Video of suspected 'honor killing' plot resurfaces as parents stand trial for attempted murder
[FoxNews] Washington parents face attempted murder charges in alleged 'honor killing' plot after boyfriend intervened in violent attack

The trial for a Washington father and his wife accused of trying to kill their 17-year-old daughter in October 2024 is slated to begin Monday.

Ihsan Ali, 44, and his 40-year-old wife, the victim's mother, Zahraa Ali, are charged with second-degree attempted murder, second-degree attempted kidnapping, first-degree attempted kidnapping, and second-degree domestic violence assault in Thurston County.

Additionally, Ihsan Ali is charged with fourth-degree assault and Zahraa Ali is charged with violation of a domestic violence protective order and second-degree burglary.

The parents' alleged Oct. 18, 2024, attack on their own teenage daughter may have been a possible "honor killing" attempt, according to witness accounts detailed in court documents obtained by Fox News Digital.

The victim told police that her father was "trying to force her to go to another country, which had prompted her to run away earlier in the day."

She went to her former public school, Timberline High School in Lacey County, believing she could get help from adults there, and her father, mother and sister allegedly followed her to the school, an affidavit filed on Oct. 24, 2024, states.

The 17-year-old girl said a school counselor helped her find a room at "Safe Haven," and her plan was to take a city bus from the school to get there. While waiting for the city bus, the victim's father allegedly approached her and "said she needed to go home," the affidavit states.

"He would not take no for an answer and began pulling at her shirt. She said that once she was placed into a choke hold, she was unable to breathe or speak, and then passed out," the affidavit says, adding later that the victim believes she lost consciousness several times while her father allegedly choked her.

Video footage of the attack recently obtained by The Daily Mail shows part of the fight unfolding at the public bus stop.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the Alis' attorney, Erik Kaeding, for comment.

Multiple witness accounts detailed in the affidavit say the victim's father approached and attacked the victim while the victim's 16-year-old boyfriend got between the two and tried to intervene. The victim's father allegedly punched the 16-year-old boy, who in turn began "punching Ishan [Ali] in the head to get him to let go of [the victim]."
Such courage — both moral and physical. That lad’s a keeper, young as he is.
Witnesses also described seeing the victim's eyes roll back while her father allegedly choked her, according to court documents.

The victim's boyfriend's mother later told police that she had been present once for a CPS interview with the 17-year-old victim in which she apparently stated that "her father had recently been threatening her with honor killing for refusing an arranged marriage with an older man in another country."

The victim's boyfriend told police he believed the 17-year-old victim was "going to die while her father was choking her out on the ground," the affidavit reads.

The victim also said she "thought she was going to die" and recalled her mother and sister "trying to grab hold of her" during the incident.

While the fight was underway, a bystander witness saw Ishan Ali put the girl in a chokehold "and would not let go." He intervened "and was eventually able to get the female to break away and detained Ishan for law enforcement as he was the primary aggressor," court documents read.

The boyfriend's father, Victor Barnes, previously told FOX 13 Seattle that he is glad his son "was there to save [the victim's] life" but added that he needs "more explanation about why the adults were so careless."

He told the outlet an adult should have escorted the victim to the bus stop rather than his 16-year-old son.

"High school for me is a time I’d never forget. It was probably some of the four funniest years of my life, and it’s unfortunate he would have to experience something like this in high school," said Barnes.

He further told the outlet that he had to file a restraining order against the victim's parents because they kept showing up to his family's home looking for the victim prior to the assault, FOX 13 reported.
A pack, not a herd. Oh, and send the girl’s family back to Iraq after they serve their sentence — we don’t need that nonsense around here. Including the sister, who helped her parents, not the girl.

Chinese illegals accused of plotting to scam elderly Americans out of life savings
[FoxNews] U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested two Chinese illegals accused of conning elderly Americans out of tens of thousands of dollars, authorities said Tuesday.

"It takes a real dirtbag to prey on our most vulnerable community members by attempting to swindle them out of their hard-earned savings," ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Deputy Field Office Director Joseph Freden said in a statement. "We remain committed to the arrest and removal of aliens who undermine the safety of our communities and the integrity of our laws."

The suspects, charged with separate crimes, have been identified as Jian Chen and Rihui Yan.

Chen allegedly conned a 63-year-old woman out of $42,000 and arranged to obtain nearly $100,000 more in Potsdam, New York. He found agents from Homeland Security Investigations and ICE Enforcement Removal Operations instead of the victim when he went to meet, authorities said.

Yan, whom ICE dubbed a "scam artist and illegal alien," allegedly tried to swindle an elderly Wyoming County couple for $20,000 -- their life savings.

Both are being held without bond pending removal.

"This HSI Massena investigation underscores HSI’s commitment to disrupting and dismantling transnational criminal organizations and groups intent on exploiting our vulnerable communities," said HSI Buffalo Special Agent in Charge Erin Keegan. "We will never stand idly by while bad actors – in this case, illegally present Chinese nationals – target innocent New Yorkers for their own selfish gain,"

A third Chinese suspect, Hui Chen, was arrested on similar charges in October 2024 and is in custody pending deportation, authorities said.

Border officials told Fox News last year that the fastest growing group of illegal migrants crossing the southern border was coming from China.

Since taking office in January, President Donald Trump has led a massive removal campaign targeting criminal aliens across the country.

Soros-funded Aurora DA sets violent registered pedophile free after kidnapping 11-year-old, may be recalled
[X]

The New York Post follows up:
A Democratic prosecutor in Colorado "will be recalled’’ for moving to dismiss charges against a transgender sex offender accused of trying to kidnap a boy from a schoolyard, a local pol told The Post on Monday.

The district attorney’s office in Colorado’s 18th Judicial District told Fox31 that it is planning to drop the raps against Solomon Galligan, 33, after he allegedly attempted to snatch the 11-year-old during recess at Black Forest Hills Elementary School in Aurora in April 2024.

Galligan underwent a competency evaluation after his arrest and was found "mentally incompetent," the DA’s office said.

Prosecutors said they’re now "planning to drop charges against the defendant, which is required by law when they are found mentally incompetent to stand trial."

But Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky disputed that stance and told The Post an "effort" to "recall" Democratic DA Amy Padden "is well under way and will begin this week" — and ensured that it will be successful.

"The conduct of the 18th DA over the past six months is beyond deplorable. This is simply the icing on the cake," said Jurinsky, a Republican.

"The progressive attitude will not be tolerated," she said. "While certain state laws highlight deeper issues in the state of Colorado, Amy Padden will be recalled for her part in not upholding the laws and punishing criminals."

The suspected sex fiend’s older sister, Sarah Galligan, even told 9News in April 2024 that her brother has been in and out of jail for 12 years and that it’s not safe for community or himself to be out on the streets.

She said her sibling, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder when he was 16,
…there it is. Nuts, untreated, and no impulse control…
was deemed unfit to stand trial in previous instances and wasn’t institutionalized because of a shortage of beds in mental-health centers.

"It just really sucks he had to do something so eye-catching for everybody to see he’s not well, and he’s not OK to be out and be on his own," she said at the time.

Amanda Morris, Solomon’s niece, added, "This has been like the fourth time that we’re sitting here thinking, ’How the hell did he get released? Who’s letting him out?’ "

Solomon Galligan shared the news of his gender transition in a 2011 Facebook post and later identified as a woman. That same year he was placed on the sex-offender registry after he was convicted of non-consent sexual contact.

VIDEO ‐ Tragedy: Worker Falls into Industrial Food Processor at California Burrito Factory
Of such things are urban legends made.
[Breitbart] A 19-year-old man tragically died on Sunday evening while working in the kitchen at Tina’s Burritos factory in Vernon, California.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department said it received a call about a worker being hurt at the facility, ABC 7 reported on Monday.

While the man was cleaning an industrial food processor, the machine unexpectedly activated and he began screaming for others to help him switch it off. However, employees were unable to do so, Vernon Police Department Sgt. Daniel Onopa explained, adding the young man had already passed away when they arrived at the scene.

KTLA specified the machine the man fell into was a meat grinder. The outlet’s video showed people at the scene who appeared to be upset following the incident.
Upset is one way to describe it…
The outlet said the man’s identity was not released pending his family’s notification:

“Sgt. Onopa said there was no indication of foul play and that it appears to be a terrible accident,” the ABC 7 report stated.

At least 2 dead after flash flooding prompts New Jersey state of emergency
[FoxWeather] Officials in Plainfield, New Jersey, say two people were killed when their vehicle was swept away during the height of Monday's storm.

Fierce storms that led to flash flooding across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic on Monday have turned deadly after heavy rainfall unleashed widespread chaos along the Interstate 95 corridor, submerging major cities, transforming streets into waterways and prompting New Jersey to declare a state of emergency.

Officials in Plainfield, New Jersey, confirmed Tuesday morning that at least two people were killed when their vehicle was swept into a raging brook during the height of the storm.

Some areas of the Garden State and portions of Pennsylvania were deluged with over 6 inches of rain in a short period as relentless downpours Monday night into Tuesday morning led to numerous stranded vehicles, impassable roads and multiple water rescues as emergency crews worked to assist those caught in the rising floodwaters.

New York City experienced its second-wettest hour on record (2.07 inches) and shattered a 117-year-old daily rain record on Monday, the FOX Forecast Center notes.

Washington, Baltimore, New York City and Hartford, Connecticut, were just a few of the major cities under Flash Flood Warnings. At one point, around 18 million Americans across the East were under a warning as 2 inches of rain was reported in just one hour in Hopewell, New Jersey, on Monday evening.

If the flooding in the Northeast wasn't enough, a Flash Flood Emergency was issued in southern Virginia overnight, where the cities of Colonial Heights and Petersburg saw several inches of rain that prompted high water rescues throughout the city. Water rescues from apartment buildings were also reported.

The two cities are roughly located just south of Richmond, Virginia. On Sunday, the same areas experienced flooding as well. This now marks the 48th Flash Flood Emergency in 2025.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy declared a State of Emergency for the state due to flash flooding, urging residents to stay off the roads.

Major airports throughout the Northeast reported ground stops while busy commuter trains, including the New York City Subway, NJ Transit and Grand Central's Metro North faced extreme delays or had service suspended.

The FOX Forecast Center said rain will become more scattered Tuesday and Wednesday. Not everyone will see rain, but the gloomy skies will remain for most. For the day on Tuesday, most of the action remains in the mid-Atlantic and Carolinas as a Level 2 out of 4 flash flood risk is present.

Three dead as ''cloudburst'' triggers urban flooding in Hyderabad
[GEO.TV] At least three people were killed and three others sustained injuries as torrential rains lashed Hyderabad and surrounding areas on Monday, causing urban flooding and widespread disruption.

Deputy Commissioner Zainul Abideen claimed that a sudden cloudburst triggered intense downpours for over 90 minutes across multiple areas including Latifabad, Qasimabad, and Tandojam, submerging streets and neighbourhoods under several feet of water.

Floodwater also entered homes and hospitals, straining emergency services. In Latifabad, water accumulation under the railway bridge cut off access between Hyderabad and Qasimabad.

Meanwhile, at least 350 electricity feeders tripped in the HESCO region, resulting in widespread power outages that hampered dewatering efforts.

The deputy commissioner further said that an alert had been issued and efforts were underway to operate pumping stations to drain water from submerged areas.

Syria says wildfires in Latakia province contained after 10 days
[IsraelTimes] Syria’s civil defense agency says wildfires in the country’s west, which have burned vast tracts of forest and farmland and forced evacuations, have been brought under control after 10 days.

In a statement on Facebook, the agency says that “with the spread of the fires halted and the fire hotspots brought under control on all fronts” on Saturday, teams on the ground were working to cool down the affected areas while monitoring any signs of reignition.

The blazes in the coastal province of Latakia broke out amid an intense heatwave across the region.

The UN humanitarian agency OCHA said they destroyed about 100 square kilometers (40 square miles) of forest and farmland.

As the fires raged, Syrian emergency workers faced tough conditions including high temperatures, strong winds, rugged mountainous terrain and the danger of explosive war remnants.

Islamabad court remands five foreigners for ''running'' illegal call centre
[GEO.TV] An Islamabad district and sessions court has granted two-day physical remand of five [English speaking] foreign nationals accused of operating an illegal call centre in the G-10 area of the capital.

The suspects were presented in court by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

According to the NCCIA, the call centre was raided recently and found to be hosting a fraudulent online network, allegedly run by the five foreign individuals. More than 60 Pak nationals were also employed at the site.

During the court proceedings, the prosecutor stated that the accused were part of an organised network involved in online scams through illegal websites. ''Further interrogation of the suspects is necessary,'' the prosecutor told the court while seeking their physical remand.

The court accepted the prosecution's plea and directed authorities to present the foreign nationals again on July 16.

The NCCIA spokesperson confirmed that the suspects were arrested during a raid in G-10 and that action would also be taken against those who provided them with support and security within Pakistain.

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] An adrenaline junkie fractured his skull and needed two major surgeries after he attempted a world-record 'death dive' from an Australian waterfall.

Vali Graham, 21, suffered horrific injuries after he leapt from the top of Minnehaha Falls, a 42.5metre cliff, in the NSW Blue Mountains on June 11. He has undergone multiple operations and weeks of rehabilitation after the dive.

Footage of the death-defying stunt showed Mr Graham gearing himself up at the top of the waterfall on a rock ledge before he jumped off and performed an acrobatic twist in the air on the way down.

Europe
What Dead Birds Have to Do with the End of Europe
[Free Press] Two years ago Michela Padovani, a 32-year-old microbiologist from Verona, traveled to Venice for Italy’s once-a-year taxidermy licensing exam. Venice is the only city that allows the Italian Taxidermy Association (ATI) to administer its test. Twenty years ago, Padovani might have been part of a cohort of 10 or 15 aspiring taxidermists. But she is the only taxidermist to have earned a license that year—or since.

Padovani, a sunny and soft-spoken blonde, likes birds, puzzles, and collecting. Taxidermy drew the three interests together. "It seemed so precise and creative, so satisfying, as a craft," she told me this spring. The weekend-long Italian National Taxidermy Championship was winding down and Padovani, who had just won Best in Show in Birds—for a first-place cuckoo, a parakeet, and a long-tailed glossy starling, embalmed dragonfly in its beak—kvelled over her awards.

Outside her orbit, however, the mood was more glum. "We have an enormous problem," said Iginio Bressan, president emeritus of the ATI.

"Twenty years ago we had 400 entries," said Piero Della Libera, a 66-year-old graphic designer who won third prize in small birds for a blue-gray thrush. "Now we have 81."

Government Corruption
Secret Service officials were aware of ‘classified threat' 10 days before Butler assassination attempt, failed to tell agents guarding Trump
[NYP] Senior-level Secret Service officials failed to share "classified threat information" related to President Trump with those assigned to protect him during the Pennsylvania campaign rally where he was nearly assassinated, according to a congressional watchdog report.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) found the classified intelligence had been presented to Secret Service officials a full 10 days before the July 13, 2024 assassination attempt in Butler, but the agency’s "siloed practice for sharing" sensitive information resulted in few being aware of the threat against Trump’s life.

The special agent in charge of the Secret Service’s Pittsburgh field office, which oversees the district where the rally took place, told the GAO he did not receive any information about a threat, either.

"He reported that if he had received the threat information, he would have requested additional assets, such as ballistic glass, additional drone mitigation, and a full counter sniper advance team, among other assets," the report states.

The Secret Service had "multiple opportunities to share this information" leading up to the rally "but repeatedly failed to do so," Gassley’s office contends.

"[T]he Secret Service had no process to share classified threat information with partners when the information was not considered an imminent threat to life," read the GAO report, released Saturday by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).

2. Fire the senior officials who didn’t. It’s their job to see that need and handle it.

DOJ to Reduce Foreign Languages in Government Services
[Breitbart] The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that it will be reducing the use of foreign languages in the government.

In a press release, the DOJ explained that it would be leading “a coordinated effort across federal agencies to minimize non-essential multilingual services.” As part of the coordinated effort, resources will be redirected to “English-language education and assimilation.” The policy follows President Donald Trump’s executive order making English the official language of the United States.

“As President Trump has made clear, English is the official language of the United States,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement. Bondi added that the DOJ would be leading “the effort to codify” Trump’s executive order and to “eliminate wasteful virtue-signaling policies across government agencies to promote assimilation over division.”

At the beginning of March, Trump signed an executive order designating English as the official language of the U.S.

“From the founding of our Republic, English has been used as our national language,” the executive order states. “Our Nation’s historic governing documents, including the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, have all been written in English. It is therefore long past time that English is declared as the official language of the United States.”

Breitbart News has also reported that the Trump administration directed the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to “end language translation services” for people who called inquiring about their immigration or employment status.

Musk's Grok signs $200m deal with Pentagon days after antisemitism row
[BBC] The Pentagon has signed a multi-million dollar deal to begin using Elon Musk's artificial intelligence chatbot, Grok, as part of a wider rollout of AI tools for government use, the Department of Defence confirmed.

Announced on Monday by Musk's company xAI, the $200m (£149m) contract is part of its "Grok for Government" programme, and aligns with the Trump administration's push for more aggressive adoption of artificial intelligence.

It comes just days after Grok sparked backlash for spouting antisemitic posts, including praise for Adolf Hitler on X, the social media platform owned by Musk.

Musk said the bot was "too compliant" and "too eager to please". He said the issue was being addressed.

Musk's xAI says the new deal will give US government departments access to Grok 4, the latest version of the chatbot, and offer custom tools for national security use.

The company also plans to provide technical support for classified environments.

The Pentagon also announced awarding similar contracts to Anthropic, Google and OpenAI - each with a $200m ceiling.

"The adoption of AI is transforming the Department's ability to support our warfighters and maintain strategic advantage over our adversaries," said the administration's Chief Digital and AI Officer Doug Matty.

Musk says Grok chatbot was 'manipulated' into praising Hitler

WHAT IS AI AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
Musk's expanding government partnerships come amid a deteriorating relationship with President Donald Trump.

The Tesla and SpaceX boss had spent a quarter of a billion dollars on Trump's re-election effort in 2024, and actively campaigned for him.

He was later appointed to run the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) - a federal cost-cutting initiative tasked with reducing the size of the US government.

But in recent months, Musk began openly criticising what Trump had dubbed the "Big Beautiful Bill", a sprawling spending and tax cuts legislation that the Tesla boss said was too costly for Americans.

Musk resigned from his post at Doge in May, though the department has not been officially disbanded.

Since then, Trump had suggested Doge could be deployed to harm Musk's companies.

Trump also suggested he might deport Musk, who is an American citizen and was born in South Africa. He also holds Canadian citizenship.

While at the helm of Doge, the White House was criticised for allowing Musk to have unfettered access to troves of government data on American citizens.

Despite the fall-out, Musk's xAI has continued to expand its government work. Its newly-announced contract may also create an avenue for that data collection to continue.

Grok was introduced in late 2023 as a more unfiltered alternative to other AI chatbots like ChatGPT. It is already integrated into Musk's social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

Big Fertility Needs To Be Honest With Patients About The Consequences Of IVF
[Federalist] When faced with infertility, Ericka Andersen turned to in-vitro fertilization (IVF) in hopes of finally having children of her own. A committed pro-life advocate, she believed IVF aligned with her values. But it wasn’t until she gave birth to her children that she learned how many extra embryos had been created in the process.

No one prepared Ericka for the weight that she would carry because of her decision. Years later, she lives with daily pain and grief over the nine lives she never expected to create but cannot ignore.

"Today, I have two healthy, amazing children [that] were conceived from this decision and I am everyday grateful for this," she wrote recently in a Substack post. "However, I have deep anguish at the lives that I haven’t carried, the siblings of my children that they will never meet. The babies I will never know, whose eyes I will not see, whose bodies I will not rock, whose smiles I will not recognize."

Too many families like Ericka’s begin their IVF journey without fully understanding the implications, risks, and decisions they will face. Behind the closed doors of fertility clinics, thousands of embryos are being created daily, but we have no idea exactly how many and what the fate is for each of them.

Families deserve to know what they are consenting to, and the public deserves insight into an industry that has significant ethical issues but is currently operating with little oversight.

IVF is a process in which a woman’s eggs are fertilized outside of the womb in hopes of increasing her chances of having a live birth. The IVF process consists of four main steps. The first is egg retrieval from the woman. Then comes the key step in the process, fertilization; it is at this point that the egg goes from a gamete to a human embryo with its own unique set of DNA. After the embryo is created, it is then transferred into the uterus, and, in most cases, embryo freezing follows to preserve the leftover embryos that did not get transferred.

Navy's next-generation submarine program faces alarming delay to 2040
The increased finding in the Big Beautiful Bill President Trump just signed will help.
[FoxNews] Production constraints and rising costs force nine-year delay as shipbuilding programs operate in 'perpetual state of triage'

The Navy’s next-generation attack submarine won’t be a reality for at least 15 years, according to a new report.

The Navy’s SSN(X) was originally slated to enter production in 2031. That timeline has since slipped – to 2035 and now to 2040, due to escalating costs and budget constraints.

The Navy requested $623 million in its FY 2026 budget to advance the program.

This new class is expected to emphasize stealth, intelligence gathering, larger torpedo payloads and advanced connectivity with unmanned undersea systems.
Under the circumstances, the new boss might want to review the plan and the possibilities — do they want to skip straight to the generation after that?
The report urges lawmakers to consider whether the delay could threaten U.S. undersea dominance and the Navy’s ability to conduct critical missions.

At around 10,000 tons, the SSN(X) is projected to cost between $6.7 billion and $8 billion per vessel, making it significantly more expensive than the Virginia‑class subs it’s intended to replace.

Virginia‑class boats cost approximately $4 billion each and have been in service since 1998. The Navy typically procures two per year, but actual production has slowed to just 1.2–1.4 subs annually, resulting in a growing backlog of funded but unconstructed boats.

For FY 2025, the Navy requested only one Virginia‑class submarine due to production constraints. Only two U.S. shipyards – Electric Boat and Newport News – are equipped to build nuclear-powered submarines.

The report also encourages lawmakers to examine the impact of deferring production on the industrial base and whether shifting from highly enriched uranium reactors to low-enriched uranium might offer cost or safety advantages.

Meanwhile, the Navy aims to grow its fleet from 296 to 381 ships in the coming decades – but experts warn that major industrial expansion would be required to reach those targets.

"We need more ships delivered on time and on budget, and we are challenged in both arenas," said Brett A. Seidle, acting assistant secretary of the Navy for research, development and acquisition, during a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing. "Costs are rising faster than inflation, and schedules on multiple programs are delayed one to three years."

Despite nearly doubling its shipbuilding budget over the past two decades, the Navy has consistently fallen short of its ship-count goals. The Government Accountability Office noted that Navy shipbuilding programs and yards are effectively operating in a "perpetual state of triage."

Last month, Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D‑Conn., the top Democrat on the Appropriations Committee, pressed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on his plan to expand shipbuilding capacity.

"I want your plan. Can we get that in writing and on paper? Because we don’t have anything today – zip, nada," she said.

#1  I gotta mention that 2025 technology designs will be obsolete by 2040.

#2  At this point, it will likely be unimportant what design they come up with, as they can't manage to build it anyway.
