[Regnum] The film company "Triix Media" began filming the action-packed series "SPETSY" in the Dzheyrakhsky District of Ingushetia, dedicated to the FSB special forces. This was reported on July 24 by REN TV, which ordered the film.
On the first day of filming, the scene of the militant leader's arrest was shot. The production team plans to actively involve local actors and residents of the republic in the work. Filming will take place in different regions of the Caucasus, as well as in Crimea and the Arctic.
The project is based on real events and will show in detail for the first time the operations of the FSB Special Purpose Center (SPC). The main characters are collective images of special forces soldiers who participated in the liquidation of the terrorist group "Imarat Kavkaz" (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation), which operated in the North Caucasus from 2007 to 2015.

[IsraelTimes] Greece will deploy a salvage vessel in the Red Sea to assist in maritime accidents and protect seafarers and global shipping, the shipping minister says, following attacks on two Greek vessels by Yemen’s Houthi rebels this month.
Two Liberia-flagged, Greek-operated cargo ships, Magic Seas and Eternity C, sank off Yemen after repeated attacks by the Iran-aligned militant group.
The strikes on the two vessels marked a resumption of attacks on shipping by the Houthis, who struck more than 100 ships between November 2023 and December 2024 in what they said was a show of solidarity with the Palestinians in the war in Gaza.
Shipping Minister Vassilis Kikilias says the salvage vessel — called Giant and provided by the Hellenic Association of Tugboat Owners — will “support, protect and assist Greek-owned vessels and Greek seafarers.”
All of the crew members from the Magic Seas were rescued by a passing ship.
The crew of the Eternity C had to abandon the ship. Ten were rescued by a privately led mission, but five more are feared dead and the Houthis are believed to be holding another 10 crew members, maritime security sources have said.
Aspides, the European Union naval mission protecting shipping in the Red Sea, did not have assets in the area at the time of the incidents.
Giant is manned by a specialist crew of 14 Greek sailors, has four engines with 16,000 horsepower, and can sail in the most adverse weather conditions, the Shipping Ministry says.
It can participate in search and rescue operations, with accommodation for 40 people, help prevent marine pollution and also has firefighting capacity.

[IsraelTimes] An investigation commissioned by Boston Consulting Group has found that some of its US-based staff sidestepped its risk controls to do work related to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation and to “post-war reconstruction” for the Palestinian enclave, the consulting firm says.
That sounds like it was a passion project. BCG is lucky they’re getting paid instead of working pro bono or negotiated a contract that just covered expenses before they spun them off to avoid the cultural backlash.
In a response to a British parliamentary committee inquiry published on Thursday, BCG details the role some of its staff played in establishing the GHF during late 2024 and early this year, and then the efforts made by one of its managing directors to carry out further work in March.
The operations of the US- and Israel-backed GHF have been beset by violence and chaos, including deadly shootings of scores of Palestinians near its food distribution sites guarded by Israeli forces, Reuters has reported.
The UN and other humanitarian groups have refused to work with GHF, questioning its neutrality and criticizing the new distribution model as dangerous.
“We deeply regret that, in connection with the work about which the committee has asked, we did not live up to our standards,” BCG said in its July 22-dated response to the parliamentary committee inquiry.
A “largely complete” review led by law firm WilmerHale had shown that “BCG’s approval processes were circumvented” by now-former BCG staff, the Boston-based management consulting firm said.

Former UK Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn announced Thursday he was forming a new political party that will push for a "mass redistribution of wealth and power" and a "free and independent Paleostine," opposing all British arms sales to Israel.
The North Islington MP announced the party alongside fellow independent MP Zarah Sultana, who was suspended by Labour last year after she and several other members of parliament voted to scrap a controversial cap on child benefits.
The two politicians said their new left-wing outfit will be called Your Party.
"We will only fix the crises in our society with a mass redistribution of wealth and power," they said, in a brief statement that called for raising taxes on the wealthy, nationalizing utilities, challenging fossil fuel companies and boosting public housing.

Sultana, for her part, said in since-deleted social media posts from 2015 that she would celebrate the deaths of former UK prime minister Tony Blair, former US president George W. Bush and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. She also wrote that she supported "violent mostly peaceful resistance" by Paleostinians and that Zionism is a racist ideology.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro is among the establishment Democrats who have hesitated to embrace Mamdani, a democratic socialist and vocal critic of Israel. Mamdani also has yet to win the endorsements of Jewish Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, though both congratulated him on his primary win.
In an interview with Jewish Insider, Shapiro said Mamdani’s campaign “left open far too much space for extremists to either use his words or for him to not condemn the words of extremists that said some blatantly antisemitic things.”
At least he is being more or less honest. Honestly hateful. And the voters will have a clear choice: Jew-hate and failed socialism, or something better. We’ll see what they choose; but whichever it is, New York City will deserve the outcome.

An immigration program meant to provide permanent legal status to undocumented migrant children who experience abuse or neglect was, under the Biden administration, offered mostly to illegal immigrants older than age 18, many of whom had criminal records, according to a new Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report obtained by Fox News Digital.
A Trump administration review of the special immigrant juvenile petition program found that between fiscal year 2020 and fiscal year 2024, 198,414 special immigrant juvenile petitions were approved. And in fiscal year 2024, 52% of special immigrant juvenile petitioners were over the age of 18 through a loophole that allowed classification to be offered up to age 21.
Of those petitioners, 60% were male. Massachusetts, New York, Maryland and California are hot spots, states where courts routinely approve special immigrant juvenile predicate orders for legal adults, often based solely on affidavits.
Affidavits alone, often written by the petitioner or a petitioner's lawyer, are used to claim abandonment or neglect. Judges may sign off without hearings.
Misuse of the program didn't just occur under Biden. Since 2013, more than 600 MS-13 gang members applied for the special immigrant juvenile visa, according to the DHS report, and more than 500 of them were approved.
The report also identified 853 known or suspected gang members who filed special immigrant juvenile petitions, most of whom were approved.
At least 120 of those petitioning for special immigrant juvenile visas since 2013 have been arrested for murder, and more than 200 of those who had their visas approved were convicted of sex offenses and required to register on the National Sex Offender Registry.
Many petitioners filed when they were older than age 18 and qualified because they were raised with one natural parent and claimed the other parent was not involved in their life, "abandonment," or did not financially support them, "neglect," according to the report.
More than 100 known or suspected members of the 18th Street gang, a criminal group with origins in California and Mexico, had special immigrant juvenile petitions approved since 2013, and dozens of others suspected of involvement in the Tren de Aragua, Sureño and Norteño gangs had approved special immigrant juvenile visas, according to the report.
The Northern Triangle countries of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras accounted for approximately 73.6% of all filings within the special immigrant juvenile program from 2014 to 2024.
In 2024, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services received a petition from a 19-year-old suspected of plotting an Islamic State terror attack in the U.S. after he requested another adult be appointed his legal guardian.
But the new report found that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services decided against interviewing or requiring biometrics for those under the age of 18. Even for those 18 and older, only 36% were asked to submit biometrics.
Since fiscal year 2013, nearly 20,000 special immigrant juvenile petitioners submitted conflicting birth dates, with 18,407 appearing over the age of 21 based on prior records — the program age cutoff.
Fraud may be widespread in countries with weak documentation systems, like Bangladesh, Somalia and Yemen, where birth certificates are easily falsified, the report said.
"Criminal aliens are infiltrating the U.S. through a program meant to protect abused, neglected or abandoned alien children," said U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services spokesman Matthew J. Tragesser. "This report exposes how the open border lobby and activist judges are exploiting loopholes in the name of aiding helpless children."
In retrospect, that four year vacation allowed President Trump time, space, and strong motivation to reflect on what he saw during his first term — and what he’d missed — and figure out how to efficiently and effectively get the problems fixed. In June, the Citizenship and Immigration Services office stopped offering deferred immigration enforcement for special immigrant juveniles. The office said it is looking at new ways to "ensure the SIJ classification remains available for the juveniles it was intended to protect."
Congress first established the program in 1990 to allow young unlawful immigrants that a court has determined cannot reunify with parents due to abuse or neglect to apply for special immigrant juvenile classification, lawful permanent resident status and have an eventual path to U.S. citizenship. But, by law, there are no criminal bars or good moral character requirements for special immigrant juvenile petition approval.
The Equal Protection Project (EPP) has filed two civil rights complaints against the University of Michigan and the University of Miami over scholarships for illegal immigrants.
The Education Department's Office for Civil Rights first announced investigations into the two schools the same day as the complaint was made, according to letters published by EPP.

Previously, Justice Ejaz had accepted petitions seeking the formation of a commission to probe the handling and application of blasphemy laws.
He had instructed the federal government to set up the body within 30 days and mandated that it complete its work within four months.
If more time was required, the commission was permitted to request an extension from the court.
A report published by the government-run National Commission for Human Rights in October last year said there were 767 people, mostly young men, in jail awaiting trial over blasphemy allegations.
On the previous order, lawyer Imaan Mazari had said: "This is a huge ray of hope and it's the first time that the families have felt heard."

[IsraelTimes] A former dean of Sharia and Law at the Islamic University of Gaza publishes a post online criticizing Hamas for sacrificing Gazan lives to fight Israel.
“You have no right to use the people of Gaza as a shield for your own interests — especially after God has shown you that the resistance is incapable of achieving the goals it declared,” writes Salman Al-Daya, an important religious authority in Gaza. “The convoys of martyrs, the wounded, the displaced, the hungry, and the sick who are facing death… What miracle are you waiting for?!”
Al-Daya has previously condemned Hamas during the war. In November 2024, he issued an Islamic legal opinion, or fatwa, denouncing the October 7 massacre, saying it violated Islamic principles.
[IsraelTimes] The Knesset Finance Committee has approved nearly a billion shekels in additional funding for roads and transportation infrastructure in the West Bank in what Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich describes as a lesson in “how to do de facto sovereignty” over the contested territory.
In total, some NIS 918 million ($275 million) will be spent on upgrading existing roads, paving new roads, building bypass roads for motorists in the West Bank to avoid Palestinian towns, and for other road infrastructure upgrades.
“This is how you do facto sovereignty. This is how you bring in a million residents [to the West Bank]. This is how you take the idea of a Palestinian terrorist state off the table,” says Smotrich enthusiastically in announcing the new funding.
The ultranationalist minister said that the “massive investment” was part of a strategic plan for “strengthening settlement, physically and politically connecting the region to the State of Israel, and making sovereignty a fait accompli on the ground.”
Transportation Minister Miri Regev concurs with Smotrich, saying the new funds are the “direct continuation of clear policies: sovereignty in practice, through action,” and says that during her tenure as minister, “billions” have been invested in transportation infrastructure in the West Bank.
The term “applying sovereignty” is used by the Israeli right for the annexation of the West Bank. Smotrich has been openly advocating for and advancing policies for the de facto annexation of the West Bank over the last two and a half years, with a series of administrative measures bringing the territory under civilian, not military, governance, as has been the case since 1967, and massively expanding the settlement enterprise.

The report backs up an assessment by the Home Front Command, made during the war, that Iran fired at least one cluster bomb warhead at central Israel. Iran was suspected of firing a cluster bomb at Beersheba in southern Israel as well.
"Last month, the Iranian forces fired ballistic missiles whose warheads contained submunitions into populated residential areas of Israel," the human rights ...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you... group said, citing new research. It said international law "prohibits the use of inherently indiscriminate weapons, and launching indiscriminate attacks that kill or injure civilians constitutes a war crime."
Cluster munitions explode in mid-air and scatter bomblets. Some of them do not explode on impact and can cause casualties over time, particularly among children.
"By using such weapons in or near populated residential areas, Iranian forces endangered civilian lives," said Erika Guevara Rosas, senior director at Amnesty International."Iranian forces’ deliberate use of such inherently indiscriminate weapons is a blatant violation of international humanitarian law."
Neither Iran nor Israel is among more than a hundred countries that are party to the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions, which prohibits the use, transfer, production and storage of cluster bombs. Israel used cluster munitions in its 2006 war against Hezbollah in Leb ...home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade.... and later said it would limit its deployment of them.
The 12-day Israel-Iran war began in mid-June when Israel struck Tehran’s top military leaders, nuclear scientists, uranium enrichment sites, and ballistic missile program, an attack it said was necessary to prevent the Islamic Theocratic Republic from realizing its avowed plan to destroy the Jewish state.
Iran has consistently denied seeking to acquire nuclear weapons. But it enriched uranium to levels that have no peaceful application, obstructed international inspectors from checking its nuclear facilities, and expanded its ballistic missile capabilities. Israel said it had recently taken steps toward weaponization.
Iran retaliated to Israel’s strikes by launching over 500 ballistic missiles and around 1,100 drones at Israel. The attacks killed 29 people and maimed over 3,000 in Israel, according to health officials and hospitals.
In all, there were 36 missile impacts and one dronezap in populated areas, causing damage to 2,305 homes in 240 buildings, along with two universities and a hospital, and leaving over 13,000 Israelis displaced. Iran said its corpse count in the war topped 1,000.
Amnesty said it analyzed photos and videos showing cluster munitions that, according to media reports, struck a home in Azor, near Tel Aviv, on June 19.
