[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] At least three members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) were killed and four others maimed on Tuesday, including field commanders, in bloody festivities in the city of Zinjibar of Abyan ...a governorate of Yemen. The region was a base to the Aden-Abyan Islamic Army terrorist group until it dropped the name and joined al-Qaeda. Its capital is Zinjibar. In March 2011, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula declared the governate an Islamic Emirate after seizing control of the region. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues... province, southern Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... A local source in the city said that the festivities erupted between members of the Security Belt factions, led by Mustafa Lashqam, and the Gulf City Protection Force, led by Abdul Rahman al-Faqih.
The source attributed the festivities to previous disputes following the arrest of al-Faqih's brother by Security Belt forces last November at the Arish checkpoint on charges of possessing alcohol and women.
The festivities broke out after an attempt to oust al-Faqih from command of the Gulf City residential area in Khanfar district, which led to a kaboom of tensions between the UAE-funded faction leaders, who have witnessed unprecedented internal conflicts and disputes due to their rivalry over lands in the area.
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Armed Lions of Islam loyal to the Saudi-led coalition have declared rebellion after Saudi Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula, largely made up of sand and oil rigs. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual haj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Formerly dictatorial and steeped in Olde Tyme Religion, deferring to Salafist holy men on all issues, it has now done a 180 and is making a serious effort to modernize, so as not to be left in the sand by its Gulf Arab neighbors. The holy men have been shoved to the background and the nation is now still dictatorial but somewhat rational. That doesn't make them trustworthy, but it's a start... dismissed Salafi leader Abdulrahman al-Loum from his post as commander of the ''Al-Buqa'' front near the Najran a city in southwestern Saudi Arabia near the border with Yemen. It is the capital of the province of the same name, a favored target of Houthi rocket forces because they can see it, so there's no math involved.... border.
The Saudi decision has sparked anger among al-Loum's loyal recruits, especially following the appointment of Salafi leader Raddad al-Hashimi as the new commander of the so-called ''Al-Buqa and Kitaf Axis.''
In response, the recruits have strongly rejected the decision, taking up arms to voice their opposition. They gathered from various military sites, traveling in military vehicles to the command headquarters to protest, as tensions rise between al-Loum's supporters and those loyal to al-Hashimi. This could potentially lead to an armed clash between the two factions.
Al-Hashimi called on the so-called ''military police'' to quell the rebellion and restore order, as the recruits demand al-Loum's reinstatement.
It's important to note that Saudi Arabia has recruited thousands of Salafi fighters and southern mercenaries in recent years, using them as a buffer to protect its borders from retaliatory strikes by forces loyal to Sana'a.
[GEO.TV] The Colombian navy on Wednesday announced its first seizure of an unmanned narco-submarine equipped with a Starlink antenna off its Caribbean coast.
I’d be shocked if a record of all movements of the thing, and quite possibly audio record as well were not carefully stored on a Starlink computer somewhere under Mr. Musk’s control…
The vessel was not carrying drugs, but the Colombian navy and Western security sources based in the region told AFP they believed it was a trial run of an unmanned vessel by a cocaine trafficking cartel.
"It was being tested and was empty," a naval spokesperson confirmed to AFP.
Asked if it was operated by Starlink, the spokesperson confirmed that the vessel "had that technology" but said the navy "was still studying how exactly it operated."
The discovery announced by Navy commander Admiral Juan Ricardo Rozo at a presser is one of the first reported finds in South American waters of a drone narco submarine.

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Several people were injured after a man wielding an axe attacked passengers on a busy train in Germany today.
The suspect, who has not been identified, was said to have lashed out at travellers on board the ICE 91 train to Vienna this afternoon at around 1:55pm local time.
The man, believed to be Syrian according to German newspaper Bild's sources, was alleged to have boarded with an axe and a hammer, before one brazen passenger disarmed him of one of the weapons and fought back.
Not brazen but courageous.
Passengers reportedly surrounded the suspect and pulled the emergency brake to stop the train near the village of Straßkirchen before police were able to arrest him.
According to the Bavarian Red Cross, one person suffered serious injuries, three others were 'moderately injured' and one was 'slightly injured.' The suspect was said to have been seriously injured and flown to hospital by helicopter.
The train is understood to have been carrying some 500 passengers at the time.
Police said in a statement that a man 'injured several people with dangerous objects shortly before Straßkirchen' this afternoon.
The police statement did not make clear whether the suspect was one of the four injured in the attack.
Rail operator Deutsche Bahn said it was 'appalled' by the 'violent attack' on the train, which had been travelling from Hamburg.
A Syrian migrant was arrested by police in Bavaria after several people were maimed in an axe attack on a high speed train travelling to Austria.
At least five people, including the alleged attacker, were maimed on a German international ICE high-speed train as it travelled through Bavaria on its journey to the Austrian capital city, Vienna.
German news magazine Bild states the attacker, who was armed with an axe and a hammer, was subdued by other passengers on the train before police arrived. Those who stepped in to prevent the attack continuing are reported to have wrestled a weapon away from the perpetrator and then used it against him.
A Syrian migrant suspect, identified as 20-year-old ’Mohammed A.’ has been airlifted to hospital by helicopter and is said to be the most seriously injured person treated. Beyond the suspect, four other people were maimed, three "moderately" and one with light injuries.
Some of those injured are also said to be Syrian citizens. The injured are reported by local newspaper Passauer Neue Presse to be aged between 15 and 51-years-old.
