[ToloNews] In a latest incident of violence, at least 27 security force members were killed in Ghazni city in the past two days.

Lawmakers from Ghazni said that three government check posts have fallen to the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
in the past few days.

Local officials in Baghlan said that hundreds of people have taken up arms to fight the Taliban.

"We have launched an operation code-named Pamir 302 which is aimed to suppressing and repelling the plans by the (enemy)," said Gen. Abbas Tawakoli, the deputy commander of 209 Shaheen Army Corps.

"We are not in the defensive position, we are on thevoffensive mode. There have been massive progress in Baghlan and Ghazni since yesterday," Afghan Chief of Army Staff Gen. Yasin Zia said.

Alongside Ghazni city, Khawja Omari, Jaghato, Waghaz and Khogyani districts have also faced deadly battles in the past days.

"The people are ready to fight alongside their security forces," said Faraidoon, the commander of public uprising force in Baghlan.

"Fighting has escalated significantly. Currently, festivities are underway there and many families are under siege," said Abdul Manan, a resident of Arezo village in Ghazni.

But, the Afghan Ministry of Defense said that offensive operations have been launched to eliminate Taliban in areas under their control.

Both parties the Afghan government and the Taliban have claimed of inflicting devastating toll on each other.

Reports say that civilians have also been killed during these festivities.

The Defense Ministry said that at least 250 Taliban fighters were killed in at least seven provinces in the last 24 hours.
MoD in a recent tweet said 250 gunnies and faceless myrmidons were killed and further 106 others were maimed across Afghanistan.

The ministry further added, ANDSF also discovered and neutralized 29 various types of landmines and IEDs placed to target civilians and security force members in the regions.

Afghan Military’s commando forces have stationed the Dahan-e-Ghori district in northern Baghlan province as fierce battles continue in the region. Security sources told media that Afghan commando reinforcements were deployed and three outposts fallen to the Taliban

were recaptured. At least 10 security force members were rescued in the commando operations, reports indicate.

Afghan commandos in a joint operation with the Afghan army’ 209th Shaheen Corps were deployed to the area and that routs to Pul-e-Khumri city the center of Baghlan province were reopened.

According to sources Taliban have suffered heavy casualties, but details were not provided on its exact figure.

Reports indicate that the Taliban also attacked Nahrin district in Baghlan province on Friday night, but the attacks were rebuffed by the Afghan National Defense and Security forces.

On Friday, Afghan military’s commando units have launched air and ground offensives on the Taliban in Baghlan-e-Markazi in Baghlan province. According to security sources, at least 27 Talibs were so far killed in the Baghlan operations. Security sources in the region told the media that the Taliban are under commandos’ siege.

This comes as the Ministry of Defense denied Taliban claims of ’surrendered 200 Afghan troops’ in Baghlan-e-Markazi, and added that 17 Taliban were killed during the operations.

Reports indicate the Afghan military including commandos have launched attacks on Taliban bases in several other provinces in Afghanistan.

Moreover, local sources in Samangan province said that three security force members were killed in a Taliban attack in the Dara-e-Suf Bala district of the province. Sultan Ali Sultan, district governor of Dara-e-Suf Bala told media on Saturday that the incident took place on Friday night in Kotal Qala area of the district. Sultan added that following the Taliban attack from three positions on a security outpost, two coppers and a public uprising force member were killed in the area.

In the meantime, Security sources told the media that ANDSF has abandoned a military base and three outposts in the Alingar district of Laghman
...Afghan province with a population of about 445,600, which is multi-ethnic and mostly a rural society. During the invasions of Alexander the Great, the area was known as Lampaka, wich is apparently Olde Macedonian for Laghman. The city of Mihtarlam serves as the bucolic capital of the province. The population is half Pashtun, the remainder Tadjik and Pashai. It had a repution for great wealth until it was conquered in the tenth century by Abu Mansur Sabuktigin.
He conquered it and set fire to the places in its vicinity which were inhabited by infidels, and demolishing the idol-temples, he established Islam in them, He marched and captured other cities and killed the polluted wretches, destroying the idolatrous and gratifying the Musulmans. province on Friday. The base and outposts were abandoned following the Taliban offensive, the krazed killer group also claimed that they have captured 14 members of the Afghan forces and seized a number of weapons and ammunition.

Reports from the latest waves of skirmishes indicate that the Taliban overran security outposts in Arezo village on the outskirts of Ghazni city, at least 16 security force members were killed and three others were maimed during the battle.

In Maidan Wardak province, three Taliban infiltrators opened fire and killed 10 soldiers before they escaped to Taliban controlled area, looting military weapons with them.

Rohullah Ahmadzai, a front man for the Ministry of defense said, the Taliban have faced heavy casualties in Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
, Baghlan, Ghazni, Maidan Wardak, ANDSF has crushed "terrorists" with more strength than ever before.

The front man added that ANDSF raided a high-profile Taliban gathering in the Bolan area on the outskirts of Lashkargah city and killed a key Taliban commander. According to Ahmadzai, Taliban’s shadow governors were also maimed during the operation.

On the other hand, in Ghazni province, at least six government defense force members were killed after the Taliban stormed a security outpost in Arezo village of Ghazni province, and three others were maimed. Subsequently, 12 others were taken hostage, and eight soldiers surrendered in a second outpost without any resistance, reports indicated.

The battles should be taken from centers to districts and to remote areas rather than evacuating outposts or districts and stations at the center, Khan Agha Rezaee, head of parliament’s internal security commission told local media.

At least 23 Taliban fighters were killed and 27 others were maimed following an Afghan Air Force operation that targeted a gathering of Taliban commanders in the Bala Buluk district of Farah province. The Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s were carried on Friday in Shewan village of the district.

Taliban claimed that they fired several rockets on a security base in the area following the attack.

Dadullah Qane, head of Farah provincial council said the Talibs have proved their dark face, and also massacred captured hostages.

Earlier, the Taliban has captured the second-biggest dam "Dahla Dam" in Afghanistan following months of fierce and heavy battle in Kandahar official told media. The Dahla Dam which supports irrigating farming lands and provides drinking water for the placid provincial capital fell to the Taliban on Thursday, AFP reported.

Qari Yousuf, a Taliban front man while talking to AFP said, "We have seized the Dahla Dam in Arghandab".

Haji Gulbuddin, governor of Arghandab district also confirmed to AFP that the dam is currently under the control of the Talibs.

"Our security forces ... asked for reinforcements but they failed to get it," Gulbuddin said.

Taliban also warned the Dahla dam workers not to go to work.

In the previous month, gunnies blew a bridge that connected the dam to adjacent districts, the dam provides irrigating and drinking water to about seven districts of Kandahar, AFP reported.

A grand of nearly $350 million was approved by the Asian Development Bank to expand the reservoir-style project in 2019.

Before falling to the Taliban intense battles were ongoing in the surroundings of the dam for the past six months, Taliban before retreating planted explosives across the area including residential complexes closes to the reservoir.
The Afghan National Army’s commando forces broke the siege in Dahana-e-Ghori district in the northern province of Baghlan as fighting continues there in the last three days.

Safiqullah Amiri, commander of commando forces regiment in the north who leads the operations in Baghlan, said that reinforcements have arrived in the district and that three outposts that had fallen to the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
were retaken.

He said that at least 10 security force members were rescued during the operation.

Amiri said that he was accompanied by the deputy commander of the Afghan Army’s 209 Shaheen Corps and stationed more forces there. He added that ways connecting the district with Pul-e-Khumri city, the center of Baghlan, have been reopened.

Bomb kills at least 30 near girls' school in Afghan capital
[APNEWS] A bomb went kaboom! near a girls’ school in a majority Shiite district of west Kabul on Saturday, killing at least 30 people, many of them young pupils between 11 and 15 years old. The Taliban
...Arabic for students...
condemned the attack and denied any responsibility.

Ambulances evacuated the maimed as relatives and residents screamed at authorities near the scene of the blast at Syed al-Shahda school, in the Dasht-e-Barchi neighborhood, Interior Ministry front man Tariq Arian said. The corpse count was expected to rise further.

The bombing, apparently aimed to cause maximum civilian carnage, adds to fears that violence in the war-wrecked country could escalate as the U.S. and NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
end nearly 20 years of military engagement.

Residents in the area said the earth-shattering kaboom was deafening. One, Naser Rahimi, told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named he heard three separate explosions, although there was no official confirmation of multiple blasts. Rahimi also said he believed that the sheer power of the earth-shattering kaboom meant the corpse count would almost certainly climb.

Rahimi said the earth-shattering kaboom went off as the girls were streaming out of the school at around 4:30 p.m. local time. Authorities were investigating the attack but have yet to confirm any details.

While no one has grabbed credit for the bombing, the Afghan Islamic State

affiliate has targeted the Shiite neighborhood before.

The radical Sunni Moslem group has declared war on Afghanistan’s minority Shiite Moslems. Washington blamed IS for a vicious attack last year in a maternity hospital in the same area that killed pregnant women and newborn babies.

In Dasht-e-Barchi, angry crowds attacked the ambulances and even beat health workers as they tried to evacuate the maimed, Health Ministry front man Ghulam Dastigar Nazari said. He implored residents to cooperate and allow ambulances free access to the site.

Images circulating on social media purportedly showed bloodied school backpacks and books strewn across the street in front if the school, and smoke rising above the neighborhood.

At one nearby hospital, News Agency that Dare Not be Named journalists saw at least 20 dead bodies lined up in hallways and rooms, with dozens of maimed people and families of victims pressing through the facility.

Outside the Muhammad Ali Jinnah Hospital, dozens of people lined up to donate blood, while family members checked casualty posted lists on the walls.

Both Arian and Nazari said that at least 50 people were also maimed, and that the casualty toll could rise. The attack occurred just as the fasting day came to an end.

No one immediately grabbed credit for the attack, and Taliban front man Zabihullah Mujahid told news hounds in a message that only the Islamic State group could be responsible for such a heinous crime. Mujahid also accused Afghanistan’s intelligence agency of being complicit with IS, although he offered no evidence.

Germany investigates abuse of Turkish service passports
[DW] German prosecutors have launched an investigation into dozens of Turkish citizens suspected of entering Germany on service passports obtained through illegitimate means.

There is mounting evidence that dozens of Ottoman Turkish citizens have entered Germany on service, or "gray," passports. These passports provide visa-free entry into a country and are usually issued to people, who are not diplomats, but are on official duty abroad, attending events such as trade fairs, conferences or workshops, for example.

Public prosecutors in Weiden in der Oberpfalz in the state of Bavaria, not far from the Czech border, have opened an investigation into several alleged people smugglers suspected of obtaining service passports to aid persons not officially entitled to enter Germany. The German police was reportedly made aware of irregularities last year and has been observing trafficking activities since late 2020.

Many of the Ottoman Turkish citizens under investigation crossed into Germany from the Czech Republic

Weiden's chief prosecutor Gerd Schäfer confirmed to DW that an investigation was in place and said that it concerned 30 people suspected of having smuggled at least 213 people into Germany on gray passports. He said the case was particularly complicated because it is not one of clear illegal entry into the country as those who had come in were travelling on valid service passports. "We're only at the beginning of our investigation," Schäfer said, adding that he hoped that the cooperation with Ottoman Turkish authorities would shed light on how the service passports had been issued in the first place.

It is not only state officials who are entitled to apply for service passports. They might also be issued within the context of cooperation between two non-governmental organizations. In such a case, the foreign organization would have to issue an invitation.

There is already a similar investigation underway in Hanover involving Ersin K., who allegedly sent false invitations to 53 people in Malatya, in central The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
, to attend a conference about the environment between July 30 and August 30, 2020. According to public prosecutors in Hanover, 46 people travelled to Germany by bus before disappearing. Five of them later applied for asylum.

German politicians have called for more clarity. Left Party politician Gökay Akbulut issued an verbal request to the government asking that an investigation be conducted into how Ottoman Turkish citizens had used gray passports to enter Germany.

The government answered that the people in question had tried to come to Germany without a visa and to apply for asylum. It added that there were suspicions that the gray passports had been obtained as a result of bribery and corruption.

The government added that border authorities had been informed of the problem at the end of 2020 and that German police had been working closely with Ottoman Turkish authorities since January 2021.

Speaking on a Ottoman Turkish television program, Ottoman Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said that the government had launched an investigation into the allegations a month and half ago. "In the past six or seven months, 4,496 people have had applications for a service passport denied," he said, adding that of the 109,000 people who had travelled abroad on gray passports since 2018, 804 had not returned after the document expired.

It is not clear how many of these are in Germany. The German interior minister has said that this is part of the investigation currently underway.

According to reports in Ottoman Turkish media, people paid between €5,000 and €8,000 ($6,000-$9,640) to be smuggled into Germany.

Maldives Steps Up Hunt for Suspects after Bomb Attack on Nasheed
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

There was no claim of responsibility for Thursday's bomb attack, but officials close to Nasheed's Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) said they suspected vested political interests opposed to his anti-corruption drive.

Nasheed has vowed to investigate a $90-million theft from the state's tourism promotion authority during the tenure of former president Abdulla Yameen.
Al Ahram adds:
A top official in the Maldives said Saturday that Islamic faceless myrmidons were responsible for a kaboom earlier this week that critically maimed former President Mohammed Nasheed, as police said they arrested two of four suspects.

Hospital officials said Saturday that Nasheed is conscious and no longer needs breathing support. Two of his bodyguards and two apparent bystanders, including a British citizen, were also maimed in Thursday's blast.

Prosecutor General Hussain Shameem told news hounds that Sherlocks still do not know which bully boy group was behind the attack, which left Nasheed, 53, at death's door in an intensive care unit after life-saving surgeries to his head, chest, abdomen and limbs. No group has grabbed credit.

Nasheed, the current Parliament speaker, has been an outspoken critic of religious extremism in the predominantly Sunni Moslem nation, where preaching and practicing other faiths are banned by law. He has also been criticized by religious hard-liners for his closeness to the west and liberal policies.

Police announced Saturday that two men were arrested in connection with the attack, and released photos of two others seeking public assistance in identifying them.

Authorities say a homemade bomb contained ball bearings was attached to a cycle of violence parked near Nasheed's car. The device exploded, possibly with the use of a remote control, as he was about to leave home for an event.

Authorities announced in January that eight people arrested in November were found to have been planning to attack a school and were in the process of building bombs in a boat at sea. Police said the suspects conducted military training on uninhabited islands and recruited children.

Mountain range bombed in Sulaimani
[Rudaw] A mountain range in Sulaimani was bombed on Saturday morning, according to a local official, with Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) media claiming Ottoman Turkish warplanes bombed the area.

PKK media claimed Ottoman Turkish warplanes bombed the Asos mountain range in the Sharbazher region of Sulaimani.

The mountain range last came under attack in August, according to Mawat Mayor Kamaran Hassan, who confirmed the Saturday attack.

"We are not fully sure if it was The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
, however based on previous bombardments it would only make sense if it was Turkey," Hassan told Rudaw English on Saturday, saying no casualties have been reported.

In August, Ottoman Turkish planes bombed the Sharbazher region on multiple occasions. Ottoman Turkish planes also attacked the Iranian Kurdish opposition group Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK), killing seven members of the group.

Established in 2003, the PJAK is considered the Iranian wing of the PKK, but the PJAK claims it is linked only by shared ideology.

The PKK is an armed Kurdish group, seeking increased rights of Kurds in Turkey. Ankara considers it a terrorist organization and a threat to its national security. It frequently sends fighter jets, attack helicopters, drones, and ground troops across the border to fight the group.

Most of the PKK’s camps in the Kurdistan Region are located in Duhok province, which borders Turkey. Ankara frequently crosses the border with air and ground campaigns to pursue the PKK. However,
you can observe a lot just by watching...
areas in Sulaimani province at times come under attack by Turkey as well.

The attack on the Asos mountains comes as Turkey continues its operations against the PKK in Turkey and Duhok province.

Attack by Unmanned Aerial Surveillance System Targets Iraqi Air Base
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] An attack by an unmanned aerial surveillance system on Saturday targeted Iraq's Ain al-Asad air base in western Iraq which hosts US and other international forces, but it caused no injuries, a coalition front man said.

US Army Colonel Wayne Marotto, front man for the US-led coalition, said on Twitter that the attack was being investigated but that an initial report suggests that the attack took place at 0220 local time and caused damage to a hangar.

The United States accuses Iran-backed militia groups of launching regular rocket attacks against its troops in Iraq.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Saturday's attack.

IDF strikes Gaza after rocket fired
[IsraelTimes] A rocket was fired at Israel from the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip in the early hours of Sunday, as Paleostinians clashed with Israeli police in Jerusalem and rioted along the Gaza border with Israel amid a serious flare-up of violence over tensions surrounding the Temple Mount that saw some 90 Paleostinians hurt in riots on Saturday evening.

Around 1:30 a.m., a rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel, the Israel Defense Forces said. Rocket alert sirens were only triggered in an open field, where the projectile apparently landed. There were no reports of injuries or damage.

The army later said it carried out a reprisal strike on a Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", military post in southern Gaza.

"Terror has consequences," the IDF tweeted.

Meanwhile,
...back at the palazzo, Don Smilzo looked for an avenue of escape. The only window opened a hundred feet above the moat. The nearest of the hired assassins hold a bloody axe.
The window was looking better all the time....

on the Gaza border, some 450 Paleostinians at four locations along the fence separating the Strip from Israel set fire to tires and hurled improvised bombs at Israeli soldiers. The military launched flares over the area, as well as responding with tear gas and rubber-tipped bullets, Paleostinian media reports said.

The explosions from the IEDs could be heard in nearby Israeli towns along the Gaza border. "There is no danger and there is no change in the guidelines," a spokesperson for the Sdot Negev Regional Council told residents.

Officials said three incendiary balloons were launched into Israel, causing fires but no injuries.

Saturday also saw at least 10 fires in southern Israel caused by balloons from Gaza carrying incendiary devices. There were no reports of any injuries or danger to nearby towns.

Israel has boosted its security presence in all potential arenas of conflict, and is also deploying Iron Dome batteries near potential targets of Gaza rockets, while also making efforts behind the scenes to calm the situation.

Temple Mount: 64 Palestinians injured amid violent clashes with police Saturday night
[JPost] Tensions have risen throughout Israel during Ramadan over the potential eviction of Palestinians from Jerusalem homes in Sheikh Jarrah.

The IDF and Israel police have increased troop presence after violent clashes and the thwarting of a "major attack" overshadowed the end of Ramadan in Jerusalem and the West Bank.

Additional clashes following those that had occurred on Friday night were expected to occur once more on Saturday night as Muslim prayer-goers made their way to al-Aqsa mosque, which, as of Saturday night, hosted over 90,000 worshipers.

Despite the increased police presence, Israeli media reported Saturday night that rioting has broken out at Damascus Gate, prompting the police to respond with tear gas and rubber bullets. N12 also reported that rioters set ablaze checkpoints in the area.

Video from the scene showed rioters clashing with police as police fired stun grenades and tear gas near the Damascus Gate.

At least 64 Palestinians were injured during the clashes on Saturday night, with eight of the injured transferred to hospitals for further treatment. The Palestinian Red Crescent claimed that Israeli security forces prevented ambulances from reaching the Damascus Gate area to treat the wounded.
Update from The Times of Israel at 1:30 a.m. ET:
There was further rioting on Saturday evening in Jerusalem and Gaza, which was apparently contained in the early hours of Sunday morning by Israeli security forces, with the violence subsiding around 2 a.m.
