israeli military zone in the southern city of Rafah after the crowd hurled stones at them.

Heba Joda, who was in the crowd Monday, said gunfire broke out at a roundabout where previous shootings have occurred, around a kilometer (half a mile) from the aid site. She said the shots came from the "dangerous zone" where Israeli troops and their allies are stationed.

She said she saw men from a local militia led by Yasser Abu Shabaab trying to organize the crowds into lines on the road. When people pushed forward, the button men opened fire. People then hurled stones at them, forcing them to withdraw toward the Israeli positions, she said.

The Abu Shabaab group, which calls itself the Popular Forces, says it is guarding the surroundings of the GHF centers in southern Gaza. Aid workers say it has a long history of looting UN aid trucks. GHF has said it does not work with the Abu Shabaab group.

Defense sources confirmed on Thursday that Israel was arming the group, which has been linked in the past to smuggling operations with Egyptian jihadist groups.

Hussein Shamimi, who was also in the crowd, said his 14-year-old cousin was among those killed.

"There was an ambush... the Israelis from one side and Abu Shabaab from another," he said.

Mohammed Kabaga, a Paleostinian displaced from northern Gaza, said he saw masked men firing toward the crowds after trying to organize them. "They fired at us directly," he said while being treated at Nasser Hospital, in the nearby city of Khan Younis. He had been shot in the neck, as had three other people seen by an AP journalist at the hospital.

Kabaga said he saw around 50 masked men with 4×4 vehicles in the area around the roundabout, close to Israeli military lines. "We didn’t receive anything," he said. "They shot us."

Nasser Hospital said several men had been shot in the upper body, some in the head. Zaher al-Waheidi, head of the Hamas-run health ministry’s records department, said six people were killed and more than 99 maimed, some of them at another GHF center in central Gaza.

The GHF, in a statement released overnight, slammed Hamas’s "explicit threats" against its staff and those who accept the aid it distributes.

"At the same time, Hamas endorsed the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
, an organization it has routinely stolen from, as the only legitimate providers of aid," it said. "The contrast is telling. After delivering over 10 million meals, GHF has built a system that delivers aid directly to the people who actually need it. Despite these threats, we will continue to deliver urgent humanitarian relief with resolve and purpose.

"The international community, including the United Nations and other aid groups, must immediately and unequivocally condemn Hamas’s threats against both aid workers and civilians. There is no justification for targeting aid workers or the civilians they serve, or for silence from those who know better. Hamas must understand its actions are unacceptable, and the world is watching," it added.

On Sunday, GHF said it delivered 11 trucks’ worth of aid to community leaders for distribution in northern Rafah, as part of a pilot program that will see supplies delivered directly to Gazooks instead of forcing them to walk long distances and cross IDF lines in order to receive aid.

The agency has faced heavy scrutiny from other aid bodies, as well as the UN and foreign countries, which say that it does not sufficiently address the humanitarian needs in the war-torn Paleostinian enclave.

GHF says it handed out over 23,000 boxes of food at two sites Monday

[IsraelTimes] The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation says it distributed over 23,000 boxes of food at two distribution sites today in Rafah and central Gaza.

This brings the total boxes delivered since a May 26 launch to 192,480, according to GHF.

The US- and Israeli-backed foundation says each box contains meals for 5.5 people for 3.5 days.

However, its contents are largely dry food products that require community kitchens or cooking equipment to prepare, which are very scarce in war-ravaged Gaza.
