Ohio sheriff fed up with crime stemming from border crisis calls for death penalty renewal
[FoxNews] An Ohio sheriff said he supported the renewal of the death penalty for certain crimes as the state is ravaged by nefarious activity stemming from the porous southern border in an interview with Fox News Digital.

Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones, drew a connection between President Biden's border policies and an uptick in mayhem from illegal immigrants, which he said cost his taxpayers $4 million to incarcerate them.

"I am angry," Jones said, adding he could go "on and on" about the destruction caused by illegal immigrants. "People are fed up, and we want something done. And I don't know that we can stand President Biden being here. And this is just a sample of what he's done. Lord, help us all."

Over the last three years, Jones said 1,000 illegal immigrants were thrown in his jail for committing 2,000 crimes, many violent in nature.

"We had one guy that was deported eight times. He was in my jail under eight different names, and that's what we know of," Jones told Fox News Digital. "He's here. He's committed murder while he's here. And we believe that this isn't the first time he's committed murder. And we've had people that have been hit with vehicles killed. We've had people that have been stabbed. So the crime is increasing."

The sheriff recounted a few incidents that haunted him. One incident was when an illegal immigrant took a 9-year-old off her bicycle and molested her. Another is about a paraplegic who was hit by an illegal immigrant, who fled the scene.

As for those who say that homegrown citizens also commit crimes, Jones responded, "I don't need any extra crime coming from other countries where they empty their prisons out."

The sheriff said he is currently teaching his county how to use guns to protect themselves from crime.

"What would happen if Biden was reelected? I believe our country is in danger. But I'm not the only one. The government believes that if we continue with this trajectory, that we're all in danger. We are training our civilians here how to protect themselves" he said.

The Butler sheriff added that he believed President Biden was actively blocking Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement from doing their jobs.

The White House announced last week long-awaited executive actions to stop illegal immigrants at the southern border claiming asylum if crossings reach a certain level – a move coming a few months before the November election. The order will temporarily suspend the entry of non-citizens across the southern border once the number of average border encounters exceeds 2,500 a day over seven days, officials said.

However, according to sources who spoke to Fox News, the first full day after the announcement of President Biden’s executive order restricting asylum for most illegal immigrants appeared to have no immediate impact on the massive number of migrants coming across the southern border.

Overall, there were roughly 5,600 CBP encounters on Wednesday, which includes the 4,000 illegal crossings and CBP One App releases at ports of entry.

Jones has previously called on state lawmakers to pass legislation allowing law enforcement to file felony charges against anyone in Ohio who is an illegal immigrant, similar to a controversial measure in Texas, according to Fox 19.

#1  We already have a death penalty, in our streets, our businesses, our homes, our schools. The problem is the people being executed have no appeal or due process. It's the killers who get all the protection for decades.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
A large crowd has protested in Armenia’s capital Yerevan against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

A large crowd protested in Armenia’s capital Yerevan on Sunday against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, led by a Christian holy man who announced the start of four days of rallies to seek to drive him from office.

Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan is seeking to tap into popular anger over military defeats and territorial concessions to Azerbaijan, but Pashinyan has so far withstood the pressure.

"For four days, we will stay in the streets and squares, and with our determination and will, we will achieve victory," said Galstanyan, who called on parliamentary factions to hold a special session on Tuesday to remove the government from power.

A live video stream on YouTube showed thousands of people rallying in the centre of Yerevan and then marching peacefully through the streets with music blaring. There were no reports of arrests or festivities.

After weeks of protests against Pashinyan appeared to be losing momentum, Galstanyan is attempting to bring matters to a head with demands for a change of power within days. He is calling for the appointment of a transitional government to "implement reconciliation", manage foreign relations and prepare for snap elections.

But Richard Giragosian, director of the Regional Studies Center in Yerevan, said the move smacked of desperation in the face of waning protest numbers. The archbishop’s campaign was hampered by a lack of political experience and the absence of a clear strategy or alternative vision, he said.

The demonstrations, as yet "do not pose any real challenge to the government. The only danger of escalation is from a possible over-reaction by the security forces," Giragosian told Rooters.

Pashinyan is a former journalist who came to power after a wave of street protests in 2018. He came under heavy domestic pressure in 2020 after major losses to Azerbaijan in the second war the two countries had fought in three decades.

Last year Azerbaijan followed up with a lightning offensive to take back its Karabakh region, prompting an exodus of 100,000 ethnic Armenians who had enjoyed de facto independence there for three decades.

Pashinyan has criticised Russia for not intervening with its peacekeeping force in the region to stop Azerbaijani forces from retaking Karabakh.

He has publicly questioned Armenia’s traditional alliance with Moscow and started to forge closer ties with the West. A senior US official, Assistant Secretary of State James O’Brien, was due in Yerevan on Monday for talks on bilateral ties and moves towards a peace treaty with Azerbaijan.

The trigger for the latest demonstrations against Pashinyan was his decision to hand back four deserted border villages to Azerbaijan in May. Opponents called it a betrayal, but Pashinyan defended their return as a necessary step to avoid a further war that would end badly for Armenia.

Europe
Far-right scores big gains in the EU election in Germany
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Far-right parties made striking gains in European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
elections on Sunday, while the ultimate losers were French President Emmanuel Macron and the Greens.

Here are five takeaways from the vote which saw Europe’s centrist political groups emerge relatively unscathed and higher turnout than in 2019 among the bloc’s 27 states.

FAR RIGHT AHEAD
Europe’s far-right parties were winners in many places, coming out on top in La Belle France, Italia and Austria, while Germany’s AfD came second -- but still ahead of Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s SPD party -- and the hard-right also did well in the Netherlands.

But experts warned against reading too much into their success.

"The far right did well but not excellent -- let’s not forget these are second order elections," said La Belle Francesco Nicoli, a visiting fellow at Bruegel think tank.

"We cannot say that this is a very, very significant push as things stand," Christine Verger, vice chair of Jacques Delors think tank said. "There may be movements within the political groups. We don’t know where some MEPs will end up."

A big question being raised is whether two main far-right groups in the parliament -- Identity and Democracy (ID) and the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) -- can unite, creating a supergroup.

Verger dismissed that notion out of hand.

"I absolutely do not believe in a unification, it is out of the question for ID and ECR to merge," she told AFP.

The ECR includes Italian far-right prime minister Giorgia Meloni, whose Brothers of Italia party came top in the elections.

As to the far right’s likely impact on lawmaking in the European Parliament, experts appeared sanguine.

"The rising number of far right MEPs will likely have only a limited impact on the EU," predicted expert Marta Lorimer. "They do not form a blocking minority."

WEAKER MACRON
The biggest single loser of the elections was Macron after his liberal party received a drubbing by La Belle France’s National Rally led by Marine Le Pen.

The French president responded by swiftly dissolving La Belle France’s national parliament and calling for snap elections.

"La Belle France remains a large country with a president who has a lot of power," Verger said.

As the head of a major EU member state, Macron will remain an important player on the European stage.

But she said the poor election performance of his Renaissance party would see it "lose some influence" within the Renew grouping that it belongs to, and the parliament in general.

RETURN OF VON DER LEYEN
Analysts agreed it was a pretty good night for European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who hopes to secure a second five-year mandate after the vote.

She will need the support of both the EU’s 27 leaders and the new parliament -- and in the latter respect the data suggests von der Leyen can breathe a sigh of relief.

Her party, the European People’s Party (EPP), remains the parliament’s biggest grouping and experts predicted she would be able to get the extra votes she needs.

Based on preliminary results, Nicoli said she could rely on the support of the Socialists and Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
"with a choice between liberals, ECR and Greens as junior partner" -- and could deal with 20 defections or more in each scenario.

"I think the elections could have been worse for her."

WILTING GREENS
It was a disappointing night for the Greens political group, which is on course to lose around 20 EU politicians -- in a result that came as little surprise.

"Greens are the clear losers, and so is Macron, but again these were trends clearly evident before," Nicoli said.

European concerns about security and the cost of living following the outbreak of war in Ukraine in 2022, and other issues including migration, displaced the environement as a voter concern.

"The Greens have not been very well placed to answer those demands," Nicoli added.

And all across Europe, right-wing opponents have successfully channelled discontent into anger at the EU’s environmental push of recent years.

But Greens’ EU politician Bas Eickhout saw the results as a "mixed bag" -- and "a bit more nuanced than just saying it’s a big loss".

He pointed to the Greens’ success in the Netherlands and Spain as well as smaller countries in the north and Baltics, including Denmark and Lithuania.

HIGHER TURNOUT
Around 360 million people could vote in the elections and in welcome news, turnout was the highest in 20 years at around 51 percent, according to provisional EU data.

"The good news for democracy is that the turnout looks likely to be above half of the electorate, although that is still below participation rates for national elections, and very low in countries such as Slovakia and Lithuania," said Heather Grabbe, a senior fellow at Bruegel.

#9  Re "far-right":

The only relevant and fundamental policy dispute between the AFD and the others is revolutionary suicide in the name of the climate, which the AFD still opposes.

With regard to all other issues there's a strong overlap between the established political class consensus position and the de facto AFD platform.

Macron Trounced by Le Pen's Populists at EuroParl Elections, Immediately Dissolves Parliament for Snap National Election
[Breitbart] "Mommy!"
Le Pen’s populist-nationalist party got twice as many votes as the governing group of Emmanuel Macron’s globalist centrists in Sunday’s European Parliament election, prompting Macron to immediately dissolve the national parliament and call fresh French elections in a bid to regain authority for the remainder of his presidential term.

Update 2215 BST: Le Pen speaks

Shortly after President Macron announced he was calling fresh elections to buttress his position, National Rally (RN, Rassemblement National) leader Marine Le Pen took to the stage at her group’s election night party in Paris and declared their readiness to fight the snap election.

Hailing the progress of right-wing parties across Europe as the “dawn of a new day dawning for all the nations and peoples of Europe” and expressing her hope the result would finally comprehensively close “the painful globalist interlude which has caused the people of the world to suffer” Le Pen said it also confirmed the RN as the “great force for change for France”.

As noted by Le Monde , RN gaining 31.5 per cent of the votes means Le Pen and Bardella have grabbed the best result for any French political party at the European elections in 40 years. And that’s before you even count the fact the right-populist vote was split to some degree by the running of a rival party co-led by Le Pen’s niece Marion Marechal Le Pen, who picked up a further five and a half per cent.

The original story continues below

Marine Le Pen’s National Rally (RN, Rassemblement National) party looks set to become the largest single party in the European Union after a spectacular result in Sunday’s elections for the European Parliament. Votes that began on Thursday across the European Union to choose the next Parliament finished Sunday evening, and exit polls suggest a strong showing for right wing parties, although perhaps short of the landslide across the continent some polling had suggested.

But there were strong national differences, and France was perhaps the most remarkable result of all. The European grouping for President Emmanuel Macron’s Renaissance party barely scraped second place in the Ipsos exit poll — by a fraction of a per cent — and was left in the dust of the first place RN. Le Pen’s RN, led by party colleague and Member of the European Parliament Jordan Bardella got over twice as many votes at 31.5 per cent of all cast compared to 14.7 per cent for Renaissance.

RN is predicted in the exit poll to pick up 30 seats in the European Parliament compared to Macron’s 14. This is a significant number, and assuming exit polls are broadly correct across Europe it would make Le Pen’s RN the largest single party in the European Parliament .

This hammer-blow to President Macron’s authority triggered an instant response on Sunday night, as he announced he was dissolving the national Parliament for a snap election later this month. Win that vote and Macron would claim a strong national mandate to continue to govern as President for the rest of his term. Lose that, however, and at best he would have to sit until April 2027 as a lame duck.

It’s a massive gamble, but Macron will have to hope the French people will treat elections for their important national parliament differently to their vote for the remote and less consequential European Parliament in Brussels. This effect was well demonstrated in the years when Britain was still a member of the European Union, and the Eurosceptic UKIP and then Brexit parties of Nigel Farage were major vote-winners for Brussels, but struggled to get a toe-hold for Westminster.

But Le Pen’s RN has momentum on its side, and with just 21 days to go until the first round of that snap election called tonight, Macron may have a hard time turning the narrative around. But he’s had a good try already, reports French broadsheet Le Figaro . Delivering the news in a speech on Sunday night, the President said: “I have decided to give you the choice of our parliamentary future again by voting… [this is a] serious, heavy decision, but above all it is an act of trust”, and saying he wants to “let the sovereign people speak”.

Right-Wing Tsunami: France "Stunned" After Macron Announces Snap Elections Following Crushing Defeat In European Parliament Vote

[ZERO] Following a historic loss to Marine Le Pen’s right-wing party in European elections on Sunday, French President Emmanuel Macron said he is dissolving the French parliament.

Macron said France will hold new elections on June 30 and July 7, a high-stakes maneuver that the WSJ said "stunned" the nation after projections based on early ballot counts came in for Sunday’s elections for the European Parliament. The projections showed National Rally garnering around 31% of the vote, twice the support for Macron’s Renew Party.

Fifth Column
Border Patrol memo reveals the shocking truth of what is REALLY happening with migrants despite...
[DailyMail, where America gets its news] …Biden's executive order
  • Border agents in San Diego were told to let certain groups of migrants walk

  • The memo undermines the strength of President Biden's recent executive order

An internal memo circulated among Border Patrol agents instructs those in the San Diego sector to release single adults from all but six countries into the US.

The memo, obtained by the Washington Examiner, was disseminated following President Joe Biden's executive order that theoretically attempts to ban most illegal immigrants from using the asylum claim went into effect last week.

Anna Giaritelli, who first reported on the memo's details, said the document instructed officials to process all single adults from the Eastern Hemisphere via a process called Notice to Appear/released on Own Recognizance, except for those from six select countries - Russia, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Moldova, and Kyrgyzstan.
All former Soviet Union…
Citizens from all other nations in the Eastern Hemisphere, outside of those half-dozen, attempting to illegally cross the US border into the San Diego sector, will be released freely into the country, according to the memo.

That order, CBP officials say, will take some time to implement. The agency, along with the whole of DHS are still engaging with uncooperative countries in the Eastern Hemisphere, some of which refuse to take their citizens back when the US attempts to deport them.

Fox News' Bill Melugin reported that the shocking memo applies only to the San Diego sector because of the specific range of citizenries agents encounter there.

CBP officials said even if the Eastern Hemisphere migrants are released into the country with essentially no strings attached to their releases, they will not be eligible for asylum.

Last week, DHS officials also acknowledged that it is difficult to remove illegal migrants from some Eastern Hemisphere countries - but they are actively attempting to pursue cooperation with some, including China.

There are a significant number of countries the US has identified as unwilling to cooperate with the US deportation system, and will refuse to accept flights filled with their citizens who have been sent back.
President Trump got them to self-deport, so how hard can it be?
While the San Diego sector of the US-Mexico border receives a large portion of illegal guests from uncooperative Eastern Hemisphere nations, most of the illegal entrants still hail from Western Hemisphere countries that cooperate with US-led expedited removal plans.

But until those select Eastern Hemisphere countries find reason to cooperate, officials say there is little the executive order will do to help expel illegal migrants from that specific corner of the globe.

San Diego, like other big border towns, receives hundreds, if not thousands, of migrants each day. Pictures and videos convey the constant stream of migrants being dropped off at commuter stations in the southern California city.

Biden's much-touted executive order will suspend, temporarily, the entry of illegal migrants across the southern border only after the number of average border encounters in a day hits 2,500 for seven days in a row.

DHS and DOJ have simultaneously rolled out increased standards for asylum claims.

US official: Successful rescue operation complicates efforts to reach a deal
[IsraelNationalNews] US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is scheduled to arrive in Israel on Monday afternoon where he will meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Opposition Leader Yair Lapid, and President Isaac Herzog.

Blinken is expected to pressure the Israeli officials to accept the proposed ceasefire and hostage deal that President Biden presented at the end of last month.

A senior Biden administration official told NBC News overnight that Israel's operation which rescued four hostages on Saturday is likely to complicate the Secretary of State's efforts to reach such a deal.
And that, in one sentence, explains why USA - which used to be a sole superpower - is on it's way to becoming Mexico Norte.

#5  Biden and Blinken are grasping at straws at this point. They want something to wave before the election like Neville Chamberlain did.

#7  Let me get this straight. An American soldier, would be expected to defend Saudi Arabia with his life if needed, so that Joe Biden could use this as a tool to get Israel to accept an independent Palestinian State composed of their enemies, to give Biden political leverage in the upcoming reelection? Exactly where in this would he be defending America as a patriotic duty and not being used as a cheap mercenary whose life is rented for political gain?

#8  If it's actually a "treaty," good luck getting 2/3 of the senate to vote for it. If it's an "executive agreement," good luck enforcing it at all.

#10

Ok I understand the Mega $bucks$ involved and the likelihood some $$M will find it way back in the O'Biden Admin pockets.

But it puts the USA on the hook defending yet another nation. While Russia and China are our biggest threats besides the O'Biden Admin itself and it Open Borders.

Will there be a USA come Jan 20, 2025, for Trump defend and secure, at this rate?

Besides Islam and the Jewish religions have been and always will be at war, or hidden / terrorist conflict status.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Is all-out Israel-Hezbollah war inevitable?
[NAHARNET] Israeli leaders have increased their warnings to Hezbollah as cross-border violence escalates by the day, but experts believe that the risk of all-out war remains limited.

- Is the violence intensifying? -

Hezbollah says it is fighting in support of its ally Hamas
..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
, which is battling Israel in an eight-month-old war in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip triggered by the Paleostinian group's unprecedented October 7 attack on southern Israel.

The Iran-backed Hezbollah has made intensive use of drones in recent days to attack Israeli military positions, triggering significant forest fires in northern Israel.

On Thursday evening, Hezbollah used anti-aircraft missiles against Israeli warplanes for the first time.

"There has been a real escalation in recent weeks, with a much higher number of rocket launches," said Michael Horowitz, a geopolitical analyst for Le Beck International, a Middle East-based security consultancy, adding that the number had tripled in May compared with January.

"Hezbollah is also making use of effective new weapons, notably 'kamikaze' drones, while expanding its operational area to new towns," Horowitz said.

Israel has intensified its strikes targeting Hezbollah inside Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
, both close to the border and in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon where Hezbollah has a network of bases and tunnels.

After eight months of violence there have been at least 455 people killed in Lebanon, including around 90 civilians and nearly 300 Hezbollah fighters, more than the losses it suffered during its last war with Israel in 2006.

On the Israeli side, at least 15 soldiers and 11 civilians have been killed, according to Israeli authorities.

#1  Of course the war is evitable. IDF just need to drop a few big bombs - kill a 100000 of the vermin in a hour.

#6  All Hezbollah need do to prevent it is move north of the river, away from the Israeli border, leaving their 150.000+ rockets and missiles behind…
