'Coward' facing charges, accused of targeting federal agents with fiery attack at Los Angeles hotel
[FoxNews] DHS official blames 'dangerous rhetoric by sanctuary politicians' for 500% increase in ICE officer assaults

A career criminal accused of throwing a Molotov cocktail at a Los Angeles hotel where federal agents were staying last week during immigration enforcement operations has been charged.

Eric Anthony Rodriguez, 39, is charged with the charged with the federal equivalent of having a bomb or explosive device, according to court documents.

Rodriguez hurled the Molotov cocktail on June 21 at a hotel near Los Angeles International Airport, where 15 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and 12 Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents were staying, the Justice Department said.

"This coward threw a Molotov cocktail at a hotel in Los Angeles where 27 DHS law enforcement officers were staying," said Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. "Thankfully, the attack was unsuccessful, and no one was injured."

The device fell into some bushes and was extinguished by a hotel employee. The Los Angeles Police Department was called to investigate the incident and quickly zeroed in on Rodriguez after obtaining surveillance footage from nearby businesses.

He was arrested hours later after he was found asleep near a gas station one block away from the hotel, authorities said.

McLaughlin blamed the incident, and others in which law enforcement personnel have been assaulted, on sanctuary city politicians who have blamed the Trump administration for targeting illegal immigrants, even those with criminal records, for deportation.

"Dangerous rhetoric by sanctuary politicians has fanned the flames of violence against federal law enforcement—and it has led to a 500% increase in assaults against ICE," she said. "Secretary Noem has been perfectly clear: Anyone who threatens the lives of federal officers will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law—and that is exactly what will happen to Rodriguez."

The charges against Rodriguez mark the third case of a federal ‘bomb/ or explosive’ charge against a person for throwing a Molotov cocktail in relation to the Los Angeles riots that occurred earlier this month in opposition to immigration enforcement operations.

Rodriguez has a lengthy criminal history, with previous convictions for assault with a deadly weapon, second-degree robbery, falsifying checks, theft and vandalism. He also had an outstanding felony warrant for violating parole.

He was most recently convicted of first-degree robbery in March 2024 and was sentenced to two years in prison.

NISA and International Partners Conduct Major Raid in Aadan Yabaal
[ShabelleMedia] Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), in coordination with international allies, carried out a large-scale raid Thursday on a house in the Howlwadaag neighborhood of Aadan Yabaal district targeting big shots of the Death Eater group al-Shabaab
... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa...
According to security sources, intelligence gathered prior to the operation indicated the location was being used as a meeting point and weapons depot for al-Shabaab commanders. The raid aimed to disrupt planned attacks and weaken the group’s command structure in the area.

During the operation, a fierce fire broke out at the site, accompanied by heavy explosions audible across the district. Officials believe the turbans were storing explosives and heavy weaponry inside the house, which ignited during the assault.

Preliminary reports indicate multiple high-ranking al-Shabaab members were killed or captured, though exact numbers have not been confirmed. Security forces have launched follow-up investigations to assess the full scope of the damage and to collect further intelligence.

A source stated the raid is part of intensified efforts to dismantle al-Shabaab’s operational capabilities and restore stability in regions under Death Eater influence. The agency vowed to continue coordinated operations with international partners to eliminate the threat posed by al-Shabaab.

Local residents reported hearing the earth-shattering kabooms and feeling tremors during the raid, expressing relief at the operation but concern over potential retaliatory attacks. Authorities have increased security presence in Aadan Yabaal and neighboring areas as a precaution.

Britain
UK police arrests 4 anti-Israel activists over break-in, vandalism at air force base
[IsraelTimes] Suspects accused of preparing or assisting terrorist acts, with a maximum sentence of life in jail, after 2 members of group set to be banned by UK government damaged pair of planes

British counterterrorism police have arrested four people in connection with a pro-Paleostinian, anti-Israel protest last week in which military planes were sprayed with paint at an air base in England, authorities said on Friday.

A woman, 29, and two men aged 36 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism, while another woman, 41, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, the police statement said.

Two activists from the Paleostine Action group broke into the air base in Oxfordshire in central England on June 20, spraying red paint over two planes used for refuelling and transport, and further damaging them with crowbars, an act that was condemned by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer as "disgraceful."

Within days of the incident, UK Interior Minister Yvette Cooper set out plans to use anti-terrorism laws to ban Paleostine Action, saying its actions had become more aggressive and caused millions of pounds of damage.

Paleostine Action has regularly targeted British sites connected to Israeli defense firm Elbit Systems and other companies in Britannia linked to Israel since the start of the conflict in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
In response to Friday’s arrests, the campaign group accused authorities of "cracking down on non-violent mostly peaceful protests which disrupt the flow of arms to Israel during its genocide in Paleostine."

The maximum sentence for the preparation of terrorist acts, or to assist others in such preparation, in Britannia is a life sentence. The UK government is also reviewing security across all defense sites.

Sinaloa cartel hacker turned Mexico City cameras against FBI, leading to killings, DOJ says
[FoxNews] Hacker obtained federal agent's phone records and accessed Mexico City's surveillance system, a Justice Department report states.

A hacker working for the Sinaloa Cartel in Mexico was able to obtain an FBI official's phone record information in 2018 and used Mexico City's surveillance camera system to track and kill informants and witnesses, the Justice Department said in a report.
For seven years? That’s not good, but at least they finally noticed, whether or not they caught the miscreant.
The 2018 incident was disclosed in the Justice Department Inspector General's audit of the FBI's efforts to "Mitigate the Effects of Ubiquitous Technical Surveillance."

The report said the FBI was working on the case of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, the former leader of the infamous cartel who was extradited to the United States in 2017, when someone tipped the FBI that the drug-trafficking organization hired a hacker "who offered a menu of services related to exploiting mobile phones and other electronic devices."

The hacker was able to identify an FBI assistant legal attaché (ALAT) at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City and was able to use the attaché's phone number "to obtain calls made and received, as well as geolocation data."

"According to the FBI, in addition to compromising the ALAT's phone, the hacker also accessed Mexico City's camera system, used the cameras to follow the ALAT through the city, and identified people the ALAT met with," the report states. "According to the case agent, the cartel used that information to intimidate and/or kill potential sources or cooperating witnesses."

The hacker and victims were not identified in the report. Fox News Digital has reached out to the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City, the State Department, the FBI and Justice Department.

The report noted that advances in technology have "made it easier than ever for less-sophisticated nations and criminal enterprises to identify and exploit vulnerabilities" created by UTS, a term used to describe the widespread collection and storage od data and analysis often from everyday technologies like smartphones, computers and even vehicles.

Kabardino-Balkaria resident arrested in militant financing case
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] Transactions by a resident of Kabardino-Balkaria in 2020 became the reason for initiating a criminal case on financing terrorism; the man is in pre-trial detention.

A criminal case against a 44-year-old resident of Nalchik was opened based on materials from the republican FSB department.

According to the investigation, in 2020, the man made several money transfers through a banking application, transferring money to the accounts of alleged “organizers of a channel for financing terrorist activities and members of an international terrorist organization.”

Investigators believe that he made these transfers intentionally "with the aim of facilitating terrorist activity," according to a statement on the website of the republic's Investigative Committee.

The suspect was given a preventive measure in the form of detention, the department noted. The article on financing terrorist activity (part 1.1 of article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia) provides for eight to 15 years of imprisonment.

The "Caucasian Knot" does not yet have any comments from the suspect or his lawyer regarding the investigation's version.

FSB Detains Member of Terrorist Organization in Tatarstan
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Officers of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia detained a woman in Tatarstan on suspicion of participating in an international terrorist organization banned in Russia. This was reported on June 27 by the FSB Public Relations Center (PRC).

“It was established that illegal propaganda meetings were held at the address where the detainee lived, the main purpose of which was to spread the ideas of radical Islam among the republic’s Muslims, as well as to promote the principles of a terrorist organization,” the Center for Public Opinion said in a statement.

FSB officers found out that at the meetings, participants studied banned extremist literature. In addition, members of the organization accepted reports on the work done to recruit new members, and also carried out the recruitment itself.

In Moscow in May, a man who had recently received Russian citizenship was arrested for attempting to join the ranks of the Islamic State (IS, a terrorist organization banned in Russia). The investigation petitioned for the arrest of the suspect, since while at large, the man could maintain and coordinate communications with other IS members. He was sent to a pretrial detention center.

Pro-Palestinian Activists Wreck Belgian Arms Factory Supplying Ukraine
Why Ukraine? That makes no sense. What does a Belgian company supplying Ukraine have to do with Palestine or Israel?
[United24Media] Around 150 pro-Palestinian activists stormed the premises of OIP Land Systems, a Belgian defense company that refurbishes military vehicles for Ukraine, causing over $1 million in damage, according to company CEO Freddy Versluys, Belgian media outlet 7sur7 reported on June 24.

The incident, which occurred in the morning on June 23, is expected to delay upcoming armored vehicle deliveries to Ukraine by at least a month.

The activists, dressed in white suits with their faces covered, broke into the factory’s warehouses in Tournai as part of the “Stop Arming Israel” campaign, which calls for a military embargo on Israel and demands sanctions by the Belgian government.

“They ransacked our offices, destroyed computers, and then headed to the workshops, where they severely damaged several vehicles,” said Versluys. “They went on a rampage with spray paint and hammers.”

Versluys emphasized that the damaged vehicles were not intended for Israel but were part of a shipment to Ukraine.

“We no longer sell anything to Israel. …vandalized vehicles meant to defend Ukraine. Their action will delay our next delivery by at least a month.”

The activists targeted OIP Land Systems due to its ownership by Elbit Systems, a major Israeli defense contractor.
Ah. So the objection is that they are Israeli. The Ukraine thing is happenstance. Throw the book at them for forceful entry and destruction… or give the guys on the line axe handles and let them have a bit of fun on their unexpected break.
Protesters claim Elbit supplies 85% of drones and most ground-based weaponry to the Israeli military. However, Versluys insisted OIP has not delivered any defense systems to Israel for over 20 years and operates completely independently.

OIP has played a key role in supplying Ukraine’s military since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, delivering around 260 refurbished armored vehicles to date.

Police from the Tournai region were deployed to the scene, supported by anti-riot units from the Borinage area and a federal police helicopter. Some activists fled into neighboring villages but were pursued by law enforcement. According to the activist group Stop Arming Israel, at least 30 people were arrested.

Versluys announced that the company would be filing a formal complaint against unidentified perpetrators.
Update from the Jerusalem Post at 4:15 p.m. EDT, courtesy of Skidmark:
Anti-Israel activists vandalized and damaged the headquarters of two Belgian companies on Monday, which they claimed were arming Israel; however, a CEO claimed they were supplying tanks to Ukraine, according to Belgian media.

Activists from "Stop Arming Israel" targeted OIP in Tournai and Syensqo in Haren. Organizers claim they are enforcing "the military embargo against Israel imposed by Belgium in 2009," as well as demanding "sanctions against Israel, including the cancellation of the EU-Israel Association Agreement."

At around 5 a.m. in Tournai, about 100 masked activists entered the building and began vandalizing and destroying office space and computers, as well as damaging tanks intended for Ukraine.

About two hours later, at around 8 a.m., activists blocked access to the Syensqo headquarters and sprayed paint on the building. Police were called to remove activists who had chained bikes together to block access to the site. The activists accuse Syensqo of supplying parts for Israeli drones.

SUPPLYING UKRAINE WITH TANKS
OIP is a subsidiary of Elbit Systems, one of the largest Israeli arms manufacturers; however, the CEO, Freddy Versluys, told Belga News Agency that despite being owned by an Israeli company, OIP had not manufactured defense systems for Israel in the past 20 years and that they did not have the licenses to export anything to Israel.
He emphasized that the OIP site in Tournai was exclusively focused on supplying Ukraine, and since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, they had supplied Ukraine with around 260 armored vehicles.

Versluys estimated that the activists had caused nearly €1 million in damages and set production back by at least a month.

Theo Francken, Defense and Foreign Trade Minister, condemned the group as "an extreme left-wing militia," saying the OIP was supporting Ukraine with military equipment. "If this were an extreme right-wing militia, the country would be in an uproar."

Conway, SC teen who supported ISIS now charged with acts of terrorism, SLED says
[POSTANDCOURIER] A Conway teen who supported the terrorist group ISIS was arrested this month and charged with acts of terrorism after he obtained information about how to make bombs and expressed his intent to carry out an attack in South Carolina, according to arrest records.

The State Law Enforcement Division on June 9 charged Daniel Fox Fischer, 17, with threatening or conspiring to threaten real or personal property using a destructive device and possessing or using a weapon of mass destruction for an act of terrorism, according to a news release from SLED.

Between April and August of last year, Fischer expressed interest in joining a terrorist organization, threatened to cause harm with an bomb and obtained instructional videos about making explosives, according to an arrest warrant.

Fischer also obtained information about radio-controlled bombs and details for making the kaboom C4, records state.

Authorities found images of Fischer expressing his support for ISIS while wearing what looked like an explosive vest, according to a warrant. A witness and electronic records indicate Fischer intended to attack targets in South Carolina, the warrant stated.

The warrants don't reveal any details about those targets.

Fischer also conspired with foreign and domestic individuals in his efforts, according to the warrants. Records say Sherlocks recovered terrorist training materials and electronic communications supporting terrorism.

Fischer was booked into the juvenile facility of the J. Reuben Long Detention Center near Conway. He remains incarcerated and his bail has not been set, according to online jail records. The 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office is prosecuting the case.
WMBF News has a booking photo of the young Horry County miscreant, looking sullen under an unruly mop of dark, curly hair, and informs us that:
The documents add that confidential source information from a reliable witness and digital records showed that Fischer intended to use the bombs against targets within South Carolina.

The Conway Police Department originally requested the SLED investigation.
Akhtar and Fischer’s arrests marked the fifth and sixth individuals arrested for terrorism and their involvement with the Islamic State this year.

#1  ...SLED does not mess around. Trust me on this.

They are a completely independent agency, answerable only to the Governor. They were founded by Strom Thurmond when he was Governor because so many little towns (and more than a few bigger ones) couldn't be trusted to investigate their own people. With that in mind it's interesting that they were the lead agency on this instead of the FBI, but it's all good - this lad is going away for a long, long while.

Iraq
Iraqi army details anti-ISIS operation in Kirkuk
[Rudaw] A prior operation by Iraqi counterterrorism forces in Kirkuk led to the killing of two suspected Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) operatives, including a leader in the province, the Iraqi army said on Thursday.

The Wednesday ambush in southwest Kirkuk’s Riyadh district killed two ISIS suspects in the Zghitun Valley, an area infamous for ISIS activity but recently declared devoid of jihadist cells by the army.

"One of the bully boyz was the so-called ’governor of Riyadh,’ and the other the ’soldier of Riyadh.’ The force carrying out the duty succeeded in seizing their weapons, equipment, technical materials, devices, and criminal evidence," the army’s Security Media Cell said in a statement.

It labeled the targets as "important elements" of ISIS, adding that the operation involved thorough intelligence-gathering for four consecutive days before it was executed.

Zghitun Valley, located east of Hawija district — another former ISIS stronghold — was declared emptied of ISIS cells by the Iraqi army on June 10.

ISIS rose to power and seized swathes of Iraqi and Syrian land in a brazen offensive in 2014, declaring a so-called "caliphate."

While the group was declared territorially defeated in Iraq and Syria in 2017 and 2019 respectively, it still continues to pose serious security risks through hit-and-run attacks, bombings, and abductions, especially across the vast expanses of the Syrian desert and several Iraqi provinces situated in a security vacuum between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region.

Kirkuk province in particular has been a hotspot for ISIS activity, lying in a security vacuum exploited by murderous Moslems to launch attacks on both civilians and members of the security forces.

Despite the threats, Iraqi authorities stress that attacks by ISIS have largely simmered down.

Earlier this month, the US military said that an ISIS leader was arrested and two operatives killed in numerous partnered operations with Iraqi forces.

was likely intercepted by air defenses a short while ago, the military says.

The IDF says attempts were made to shoot down the missile, and they were apparently successful.

There are no reports of injuries or impacts.

Sirens had sounded in Beersheba, Dimona, Arad, and the surrounding area in southern Israel. Preceding the sirens by four minutes, an early warning was issued to residents, alerting civilians of the long-range missile attack via a push notification on their phones.

#1  The mere fact that they shot that missile is a deterrent to navigation.

They are inflicting billions of $$$ of damage to the world economy spending a pittance.

Also Iran's asymmetrical terror and proxy war is apparently not restricted by the cease fire.

Iran itself meanwhile is a sanctuary protected by the same de facto US guaranteed cease fire.

Iran has been mauled but otherwise Iran's strategic posture has improved.

The POTUS explictly ordering Israel not to strike Iran set a precedent, and not a good one.

Thousands attend first in-person rally for Gaza hostage deal since Iran ceasefire UPDATE: Report Trump demanded end Gaza war, back Paleo state untrue
So repetitive. Sooooo boring. So very, very stupid and self-destructive.
[IsraelTimes] Demonstration urging end to war highlights plight of mothers of soldiers fighting in Gaza; hostages’ families reportedly pushing for meeting with Trump next week

Thousands of protesters gathered at Tel Aviv’s Rabin Square on Thursday to demand a ceasefire and hostage deal in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, the first such demonstration since a truce ended 12 days of war between Israel and Iran.

One of the organizing groups of the protest was Ima Era (Wide-awake mother), which brings together mothers of soldiers. The group’s name alludes to mothers’ difficulty sleeping knowing their children could be killed at war — a fear that speakers say is foreign to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and many of his ministers.

After the speeches, protesters marched to the Begin Road entrance to IDF Headquarters to continue the demonstration there. Many of the protesters held small battery-powered toy candles. Backing up the march was a mock funeral procession with eight faux coffins.

Police arrested at least four anti-government protesters on Begin Road, according to a lawyer group offering pro bono services to people detained at anti-government demonstrations.

The Haaretz daily reported that protesters were detained for blocking traffic on Namir Road, a major route that feeds into Begin.

The families of hostages held in Gaza are working with senior US government officials to organize a meeting with US President Donald Trump

, and also the Israeli government to choose a comprehensive deal, despite opposition from [hard-right Finance Minister] Bezalel Smotrich and [National Security Minister] Itamar Ben Gvir," families told Channel 12.
Bibi Netanyahu has his own opinions, as he’s made very clear.
The apparent push to meet Trump came amid several media reports that said the US President was pushing Netanyahu to conclude the war against Hamas following the success of the 12-day war against Iran.
The same media that reported that Bibi and The Donald were feuding? It’ll be very interesting to see how much of what was reported in recent weeks turns out to have been a deliberate ruse to fool Iran...
Kan news reported that Trump’s call on Thursday to cancel Netanyahu’s criminal trial was also linked to this effort.

According to Israel Hayom, as part of the American president’s plan to end the war, new countries would join the Abraham Accords, and Israel would be required to commit to supporting a future Paleostinian state.
Required??
Citing an unnamed source familiar with a phone call between Netanyahu and Trump, the newspaper reported that during the call, the two leaders agreed to wrap up the war in Gaza within two weeks, requiring Israel to halt its military offensive and Hamas to release the remaining 50 hostages.

The Paleostinian terror group’s leadership would then be exiled, and four Arab states, including the UAE and Egypt, would be tasked with jointly governing the war-torn enclave in its place, the report said. It did not identify the other two Arab states that would supposedly help govern the territory.

As part of the rehabilitation of the Strip, any Gazooks wishing to emigrate would be absorbed by several unnamed countries, Israel Hayom said.

Arab states have repeatedly asserted that they will not take part in the postwar rehabilitation of Gaza absent Israeli acquiescence to the Paleostinian Authority gaining a foothold in the Strip as part of a pathway to a future two-state solution, a demand that, until now, Netanyahu has flatly rejected.

Moreover, Hamas’s leaders have also long rejected demands to go into exile.

As part of the plan, Trump and Netanyahu were said to have agreed that Israel would be required to express support for a future two-state solution, conditioned on reforms made by the Paleostinian Authority. In exchange, Washington would recognize Israeli illusory sovereignty in some parts of the West Bank.

With the end of the war in Gaza and a renewed Israeli commitment to a future two-state solution, both Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula, largely made up of sand and oil rigs. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual haj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Formerly dictatorial and steeped in Olde Tyme Religion, deferring to Salafist holy men on all issues, it has now done a 180 and is making a serious effort to modernize, so as not to be left in the sand by its Gulf Arab neighbors. The holy men have been shoved to the background and the nation is now still dictatorial but somewhat rational. That doesn't make them trustworthy, but it's a start...
and Syria would establish ties with Israel under the Abraham Accords, the report stated, and other Arab and Moslem countries would follow suit.

Saudi Arabia has long conditioned the establishment of diplomatic ties on Israel’s commitment to Paleostinian statehood, while the possibility of peace with Syria has been raised repeatedly in recent months as the two countries are reportedly in direct contact following the fall of the Assad regime last year.

But even amid the renewed push to bring an end to the war, Kan reported that no progress had been made in Cairo, where Paleostinian American political activist Bishara Bahbah has been in talks with senior Hamas official Ghazi Hamad about a US ceasefire proposal.

A security official with knowledge of the details of talks told Channel 12 on Thursday that associates of Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya were pushing him to reach a deal.

"They are telling him, ’You have no support and no sponsors. You have to begin to move, you have no one to lean on,'" the official said.

Update at 4:50p.m. EDT:
PM denies reported plan to end Gaza war while backing Palestinian state

[IsraelTimes] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denies that he agreed to a White House vision that would end the war in Gaza, expand the Abraham Accords and see Israel commit to supporting a future Palestinian state.

“The conversation that’s described in the article in Israel Hayom did not take place,” says the Prime Minister’s Office in a statement.

“Israel was not presented with the political proposal supposedly described in the article, and it obviously did not agree to it.”

The Israel Hayom newspaper reported yesterday that as part of US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war, new countries would join the Abraham Accords, and Israel would be required to commit to supporting a future Palestinian state.

According to the outlet, Trump brought up the matter of ending the war during a “euphoric” phone call with Netanyahu late on Monday, following the US’s weekend strikes on Iran’s underground nuclear facilities.

Citing an unnamed source familiar with the conversation, the newspaper reported that during the phone call, the two leaders agreed to wrap up the war in Gaza within two weeks, requiring Israel to halt its military offensive and Hamas to release the remaining 50 hostages.

tunnel in Beit Hanoun used in a deadly attack on troops during the 2014 Gaza War was recently demolished, the military said Friday. In the incident on July 21, 2014, a cell of Hamas operatives emerged from a tunnel and exchanged fire with troops, killing Lt. Col. Dolev Keidar, 2nd Lt. Yuval Haiman, Warrant Officer Baynesain Kasahun, and Sgt. First Class Nadav Goldmacher. The tunnel, which the military said was a kilometer long, was demolished recently by the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit during operations of the Kfir Brigade’s Netzah Yehuda Battalion in the Beit Hanoun area.

media outlets in Gaza reported that a confrontation broke out Thursday between Hamas operatives and armed members of the influential Barbakh family clan at Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis. Footage shared on social media captured sounds of gunfire during the confrontation, and burned vehicles and damaged equipment could be seen in the vicinity of the hospital. There were no known casualties as a result of the clash.

The Hamas-run interior ministry said that "armed individuals operating outside of the law" entered Nasser Hospital, fired weapons inside the facility, set fire to ambulances, and destroyed equipment. Hamas police forces reportedly clashed with the button men, expelled them from the hospital, and arrested several of them.

Anti-Hamas media outlets in Gaza reported a different version of events, however, saying that members of Hamas’s Sahm Unit — a unit tasked with enforcing order and pursuing those accused of theft or collaboration with Israel — killed a member of the Barbakh family and then fled to Nasser Hospital. According to those reports, armed members of the Barbakh clan pursued them, resulting in the confrontation. The reports further claimed that Hamas forces used ambulances and fired toward homes belonging to the Barbakh family members.

A Telegram channel affiliated with Hamas’s Sahm Unit claimed that Hamas acted against a member of the clan involved in the theft of humanitarian aid entering Gaza. The post did not specify the fate of that individual.

Additionally, the Doctors Without Borders (MSF) charity called Friday for a controversial Israel- and US-backed relief effort in Gaza to be halted, saying it was "slaughter masquerading as humanitarian aid."

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, launched last month, "is degrading Paleostinians by design, forcing them to choose between starvation or risking their lives for minimal supplies," MSF said in a statement, demanding that the scheme be "immediately dismantled."

There is an acute shortage of food and other basic supplies after the nearly two-year military campaign by Israel that has displaced most of Gaza’s 2.3 million inhabitants, as Hamas continues to hold 50 Israelis hostage. GHF argues that its model is more effective than the United Nations

’ methods, asserting that its aid convoys have not been looted, as it has its button men who prevent such takeovers.

But the organization only operates up to four distribution sites across the Strip, none of which are in the north, and Gazooks are forced to walk long distances while crossing IDF lines to pick up the supplies. There have been near-daily mass casualty incidents in which the IDF has been accused of opening fire on Paleostinians it says strayed off approved access routes or using them at forbidden times. Some of these incidents have taken place on roads used by the UN for aid distribution and are not near GHF sites.

Hamas authorities have reported dozens of people killed in many such incidents, though those numbers have not been confirmed.

International aid trucks and warehouses storing supplies have often been looted, with Israel accusing Hamas of stealing aid for its own fighters or to sell to finance its operations, an accusation Hamas denies, while others say the looters frequently are desperate and starving Paleostinians. The UN has acknowledged that its convoys have been plagued by looting, but has blamed armed gangs rather than Hamas and has insisted that the solution is for Israel to allow much more aid into Gaza so that demand decreases.

Terror groups in the Gaza Strip are still holding 50 hostages, including 49 of the 251 kidnapped by Hamas-led snuffies on October 7, 2023. They include the bodies of at least 28 confirmed dead by the IDF. Twenty are believed to be alive and there are grave concerns for the well-being of two others, Israeli officials have said. Hamas is also holding the body of an IDF soldier killed in Gaza in 2014.

The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry says more than 56,000 people in the Strip have been killed or are presumed dead in the fighting so far, though the toll cannot be verified and does not differentiate between civilians and fighters. Israel says it has killed some 20,000 combatants in battle as of January and another 1,600 snuffies inside Israel during the October 7

IDF issues evacuation warning for Palestinians in central Gaza

[IsraelTimes] The military’s Arabic spokesperson issues an evacuation warning for residents in parts of the central Gaza Strip, after a rocket was fired from there at Israel, instructing them to head southward ahead of IDF operations in the area.

The statement says the IDF will employ intensive firepower “to destroy the capabilities of terrorist organizations in these areas, and will attack any area used for launching rockets.”

IDF hits Hezbollah targets, blames terror group rocket fire for death of woman in area
More on this story from yesterday.
[IsraelTimes] Israel says Hezbollah trying to restore operations at site near Beaufort Castle in south Lebanon

Israeli Air Force fighter jets hit a Hezbollah facility in the Beaufort Castle area in south Leb
...home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade....
on Friday, the military said. Lebanese media reported strikes in the area killed one woman, but the military said the death was caused by an errant Hezbollah rocket.

According to the IDF, the facility, used by the terror group to "manage its fire and defense array," was part of an underground Hezbollah site that was previously targeted in Israeli strikes.

"In recent days, the IDF identified attempts by the Hezbollah terror organization to restore the site, and therefore the terror infrastructure in the area was struck," the military said.

The IDF said that the "presence of this site and the attempts to reestablish it constitute a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon."

However,
a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all...
the IDF later denied carrying out a strike on Nabatieh earlier today, instead blaming a Hezbollah rocket that was launched amid the strikes on the nearby facility.

"The IDF did not target any civilian building," said the military’s Arabic-language front man Col. Avichay Adraee.

"According to the information we have, the building was hit by a rocket projectile that was stored at the site, and was launched and went kaboom! as a result of the Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
," he said.

"The Hezbollah terror organization continues to store its rocket projectiles near residential buildings and the residents of Lebanon, thereby endangering them. Hezbollah continues to endanger the residents of southern Lebanon in light of its refusal to hand over its weapons to the Lebanese state," Adraee said.

He added that "The Lebanese government bears responsibility for what is happening on its territory, in light of its failure to confiscate Hezbollah’s heavy weapons and rocket projectiles."

Additionally, a home in the southern Lebanon town of Houla, allegedly used by Hezbollah to observe Israeli forces, was demolished by IDF troops overnight Wednesday-Thursday, the military said. According to the IDF, the home belonged to Ahmad Ghazi Ali, a Hezbollah operative killed in a dronezap in Houla a week ago.

"The structure was used by the Hezbollah terror organization for military activity, including attempts to gather intelligence on IDF troops," the military said, adding that "the terrorists’ activity in the structure constituted a clear violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon."

The military said the demolition was carried out by the 769th "Hiram" Regional Brigade in a special operation.

Israel has continued to carry out targeted strikes on Hezbollah operatives and infrastructure since it signed a ceasefire with Lebanon in late November, alleging violations of the truce agreement. According to the IDF, over 180 Hezbollah operatives have been killed in that time.

Under the terms of the ceasefire, Hezbollah was required to withdraw its fighters north of the Litani River and dismantle all military infrastructure in southern Lebanon. Israel was to withdraw from Lebanon, while maintaining the right to strike threats to its security.

The IDF maintained a presence at five points near the border it said were necessary to ensure the safety of Israeli communities.

Since the ceasefire, the Lebanese state has been working methodically to dismantle Hezbollah’s infrastructure in the south of the country, and is estimated to have seized the majority of the terror group’s weapons stockpile in the same area.
Extrapolating from a Ynet report courtesy of Grom yesterday in comments, the civilian building in the Nabatieh area that went up as a result of a Hezbollah rocket launch was a cache that cooked off with noticeable secondaries.
An Nahar gives the Lebanese view of events:
A woman was killed and 20 other people were wounded Friday after Israel said it targeted Hezbollah "underground assets" in south Lebanon, despite a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.

The Israeli army said it targeted Hezbollah "underground assets" in south Lebanon as it carried out a series of violent airstrikes on Nabatieh al-Fawqa and the heights of Iqlim al-Tuffah in south Lebanon.

The airstrikes came in two waves on the mountains overlooking Nabatieh and bunker buster bombs were used, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported.

The strikes continued during the day as warplanes struck a region between the southern towns of Ansar and Zrariyeh.

A woman was killed and twenty other people were wounded as a residential building in Nabatieh al-Fawqa was hit with a missile that knocked out the building's top floor.

Israel later said it didn't bomb any building in Nabatieh and that the projectile that hit the building flew from a nearby Hezbollah depot after an Israeli strike.

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam strongly condemned the strikes, calling them a "blatant violation of national sovereignty" and a "threat to stability".

The strikes come a day after Hezbollah chief Sheikh Naim Qassem said Lebanon cannot submit to dictations nor surrender to occupation.

"This is our country, we want it dignified and we will resist for that," Qassem said Thursday.

Israel has kept up regular strikes on Lebanon, particularly in the south, since a November 27 ceasefire meant to end over a year of hostilities that left Hezbollah severely weakened. Friday’s strikes were more intense than usual.

The Israeli military said in a statement that its fighter jets struck a site used by Hezbollah to manage its fire and defense array in the area and is part of a significant underground project that was completely taken out of use.

The Israeli army said it identified rehabilitation attempts by Hezbollah beforehand and struck infrastructure sites in the area.

IDF releases footage that it says shows Hezbollah rocket caused deadly south Lebanon blast
[IsraelTimes] The IDF releases footage it says confirms that a Hezbollah rocket flew out of a facility belonging to the terror group, after it was targeted earlier today, and hit a home in southern Lebanon.

Following the Israeli strike on the Hezbollah site near Beaufort Castle, Lebanon’s health ministry reported one dead and 11 wounded in a blast that struck an apartment in Nabatieh.

“A review revealed that as a result of the strike, secondary explosions were identified, as well as the launch of a Hezbollah terror organization rocket that was stored at the site, which struck a civilian building,” the military says.

Ships in the Strait of Hormuz are hiding under Russian and Chinese flags from attacks
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Commercial vessels sailing through the Strait of Hormuz have begun to disguise themselves as flags of other countries en masse, trying to avoid attacks. This was reported on June 26 by Reuters.

According to him, during the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Iran from June 12 to 24, 55 ships sent 101 unusual messages - “Russian oil” or “Chinese property”.

Windward CEO Ami Daniel told the publication that ship owners fear that ships with ties to the US, Britain or Israel will continue to be targets, and that identifying them as Russian or Chinese could be a defense for them.

As reported by Regnum News Agency, the Iranian parliament (Majlis) on June 22 approved a decision to close the Strait of Hormuz, through which about 15-20% of the world's oil flows. However, then, on June 24, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a complete ceasefire.

Moreover, if on June 23 the price of Brent oil for delivery in August exceeded $81 per barrel, then already in the afternoon of June 24 oil prices fell below $68 per barrel. At that time, this happened for the first time since June 11.
