Afghanistan
TTP leader 'killed' in Afghanistan's Kunar province
He's 'dead' now.
[GEO.TV] An important leader of the outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban
...the once and current oppressors of Afghanistan...
Pakistain, Abdul Mannan alias Hakeemullah, was killed in Afghanistan's northeastern province Kunar, sources told Geo News on Wednesday.

According to the sources, the terrorist — killed in district Asadabad in Afghanistan — was a member of TTP's Malakand Shura and was involved in murder, landmine blasts in Bajaur, firing at security checkposts and extortion.

He was the right hand of TTP leader Azmatullah Mehsud, as per the sources, and played a key role in shaping terrorist operations in Bajaur.

The sources added that the terrorist had joined the TTP in 2007 and took part in several actions against security forces and innocent civilians, said sources.

Mannan's brother, Tariq alias Asad, is also related to the outlawed TTP, according to the sources.

It should be noted that TTP is the leading terrorist organization in Pakistain. Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch clutched at his leg. Son of a Breech! he exclaimed with feeling......
the hideouts of Afghan murderous Moslems are currently in Kunar, Nuristan, Paktika
...which coincidentally borders North Wazoo and Kurram Agency...
, Khost and other areas of the country.

Abdul Mannan's killing comes almost a week after law enforcement agencies conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) foiling the bids of TTP to set up offices in Balochistan.

According to the Counterterrorism Department (CTD), intelligence agencies also detained several dangerous terrorists, including those involving high-value and most wanted targets.

Authorities revealed that among those captured include the notorious and most wanted commander of the TTP Khawarij’s Shura.

According to the preliminary investigation by the agencies, the arrested murderous Moslems have been involved in several activities against Pakistain, alongside having linkages with domestic and international terrorists.

The CTD expected that crucial information would be obtained about the secret activities of such networks within the country, as law enforcers continue to investigate the arrested people.

Explosions at a military ammunition depot in Chad's capital kill 9
[AFRICANEWS] Nine people have been killed after a fire set off explosions at a military ammunition depot in Chad's capital.

Government spokesperson Abderaman Koulamallah confirmed the news on Wednesday adding that 46 people were being treated for various injuries after the earth-shattering kabooms jolted residents from their sleep late Tuesday in the Goudji district of the capital, N'Djamena.

The explosions lit up the sky as thick smoke covered the clouds in the West African nation, setting off frantic efforts to extinguish the fire as residents fled their homes for safety.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear, and President Mahamat Deby Itno said an investigation would be conducted.

"Peace to the souls of the victims, sincere condolences to the bereaved families and quick recovery to the injured," Deby said on Facebook. He later visited the scene of the accident as well as hospitals where the injured were being treated.

People living in the area panicked, thinking the earth-shattering kaboom was an armed attack, resident Oumar Mahamat said.

Local media reported the blasts started just before midnight as nearby buildings shook and ammunition was thrown from the depot with explosive force.

Authorities called on residents to stay out of the area, which was taken over by security forces gathering the scattered artillery shells.

Allamine Moussa, a resident, called on the government to "come to our aid urgently" after he and other residents fled their homes.

"Many families have recorded deaths and it's sad," Moussa said.

Jihadis from Africa's Sahel have crossed into Nigeria's North, a new report says.
[AFRICANEWS] Jihadi fighters who had long operated in Africa's volatile Sahel region
... North Africa's answer to the Pak tribal areas...
have settled in northwestern Nigeria after crossing from neighbouring Benin
...Benin, a French-speaking West African nation, that they put where Dahomey used to be. It is a birthplace of voodoo and zombies. In Abomey, Dahomey's former capital, the Historical Museum occupies two royal palaces with bas-reliefs recounting the kingdom’s past and a throne mounted on human skulls. To the north, Pendjari National Park offers safaris with elephants, hippos and lions and tigers and bears, oh my!...
, a new report said Wednesday, the latest trend in the bad boys' movements to wealthier West African coastal nations.

The holy warriors believed to be linked to al-Qaeda have in the last year crossed over from Benin's hard-hit northern region and settled in the Kainji Lake National Park, one of Nigeria's largest which had been under security threats, according to the report by the Clingendael Institute think tank.

Residents close to the park told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that the facility, which holds one of West Africa's fast-declining lion populations, has been closed for more than a year because of security threats from gangs attacking neighbouring villages and roads.

"Before, it was like a tourism centre (but) now, people find it difficult to pass through there," said John Yerima who lives near the park in New Bussa town. "You cannot enter that road (leading to the park) now. It is dangerous seriously."

Escalating Security Situation

The security situation at the 5,300-square-kilometer (2,000-square-mile) park in Niger state and along the nearby border with Benin is "getting out of hand" and is "a much more explosive situation than we had anticipated," said Kars de Bruijne, one of the authors of the report and senior research fellow at the institute.

The "sustained presence" of the gangs in the park is the first sign of a connection between the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group-backed holy warriors in their decade-long insurgency in northern Nigeria, and al-Qaeda-linked holy warriors from the Sahel, the vast arid expanse south of the Sahara Desert, Bruijne said.

Their presence offers an opportunity for the holy warriors "to claim large-scale success" in both countries already wracked by deadly attacks in recent years, he added.

Worsening Security in the Sahel

Known as the global hot spot for violent mostly peaceful extremism, the Sahel region's worsening security crisis comes just as military coups are toppling democratic governments. As the military governments struggle to contain the violence, they are increasingly severing security with traditional partners La Belle France and the United States, and turning to Russia for support.

In northwest Nigeria, security analysts have in the past warned that the region's remote territories — where the government is largely absent but has rich mineral resources and high poverty levels — present an opportunity for expansion for jihadi groups that had operated mainly in the Sahel as well as IS, whose fighters holds sway in the Lake Chad basin.

"A link between Lake Chad and the Sahel is a major opportunity for al-Qaeda and the Islamic State to boast about their profiles as leaders of global jihad," the report said.

A merchant ship sank in the Red Sea off the coast of Yemen
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

London, June 19, 2024, 01:44 - IA Regnum. A merchant ship that caught fire after being attacked by unknown assailants off the coast of Yemen on June 12 appears to have sank in the Red Sea. Debris and traces of fuel were found in the water area. Details were provided by the British Maritime Trade Operations Office (UKMTO) of the British Navy.

The British maritime security company Ambrey reported an attack near the port of Hodeidah. It was established that the ship Tutor, owned by a Greek company, was hit. It was heading to India under the flag of Liberia.

After the attack, a fire started on the ship; for some time the captain reported on the situation. The ship was hit by three shells, before which it was fired upon from a small boat.

The fire was brought under control and the ship continued its journey. Three days later, the crew was evacuated from the ship.

“The vessel is presumed to have sunk,” the British Navy wrote.

As Regnum reported, the Yemeni Houthis attacked a US Navy destroyer and two commercial ships Captain Paris and Happy Condor in the Red Sea. This was stated on June 16 by the military representative of the Ansar Allah movement, Yahya Saria.

On June 13, the US Central Command said that the Houthis attacked the Verbena commercial vessel, owned by Ukraine and flying the flag of Palau, with two anti-ship missiles. The crew of the cargo ship sent a distress signal, which was responded to by the Anna Meta, whose sailors evacuated the crew of the Verbena.

The Houthis began attacks on ships associated with Israel and its allies in the fall of 2023 after the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, in order to thus support the Palestinian Hamas movement. In January 2024, the United States and Great Britain began to launch retaliatory strikes against the positions of the Yemeni movement.

Germany designates BDS as 'extremist group' over anti-Israel stances
[NEWARAB] Germany on Tuesday designated the pro-Paleostinian Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) group as an "extremist movement."

The decision came following a report last year by Germany’s domestic intelligence agency saying that the movement was suspected of extremism. The report based this on the group’s participation in anti-Israel rallies and conferences since the start of the war on Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. on 7 October.

It also highlighted BDS' founding document which calls for the liberation of all Arab lands — including Paleostine — which Israel and many of its allies claim is antisemitic and incites violence against Israel.

BDS is a nonviolent mostly peaceful Paleostinian-led movement promoting boycotts of Israeli products, withdrawal of investments from Israel, and sanctions on the country, in response to Israel's continued occupation of the West Bank, war and siege on Gaza, and oppression of the Paleostinian people.

The group describes itself as "upholding the simple principle that Paleostinians are entitled to the same rights as the rest of humanity".

Classifying the group as "extremist" will allow German authorities to monitor the movement’s activists and recruit informants within the organization, media reports said.

Rafah Sitrep report from Times of Israel 19 June
..in Rafah. Unlike in other areas of Gaza, the terror group largely abandoned its posts, with very few operatives attempting to engage Israeli forces in close quarters...

According to military assessments, Hamas's Rafah Brigade was bolstered by terror operatives who fled from northern Gaza and other parts of the Strip as the IDF first operated there. This gave the Rafah Brigade, considered by the IDF as the weakest of Hamas's brigades, considerable time and manpower to prepare itself for the looming Israeli offensive in southern Gaza.

Still, as the IDF began its operation in Rafah, the military assessed that only 2,000 terror operatives remained in the city, meaning that many had fled with the estimated 1.2 million civilians to an Israeli-designated "humanitarian zone" further north...

"I estimate that to [achieve] our next objective, which is to finish up Shaboura and Tel Sultan... we want to demolish them entirely, it will take more or less a month, at this level of intensity,"

Hezbollah drone collects footage of Israel's Haifa port, airport and military sites
[NEWARAB] The Lebanese Hezbollah group published footage on Tuesday of the northern Israeli port city of Haifa and its environs as tensions rapidly increase following months of border conflict between the two enemies.

Hezbollah chief His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...>
said last November that his group had been flying surveillance drones over Haifa and the group has also sent attack drones into Israel in the last eight months.

The drone which took the footage, dubbed by Hezbollah 'Al-Hudhud' ("hoopoe") has been celebrated by the group's supporters as a major achievement.

What did the video show?

Flying at what appears to be low altitude, the nine-and-a-half-minute long video shows the airport and Haifa port and what Hezbollah-linked media said were "important" and "sensitive" military sites. Haifa is about 27 kilometres from the Lebanese border.

The video appeared to show a military industrial zone belonging to Rafael defence where Israel assembles its air defence systems such as the Iron Dome, David's Slingshot, and rocket engine depots, according to Hezbollah.

More facilities such as power stations, petrochemical refineries, Israeli Navy and civilian infrastructure are also shown.

Israel's war on Gaza has heightened tensions across the region, with Israeli forces and Lebanon's Hezbollah exchanging fire on a near-daily basis.

"Operational plans for an offensive in Lebanon were approved and validated" as commanders met for a situational assessment, the army said in a statement.

It came after Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz threatened Hezbollah's destruction in a "total war".
