Attempting to, anyway. That’s why Texas has its own Border Patrol — good job, guys!
[Breitbart] Texas Department of Public Safety special agents seized approximately $2.4 million worth of methamphetamine after Customs and Border Protection officers discovered the load being smuggled into Texas from Mexico. Troopers arrested the driver for allegedly smuggling the drugs into the United States.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott posted photos of the seized drugs and the driver who was arrested by DPS troopers earlier this week. The photos show nearly 400 bundles of the highly addictive drug that CBP Office of Field Operations officers found during an inspection at the Pharr Port of Entry.
CBP officers conducted a commercial vehicle inspection on a 2012 Freightliner tractor-trailer as the driver approached from Reynosa, Tamaulipas, according to an article posted on the governor’s website. The officers referred the driver to a secondary inspection station and contacted Texas DPS special agents after discovering a false compartment in the trailer. A search of the compartment led to the discovery of more than 390 bundles that tested positive for meth. The DPS agents seized the drugs and arrested 28-year-old Luis Fernando Sarinana Matias, a Mexican national from Reynosa.
Officials estimated the street value of the meth to be more than $2.4 million. The driver is charged with possession of a controlled substance. Additional or more severe charges will likely be filed.
In March, CBP officers seized another load of methamphetamine at the same border crossing point. A CBP K-9 alerted to the possible presence of drugs during a secondary inspection and discovered 960 packages containing nearly 300 pounds of the illicit drug. Officers seized the drugs and turned them and the driver over to ICE Homeland Security Investigations.
[Breitbart] Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are now facing a 500 percent increase in assaults as they attempt to locate and arrest illegal aliens living in the United States, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) data exclusively obtained by Breitbart News revealed.
“Today, the Department of Homeland Security released new data revealing that ICE law enforcement is now facing a 500% increase in assaults while carrying out enforcement operations,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Breitbart News.
McLaughlin pointed to the recent arrest of Roberto Carlos Munoz, an illegal alien and convicted child sex offender, who dragged an ICE agent 50 yards with his car as he attempted to evade arrest in Bloomington, Minnesota.
“Just this week, an ICE officer was dragged 50 yards by a car while arresting an illegal alien sex offender. Every day the men and women of ICE put their lives on the line to protect and defend the lives of American citizens,” McLaughlin said.
Likewise, McLaughlin called out the Democrats such as House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries; Boston, Massachusetts, Mayor Michelle Wu; Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz; and Los Angeles, California, Mayor Karen Bass for their seemingly threatening statements against ICE agents.
While Wu and Walz have compared ICE agents to Nazis, Jeffries made threats against agents by stating he will work to expose their identities.
“Every single ICE agent who is engaged in this aggressive overreach and are trying to hide their identities from the American people will be unsuccessful in doing that … every single one of them, no matter what it takes, no matter how long it takes will of course be identified,” Jeffries said weeks ago.
“Make no mistake, Democrat politicians like Hakeem Jeffries, Mayor Wu of Boston, Governor Tim Walz, and Mayor Bass of Los Angeles are contributing to the surge in assaults of our ICE officers through their repeated vilification and demonization of ICE,” McLaughlin said. “From comparisons to the modern-day Nazi gestapo to glorifying rioters, the violent rhetoric of these sanctuary politicians is despicable. This violence against ICE must end.”
Most recently, Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges that she forcibly impeded and interfered with ICE agents as they were trying to arrest an illegal alien at Delaney Hall in Newark, New Jersey.
Similarly, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York has not ruled out charging New York City Comptroller and Democrat mayoral candidate Brad Lander for allegedly assaulting an ICE agent and interfering with the arrest of an illegal alien.

[IsraelTimes] Report says Azerbaijani national detained after security services received intel from ‘cooperating foreign service’; suspect seen taking photos at British, Cypriot bases on island
An alleged member of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was arrested in Cyprus on suspicion of planning a terror attack, Cypriot media reported Saturday.
The individual appeared before a district court, which ordered an eight-day detention pending inquiries.
No further details would be issued, police said, citing national security.
According to Phile News, the Azerbaijani national was arrested on Friday after security services received "highly classified and reliable intelligence from a cooperating foreign service." The foreign intelligence identified the man as an IRGC operative, the report said.
The outlet said the suspect had been collecting intelligence since April about the presence of foreign military forces in Cyprus.
The report said the suspect lived in an apartment in Limassol, near British military bases and had been seen on an almost daily basis near the British military facilities in nearby Akrotiri while carrying a large camera with a telephoto lens, as well as three cellphones.
The report said the man seemed to be taking photos and writing notes.
RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus is Britannia’s largest air force base in the region and currently houses several Typhoon jets as part of the UK’s bolstering of forces in the region amid the conflict between Israel and Iran.
In addition, Phile News said, the suspect traveled by bus from Limassol to Paphos, where he took photos near the Cypriot military’s Andreas Papandreou air base.
The suspect will face charges of terrorism, espionage, conspiracy to commit a felony, and a number of other offenses, Phile News reported.
In addition to housing sensitive military facilities, Cyprus has become a hub for Israelis stranded while airspace is closed amid the fighting between Israel and Iran.
Cyprus has seen a number of attempted attacks by Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... in recent years.
In 2023, an IRGC terror plot to target Israeli businesspeople in Cyprus was foiled. The Mosssd ...sees all, knows all, gets 'em all in the end... said the Iranian suspect was given weapons for the attack from bigwigs in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and instructions on its implementation. The spy agency said the plan was to target Israeli businessmen in the small island nation.
In October 2021, Israel said that an Iranian plot against Israeli businesspeople in Cyprus had been foiled. According to reports, the hired hitman was of Azerbaijani origin.
Just what Ihappened across while looking for other things — though I’ve been a bit distracted with the Israel-Iran war, so it’s been both neglected and delayed. Sorry. Shabbos Kestenbaum

In the official Harvard 2025 Yearbook, the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust is simply labeled:
“October 2023: War Breaks Out in Gaza.”
As Harvard Chabad notes, this would be the equivalent of describing 9/11 as "War breaks out in Afghanistan."
I urge all employers: if you are going to hire Harvard graduates from 2024-2028, please ask them what they were doing on campus the last two years.
Go through their social media. If they celebrated the abduction of 12 American citizens and the murder of more than 45, perhaps look elsewhere for employees.
If these are America's future leaders, then no wonder America has such a dearth of leadership.

MIT graduation speaker calls for pro-Palestinian activism to stop ‘genocidal Israeli military’
Some people walked out and others booed Thursday when a Massachusetts Institute of Technology commencement speaker accused Israel of trying “to wipe Palestine off of the earth.” Megha Vemuri, (pictured) the graduating class president, used her speech to urge alumni to advocate for the pro-Palestinian cause and demand the university cut ties with the “genocidal Israeli military.”
Her remarks prompted backlash both during the ceremony – with some shouting “shame,” booing, or walking out – as well as afterward online, Fox News reports. Vermuri praised MIT’s undergraduate body and graduate student union for voting to cut ties with the “genocidal Israeli military” last spring, according to a video of her speech posted on X.

Ethnic studies compromise opens door to broader antisemitism legislation in California
[IsraelTimes] A potential breakthrough arrived in May in California’s years-long debate over ethnic studies, in which Jewish groups fought to ensure that a curriculum mandate would not lead to teachers presenting Jews unfairly or singling out Israel. For the first time, influential lawmakers from several racial and ethnic caucuses offered to help the effort — as long as ethnic studies did not draw exclusive scrutiny. The result is a collaboration between the state legislature’s Jewish Caucus and the chairs of the Black, Latino, and Asian American and Pacific Islander caucuses on a bill to address concerns about antisemitism throughout the state’s education system.
“There was a level of ownership around ethnic studies by folks that are in those ethnic communities, and nervousness that in our desire to prevent antisemitism in that discipline, it looked like it was an attack on ethnic studies, when it wasn’t,” Assemblymember Rick Chavez Zbur, a member of the Jewish Caucus who is one of the bill’s two primary authors, said in an interview.
“They said, ‘Why don’t we actually focus on antisemitism in all the ways in which it’s appearing in our schools and do a bill that’s more broadly focused on antisemitism,’” Zbur said. “There’s a genuine desire to stand with the Jewish Caucus to remedy what’s happening.”
The compromise comes amid a broad spike in antisemitism globally, widespread concern about antisemitism in K-12 schools, and as some politically progressive educators appear to be promoting criticism of Israel in their classrooms.
It also turned out to be particularly timely. In California, the ethnic studies mandate that was approved in 2021, requiring that all high school students take an ethnic studies course to graduate, was about to take effect this fall. But then, two days after the unveiling of the new bill, Gov. Gavin Newsom announced he would not fund the mandate in next year’s budget, effectively blocking it for now. Newsom, who has expressed support for ethnic studies as a field of study and signed the 2021 law creating the mandate, has not explained his decision to withhold funding, but a spokesperson pointed out the state’s deteriorating financial situation. A $12 billion budget shortfall is expected.
President Trump would ensure the state loses funding on response. Also, the honourable governor of the great state etc. wants to run for president, so he has to tack to the center until he loses to the Republican in 2028.
The money is needed by local school districts for classroom materials as well as teacher staffing and training. Individual school districts have already begun teaching ethnic studies without a state mandate in effect, and they can continue to do so. Jewish groups are scrutinizing schools with ethnic studies offerings and have in some cases sued and filed complaints over alleged discrimination.
Lawfare being a tool that can be used for good as well as evil.
The provisions of the new bill are still being written, but a general outline was approved by the state Assembly’s education committee last week and by the appropriation committee Friday. The bill now heads to the Assembly floor for a second reading and a possible final vote by June 6. It would then go to the state Senate for consideration.
The proposal would have prohibited teachers and administrators from teaching or promoting antisemitism or antisemitic actions that create a hostile environment, calling for the genocide of any group, or requiring students to advocate for an antisemitic point of view. It also would have barred public schools from using public money to support the teaching of antisemitism. Educators would have personally been responsible for covering the costs of damages in lawsuits for violating the rules.
Hobbs, a Democrat, says the bill is not about antisemitism but rather about attacking teachers.
A University of Chicago professor whose brother was convicted of helping the Iranian regime spy on dissidents in the United States is cheering on Iran's missile attacks against Israel.
Alireza Doostdar, an associate professor of Islamic Studies and a dual U.S.-Iranian citizen, wrote in a Tuesday X post, "At this point the best and only hope for peace is the power and durability of Iranian missiles." His statement was in response to a video alleging that an "Iranian hypersonic missile attack" had destroyed an Israeli missile defense system in Tel Aviv.
On the University of Chicago campus, Doostdar is an active member of the Faculty for Justice in Palestine chapter and has supported unauthorized anti-Israel encampments. He was arrested during a "sit-in" protest in November 2023.
Doostdar's brother Ahmadreza, however, has a more extensive record of run-ins with law enforcement. A federal judge sentenced him to 38 months in prison in 2020 for spying on Iranian dissidents in California and Chicago and for monitoring a number of Jewish centers, including a Hillel Center and a Rohr Chabad Center. Doostdar's brother is also a dual U.S.-Iranian citizen.
Reached for comment, Doostdar told the Washington Free Beacon, "Sorry I refuse to speak to fascists. You can put that as my response."

[IsraelTimes] Director of San Antonio’s Temple Beth El says FBI told him plot targeted the city’s entire Jewish community; mayor vows to take ‘all necessary steps’ for Jewish safety
A suspect was arrested Thursday who allegedly planned a mass shooting at the Barshop Jewish Community Center in San Antonio, Texas.
The suspect, who was not identified, was located by police in another state and was arrested based on statements made by the suspect while in police custody, according to San Antonio Police Chief William McManus.
In response to the alleged threats, the Barshop JCC was closed Thursday and police presence was increased at Jewish facilities throughout the city, according to police.
“The FBI received information overnight indicating that an individual may have been planning to conduct a mass shooting at a Jewish Cultural Enrichment Center,” the FBI San Antonio Field Office said in a statement. “An individual believed to be associated with this has been located by the FBI in another state and the investigation is continuing to determine the veracity of the threat information.”
Eric Ryniker, the executive director of San Antonio synagogue Temple Beth El, told local news channel KSAT that he had received a call from the FBI early Thursday morning informing him that they were not only “focusing on the JCC but the Jewish community entirely.”
Ryniker told KSAT that his reaction to the call from the FBI was “frustration more than anything” — but not because of how the agency was responding.
“Honestly, frustration more than anything because of how almost routine it is. It’s terrible. It’s tragic. It’s not OK,” Ryniker said. “And yet, this is just part of what we do. We have these protocols in place because we know things like this are going to happen.”
Rhonda Grimm, the president of the National Council of Jewish Women San Antonio, told local television station KENS that they had received a strong show of support.
“We received a great deal of support today, so while tensions are high and there’s anxiety, there’s a very, very strong show of support,” Grimm said.
“It could be us targeted, it could be another group targeted tomorrow,” Grimm continued. “We all look out for each other.”

[News5Cleveland] Rep. Max Miller says the driver who swerved at him on I-90 yelled, 'I’m going to kill you and your family'
Miller, who was driving alone at the time, detailed the incident in an interview with News 5
Rocky River Police are investigating after U.S. Rep Max Miller contacted them about a man driving on Interstate 90 who threatened him and his family and used antisemitic slurs. Miller told News 5 in an interview that the driver of the other vehicle was using it as a "weapon."
We spoke to the congressman today about what happened, and you can watch that story tonight on News 5 at 5.
Miller, a Republican from Rocky River, called the police just after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
According to the City of Rocky River, he told police he was driving on the highway when another motorist threatened him.
Police obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Feras S. Hamdam, of Westlake. Hamdam has since voluntarily turned himself in to the police department, the city said.
Hamdam is charged with aggravated menacing and ethnic intimidation. He's currently being held in jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond; he was also ordered to surrender his passport.
Hamdam is a doctor in Northeast Ohio.
News 5's John Kosich spoke with Miller on Friday about what happened:
"Here’s where it got very dangerous, and where it got very sobering, is that it went from an individual trying to get my attention that he couldn’t, and using his vehicle as a weapon to swerve into my lane to get my attention," Miller said.
He continued, "And that scared me. I’m not going to lie to anybody. You know, he was rummaging through his vehicle; I could see that he was screaming at me at the top of his lungs. What he ended up finding and what he presented to the window is that he held up his cell phone, and it had a Palestinian flag on it."
According to Miller, they slowed down to around 40-50 mph, and he rolled down his window to hear what the man was saying.
"He looked at me and said, 'You’re Max Miller, I know where you live; I’m going to kill you and your family,' and said, ‘Free Palestine and death to Israel,'” Miller told News 5.
Miller said he wants people to know that if they want to talk to an elected representative, there are ways to go about it, but this wasn't the way.
"I do feel that I was targeted on the freeway for being a Jewish American or a member of Congress who supports the state of Israel," he said.
Miller said he was alone in the car and didn't have his daughter or anyone else with him when the alleged road rage incident occurred.
"It actually gave me a beautiful perspective, which was that I was alone; I was able to keep calm, cool and collected, stay resilient in a very tumultuous situation, get his license plate number and hold him accountable," he said.
When asked about the rise of these types of incidents, Miller responded, "It's not only a rise in antisemitism on social media, we are now seeing people taking action to actually hurt individuals who either support the state of Israel or have the Jewish faith."
He told us that if someone is confronted in a similar situation, they should follow his example.
"The best thing anyone can do in a situation like this is, I believe, what I did. People like that want individuals like me to hide. I'm sure that individual wanted me to end the rest of my day and to go home and not finish my meetings, but I did, and that’s how I was raised, and that’s how you persevere, in my opinion," Miller said.
Following the incident, Miller went to work, and when he was finished, he signed a criminal complaint for aggravated menacing and a motion for a criminal protection order against the other driver.
Miller said he hopes his actions will help to deter other people from making reckless decisions like this.
"The biggest blessing from this is I know this is only going to make me stronger as an American, as a Jewish American, as somebody that is going to continue not just the fight against anti-semitism, but as well as Islamophobia and all forms of hate," Miller said.
The case is under investigation by local and federal authorities, including Rocky River Police, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the FBI and Capitol Police, among others.
CAPITOL POLICE ISSUE STATEMENT
The U.S. Capitol Police gave the following statement about the incident:
After receiving notification about a threat towards a Member of Congress in Ohio, USCP Special Agents immediately deployed to the region where they worked with local and federal agencies relentlessly to locate 36-year-old Feras S. Hamdan of Ohio. He was arrested on charges of Aggravated Menacing. The investigation is still unfolding, but the USCP would like to thank our partners in this investigation for their information sharing and collaboration.
“In less than 24 hours, the USCP received notification of a threat against a Member of Congress, had boots on the ground, collaborated with the local police department, and the suspect in the case was arrested that same evening,” said Acting Chief Sean Gallagher. “This case is a prime example of the USCP’s stance towards threats against our elected officials. We will continue to have a zero-tolerance policy.”
Miller, a former Trump aide and staunch supporter of Israel, condemned the attack in a post on X, writing in the caption, “As a Marine, a proud Jewish American and a staunch defender of Israel, I will not hide in the face of this blatant antisemitic violence.”
In a 911 call obtained by CNN, Miller can be heard describing the incident in which the suspect allegedly called him a “dirty Jew” to the operator.
“I’m on the freeway. I have somebody who has cut me off, who is flipping me off, who is showing me a Palestinian flag and is yelling to kill me,” said Miller.
“I was just driving to work and I was cut off by a man in a Tesla who held up a Palestinian flag to me and then rolled down his window and said that I’m going to cut your throat and your daughter’s. And he said you’re a dirty Jew. I’m going to f–king kill you all, and I know who you are and where you live,” Miller said in the call.
If the good doctor was driving a Tesla, there will be video of the incident.
Hamdan turned himself in to police and is currently awaiting a court appearance, according to Rocky River Police. An investigation is ongoing, according to the United States Capitol Police.
A LinkedIn account that appeared to belong to Hamdan and was disabled on Friday indicated that he was a physician who had worked in multiple roles around the Cleveland area.
At his arraignment on Friday afternoon, Judge Burke referenced the recent attacks on two Minnesota state lawmakers, which authorities believe was politically motivated. Former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were slain in their home on June 14. State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife were also shot, but survived.
“Threats against elected officials — I’m just not gonna tolerate that,” Judge Burke said, later adding, “These are real serious allegations here. It’s not gonna happen on my watch. Someone’s gonna get harmed.”
Hamdan will also be made to surrender his passport upon his release from jail. He’ll also be placed under GPS monitoring. He has also consented to a no-contact protection order requested by Miller for himself and his family members.
Authorities are now working to obtain the cell phone with the Palestinian flag, as alleged in the complaint, O’Shea said Friday. He warned that anyone suspected of tampering with the phone could face a felony charge more serious than the charges currently against Hamdan. Hamdan’s attorney, Issa Elkhatib of Cleveland, on Friday said they do not intend to surrender the phone, considering it a violation of Hamdan’s First and Fourth amendment rights.
Elkhatib said Hamdan is a natural-born U.S. citizen, a licensed physician with his own private practice and “a model community member who has never committed a crime in his life.”
According to Rocky River, Ohio, police, the incident occurred on June 15 when Hamdan allegedly tailgated Miller's vehicle, swerved erratically, and ultimately veered into his lane, causing the congressman to drive off the road to avoid a collision. Police said Miller's wife and 2-year-old son were also in the car at the time of the incident in the suburb of Cleveland.
This contradicts the original, local report that Congressman Miller was alone in the car.
While authorities have not disclosed Hamdan's alleged motive in detail,
…the motive seems pretty obvious…
law enforcement indicated that his actions appeared intentional and targeted, prompting further legal scrutiny and public concern. The police report says that Hamdan allegedly honked his horn, shouted threats, and made aggressive gestures toward Miller while pursuing his vehicle. Witnesses said that Hamdan repeatedly attempted to block Miller's car from changing lanes before forcing it off the road.
Miller could also be heard on the 911 call saying that he had a weapon on him but was "glad I didn't use it."
According to police, the U.S. Capitol Police, Ohio State Highway Patrol, the FBI, and the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Ohio are all involved in the investigation.
[ZeroHedge] President Trump stated Thursday that a potential U.S. strike on Iranian nuclear targets could occur within a two-week window. This announcement aligns with an uptick in U.S. military activity across the USNORTHCOM, USEUCOM, and USCENTCOM theaters, including airlift missions, the deployment of aerial refueling tankers, and the repositioning of naval assets—indicators consistent with pre-strike staging. While officially framed around countering Iran's nuclear program, the operation so far suggests regime change.
Simultaneously, in the Homeland, concerns are flourishing over the possible activation of Iran-backed operatives. According to CBS News, intelligence and law enforcement officials remain focused on Hezbollah-linked sleeper cells and IRGC proxy networks, which could be directed to carry out retaliatory actions if the U.S. initiates kinetic attacks against Iran to support Israel.
Here's more from CBS News, citing multiple sources...
As President Trump is contemplating potential U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, law enforcement officials have stepped up surveillance of Iran-backed operatives in the United States, multiple sources told CBS News.
FBI Director Kash Patel has increased efforts to monitor possible domestic sleeper cells linked to Hezbollah — a U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organization backed by Iran — since Israel's Operation Rising Lion offensive began earlier this month, U.S. officials said.
...
The threat from Iranian operatives has worried current and former administration officials since Iranian General Qasem Soleimani was assassinated on Mr. Trump's orders in January 2020.
CBS noted:
Late last year, federal prosecutors charged an operative of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and two U.S.-based people with plotting to surveil and assassinate critics of the Iranian regime. The IRGC operative allegedly told investigators he was pushed by unnamed IRGC officials to plan an attack against Mr. Trump.
The threat on the Homeland has never been graver given the Biden-Harris regime of globalists facilitated the greatest invasion this nation has ever seen on the southern border, with millions of unvetted migrants, criminals, cartel gangsters, and terrorists.
In late 2024, former CIA targeting officer Sarah Adams spoke on the Shawn Ryan Show about Al-Qaeda terrorists on American soil.
Ryan asked Adams: "I just want to clarify. You are 100% certain that there are 1,000 plus Al-Qaeda-trained fighters within the U.S. borders?"
Adams, currently a global threat advisor with extensive experience in Middle Eastern affairs, responded: "Well, Al-Qaeda says they trained and deployed a thousand for this attack. First off, I think there are more than a thousand Al-Qaeda members in the United States, but for the Homeland Attack, that number is based on what Al-Qaeda is saying, so they could exaggerate it; however, they did have about 1,400 in the Hamas Attack so the number is not off from what they did in the first round of attacks."

The overlap between the Israel-Iran conflict and an elevated U.S. counter-terrorism posture signals a rising domestic threat environment should President Trump decide on direct military action. Open southern borders over the past four years via the globalists in the Biden-Harris regime have markedly increased uncertainty about the number of IRGC- or Hezbollah-linked operatives inside the country. In the event of a U.S. strike on Iran, these terror networks could conduct retaliatory attacks against high-visibility or soft targets.

[Rudaw] A suspected Iranian drone crashed in the Makhmour district of Nineveh province on Saturday. Separately, a fire broke out in Sulaimani province and officials suspect it was caused by drone or missile fragments.
"At around 1:00 pm, a fire broke out near Sheikh Mansourian village and we haven't been able to control it," Kamaran Abdullah, the administrator of Khalakan sub-district, told Rudaw. Khalakan is located near Dukan Lake.
Abdullah said locals and officials searched for the source of the fire with no luck and have speculated that "a drone or missile fragment has fallen," causing the blaze, though this has not been confirmed.
Separately, a drone crashed in the Makhmour district of Nineveh province.
Ghazi Faisal, head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s (PUK) Makhmour office, told Rudaw that the drone crashed without any explosion.
"We suspect it's an Iranian drone. We have informed the Iraqi forces and they went to retrieve it," he said.

[IsraelTimes] US officials say GHF approached the Trump administration to ask for $30 million in order to expand reach across Strip; eight said killed near aid distribution sites Saturday
The Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... Humanitarian Foundation, an organization backed by the United States and Israel that began distributing food rations in the Gaza Strip last month, said on Saturday that people in the Paleostinian enclave "desperately need more aid."
The admission by the GHF that it has been unable to meet demand came after severe criticism from other aid groups and near-daily deadly shootings near distribution points.
Gaza’s Hamas ..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... -run civil defense agency said Saturday that Israeli troops had killed at least 17 people, including eight who were seeking food at the time of the shooting. The IDF told AFP it was "looking into" the deaths that the civil defense agency reported near GHF distribution centres.
In a statement on Saturday, GHF interim executive director John Acree said that the organization was "delivering aid at scale, securely and effectively... But we cannot meet the full scale of need while large parts of Gaza remain closed."
He said the GHF was "working with the government of Israel to honour its commitment and open additional sites in northern Gaza."
"The people of Gaza desperately need more aid and we are ready to partner with other humanitarian groups to expand our reach to those who need help the most," Acree said.
As part of its efforts to expand its reach, the US- and Israel-backed group has asked US President Donald Trump ...Oh, noze! Not him!... ’s administration to step in with an initial $30 million, according to three US officials and the organization’s application for the money.
The application, obtained by the News Agency that Dare Not be Named, also offers some of the first financial details about the GHF and its work in the war-torn enclave. That includes a projection of a $150 million monthly budget once the group’s current aid sites fully gear up — an amount equal to $1.8 billion a year.
The group’s funding application was submitted to the US Agency for International Development, according to the US officials, who were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.
The application was being processed this week as potentially one of the agency’s last acts before the Republican administration absorbs USAID into the State Department as part of deep cuts in foreign assistance.
Two of the officials said they were told the administration has decided to award the money. They said the processing was moving forward with little of the review and auditing normally required before Washington makes foreign assistance grants to an organization.
In a letter submitted Thursday as part of the application, Gaza Humanitarian Foundation secretary Loik Henderson said his organization "was grateful for the opportunity to partner with you to sustain and scale life-saving operations in Gaza."
Neither the State Department nor Henderson immediately responded to requests for comment Saturday.
In documents supporting its application, the group said it received nearly $119 million for May operations from "other government donors," but gives no details. It expects $38 million from those unspecified government donors for June, in addition to the hoped-for $30 million from the United States.
Israel has insisted that it has had no part in funding the new Gaza aid operation, although the Kan public broadcaster reported earlier this month that the government had approved the transfer of NIS 700 million (some $280 million) to fund it.
GHF’s operations have been slammed as a "failure" by the United Nations ...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks... , while other aid groups have raised concerns about the group’s opaque structure and neutrality amid the war in the Gaza Strip, which has been raging since the Hamas-led massacre in southern Israel on October 7, 2023.
According to figures issued Saturday by the Hamas-run Gaza health ministry, at least 450 people have been killed and nearly 3,500 injured by Israeli fire since GHF began distributing meal boxes in late May.
The figures provided by the Strip’s health authorities cannot be independently verified and do not differentiate between combatants and civilians.
GHF has denied responsibility Nope. Nope. Wudn't us. for deaths near its aid points, contradicting statements from witnesses and Gaza rescue services.
It has said that deaths have occurred near UN food convoys.
Earlier this month, the IDF warned Paleostinians not to approach routes leading to GHF sites between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. local time, describing these roads as closed military zones. However,
today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday... the GHF has indicated it may be open during those hours.
On Monday, the head of aid group Doctors Without Borders, Christopher Lockyear, said that the "imposed system of aid delivery" in Gaza was "not only a failure, but it is dehumanizing and dangerous."
Israel’s military has continued its offensive in Gaza, even as attention has shifted to its ongoing war with Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... since June 13.
The IDF has denied firing on civilians. It says it fired warning shots in several instances, and on a few occasions, fired directly at several suspects who ignored warnings and approached Israeli forces.
Witnesses have told AFP about injuries caused by drones and tank rounds.
Civil defense front man Mahmud Bassal told AFP that three people were killed by gunfire in the southern Gaza Strip, with another five killed in a central area known as the Netzarim Corridor, where thousands of Paleostinians have gathered daily in the hope of receiving rations from a GHF centre.
Earlier this week, the UN’s World Health Organization warned that Gaza’s health system was at a "breaking point," pleading for fuel to be allowed into the territory to keep its remaining hospitals running.
In addition to the reported fire near GHF aid sites, Bassal told AFP that three people were killed on Saturday in a strike on Gaza City, in the enclave’s north, and another was killed in a strike on the southern city of Khan Younis.
A much better idea than going to Uncle Sam again, it seems to me. But what odds that the Gazan suppliers with miraculously stuffed warehouses are actually Hamas, dear Reader? I have dark suspicions….
[IsraelTimes] Arava Institute and Damour buy food from Gazan suppliers, with prices set to rise; organizations set sights on providing water and sewage system components too.
Israeli army attacks drone depots and military facility in Iran
[Regnum] The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attacked unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) depots and a military facility in Iran on the evening of June 21. This was reported by the army press service.
“The IDF is striking UAV depots and a military facility containing weapons in southwestern Iran in the Bandar Abbas area,” the Israeli military clarified on its Telegram channel.
Local residents and media reported the sounds of explosions and flashes from the fire.
As reported by Regnum News Agency, Iran began retaliatory strikes on Israel on the evening of June 13 after the IDF attacked the country. The parties continued to exchange strikes, and on June 15, Yemeni Houthis also struck Israel.
Russia has condemned Israel's attacks on Iran. President Vladimir Putin expressed concern about the conflict and Russia's readiness to undertake possible mediation efforts during talks with his American counterpart Donald Trump on June 14. The head of the White House also assessed the situation as very alarming. Then, on his social network Truth Social, the American leader wrote that he agreed with Putin and that the war between Iran and Israel must end.
The Israeli army launched a new series of strikes on Iran's missile infrastructure on the night of June 21. The attacked sites were located in the central part of the Islamic Republic. In turn, Iran also fired at Israeli territory at night.
“If the Israeli regime continues its aggression, Tehran will give a more crushing and decisive response,” the Iranian president’s press service quotes him as saying.
In addition, Pezeshkian noted: Tehran is ready to hold talks to confirm the peaceful nature of its nuclear program, but does not intend to completely abandon it.
Earlier on June 21, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic Abbas Araghchi said that Iran will not leave the US intervention in the conflict with Israel unanswered.
According to the diplomat, US President Donald Trump could convince Tel Aviv to stop attacks on Iranian targets and end the conflict with one phone call. At the same time, the head of the White House himself said that he would not appeal to the Israeli side to stop the strikes on the republic.
Iran launched a large-scale military operation against Iran on the evening of June 13 under the pretext of eliminating the threat of nuclear weapons. The Israeli army struck Iranian territory, killing several leaders of Iran's military departments. Tehran responded by striking Israeli targets. The sides continue to exchange blows.
Regnum News Agency observer Alexander Shchegolev noted in his article: the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East has taught Iran that no concessions in matters of the nuclear program will guarantee its security, unlike the nuclear bomb itself, if it were to be created.
"A nuclear facility was attacked in Isfahan. There were no leaks of hazardous substances. There is nothing to worry about," the statement said.
According to the agency, the attack was carried out on the night of June 21. It is also specified that the attack was repelled by air defense systems.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on the night of June 13, Israel launched a large-scale military operation against Iran under the pretext of eliminating the threat of nuclear weapons. The Israeli army struck Iranian territory, killing several heads of Iran's military departments. Tehran responded by striking Israeli targets.
On June 17, the Russian Foreign Ministry pointed out that Israel's illegal attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities were pushing the world toward a nuclear catastrophe. As noted in the statement by the Foreign Ministry, the threats to international security created by the Jewish state were unacceptable. Moscow called on the parties to resolve the conflict diplomatically.
I don't know what with, as I am not sure the bombers could have gotten there yet... I guess we'll find out the details later.
[BBC] US strikes Iran nuclear sites, Trump says
published at 18:58
Not giving the Mad Mullahs two weeks after all…
Donald Trump says the US has completed strikes on three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordo, Natanz and Esfahan.
"We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space," he wrote on Truth Social.
Trump added that a "full payload of bombs" were dropped on Fordo and all planes were on their way back to the US. Anyway, here's the list they had on the side of the main article:
Trump says the US has bombed nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordo
It was reported earlier that the US was sending B-2 stealth bombers to the US island of Guam - the only aircraft capable of carrying the bombs needed to destroy Iran's Fordo nuclear facility
Israel and Iran continue to exchange fire through the night; earlier Israel said it had targeted a "weapons depot" and "military infrastructure"
Earlier, Iran's foreign minister said US involvement in the Israel-Iran conflict would be "very very dangerous" while in Istanbul to meet the Turkish president
Israel's military said they killed three top Iranian military officials - including Saeed Izadi, described as being one of the architects of the 7 October attacks
BBC Verify has identified fresh damage to several buildings at an Iranian nuclear plant in the central city of Isfahan
In Iran, more than 400 people have been killed and 3,056 injured by Israeli strikes, authorities say; in Israel, 25 people have been killed by Iranian strikes and 2,517 injured since the conflict began, officials said

Obama went to war in Libya for six months without Congressional approval. Not unconstitutional, IMHO, but a violation of the War Powers Act. Trump's action is more like Reagan's bombing of Libya in 1986, neither unconstitutional nor a violation of the WPA. https://t.co/wq8zF8Telf

Apparently the six B-2s heading west to Guam were a feint. Three or four others that were untracked delivered the strike (there on Fordow, some are saying another on Natanz). Sub launched cruise missiles apparently went to Natanz and Esfahan.

Whew! One existential situation dealt with. Now Israel needs only worry about more ballistic missiles and drones, while the rest of the world needs only worry about Hezbollah sleeper cells and IRGC networks that entered the country any time after 9/11 or thereabouts.

I don't get where this belief Trump wanted to nuke them is coming from. There's no need or reason to use Nukes for this. Airspace was already dominated, AA virtually non existent so there's no pressure for nuke use.
The only way I see Trump nuking someone is they nuke us first or some kind of massive attack with super high death toll.

[Regnum] The number of American missile destroyers with missile defense in the Mediterranean Sea has grown to five. This was reported by the naval publication USNI News, citing a source in the US Department of Defense.
“The United States has deployed five guided missile destroyers equipped with anti-missile weapons in the Mediterranean Sea,” the article says.
According to the source, the destroyers USS Paul Ignatius and USS Oscar Austin, based in Rota, Spain, entered the Mediterranean Sea. They joined the USS Arleigh Burke, USS Thomas Hudner and USS The Sullivans, which were already there. In addition, the guided missile destroyers USS Forrest Sherman and USS Truxtun are in the Red Sea.
All five destroyers are capable of intercepting ballistic missiles using the Standard Missile 3. Last year, the U.S. military used the SM-3 in combat for the first time to intercept an Iranian ballistic missile, the article said.
The US is moving the destroyers amid escalating conflict between Iran and Israel that began on June 13.
Earlier, the US Navy announced that a strike group led by the aircraft carrier USS Gerald Ford was moving to Europe. The ships will leave the US port on June 24.
[Rudaw] Syrian security forces on Saturday detained Wassim al-Assad, cousin of toppled dictator Bashar al-Assad, according to state media.
He was detained in rural Homs, near the border with Lebanon.
“The Internal Security Forces, in cooperation with the General Intelligence Service, were able to arrest the criminal Wassim al-Assad on the Syrian-Lebanese border,” a security source in Homs told SANA.
The US sanctioned Wassim in 2023 for leading a paramilitary group for his cousin and trafficking captagon - the amphetamine drug that flooded the Middle East. During the Assad regime, Syria was a main supplier of the drug.
Assad and members of his family fled to Russia when his reign was ended by a coalition of rebel groups last December.
[Rudaw] Israel on Saturday claimed to have killed two commanders in Iran’s elite Quds Force.
“ELIMINATED: Saeed Izadi, a founder of the Iranian regime’s plan to destroy Israel, was eliminated in a precise IDF strike in the area of Qom,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on X.
The IDF said Izadi commanded the Palestine Corps of the Quds Force, the elite wing of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) primarily responsible for foreign operations, and accused him of being “one of the main orchestrators” of Hamas’ October 7, 2023 attack on Israel.
Izadi was sanctioned by the United States and United Kingdom over ties to Hamas.
The IDF said Izadi also directed Hamas forces operating in Lebanon.
The IRGC has not confirmed his death.
Tasnim News, which is affiliated with the IRGC, said a 16-year-old student was killed in an Israeli strike on a residential building in Qom on Saturday morning. In addition, 22 people were arrested in Qom accused of spying for Israel, according to Tasnim.
The IDF also claimed it killed Behnam Shahriyari, who commanded the Weapons Transfer Unit of the Quds Force, in a precision strike in western Iran.
“Shahriyari was responsible for all weapons transfers from the Iranian regime to its proxies across the Middle East in order to directly advance the Iranian regime’s plan to destroy Israel,” the IDF said.
Shahriyari was also sanctioned by the US and UK. In 2024, he was charged in the US with terrorism and evading sanctions as part of a billion-dollar network selling oil to fund the Quds Force.
His death has also not been confirmed by Iran.
In its operation against Iran, Israel has targeted the top echelon of Iran’s military, killing many senior commanders including IRGC commander General Hossein Salami, chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri, head of IRGC’s main operational command General Gholam Ali Rashid, and head of the IRGC’s aerospace division General Amir Ali Hajizadeh.

[Rudaw] Kurdish-led security forces (Asayish) on Saturday said that they repelled an Islamic State (ISIS) attack in eastern Syria’s Deir ez-Zor province and warned of an increase of attacks in the area.
“On Friday at 10:30 pm, using a motorcycle and machine guns, an ISIS terrorist cell attacked the al-Atal roundabout checkpoint in the town of al-Shuhail. Our forces repelled the attack and forced the attackers to flee, without sustaining any casualties or damage,” the Asayish said in a statement.
It added that there has been an “intensification” of ISIS attacks in the area, particularly in and around the towns of al-Shuhail, Dhiban, and al-Busayrah on the Euphrates River about 90 kilometres from the Iraqi border.
The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the de facto army of northeast Syria (Rojava), has carried out numerous operations this year to counter what they say is a resurgence in ISIS activity targeting both their forces and civilians.
ISIS and its so-called “caliphate” was territorially defeated in 2019, but the group has recently sought to regain ground, taking advantage of instability in Syria following the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
Earlier in June, the United States killed an ISIS official “who was involved in planning external operations threatening US citizens, our partners, and civilians” in an airstrike in northwest Syria.
