Somali forces, local fighters repel Al-Shabaab assault in central region: army
[Garowe] The Somali National Army (SNA), with the help of local fighters, blocked the Al-shabaab militants from making advances in central regions, leading to an altercation with lasted for several hours, Saturday, amid the ongoing crackdown against the group.

Multiple security sources said heavy fighting took place within Gumare village, southeast of Moqokori town, on Saturday, between government forces supported by Ma’awisley fighters on one side and al-Shabaab militants.

Major Salim Omar Ahmed, the commander of the 27th battalion, said at least 15 Al-Shabaab fighters were killed, with one pickup destroyed. The al-Shabaab fighters were unable to proceed to Moqokori, their desired destination.

The message was corroborated by local sources who said the militants were trying to advance to Moqokori town but suffered massive losses, leading to an instant retreat. They have been pushed back to Cel Qoxle village, which they seized several days ago.

Al-Shabaab on their side claimed killing 15 government soldiers and injuring 25 others during today’s fighting, a claim that has not been independently verified. The militants are fond of exaggerating their numbers, a strategy used to mislead the masses.

Somali Military Targets Al-Shabaab Stronghold, Killing Senior Commanders
[Garowe] The Somali National Army (SNA) has eliminated two senior al-Shabaab
... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
commanders in central regions, in the latest crackdown against the group, which has caused havoc in central and southern regions, killing many innocent civilians in the process.

The al-Shabaab has been fighting for the last two decades to retake the country, but the strong resistance from the local forces and the peacekeeping mission troops has made it technically impossible for the faceless myrmidons to make strides.

According to reports, the faceless myrmidons were killed during an operation initiated by local militia with the help of the Somali National Army within Guulane in Middle Shabelle. The region is the epicentre of the al-Shabaab defiance over the last seven months.

Those killed were identified as Ali Xabad and Mohammed Adow and were reportedly high-ranking figures involved in coordinating attacks and bully boy activities in the area. Several other fighters were also killed during the assault.

They are said to have been the key organisers of the assaults against government troops, regional forces, local fighters, international partners, and the innocent civilians. Security forces were monitoring them before their elimination.

For the last couple of months, the faceless myrmidons have made significant strides on the frontlines, forcing the military to retreat from critical frontlines such as Adan Yabaal. However,
by candlelight every wench is handsome...
the government maintains it is firmly in charge of strategic towns.

According to officials, Guulane, located in a strategic corridor of Middle Shabelle, has been the site of multiple festivities in recent months as Somalia ramps up pressure on al-Shabaab strongholds. Liberation of Middle Shabelle is the major concern of the government.

While the group’s activities are on the surge, the government has deployed more troops in various frontlines with assistance from members
of the international community. The US Africa Command is also a major participant in the stabilisation mission in Somalia.

Houthis claim hypersonic missile strike on Ben Gurion airport; early Monday a.m. 20 IDF fighter jets bounce Houthi rubble at 3 ports, power station in response
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The Houthis from the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement attacked Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv using a hypersonic ballistic missile. This statement was made on July 6 by Houthi spokesman Yahya Saria.

"The Rocket Forces (...) carried out a military operation in which they struck the airport (...) using a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile, " Saria said in an interview with Al Masirah TV.
According to the IDF, the thing was headed for the Judean desert at 3:00 Sunday morning when the IDF shot it down. But at least this time the Houthis had it aimed at the right country. They don’t always…
He said the operation was successful
…it was successful for the IDF, yes. Not for the Houthis. Sorry.
and the airport's operations were temporarily suspended.
Also a no. Maybe next time…
The Israeli army, in turn, earlier reported the interception of a missile launched from Yemeni territory. Air raid sirens were sounded in several areas of the country.

Israel carries out strikes on Houthi-controlled power station, ports across Yemen
[IsraelTimes] IDF confirms that targets include ‘Galaxy Leader’ ship which was hijacked by Houthis in November 2023; Katz threatens that Iran-backed group will ‘continue to pay a heavy price’

Israel carried out extensive strikes on Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. targets in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
overnight between Sunday and Monday, shortly after it issued evacuation orders for several areas of the country.

The IDF confirmed early Monday morning that its Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s had targeted multiple Houthi terror targets in Yemen, including the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Isa and Salif, and the Ras Khatib power station.

The airstrikes also hit the "Galaxy Leader" vessel, which was hijacked by the Houthis in November 2023 and used for maritime surveillance and operational planning, the IDF said. The Houthis took the ship and its crew of 25 people — who hailed from from the Philippines, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine and Mexico — captive in November 2023, only freeing them in January 2025 after more than a year of holding them hostage. The IDF said that the Houthis "installed a radar system on the ship, and are using it to track vessels in international maritime space, in order to promote the Houthi terrorist regime’s activities."

According to the military, all the targets hit in the overnight strikes were used by the Iran-backed Houthi regime to transfer weapons and conduct terror activity against Israel and global shipping.

The IDF said the strikes come in response to repeated Houthi missile and drone attacks on Israeli territory and highlight the group’s ongoing use of civilian infrastructure for military purposes.

In a statement early Monday morning, Defense Minister Israel Katz repeated the threat he made following that missile attack, that "Yemen will be treated like Tehran," referencing the intensive Israeli strikes across Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
during the recent 12-day conflict.

"Anyone who tries to harm Israel will be harmed, anyone who raises a hands against Israel will have it cut off," Katz added, saying that the IDF was "forcefully" striking a number of terror targets in Yemen. "The Houthis will continue to pay a heavy price for their actions."

The strikes came about half an hour after the IDF’s Arabic-language front man issued an "urgent" evacuation warning for the three Houthi-controlled ports and the power plant in Yemen.

The Houthi military spokesperson claimed following the attacks that Houthis’ air defenses confronted the Israeli attack "by using a large number of domestically produced surface-to-air missiles."
I believe them. But shooting off and hitting are two very different skills, and Allah clearly doesn’t want the Houthis to hit anything Israeli.
Residents told Rooters that the Israeli strikes on the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah put the main power station out of service, leaving the city in darkness. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported that Israel launched a series of strikes on Hodeidah. The campaign came hours after a ship was attacked off the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah and the ship’s crew abandoned it as it took on water. No one immediately grabbed credit for the attack, but security firm Ambrey said the vessel fits the typical profile of a Houthi target.
More from the Times of Israel:
The IDF says its strikes overnight on Houthi targets in Yemen were carried out by around 20 fighter jets, who dropped more than 50 munitions in the attack.

IDF reports Hamas’s north Gaza naval commander killed in strike on cafe last week as 130 targets hit in 24 hours
[IsraelTimes] IDF says Ramzi Ramadan Abd Ali Salah was killed along with several other senior Hamas members; Gaza hospitals say 33 killed in Israeli strikes across the enclave since morning

The Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet announced on Sunday that Ramzi Ramadan Abd Ali Salah, the commander of Hamas

last Monday in Gaza City.

The military confirmed that he was the target of a strike in an internet cafe, which Hamas-linked authorities said killed 24 people, including women and kiddies.

Several other bad boyz were potted in the operation, the military said.

Salah, identified by the IDF as a key figure in Hamas’s maritime capabilities, had been actively planning attacks against Israeli forces operating in the Strip, the military said. He was targeted inside a building in Gaza City, where he was meeting with other operatives.

The strike, carried out by an Israeli Air Force jet, was guided by intelligence from the Navy, the Military Intelligence Directorate, and the Shin Bet.

Among the other Hamas members killed were Hisham Ayman Atiya Mansour, deputy head of a Hamas mortar unit, and Nassim Muhammad Suleiman Abu Sabha
...After the Libyan Civil War, Sabha grew in importance as a slave auctioning town. However, an investigation by the National Commission for Human Rights in Libya (NCHRL) revealed that while there was illegal slavery, reports were exaggerated, as slave auctions were rare and not made public. This was a great comfort to everyone but the slaves peddled in secret. The city was later seized by forces loyal to the Libyan National Army (LNA) and its leader Khalifa Haftar in January 2019, probably for its collection of MiG-25 aircraft.....
, a member of Hamas’s mortar unit, according to the joint statement.

The IDF said several measures were taken to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision munitions, aerial surveillance, and intelligence assessments.

On Sunday, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 33 Paleostinians across Gaza, hospital officials said.

Twenty people were killed and 25 maimed when Israeli strikes hit two houses in Gaza City, according to Mohammed Abu Selmia, the director of Shifa Hospital that serves the area.

In southern Gaza, 13 Paleostinians were killed by strikes in Mawasi, an area on Gaza’s Mediterranean where many displaced people live in tents, officials at Nasser Hospital in nearby Khan Younis told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named. Five of the dead belonged to the same family, according to the hospital.

The figures offered by hospital officials did not distinguish between combatants and civilians.

The military had no immediate comment on the individual strikes, but said it had struck 130 terror targets across the Gaza Strip in the previous 24 hours.

The IDF said the strikes targeted Hamas command and control structures, storage facilities, weapons, and launchers, and killed a number of terror operatives in northern Gaza.

Also on Sunday, the IDF provided further details on the incident in which Sgt. Asaf Zamir, 19, from Dimona, was killed on Friday in combat in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza.

According to the military, Zamir was killed during operational activity conducted by the 53rd Armored Corps Battalion of the 188th Brigade. During the incident, four other soldiers were maimed — two severely and two moderately.

Among the injured was the company commander, who sustained wounds while attempting to rescue the forces under fire.

Shortly after the attack, the Israeli Air Force struck and eliminated part of the cell responsible for the assault.

Israeli forces have operated inside the Gaza strip for over 20 months, since the Hamas-led terror onslaught on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, in which some 1,200 people were killed and 251 taken hostage.

IDF: Two missiles fired from Yemen early Monday morning, interception attempted
[IsrelTimes] The IDF says that two missiles were fired from Yemen in the latest attack about 30 minutes ago.
About 9:30 p.m. EDT. or 3:30-ish in the morning over there, if I am calculating correctly..
The military says that it attempted to shoot the missiles down, and it is still investigating whether the attempts were successful.

The Magen David Adom ambulance service said earlier that it had not received any reports about impacts on injuries.
…which strongly suggests the shoot-downs were successful.
Sirens had sounded in a number of settlements south of Jerusalem, including across the Etzion bloc and in Hebron, as well as near the Dead Sea. A warning of incoming missiles was sent to a wider area, including most residents of the capital.

The missiles were fired just a few hours after the IDF carried out strikes on a number of Houthi targets in Yemen.

Two Palestinians said killed by Israeli fire in village near Nablus; no immediate comment from IDF
[IsraelTimes] The Palestinian Authority health ministry says that two men were shot dead by Israeli forces near the city of Nablus, in the West Bank, earlier today.

Qusai Nasser Mahmud Nassar, 23, and Wissam Ghassan Hassan Shtayyeh, 37, “were shot and killed by the occupation forces on Sunday afternoon in the village of Salem, east of Nablus,” the ministry says in a statement.

According to WAFA, the PA’s official news agency, a 62-year-old man was also injured by the gunfire and was evacuated for medical treatment by the Palestinian Red Crescent.

It says that the Palestinian Red Crescent received Nassar’s body after the incident, but that the IDF has not yet handed over the body of Shtayyeh.

There is no immediate comment from the IDF.

IDF says troops destroyed several Assad regime outposts in Syrian buffer zone
[IsraelTimes] Troops from the IDF’s 810th “Mountains” Regional Brigade, under the command of the 210th Division, continue to carry out targeted operations in southern Syria, the military says.

In one such operation, reserve forces from the 810th Brigade, together with Yahalom combat engineers, destroyed several outposts belonging to the former Assad regime in the Syrian buffer zone.

According to the military, these outposts posed a direct threat to IDF positions in the Mount Hermon area.

The brigade’s forces continue to conduct proactive operations in southern Syria to protect the security of Israeli citizens, and residents of the Golan Heights in particular, the IDF says.

French teenager disappears on bike trip in Iran, sparking fears he’s been detained
What is wrong with the boy’s parents, that they let their idiot son wander alone through a Third World war zone? Especially Iran, well known for kidnapping Westerners for fun and profit.
[IsraelTimes] Lennart Monterlos, 18, has been missing since June 16; Iran is already holding 2 French nationals it has accused of spying for Israel, whom France calls hostages and demands back

A French teenager who was on a cycling trip in Iran has been missing since June 16, a diplomatic source told AFP on Sunday.

Posts shared on Instagram identified the missing person as 18-year-old Lennart Monterlos, who allegedly also holds German citizenship.

“This disappearance is worrying. We are in contact with the family about this,” the French diplomatic source said, when asked about the missing person notices on social media.

French nationals are advised not to travel to Iran, as the government is implementing “a deliberate policy of taking Western hostages,” the source added.

The source was unable to confirm if the young Frenchman was among the Europeans recently arrested in Iran on charges of spying for Israel.

Iran is believed to hold around 20 European nationals, many of whose cases have never been publicized.

Three other Europeans, who have not been identified, have also been arrested in the wake of the recent conflict, two of whom have been accused of spying for Israel.

French nationals Cecile Kohler, 40, and Jacques Paris, her 72-year-old partner, have been held in Iran since May 2022 on charges of espionage that their families deny.

They were among the prisoners held in Evin Prison in Tehran, which Israel bombed on the penultimate day of its 12-day war with Iran. Two inmates were said to have been killed in the strike, and the rest transferred to other prisons.

France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot spoke to his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, on Sunday to demand the release of Kohler and Paris, according to the ministry, which did not say if the French minister raised the case of Monterlos.

Iran earlier this week charged Kohler and Paris with spying for Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad, as well as “corruption of Earth” and “plotting to overthrow the regime,” diplomatic and family sources told AFP on Wednesday.

Tehran has not confirmed the new charges, all three of which carry the death penalty. France says their “arbitrary” arrest and the conditions of their detention are “tantamount to torture.”

Monterlos had given details of his trip in a post on a crowdfunding platform, writing that he was in his final year of high school in eastern France and wanted to cycle across Europe and Asia.

IDF says it struck Hezbollah targets in southern and eastern Lebanon
[IsraelTimes] The IDF says it carried out airstrikes against several Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa region of eastern Lebanon a short while ago.

The strikes targeted military sites, infrastructure used for storing and producing strategic weapons, and a rocket launch site belonging to the terror group, it says.

The military says that Hezbollah’s presence and activity in the area constitute a clear violation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon.
