Africa Horn
Malnutrition and cholera ravage besieged El Fasher, UN warns
[SUDANTRIBUNE] An estimated 260,000 civilians are trapped in the besieged Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
ese city of El Fasher, where malnutrition and disease are claiming young lives daily, the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
said on Wednesday.

The North Darfur capital has been under siege for more than 500 days and cut off from aid for over 16 months, turning it into an ''epicentre of suffering'' for children, UN spokesperson St phane Dujarric said.

Acute malnutrition is spreading rapidly, with recent reports indicating that at least 63 people, mostly women and kiddies, died from the condition in a single week. More than 10,000 children have been treated for severe acute malnutrition since January, but the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) said the depletion of supplies has forced a suspension of services.

A cholera outbreak is compounding the crisis, with more than 7,000 cases reported in North Darfur and another 3,000 in Blue Nile state. The UN reported that new cases are emerging in remote communities with limited access to healthcare.

Aid delivery is hampered by insecurity, bureaucratic hurdles, severe underfunding, and heavy rains that have made key roads impassable, disrupting the delivery of medical supplies.

Britain
Israel says it won’t participate in upcoming UK weapons show after Defense Ministry officials barred from taking part
[IsraelTimes] The Israeli Defense Ministry announces it will not participate in the upcoming DSEI UK 2025 defense exhibition in London, which takes place next month, after the British government decided to restrict the official participation of Israeli government and military representatives.

The “harmful and disgraceful” move was directly targeted at Israeli representatives, the Defense Ministry charges. As a result, Israel will not establish a national pavilion at the exhibition, though Israeli defense industries that choose to attend will still receive full ministry support.

The ministry criticizes the decision as a political step that “serves extremists, grants legitimacy to terror, and is driven by political considerations that fall outside the professional and customary framework of international defense exhibitions.”

The decision to restrict the Defense Ministry’s participation in the event was first reported yesterday by Politico. The outlet cited a spokesman for the UK government, who confirmed that Israel’s plans to expand the fighting in the Gaza Strip and capture Gaza City had led to the decision.

Unnamed government officials told Politico that Israeli arms companies would be allowed to participate as normal, however, and that large protests should be expected in the area of the conference as a result.

Scots Heroine, British Shame.

… Lola - Lola is the hero from the video. She's the one with the axe defending her sister from the migrant attackers

Ruby - Lola's older sister who was attacked and hospitalized

Mayah - Ruby's best friend who was with them and went to call the police after Ruby was attacked by the migrants

Here's the summary of what happened from Mayah's mother:

"Yes. So what happened was the girls where out just walking and the man in the picture made comments to lola(the younger girl) calling her sexy and other sexual remarks then the girls started to tell this man to leave them alone and stop following them and making sexual remarks to them. After that the man's sister (also in the picture) came around the corner and physically attacked ruby(the older sister) she grabbed her hair dragged her to the floor started to punch her then both the man and woman where kicking her in head while she was on the floor. At this point my daughter (mayah) called the police so my daughters account after that is all abit blurry. But that is when lola had the weapons she pulled them out to protect ruby. After that the man came back at lola recording her making sure she showed the weapons to the camera and antagonising her. Ruby was hospitalised after the attack with a severe concussion a tennis ball sized lump to the back of her head aswell as lots of bruises."

Key bits from theUPDATE as of August 25, 2025, on the assumption that it is real — can someone dig into it to find out?
  • The girl, initially charged with possession of an offensive weapon, has been released on bail pending further investigation. The case is under review with self defense being taken into account.

  • The alleged attacker, a 28 year old man of migrant background, has been charged with attempted sexual assault and is currently in custody.

  • The case has reignited debates on self defense laws, youth protection, and immigration policies in Scotland with a review of self defense legislation to conclude by early 2026.
My take, again assuming it’s real: the girl will get away with it this time, the man will be convicted and go to jail until the heat dies down, and current laws will continue to be enforced in favour of the colonists until a populist government in English forces changes throughout Britain (England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland). Or until a tipping point is reached, and the natives rise up to clear the land with fire and sword of this imported pestilence and the uncaring governing class that indulges it.

Israeli intel helped Australia uncover Iran’s role in antisemitic attacks – report
[IsraelTimes] Sky News Australia says Israel gave investigators lead on a firebombing, noting it shows intelligence-sharing still strong despite diplomatic spat between Jerusalem and Canberra

A tip from Israeli intelligence helped Australia in its investigation of Iran’s orchestration of two antisemitic attacks carried out last year, Sky News Australia reported Wednesday, citing anonymous sources.

The Australian Security Intelligence Organization had already determined that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was behind the attacks on a Sydney kosher restaurant and Melbourne synagogue, both late last year, the network reported.

But Israeli intelligence gave ASIO a lead connected to one of the Molotov cocktailings, the report said.

According to the report, the tip indicated that the intelligence relationship between Israel and Australia remains strong, despite a major diplomatic spat between Jerusalem and Canberra.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese accused Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
on Tuesday of being behind the attacks on Jewish sites. He said Australia will designate the IRGC as a terror group and expelled Tehran’s ambassador.

Canberra’s order for Iranian Ambassador Ahmad Sadeghi to leave within seven days was its first such expulsion of any foreign ambassador since World War II. Sadeghi was seen preparing to leave the country on Thursday, heading for a flight out of Sydney.

The Australian government told Sadeghi that he would be expelled shortly before making the accusation public, Albanese said.

Albanese previously resisted calls to expel Iran’s envoy to Canberra before, analysts said, including in 2024 when Sadeghi was summoned for meetings with foreign ministry officials over his social media posts.

Australia said on Tuesday that Iran sought to disguise its involvement in two 2024 attacks, at the Adass Israel Synagogue in Melbourne and a kosher restaurant in Sydney, by using criminals and members of organized crime gangs.

According to a Wednesday report, bungling criminals twice targeted the wrong Sydney venue before eventually torching the restaurant.

Australia’s intelligence agency also said it traced to Iran the funding of criminals who allegedly set fire to the Adass Israel Synagogue in Melbourne in December, even as those charged with the crime were likely unaware Tehran was their puppet master.

Australia’s spy chief Mike Burgess said a series of "cut outs," an intelligence term for intermediaries, were used to conceal Iran’s involvement in the attacks, and warned that the country may have orchestrated others.

Canberra is the latest Western government to accuse Iran of carrying out hostile covert activities on its soil.

Last month, 14 countries, including Britannia, the US, and La Belle France, condemned what they called a surge in liquidation, kidnapping, and harassment plots by Iranian intelligence services.

Israeli intelligence has a history of tipping off foreign counterparts when it has information that could help them thwart attacks on their soil.

In 2017, Israeli intelligence informed ASIO of a plot to bomb an Etihad Airways flight from Sydney, Sky News Australia noted.

Israeli-organized music festival shut down by Portugal police after BDS campaign
[IsraelTimes] Anta Gathering, a five-day music festival organized by Israelis scheduled to kick off today in central Portugal, was shut down by local police following a campaign by BDS Portugal.

The organizers announce the cancellation on social media.

“In the last days, we faced a well-funded and orchestrated BDS campaign built on lies and hatred,” they write. “For months, they worked to sabotage our vision, spreading disinformation fueled by money and nationalism. Their goal was never about music or community, but only to divide, intimidate and cause pain. The damage has been devastating and made it impossible to move forward.”

The event, advertised as a “psychedelic journey,” was organized by two Israeli brothers to be held at a mountaintop retreat owned by their Israeli cousin.

The festival producers say they will refund anyone who requests it, but ask people to consider not canceling their ticket or requesting a full refund in order to help them pay suppliers, legal and other expenses.

“Anta is about love, freedom and community — and no campaign of hate will ever destroy that,” write the organizers. “With your support, we will heal, rebuild, and dance together again,” the last words a reference to the Nova desert rave attacked by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023.

The organizers said yesterday that they had been hit with additional regulations and bureaucracy by local authorities just before the start of the festival, which they blamed on BDS pressure and threats aimed at canceling the event.

Germany: Munich car ramming suspect charged with murder
[DW] The attack in February killed a two-year-old girl and her mother and injured dozens of people. The prosecutor's office said the suspect, an Afghan national, had an Islamist motive.

Germany's Federal Prosecution on Tuesday filed charges against a man accused of driving a car into a demonstration by trade union Verdi in Munich, killing two people.

    The suspect, named Farhad N.
…more fully Farhad Noori, the arrogant Moslem colonist whose asylum application was rejected, but he was not deported anyway…
in accordance with Germany's privacy laws, is accused of two charges of murder and 44 charges of attempted murder, the prosecution said, with his motive being his "excessive religious motivation."

Farhad N., an Afghan national, said he decided to carry out the attack and kill Germans indiscriminately as a reaction to the suffering of Moslems in predominantly Islamic countries, according to the prosecution.

The attack took place last February, as Germany's biggest trade union, Verdi, held a demonstration in Munich.

A 37-year-old woman and her 2-year-old daughter were killed in the attack, and many others were severely injured.

The Higher Regional Court in Munich will have to approve the charges.

The Munich attack was carried out less than two weeks before the German general election, heating the debate on tougher migration policies. The AfD achieved its best-ever result in that election, with over 20% of the vote.

Then-opposition leader and now-Chancellor Friedrich Merz, of the conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU), said that the safety of the people in Germany would be a priority for his future government.

The Bavarian branch of the AfD party demanded that Bavarian Premier Markus Söder, from the conservative CSU party, resign. The CSU is the sister party of the CDU.

Söder himself said that a "fundamental" change has to take place in Germany.

    Fifth Column
Microsoft Fires Radical Anti-Israel Employees Who Stormed President's Office
[Free Beacon] Microsoft fired four radical anti-Israel employees following a series of disruptions on the company’s campus, including when a group stormed and occupied the office of its president, Brad Smith.

Seven agitators, including the two Microsoft employees, Anna Hattle and Riki Fameli, and a former Google employee, broke into Smith's Redmond, Washington, office on Tuesday, then locked and barricaded the door with chairs and tables. They livestreamed their demand that he appear in "the people's court" for his "crimes against humanity," including "complicity in genocide" and assisting in "kidnap and torture." The agitators said his "failure to appear will result in increased escalations against yourself and all Microsoft executives."
Sounds like Black Bloc tactics in Red/Green alliance to me…
Police stormed in shortly thereafter, clashed with the agitators, and arrested the group, resulting in an abrupt end to the live feed. The two Microsoft employees were fired the next day, a company spokeswoman told the Washington Free Beacon.

UK, France, Germany launch process to impose snapback sanctions on Iran
[IsraelTimes] US, Israel praise move as FM Sa’ar calls measures an ‘important step’ in countering Iranian nuclear ambitions; Tehran to continue talks with E3 before they take effect

Britannia, La Belle France and Germany announced Thursday their decision to reimpose UN sanctions on Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
over its nuclear program, sparking indignation from Iranian officials and praise in Israel and the United States.

The step was announced in a letter to the UN Security Council sent by the European powers as they launched a 30-day process to once again level punitive measures against the Islamic Theocratic Republic.

The so-called E3 had been threatening to trigger the so-called snapback mechanism for months, and stood to lose their ability to restore sanctions come mid-October under the provisions of a 2015 nuclear accord with Tehran.

The three European signatories to the now-moribund deal held several rounds of talks with Iran since Israel and the US struck its nuclear installations in mid-June in an effort set back Tehran’s nuclear and ballistic missile program.

The talks were aimed at reaching an agreement to defer the mechanism, but the E3 deemed that talks in Geneva on Tuesday did not yield sufficiently tangible commitments from Iran.

The European nations accused Tehran of having decisively violated the deal aimed at keeping the regime from attaining a nuclear weapon. The US, which was party to that deal, pulled out under President Donald Trump
    ...The Hero of Butler, Pennsylvania...
in 2018, and held failed indirect negotiations earlier this year with Tehran.

La Belle France and Germany’s foreign ministers stressed that the decision, which will only yield concrete sanctions by the end of September, did not signal the end of diplomacy with Tehran.

"We are determined to use the 30-day period that is opening to engage in dialogue with Iran," La Belle France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said on X. "We remain committed to diplomacy to ensure that Iran never acquires a nuclear weapon."

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul called for Iran’s full cooperation with the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency and a clear commitment to direct negotiations with the United States, saying diplomacy can still continue.

A senior Iranian official speaking to Rooters said the move was "an action against diplomacy, not a chance for it." He admitted that Iran would continue diplomacy with the E3, but "will not concede under pressure."

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran would "respond appropriately" to the decision, deriding the step as "illegal and unjustified."

The E3’s ministers informed US Secretary of State Marco Rubio
...The diminutive 13-year-old Republican U.S. Senator from Florida, Secretary of State in the second Trump administration...
of their decision Wednesday, saying they hoped that Iran would engage by the end of September to provide commitments over its nuclear program that would convince them to defer concrete action.

Rubio welcomed the decision in a statement Thursday, stressing that the European powers had pursued negotiations before moving to enact sanctions.

"These European allies have laid out a clear case of Iran’s continuing ’significant non-performance’ of its nuclear commitments, establishing a strong basis for initiating snapback," Rubio said.

"The E3 could have initiated snapback at any point since 2019 but chose instead to first pursue intensive outreach and engagement — to provide Iran with a diplomatic offramp from its strategy of nuclear escalation," he continued.

The move was also met with high praise from Israeli officials, with Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar calling the sanctions "inevitable," while cautioning that Iran hasn’t given up on its aim of attaining a nuclear weapon.

Writing on X, he hailed the move as "an important step in the diplomatic campaign to counter the Iranian regime’s nuclear ambitions."

Israel’s Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon also praised the action, saying that the "countries of the world are... joining the fight against the axis of evil."

"This is an important step on the way to stopping the Iranian nuclear program and increasing pressure on the regime in Tehran," he added.

Israel’s UN envoy: Western leaders recognizing Palestinian state to ‘blow off steam’
[IsraelTimes] Danny Danon says ‘disconnected’ countries want to ‘show they’re doing something’ at next month’s UN General Assembly, though move won’t have any impact beyond ‘hindering’ hostage talks

Even before Western leaders began announcing plans to recognize a Paleostinian state at the United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
General Assembly next month, the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict was poised to be at the top of the confab’s agenda.

    The Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
war could well be nearing a grim second-year anniversary then, with dozens of hostages kidnapped during the Hamas
    ..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
-led attack that began the conflict still in captivity and the Paleostinian corpse count continuing to mount in the war-ravaged enclave.

"These countries want to show that they are doing something, so they blow off steam by coming up with these declarative statements," Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon said in a Wednesday interview with The Times of Israel, referring to the plans of La Belle France, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada to recognize the state of Paleostine.

The Israeli envoy argued that the announcements won’t actually advance the establishment of a Paleostinian state on the ground, which Jerusalem vehemently opposes. What they have practically impacted, though, are the negotiations for a ceasefire and hostage release deal in the Gaza Strip, Danon said.

"I have no doubt that these decisions are hindering the negotiations," he asserted, noting that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio
...The diminutive 13-year-old Republican U.S. Senator from Florida, Secretary of State in the second Trump administration...
    has made the same argument.

An Arab diplomat and a second source involved in the negotiations told The Times of Israel that Hamas’s new demands that led the US and Israel to pull out of hostage talks were submitted several hours prior to French President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement on July 24 that Gay Paree would recognize a Paleostinian state at the UN General Assembly in September.

    Since then, Egypt and Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
i mediators managed to coax Hamas to come down from its new demands and agree to their proposal for a phased ceasefire that is nearly identical to the one accepted by Israel last month, according to the two sources.

Israel has avoided responding to the proposal, though, and is moving ahead with plans for the IDF to take over Gaza City.

"Things are currently being considered and reviewed. We have agreed to many proposals to date and the government will have to make a decision [on the latest proposal], while making sure that we are still able to achieve our war aims," Danon said, ostensibly referring to Israel’s effort to defeat Hamas in addition to releasing the hostages.

Danon argued that the "disconnected" Western leaders planning to recognize a Paleostinian state are the ones ignoring the ongoing ceasefire negotiations, with their announcements actually aimed at improving their respective domestic political standings.

Proponents of recognizing Paleostinian statehood argue that it is a moral imperative amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and is a necessary step to revive prospects for a two-state solution by actualizing the establishment of a Paleostinian state that they want to exist alongside Israel.

But with no Israeli buy-in, Hamas still the most dominant Paleostinian force in Gaza and Israeli steps aimed that risk collapsing an already-weak Paleostinian Authority in the West Bank, it’s unclear how recognition will shift dynamics on the ground.

ISRAELI FORCES OVER ARAB TROOPS IN GAZA
Danon acknowledged that La Belle France’s statehood recognition initiative was coupled with a joint statement backed by the entire Arab League
...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing...
calling for Hamas to disarm and end its rule in Gaza.

"But when I asked my colleagues how exactly Hamas would be removed from Gaza, they didn’t have a good answer," the Israeli envoy recalled.

The Biden administration secured commitments from several Arab countries to provide funding and troops to help secure and revive the Strip after the war, including by working to disarm the remnants of Hamas, a former US official and an Arab diplomat have told The Times of Israel.

    However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well...
that assistance from Arab countries remains conditioned on the Gaza reconstruction’s inclusion of a reformed Paleostinian Authority, as part of the establishment of a pathway toward a two-state solution — something Israel vehemently opposes.

Danon was dismissive of the Arab offer, suggesting international forces would not be willing to enter Gaza so long as Hamas is still active in the Strip.

In the meantime, Israel is going about trying to eradicate Hamas on its own, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu framing an upcoming operation to take over Gaza City as being aimed at dismantling the terror group’s final stronghold. However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well...
the premier characterized a 2024 invasion of Rafah in a similar manner, while Hamas has adapted from an organized militia to a guerrilla insurgency that aims to thrive off an extended Israeli presence in Gaza.

Danon insisted that Israeli military pressure on Hamas is what brought the terrorist organization to release hostages in the past — "Not declarations at the UN or discussions in the Security Council."

"We are fighting so that today’s Hamas is not the Hamas of October 7, rather than issuing statements at the UN in an air-conditioned room," he said.

    ’CAMPAIGN RUN FROM PARIS’
Danon surmised that the drive behind the latest plans to recognize a Paleostinian state is not coming from Ramallah this time, but rather color:gray;' title='Paris'>Gay Paree.

"The campaign is being run from Gay Paree, which is not only recognizing [a Paleostinian state], but is also pressuring other countries" to do the same, Danon said, while highlighting that the recognitions have been hailed by Hamas as the "fruit" of its October 7 onslaught.

The Israeli envoy said he has been in touch with French officials who have kept Jerusalem informed of their plans "after the fact."

As for whether any of the countries planning to recognize a Paleostinian state next month could backtrack, Danon was not definitive, but he did note countries like Germany that have resisted the trend, arguing that the conditions aren’t ripe and that it won’t improve the situation on the ground.

Asked whether there is a way to minimize the impact of the Paleostine recognitions, Danon said Israel is in dialogue with various countries on the matter.

"We are conveying our messages, but it is clear to us that right now the atmosphere is a challenging one, given that we are almost two years since the events of October 7," he explained. "We are fighting every day to remind the world about the hostages, about whom we hear less and less from other countries."

    NO US-ISRAELI RETALIATION PLANNED
Danon said Israel is closely coordinating with the US on the matter but that there is no joint campaign aimed at sanctioning countries that choose to recognize a Paleostinian state.

Washington has come out against the move and has criticized countries that have taken the step, but US President Donald Trump
...So far he's been unkillable, and they've tried....
has also said the leaders involved have a right to their opinions on the matter.

Still, the Israeli envoy hailed the Trump administration’s effort to support Israel at the UN, including securing invitations for former Hamas captives and hostage families to brief the Security Council.

While the Biden administration took similar steps, Danon argued that Israel had to work harder to secure its support than it has since Trump took office.

The Biden administration blocked repeated Security Council resolutions and joint statements calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza but did allow two measures opposed by Israel to pass — one that called for increasing aid into the Strip and another that called for an unconditional hostage release and ceasefire during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan in March 2024.

"It felt sometimes as if it was costing them [to support the Israeli government’s positions]. It wasn’t easy for them," Danon maintained. "With the current administration, you can see that they’re genuinely proud to be supporting us, and the decision to do so is more natural for them."

Arab countries, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula, largely made up of sand and oil rigs. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual haj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Formerly dictatorial and steeped in Olde Tyme Religion, deferring to Salafist holy men on all issues, it has now done a 180 and is making a serious effort to modernize, so as not to be left in the sand by its Gulf Arab neighbors. The holy men have been shoved to the background and the nation is now still dictatorial but somewhat rational. That doesn't make them trustworthy, but it's a start...
and Egypt, have signed onto a statement calling for Hamas to disarm and end its rule of Gaza, in a bid to end the devastating war in the Paleostinian territory.

Seventeen countries, plus the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
and Arab League, are throwing their weight behind a seven-page text — obtained by The Times of Israel — agreed at a United Nations conference on reviving the two-state solution for Israel and the Paleostinians.

"In the context of ending the war in Gaza, Hamas must end its rule in Gaza and hand over its weapons to the Paleostinian Authority, with international engagement and support, in line with the objective of a sovereign and independent Paleostinian State," says the declaration.

The text also condemns the deadly Hamas attacks against Israel on October 7, 2023, which launched the war.

La Belle France, which is co-chairing the conference with Saudi Arabia, calls the declaration "both historic and unprecedented."

"For the first time, Arab countries and those in the Middle East condemn Hamas, condemn October 7, call for the disarmament of Hamas, call for its exclusion from Paleostinian governance, and clearly express their intention to normalize relations with Israel in the future," says French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot.

The text, co-signed by La Belle France, Britannia, and Canada among other Western nations, also calls for the possible deployment of foreign forces to stabilize Gaza after the end of hostilities.

Israel and its ally, the United States, did not take part in the meeting.

"We supported the deployment of a temporary international stabilization mission upon invitation by the Paleostinian Authority and under the aegis of the United Nations and in line with UN principles, building on existing UN capacities, to be mandated by the UN Security Council, with appropriate regional and international support," says the declaration.

UN Security Council renews Lebanon peacekeeping mission 'for a final time'
[GEO.TV] The United Nations Security Council on Thursday unanimously extended "for a final time" a long-running peacekeeping mission in Lebanon until the end of 2026, when the operation will then begin a year-long "orderly and safe drawdown and withdrawal."

The UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), established in 1978, patrols Lebanon's southern border with Israel.

The 15-member council unanimously adopted a French-drafted resolution after a compromise was reached with the United States, a veto-wielding council member.

The Security Council decided "to extend for a final time the mandate of UNIFIL."

The resolution "requests UNIFIL to cease its operations on 31 December 2026 and to start from this date and within one year its orderly and safe drawdown and withdrawal of its personnel, in close consultation with the Government of Lebanon with the aim of making Lebanon Government the sole provider of security in southern Lebanon."

Ben Gvir plans new policy barring protests on major roads or at synagogues
[IsraelTimes] Police minister seeks AG’s approval but vows to implement policy regardless if she does not respond within 5 days; opposition MKs decry attempt to ‘trample’ free expression

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir is seeking to implement a new policy dictating how police are to handle protests, which would forbid demonstrators from blocking major roads or rallying at synagogues.
Oh thank goodness. Now enforce it, preferably with jail time, since flogging is no longer socially acceptable.
The plan is highly likely to face significant legal challenges.

The new policy, published in full Thursday, would prohibit protests blocking highways and major routes, as well as roads leading to hospitals, isolated towns, emergency routes and Ben Gurion Airport.

It would also require protesters to obtain approval from the police, who Ben Gvir oversees, in order to block roads within cities. Protests at synagogues would likewise be prohibited based on the claim that they impede freedom of religion. (Protesters have sometimes demonstrated against religious politicians at the synagogues they frequent.)

"Freedom of religion and the [freedom of] conscience for worshipers in the synagogue overrides the freedom to protest within or at the site of a synagogue or any other house of worship," the document reads.

Ben Gvir said he he had sought the approval of Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara for the move several months ago, but claimed he received no response. He issued an ultimatum to the legal official Thursday, vowing to implement the restrictions regardless of her approval should she fail to respond within five days.

Several senior coppers voiced their displeasure with the restrictions, telling the Ynet news outlet that decisions regarding such matters should be made by officers on the ground, rather than an elected official.

Ben Gvir in April signed a legally binding compromise with the attorney general, which requires him to confer with her and the Israel Police chief before setting policy on matters of protests and freedom of expression.

The policy must be "published ahead of time" and be "future-oriented, public, general, equal and not be determined, published or changed according to [specific] protest events," per the agreement.

Ben Gvir has feuded regularly with Baharav-Miara over his interference in police matters, particularly regarding the issues of anti-government protests and police promotions. She has frequently claimed that the minister’s behavior threatens to harm the force’s professional, apolitical character.

The government voted recently to push Baharav-Miara out of her post — a move that was frozen by the High Court until further notice as it prepares to review it.

The far-right minister went public with his policy document days after protesters for a hostage-ceasefire deal staged nationwide demonstrations, blocking major highways between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Two major days of protest have swept the country over the past two weeks, and organizers have vowed to continue to bring people out into the streets in a bid to exert pressure on the government to sign off on the hostage deal proposal on the table.

IDF inaugurates 1st joint air and ground forces base, implementing lessons learned on Oct. 7
[IsraelTimes] The IDF says it inaugurated a new training base yesterday for the Combat Intelligence Collection Array at Ovda Airbase, marking the first time the Ground Forces and air force will jointly operate a base.

The facility, part of the Border Defense Corps school, is designed to centralize the professional training of combat intelligence soldiers, with a focus on aerial and ground intelligence collection. According to the IDF, the move reflects lessons learned from the October 7 attack and aims to strengthen cooperation between the branches.

“This is an unprecedented step — establishing a [Ground Forces] training base inside [Ovda Airbase],” said Ground Forces head Maj. Gen. Nadav Lotan. He added that the project was part of efforts to build combat intelligence into a professional framework, stressing that the new base would provide “resilience for the observers and the readiness of the array.”

Israeli Air Force chief Maj. Gen. Tomer Bar said the initiative underscored the power of joint operations.

“Cooperation between the ground forces and the Air Force proves its strength as a significant force multiplier, one that has no substitute,” he said. “Today we are paving a new and shared path — operational, infrastructural, and cultural. This is the beginning of a deep process that spreads along and across the air force and the Ground Forces, a process that will strengthen the IDF and strengthen the security of the State of Israel.”

    Strip if Paleostinian group Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
stands by its refusal to lay down its weapons.

The far-right minister, who has vocally opposed striking a deal with Hamas to end the nearly two-year war, presented his plan to "win in Gaza by the end of the year" at a presser in Jerusalem.

Under Smotrich's proposal, Hamas would be given an ultimatum to surrender, disarm and release the hostages still held in Gaza since the group's October 2023 attack that triggered the war.

If Hamas refuses, Smotrich said Israel should annex a section of the territory each week for four weeks, bringing most of the Gaza Strip under full Israeli control.

"This can be achieved in three to four months," he said.

Hamas responded to Smotrich's statement, saying that his words represent "an official call to exterminate our people", Al Jazeera reported.

"Smotrich's statements are an official admission of the use of starvation and siege against innocent civilians as a weapon'', the statement continued.

Iraq to return over 200 nationals from Syria's al-Hol Thursday: Ministry
[Rudaw] Iraq's migration and displacement ministry announced they would repatriate over 200 Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
-linked (ISIS) families from Syria's al-Hol camp on Thursday evening, as part of Baghdad's ongoing efforts to empty the notorious facility which Iraq views as a threat to its national security.

"Around 800 Iraqi national individuals will return home from al-Hol camp of Syria this evening," Ali Abbas, spokesperson for Iraq's Ministry of Migration and Displacement, told Rudaw.

Abbas added they do not know "the exact number until after they arrive because the lists we have are old and numbers could change."

Thursday's repatriation marks the 29th batch of its kind since the Iraqi government started the campaign in 2021, two years after the territorial defeat of ISIS in the neighboring country.

Located in eastern Syria's Hasakah province, al-Hol camp is infamous for its squalid conditions and has been branded a breeding ground for terrorism. Iraqis and Syrians make up the majority of the nearly 40,000 ISIS-linked people who have been held at the camp since the defeat of the group in 2019. There are also people in the camp from around the world who had traveled to join the so-called ISIS caliphate.

Kurdish politician and member of the migration committee in the Iraqi parliament Sherwan Dubardani told Rudaw that those who will be returned Thursday come from Anbar, Nineveh, Salahaddin, and Babil provinces.

The families will be temporarily placed at al-Jadaa camp in Nineveh province, where they will be rehabilitated before being allowed to return to their home communities.

Iraq has repeatedly expressed its serious concerns that al-Hol is a threat to its national security. The camp acts as a "ticking bomb," to Iraqi national security, Chargé d'Affaires at the Embassy of Iraq in Damascus, Yassin Sharif al-Hujaimi, told Rudaw on Wednesday.

Iraq has recently sent out invitations to all countries that have nationals at the al-Hol camp to attend an international conference in New York next September in a bid to discuss mechanisms to empty and subsequently dismantle the notorious facility.

Iraq has been repatriating its citizens from the camps in groups and providing rehabilitation. Baghdad's aim is to encourage more countries to follow suit.

Other countries, however, remain reluctant to take back their nationals over fears of murderous Moslem ideology spreading at home.

Baghdad has set a goal of repatriating all Iraqi citizens from camps in Rojava by 2027.

[NAHARNET] A Lebanese leader and a Lebanese party official have reached an agreement on the Lebanese Army's plan for disarming Hezbollah that will be presented to Cabinet on September 2, informed sources said.

The plan will be implemented over two phases: ''the first in the South Litani region, where the government will fully implement Resolution 1701 without objection from Hezbollah,'' the sources told the al-Anbaa news portal.

As for the second phase, the unnamed Lebanese leader and the unnamed party official ''agreed that it would be continued through dialogue and without a clash,'' the sources added.
