Bomb blast kills 2 children in Cameroon's Far North region-Xinhua
[ENGLISH.NEWS.CN] At least two children were killed in a bomb explosion early Monday in Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
's Far North region, according to locals and security sources.

The children were trekking along the Bargaram-Abasouni Road in the Logone-et-Chari division of the region when they stepped on an improvised bomb (IED), and it went kaboom!, said a security source in the region.

"The bomb was obviously planted by Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
holy warriors along that road. It is really unfortunate that the two children became victims of this attack," the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Xinhua by phone.

Locals have reported heightened tension in the locality following the blast.

Cameroon's Far North region has been the scene of festivities between security forces and Boko Haram turbans since 2014. The terror group often uses IEDs to attack soldiers and civilians.

Israeli enemy warplanes drones conduct series of airstrikes on Yemen's Hodeidah port
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Israeli enemy warplanes on Monday carried out a series of Arclight airstrike

's Hodeidah port on the Red Sea.

According to the Yemen Press Agency (YPA), there were no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage after the airstrikes.

The Israeli occupation army said the targets included ''engineering vehicles, fuel containers and naval vessels.''

The strikes came in response to recent Yemeni missile and drone attacks on Israeli targets.
The Times of Israel adds:
The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement that the Arclight airstrikes destroyed "military infrastructure of the Houthi terror regime" at the western Yemen port, after attempts were made by the Houthis to repair areas previously targeted by Israel in response to missile and drone attacks.

Monday’s sortie marked the thirteenth time that Israel has attacked Yemen, located some 1,800 kilometers away.

Unlike previous attacks, Monday’s airstrikes did not involve dozens of fighter jets, refuelers, and spy planes. Rather, it was carried out by IAF drones, military officials told The Times of Israel.
Drones? Fascinating.
It marked the first Israeli strikes on Yemen since July 7. In the interim, the Houthis have launched six ballistic missiles and at least two drones at Israel, attacks that caused no damage or injuries.

The targets in Monday’s bombardment included "engineering equipment working to restore port infrastructure, fuel tanks, and vessels used for military activity and [attacks] against the State of Israel and ships in the maritime area near the port," the military said.

Defense Minister Israel Katz said that the IDF was "forcefully enforcing any attempt to restore the previously attacked terror infrastructure."

"The IDF identified continued activity and attempts by the Houthi terror regime’s forces to restore the terror infrastructure at the port; therefore, components used to advance this activity were targeted," the military said.

Hours after the strike, a drone launched at Israel from "the east" was intercepted by the IAF, the military said, adding that no sirens sounded, "according to protocol."

The drone was likely launched from Yemen, according to preliminary IDF assessments.

The Houthis last attacked Israel on Friday night with a ballistic missile that was intercepted.

2 Israelis briefly held in Belgium after activists urge their arrest for ‘war crimes’
[IsraelTimes] Civilian and soldier, who were attending Tomorrowland festival, released after questioning; Hind Rajab Foundation says they were responsible for Gaza ‘genocide’

Two Israelis visiting Belgium for the Tomorrowland festival were detained for questioning after an activist group that seeks to have Israelis prosecuted for alleged war crimes called for their arrests, it was announced Monday.

According to the Belgian public broadcaster, the two, who were apparently seen at the dance festival waving the flag of the Israel Defense Forces’ Givati Brigade, were released after questioning.

One of the two Israelis said they were beaten by police. "The officers hit us, we got blows to the face," one of the unnamed men told Channel 12 news. "They took us to a secret cop shoppe in the compound."

The Foreign Ministry confirmed the pair’s detention in a statement, adding that the ministry and the IDF "handled the matter and are in contact with the two."

It was unclear whether the two were still in Belgium.

Belgium’s RTBF reported that the two were detained after a complaint was lodged by the Hind Rajab Foundation and Belgian federal prosecutors determined that they could have jurisdiction on the matter.

Launched in September, the Hind Rajab Foundation has used social media posts by Israeli soldiers, officers, and reservists to locate them in an attempt to have them arrested for alleged war crimes when they travel abroad.

Though the group has been largely unsuccessful in court, it has managed to win widespread media exposure, allegedly caused an Israeli cabinet minister to rethink a trip abroad, and even prompted the IDF to create new rules to better protect troops’ privacy and keep them from being victims of doxxing — the practice of publishing someone’s personal information online to expose them.

On Saturday, the foundation urged Belgian authorities to arrest two people it said were IDF soldiers responsible for "war crimes and genocide" in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. who were attending Tomorrowland.

The two individuals "are directly implicated in some of the most egregious crimes committed during Israel’s ongoing military campaign in Gaza," the organization said.

Among those crimes, it said, were indiscriminate attacks on civilian areas, the use of torture and human shields, arbitrary detention, and violations of the Genocide Convention — all charges that Israel denies.

Givati has been deployed extensively amid the ongoing war in Gaza, which began when the Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
terror group attacked Israel on October 7, 2023.

The unit has been "extensively documented for its role in the systematic destruction of civilian infrastructure in Gaza and for carrying out mass atrocities against the Paleostinian population," the Hind Rajab organization claimed.

"The Givati flag, publicly displayed in the heart of Belgium, is not just a military symbol. It has become, for millions, a symbol of impunity, destruction, and ethnic cleansing," said the organization.

Hundreds of thousands of people from around the world attend Tomorrowland’s annual music festival near the Belgian town of Boom.

The event attracts many Israeli music fans, with videos on social media showing multiple national flags in the crowd, particularly for the set by Israeli trance DJ duo Vini Vici. Yellow flags calling for the release of the hostages held in Gaza, many of whom were taken from the Nova festival on October 7, 2023, were also seen.

The European Jewish Association criticized Belgian authorities for acting on what it called a politically motivated complaint.

"These soldiers were carrying out their lawful duties in defence of their country, duties comparable to those of any soldier serving in a democratic nation," the association said in a statement.

Fifth Column
‘AOC funds genocide in Gaza’: Anti-Israel activists vandalize Ocasio-Cortez’s NY office
[IsraelTimes] Democrat defends voting against amendment to cut funding for Israeli air defenses, vows to keep pushing ‘to cut flow of US munitions that are being used to perpetuate the genocide’

Anti-Israel activists in New York on Monday said they vandalized the Bronx office of Democratic US Representative Alexandria Boom Boom Ocasio-Cortez
Dem Congressgirl from da Bronx in Noo Yawk and leader of the Mean Girl Caucus in Congress. One of the Great Minds of the 21st Century, she is known as much for her innaleck as for her dance moves. She is all in favor of socialism, even though she's fuzzy on the details. She was the inventor of the Green New Deal, though she doesn't talk about it much anymore
, one of Israel’s leading critics in Congress.

The anti-Israel protest group Decolonize This Place posts photos showing red paint, reminiscent of blood, splattered on Ocasio-Cortez’s office, and a sign that reads, "AOC funds genocide in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Decolonize This Place said the vandalism was an "anonymous submission"
…an interesting locution…
from a group called the Boogie Down Liberation Front. The group does not appear to have any protest history or online presence. Police confirmed the vandalism to the local NBC4 news outlet.

In a statement shared with news hound Ashoka Jegroo, the Boogie Down Liberation Front said, "The Bronx is sick and tired of people like AOC and Ritchie Torres using us as a stepping stone for their own political careers," referring to another Democratic representative who is a staunch supporter of Israel.

Anti-Israel protesters have repeatedly vandalized the offices of elected representatives and other perceived supporters of the Jewish state in New York.

The vandalism appeared to be a response to Ocasio-Cortez voting last week against a Congressional amendment to cut funding for Israel’s air defenses. The amendment was sponsored by US Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a far-right Georgia Republican who has previously advocated against US funding to Israel, and separately by Representative Ilhan Omar
...Somali-American Dem representative from Minnesota. She was apparently married to her brother and may be her own grandmaw on her mother's side. She is a member of The Squad, and would like to make the country look a lot more like Mogadishu...
, a Minnesota Democrat who is one of the fiercest critics of Israel in Congress.

"Marjorie Taylor Greene’s amendment does nothing to cut off offensive aid to Israel nor end the flow of US munitions being used in Gaza. Of course I voted against it," Ocasio-Cortez posted on X last week. "What it does do is cut off defensive Iron Dome capacities while allowing the actual bombs killing Paleostinians to continue."

"I have long stated that I do not believe that adding to the death count of innocent victims to this war is constructive to its end. That is a simple and clear difference of opinion that has long been established."

She also said she would "remain focused on cutting the flow of US munitions that are being used to perpetuate the genocide in Gaza."

The amendment was struck down by a vote of 422-6. In addition to Omar and Greene, Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
Al Green of Texas, Rashida Tlaib
...the very first ever Paleostinian-American ever sworn into Congress in 2019. She is a member of The Squad and consistently votes against the U.S. national interest. She's a Dem, naturally, from a safe district you wouldn't want to live in (Michigan's 12th congressional district). She wants the country to be kinda like Gaza only without any Jews for neighbors...
of Michigan and Summer Lee of Pennsylvania also supported it, as well as Thomas Massie, a Kentucky Republican who opposes all foreign aid.

The overall Department of Defense Appropriations Act passed Friday with a vote of 221-209, allocating $832 billion in defense funding for 2026.

Ocasio-Cortez is part of the "Squad" of progressive politicians that includes Omar, Tlaib and Lee and often votes with them. Her vote against the bill reignited criticism from another frequent ally, the Democratic Socialists of America, which wrote in a statement Saturday that promoting any aid to Israel is "unacceptable."

"An arms embargo means keeping all arms out of the hands of a genocidal military, no exceptions. This is why we oppose Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’[s] vote against an amendment that would have blocked $500 million in funding for the Israeli military’s Iron Dome program," the DSA said in a statement.

Last year, the DSA pulled their endorsement of Ocasio-Cortez after she hosted a panel on antisemitism that the group said "conflated anti-Zionism with antisemitism and condemned boycotting Zionist institutions."

In 2021, Ocasio-Cortez also faced backlash for another Iron Dome-related bill. After successfully lobbying for the removal of $1 billion in funding for the defensive system, in a stand-alone vote to reallocate the funding, Ocasio-Cortez voted "present" and it passed 420-9.

In a statement responding the backlash at the time, Ocasio-Cortez wrote that while she had opposed the bill, the decision by House leadership to rush the vote created a "tinderbox of vitriol, disingenuous framing, deeply racist accusations and depictions, and lack of substantive discussion on this matter."

New York anti-Israel activist charged with torching 11 police vehicles
[IsraelTimes] Officials in New York charge an anti-Israel protester, Jakhi McCray, with setting 11 NYPD vehicles on fire last month.

McCray allegedly climbed a fence to access a parking lot for police vehicles on June 12, in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn.

Once inside the lot, he ignited 10 NYPD vehicles and a trailer, the US attorney’s office for the Eastern District of New York says.

The cost to replace the vehicles is around $800,000.

McCray, 21, is charged with arson and faces a maximum sentence of 20 years.

The NYPD identified McCray as a suspect last month. NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said at the time that McCray was “very active in the protest community, involving the Free Palestine movement.”
Ah. A professional.
Kenny also said McCray damaged a statute at Columbia University during protests on the campus last year.

Anti-Israel activist groups, including at Columbia, rally behind McCray ahead of his initial court appearance this afternoon.

“The time has come to rise in solidarity for our comrade, Jackhi McCray,” says Columbia University Apartheid Divest, the campus alliance leading anti-Israel protests at the university.

…protest last September, including vandalizing a statue
More from the Times of Israel:
Court filings said that surveillance video and fingerprints found on a pair of sunglasses at the scene of the arson implicated McCray in the fires.

Ahead of his arrest, police had offered up to $30,000 for information on McCray.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said on Monday that McCray had turned himself in, accompanied by his lawyer, in Brooklyn earlier in the day. He was being held in federal custody.

“Setting police vehicles ablaze is not a form of protest — it is a federal crime. Our office will not tolerate violence or destruction that undermines law enforcement efforts to ensure public safety and will prosecute this individual to the fullest extent of the law,” said US Attorney Joseph Nocella, Jr..

Hostage protester, 73, attacked, car drives into crowd at Tel Aviv demonstration
”I couldn’t help it, y’r honor. His face cried to the Heavens for punching.”
[IsraelTimes] Bnei Brak resident arrested for suspected attack on elderly man, demonstrators say no police presence amid repeated instances of violence at protest outside military HQ

A 74-year-old protester was attacked by a motorcyclist Monday during a demonstration calling for a hostage deal, outside the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv.

Shortly afterwards, a car appeared to drive into a crowd of protesters, lightly injuring several people, according to the Haaretz news site.

The elderly demonstrator, who was transferred to Ichilov Hospital, had been blocking Begin Road alongside other protesters outside the military complex, as participants read aloud the names of the hostages still held by terror groups in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. Strip.

According to Hebrew reports, the demonstrator was repeatedly punched by the assailant, who drove off after the beating.

The maimed protester told Haaretz that he had been walking with signs between the cars on the road when the man came up to him on his cycle of violence.

"I stopped him, he told me to move, I said I wouldn’t move, he got off the scooter. I told him not to touch me. He started punching me — I didn’t understand what was happening," he recounted to the daily.

Police said in a statement that one suspect, a 21-year-old resident of the overwhelmingly ultra-Orthodox city of Bnei Brak, near Tel Aviv, has been arrested and taken for questioning.

Some five minutes after the motorcyclist’s assault, protesters told Haaretz, another driver tied to ram his car into them.
The protesters have clearly worn out their welcome. The next election should be interesting over there.
Some twenty seconds of the incident were captured on camera by the daily’s photographer, showing the car moving toward the protesters, and protesters banging on its windows and making noise around it.

“A car continued to drive into us, tried to run us over. We walked back, and it continued to drive, until we managed to bring the police here,” one demonstrator, Tina Bekenstein, told the newspaper.

There were no reports of serious injuries.

The incidents took place amid an unusual absence of police, Haaretz reported, adding that there has been a gradual limiting of police presence in recent weeks, amid demands that the demonstrators obtain a permit before gathering.

Officers reportedly arrived after the attack on the motorcyclist.

After the two incidents, police declared that the protest was illegal, and called on demonstrators to stop blocking the road.

MK Naama Lazimi, of the left-wing The Democrats party,
…the latest reincarnation of the labour socialists, if I recall correctly, named after their American supporters…
said in a statement that she reached out to the police a month ago saying protesters’ safety was being threatened.

“I warned against a trend of escalating violence against protesters, and I emphasized that the absence of police presence harms the physical security of the participants [in the protests],” she said at the time, in a letter to police chief Daniel Levy, according to the statement.

Levy has not responded to her letter, she said.

The Hostages and Missing Families Forum said in a statement that it “totally condemns the attack on protesters for the hostages in Tel Aviv.” It was not immediately clear which of the incidents the forum was responding to.

“We want to send our big thanks, from the bottom of our hearts, to all the activists for the hostages, and we remind them, and everyone, that an overwhelming majority of the nation stands with them, and their holy work,” the statement said.

“No act of violence by a few people will make us forget the simple truth — the nation is with the hostages,” it said.

Illegal demonstration - blocking one of the city's main junctions, doesn't merit police protection. The police should've been there smashing your heads.

Syria starts evacuating Bedouin families from Sweida in bid to restore calm after more than 1260 killed
[IsraelTimes] Government aims to move some 1,500 Bedouins out of city after a week of deadly clashes with Druze; officials say Damascus will also allow displaced residents to return

The Syrian government on Monday started evacuating Bedouin families trapped inside the city of Sweida, where Druze Death Eaters and Bedouin fighters have clashed for over a week in a conflict that drew Israeli military intervention last week.

The festivities between militias of the Druze religious minority and the Sunni Moslem clans killed hundreds and threatened to unravel Syria’s already fragile postwar transition. The festivities also led to a series of targeted sectarian attacks against the Druze community, followed by Dire Revenge attacks against the Bedouins.

The UN International Organization for Migration said some 128,571 people were displaced in the hostilities that started with a series of tit-for-tat kidnappings and attacks a week ago.

Israel also launched dozens of Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s in the Druze-majority Sweida province, targeting government forces who had effectively sided with the Bedouins.

Syrian state media said early Sunday that the government had coordinated with some officials in Sweida to bring in buses to evacuate some 1,500 Bedouin in the city. Syrian Interior Minister Ahmad al-Dalati told SANA that the initiative will also allow displaced civilians from Sweida to return, as the fighting has largely stopped and efforts for a complete ceasefire are ongoing.

"We have imposed a security cordon in the vicinity of Sweida to keep it secure and to stop the fighting there," al-Dalati told the Syrian state-run news agency
...and if you can't trust the state-run news agency who can you believe?...
. "This will preserve the path that will lead to reconciliation and stability in the province."

Buses filled with Bedouin families were accompanied by Syrian Arab Red Islamic Thingy vehicles and ambulances. Some families left on trucks with their belongings.

Syrian authorities did not give further details about the evacuation and how it ties into the broader agreement, following failed talks for a hostage swap deal Saturday.

Britannia-based war monitor the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that as part of the agreement, Bedouin fighters who descended on the city from other parts of Syria would have to release Druze women they were holding captive,
…that’s harsh…
and leave the province.

The Bedouin fighters had withdrawn from Sweida city Sunday, and alongside other tribesman from other parts of the country stood on the outskirts while security forces cordoned off the area. An aid convoy of some 32 Red Crescent vehicles entered the city, though a government delegation with another aid convoy was turned away.

After talks for a hostage swap fell through late Sunday, the Observatory, a pro-Syrian opposition organization of uncertain funding and resources, as well as activist groups in Sweida, reported hearing what they said were Israeli airstrikes and helicopters over villages where some skirmishes took place between the Bedouins and Druze militias.

The Israeli military said it was “not aware” of any overnight strikes in Syria.

Israel last week took military action against forces loyal to Syria’s interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa after they rolled into Sweida, sparking fears by local Druze who oppose his rule. Jerusalem said the actions were aimed at protecting the Druze and ensuring the demilitarization of southern Syria, which borders the Golan Heights.

Sharaa has tried to appeal to the Druze community while slamming the factions loyal to spiritual leader Sheikh Hikmat al-Hijri, who have been involved in the clashes. He promised to hold accountable perpetrators of targeted attacks and other violations.

The country’s Druze community largely celebrated the downfall of the Assad family that ended decades of tyrannical rule. While they had concerns about Sharaa’s de facto Islamist rule, a large number wanted to approach matters diplomatically.

Al-Hijri and his supporters, though, have taken a more confrontational approach with Sharaa, contrary to most other influential Druze figures. Critics also note al-Hijri’s previous allegiance to Assad.

And the numerous cases of sectarian attacks, which included killing Druze civilians and desecrating photos of religious notables, have made the Druze more skeptical of Sharaa and less optimistic of peaceful coexistence.

More than half of the roughly 1 million Druze worldwide live in Syria. Most of the other Druze live in Lebanon and Israel, including in the Golan Heights, which Israel captured from Syria in the 1967 Six Day War and annexed in 1981.

Death toll from south Syria violence tops 1,260, monitor says

[IsraelTimes] Sectarian violence in southern Syria killed more than 1,260 people before the implementation of a recent ceasefire, a war monitor says, offering an updated toll, as it continues to document deaths that took place prior to the truce.

The dead from the violence in Sweida province included 505 Druze fighters and 298 Druze civilians, 194 of whom were “summarily executed by defense and interior ministry personnel.”

They also included 408 government security personnel and 35 Sunni Bedouin, three of them civilians who were “summarily executed by Druze fighters.” Another 15 government troops were killed in Israeli strikes, the Observatory said.

Claim: Syrian regime forces wearing Islamic State badges carry out bloody rampage
[LegalInsurrection] “Sectarian festivities escalated in Syria’s predominantly Druze region of Sweida on Saturday, with machinegun fire and mortar shelling ringing out after days of bloodshed," Rooters reported Sunday.

"Rooters news hounds heard gunfire from inside the city of Sweida and saw shells land in nearby villages," the news agency added.

After a week of attacks by Syrian regime forces and affiliated jihadist groups on Syria’s non-Moslem Druze population, the corpse count has risen to nearly 1000. On Sunday, the London-based Telegraph reported that "Syrian regime forces wearing Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
badges [carried] out bloody rampage," based on eyewitness accounts.

The killing continues after Secretary of State Marco Rubio
...The diminutive 13-year-old Republican U.S. Senator from Florida, Secretary of State in the second Trump administration...
on Saturday urged the Syrian leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa, to rein in the regime forces and jihadist fighters, who have been killing, raping, and displacing the Druze community in the south of the country.

"The rape and slaughter of innocent people which has and is still occurring must end," Secretary Rubio wrote on X.

"If authorities in Damascus want to preserve any chance of achieving a unified, inclusive and peaceful Syria free of ISIS and of Iranian control they must help end this calamity by using their security forces to prevent ISIS and any other violent mostly peaceful jihadists from entering the area and carrying out massacres," he cautioned.
For our Arabic readers: here and at the headline link there are tweets — and then more tweets in the threads attached to those tweets. Are the men indeed ISIS or, as one of the tweets in one of the threads claims, Syrian National Army (Turkey’s proxies) from Homs? My thanks.

IDF says it killed Hezbollah operative in south Lebanon drone strike
[IsraelTimes] A Hezbollah operative was killed in an Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon’s at-Tiri earlier today, the IDF announces.

According to the military, the operative was involved in restoring Hezbollah capabilities in the Bint Jbeil area.

Since a ceasefire agreement came into effect in November, Israel has maintained a presence at five strategic points in Lebanon and frequently struck Hezbollah targets it said were violating the conditions of the ceasefire.
