MIT Drops Thought Control
[NYPOST] The Massachusetts Institute of Technology ending "the use of diversity statements for faculty hiring... is momentous," cheers John Sailer at UnHerd.

Such mandatory statements force would-be hires to endorse the pernicious DEI agenda; "pushback" against them had so far "succeeded almost exclusively at public universities in red states, encouraged or enacted by politicians."

But "the decision at MIT is different — reform from within, prompted by a university president alongside deans and provosts."

"It’s very possible that more private universities, and state universities in blue states, will eventually follow MIT’s lead," since "a significant number of faculty from across the political spectrum simply cannot stand mandatory DEI statements."

"It’s more than a narrow issue of free expression and compelled speech. Diversity statements... create a uniquely bad orthodoxy, one that is corrosive to civic life and inimical to true higher education."

They've know the 'DEI' brand has been toxic for over a year now. In Tinsel Town they've tried adding 'J for Justice' to make your...JEDI Rating. Uggh. Obviously there are difficulties in doing this rebrand.

Maybe, add 'L for Liberty' to make a DELI rating LOL.

So yes, they are trying to metamorphosize the branding. Transmorgification if you will. Team Segregation, fk ya!

Japanese Corp Says DOJ Requested a Delay on Purchase of U.S. Steel, Insists It Has Nothing to Do with 2024 Election
[Breitbart] Nippon Steel said Friday it has postponed the expected closing of its $14.1 billion takeover of U.S. Steel by three months after the U.S. Department of Justice requested more documentation related to the deal.

Tokyo-based Nippon Steel Corp. said the deal, already approved by U.S. Steel’s shareholders, is still expected to go through.

“Nippon Steel will continue to fully cooperate with the examination of the relevant authorities,” it said in a statement.

The sale has drawn opposition from President Joe Biden’s administration on economic and national security grounds, and from former President Donald Trump, the likely Republican presidential candidate in November’s election.

The new timing could push the closing beyond the election, but Nippon Steel denied the delay was related to that.

Initially the deal was supposed to have closed by September. Now it will close by December, meaning it could still close as early as September, according to a company spokesperson, who requested the anonymity customary at Japanese companies.

More than 98% of the Pittsburgh-based U.S. Steel Corp. shares voted at a special investor meeting in April approved the takeover. Nippon Steel has said it has prepared adequate financing to go through with the deal.

First announced in December last year, the merger of U.S. Steel into Nippon Steel has raised concerns about what that might mean for unionized workers, supply chains and U.S. national security.

The United Steelworkers union has opposed the acquisition.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida met Biden last month. But there was no indication the topic came up in the summit.

When Biden visited the Pittsburgh headquarters of United Steelworkers recently, he reiterated his opposition to the Nippon Steel purchase, stressing U.S. Steel “has been an iconic American company for more than a century and it should remain totally American.”

The U.S. steel industry has declined over the decades as global steel production came to be dominated initially by Japan, and more recently by China. Under the deal, U.S. Steel will keep its name and its headquarters in Pittsburgh, where it was founded in 1901.

‘Despicable': Facebook Censors RFK Jr. Campaign Video, Calls It a ‘Mistake'
[CHD] The super PAC supporting Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for president said it plans to sue Meta, the owner of Facebook and Instagram, for the company’s "blatant censorship" of a new film about Kennedy and his work challenging corporate corruption.

The super PAC supporting Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for president said it plans to sue Meta, the owner of Facebook and Instagram, for the company’s "blatant censorship" of a new film about Kennedy and his work challenging corporate corruption.

Super PACs, or "political action committees," can raise unlimited sums of money to advocate for or against political candidates, according to OpenSecrets.org.

Actor Woody Harrelson narrates the 30-minute biographical film, "Who is Bobby Kennedy?," which details Kennedy’s life and why he’s running for president.

American Values 2024, the super PAC, bought the film after the creator of Apple TV+’s "The Morning Show" Jay Carson and director Mike Piscitelli produced it.

DHS Shuts Down Expert Group That Denied Hunter Biden Laptop Story
[ZH] The Biden administration has agreed to shut down a national security experts’ group as part of settling a lawsuit accusing the group of being politically biased in favor of Democrats.

On Sept. 19, 2023, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) launched the Homeland Intelligence Experts Group to provide advice on intelligence and national security efforts. In November, America First Legal (AFL) and former Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell sued the DHS, the group, and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, arguing that the experts group violated provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA).

Section 5 of FACA requires that an advisory committee be "fairly balanced in terms of the points of view." It also mandates there be provisions to ensure that "the advice and recommendations of the advisory committee will not be inappropriately influenced by the appointing authority or by any special interest."

The lawsuit noted that "the Experts Group’s members are political allies of the Biden Administration. Most members have applauded the Administration’s decisions and fervidly condemned former President Trump’s America First approach to foreign policy."

"They have overwhelmingly donated to President Biden or other Democrats. Defendant Mayorkas selected members that are agreeable, not balanced," it stated.

Some of the members were also signatories of a letter that dismissed the Hunter Biden laptop story as Russian disinformation.

On May 2, plaintiffs and the defendants in the case agreed to settle the matter, with the DHS agreeing to wind up the experts group in 30 days.

The group "will not hold any future meetings, and the Department will not reconstitute the Experts Group inconsistent with the FACA or the Homeland Security Act of 2002," the joint notice of the agreement stated.

The DHS agreed to provide AFL with the group’s meeting agendas and minutes, which have to be submitted within 15 days. "Based on these representations, Plaintiffs have agreed to dismiss their lawsuit with prejudice."

The department did not admit any wrongdoing and maintained its position that the group did not violate FACA.

"Thanks to the courage of Ric Grenell in standing up to the Deep State, we have just achieved an unqualified legal victory over Mayorkas and Biden. As a result of our lawsuit in federal court, DHS is surrendering in total to our demands," said Stephen Miller, president of America First Legal.

The "partisan" experts group "would have been used to promote censored, unethical spying, and gross civil rights invasions of political enemies," he added.

Mr. Grenell said that DHS "surrendered" on the issue because they knew AFL was in the right and that "Biden’s team broke the law."

This is the second time that the Biden administration has agreed to disband an advisory group due to violating FACA provisions. In December 2022, the Department of Education disbanded its National Parents and Families Engagement Council after legal action brought by AFL and its clients.
Partisan Committee

When the DHS experts group was first announced, the panel comprised seventeen members. In its lawsuit, AFL stated that these members "do not represent a fair balance of viewpoints."

Two of the panel members were John Brennan, a former director of the CIA, and James Clapper, former director of national intelligence. Both of them were signatories of the "Letter of 51," using their intelligence credentials to outrightly dismiss the Hunter Biden laptop story ahead of the 2020 election.

Despite the FBI having validated the authenticity of the laptop, the letter claimed that the story had "all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation."

Another panel member, Tashina Gauhar, a former associate deputy attorney general and deputy assistant attorney general, is linked to the 2016 Trump—Russia collusion probe.

She was "extensively involved in the FBI’s corrupt, partisan probe into the baseless allegations that former President Trump’s campaign colluded with Russia before the 2016 election, including drafting the FISA applications that were used to spy on the Trump campaign," the lawsuit noted.

Out of the 17 panel members, 13 have a history of political contributions, collectively making 945 contributions to candidates for political office that are reportable to the Federal Election Commission.

"Of those 945 contributions, 932 (98.62 percent) were made to Democrat candidates for office, while only 12 (1.27 percent) were made to Republican candidates for office," the lawsuit stated.

"Of the 13 contributors, 9 contributed only to Democrats, whereas 1 contributed only to a Republican (with a single donation of $250). Three contributed to members of both parties, but of those, 2 were heavily lopsided in favor of Democrat candidates. The other contributor gave 8 contributions to Democrat candidates and 7 to Republican candidates."

In total, the political contributions made by the panel members came to over $168,000 since January 2012, out of which more than $156,000 went to Democrat candidates.

On Sept. 29 after the DHS announced the experts group, GOP lawmakers had written a letter to Mr. Mayorkas, asking him to rescind appointments of people like Mr. Clapper and Mr. Brennan as they were "individuals known to spread lies and disinformation."

A few days earlier on Sept. 26, Rep. August Pfluger (R-Tex.) introduced HR 5729 which sought to "prohibit the use of Federal funds to establish a Homeland Intelligence Experts Group and for other purposes."

Trump says DOJ indicted Rep. Cuellar over border critiques of Biden: 'Take him out!'
[NYPOST] Former President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
claimed over the weekend that the Justice Department indicted Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar
...Dem representative for Texas' 28th congressional district, serving since 2005. He was a professor at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) in Laredo. He has positioned himself as a strong advocate for education. Prior to being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives he was a member of the Texas House 1987 to 2001....
over his criticism of President Biden’s handling of the ongoing border crisis.

"Biden just Indicted Henry Cuellar because the Respected Democrat Congressman wouldn’t play Crooked Joe’s Open Border game," Trump, 77, asserted on Truth Social Sunday night.

"He was for Border Control, so they said, ’Let’s use the FBI and DOJ to take him out!’ This is the way they operate," the former president claimed.

"They’re a bunch of D.C. Thugs, and at some point they will be paying a very big price for what they have done to our Country. CROOKED JOE BIDEN IS A THREAT TO DEMOCRACY!"

Trump has ramped up his criticisms of the migrant crisis under Biden, 81, as public polling shows illegal immigration is a top concern for American voters in the 2024 election.

Federal prosecutors indicted Cuellar (D-Texas) and his wife, Imelda, in Houston on Friday for allegedly accepting $600,000 in bribes between 2014 and 2021 from Socar, Azerbaijan’s state-owned oil and gas firm, and a Mexican bank.

Irreconcilable Differences: Johnson on Brink of Permanent Power Sharing Agreement with Democrats as MTG, Massie Meeting Fails to Produce Accord with Republicans
[Breitbart] Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) failed to concede to Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY) after a two-hour meeting Monday in which the duo continued pressing for Johnson to resign and end his coalition government with Democrats.

Greene told reporters after the meeting that she and Massie “had a very long discussion with Speaker Johnson. We’ll be meeting with him again tomorrow based on the discussion and then I’ll have more information.”

The two conservative lawmakers have insisted that Johnson is compromised and will not be Speaker next Congress. They called for him to step down so Republicans can begin moving forward, arguing Johnson’s unofficial lame duck status will hurt Republicans as they fundraise and campaign for November’s elections.

“I have been patient, I have been diligent. I have been steady. And I’ve been focused on the facts,” Greene said. “And none of that has changed.”

The meeting came one day after House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) bragged on CBS about controlling the House floor agenda — a characterization many conservatives agree with.

“Even though we’re in the minority, we effectively have been governing as if we were in the majority because we continue to provide a majority of the votes necessary to get things done,” he said. “Those are just the facts.”

Conservatives insist Johnson has capitulated to Democrats repeatedly, essentially forming a coalition government with Democrats by surrendering leverage on fighting President Joe Biden’s agenda and securing the border.

In what Massie has labeled Johnson’s “three betrayals,” Johnson ended the work to pass each of the 12 individual appropriations bills and passed a two-part omnibus bill overwhelmingly supported by Democrats, rammed through a reauthorization of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) after casting the deciding vote to kill a warrant requirement for spying on Americans, and carried out a scheme to unlock tens of billions in Ukraine aid despite promising not to do so without addressing the border crisis

Johnson said after the meeting that he “understand[s] the frustration. I share it. I would really like to advance much more of our conservative policy on a daily basis here. But, the reality is we are working with the smallest majority in U.S. history with a one vote margin.”

He said his goal is to “keep advancing the ball, to get the next first down, to put points on the board and then, and get to November.”

Greene and Massie did not share what time they would meet with Johnson on Tuesday morning, but Greene could call for a vote on her motion at any time.

The House would then have two legislative days to hold a vote, although Johnson is expected to hold a vote to table the motion before the two legislative days expire, perhaps immediately after Greene makes her move.

Jeffries and his Democrat leadership have promised to save Johnson by voting to table the motion to vacate.

Hochul sorry over claim 'Black kids in Bronx' don't know word computer
[DM] Governor Kathy Hochul was forced to apologize after making a controversial claim that 'young Black kids growing up in the Bronx who don't even know what the word "computer" is'.

The New York Democrat claims she 'misspoke' when she issued the highly criticized remark at an on-stage forum in California on Monday and, in a statement later that evening, said: 'I regret it.'

She attempted to clarify the intent of her remark, alleging she was trying to highlight her focus on increasing economic opportunity for children in the Bronx, which has the highest rate of poverty in New York City.

'Of course Black children in the Bronx know what computers are,' Hochul's statement said. 'The problem is that they too often lack access to the technology needed to get on track to high-paying jobs in emerging industries like AI.'

The problem is not lack of access technology. The problem is being unable to read, write and do arithmetic.

It is amusing that the mob is going after a Dem governor for an unartful rhetorical flourish, but sad that no one seems to notice the low graduation rates or number of kids performing below grade level in our big city schools.

Former Biden DOJ Official Prosecuting Trump Received Thousands Of Dollars From DNC
[DC] Could this get any worse for Bragg?
The lead prosecutor for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case against former President Donald Trump received thousands of dollars from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) in 2018, Federal Election Commission (FEC) records show.

Matthew Colangelo, who was President Joe Biden’s acting associate attorney general and spent two years in the current president’s Department of Justice (DOJ), joined the Manhattan District Attorney’s office as senior counsel in December 2022. The lawyer received $12,000 from the DNC in 2018 for "political consulting" in two payments of $6,000 on Jan. 31 of that year, FEC records show. (RELATED: Judge Imposing Double Standard By Gagging Trump But Giving Michael Cohen Free Rein, Legal Experts Say)

Fox News Digital first reported the payments to Colangelo from the DNC.

Trump is unable to speak about Colangelo as Judge Juan Merchan imposed a gag order on him that prevents the former president from speaking about prosecutors on the case besides Bragg.

Colangelo was appointed in 2022 while Bragg was still investigating Trump in relation to a $130,000 payment made to porn star Stormy Daniels to keep her silent regarding an alleged affair. He delivered opening statements for the prosecution in April, arguing that Trump falsified business documents corresponding to the payment as part of a broader initiative to "corrupt the 2016 election."

"It was election fraud, pure and simple," Colangelo said.

Trump has consistently characterized the case as "election interference," referencing it as a "Biden witch hunt" and the "Biden Case."

House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan sent a letter Tuesday to Attorney General Merrick Garland regarding Colangelo, requesting documents and communications from his tenure at the DOJ. Jordan demanded personnel files pertaining to Colangelo’s hiring, employment and termination at the DOJ, as well as records and correspondences related to Trump or his organization.

“Bragg is engaged in one such politicized prosecution, which is being led in part by Matthew B. Colangelo, a former senior Justice Department official. Accordingly, given the perception that the Justice Department is assisting in Bragg’s politicized prosecution, we write to request information and documents related to Mr. Colangelo’s employment,” Jordan wrote.

While at the New York District Attorney’s office, Colangelo led the probe into the Trump Foundation, which resulted in its dissolution, as well as leading the investigation that eventually became Trump’s civil fraud case, according to The New York Times.

The DNC and Bragg did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

[NYPOST] Former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan urged his fellow Republicans to vote against the party’s presumptive presidential standard bearer Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
and back President Biden instead.

Duncan, 49, who was in office during Trump’s 2020 election machinations in the Peach State, voiced his deep dismay at top Republicans coalescing around Trump, 77.

"This mentality is dead wrong," he wrote in an op-ed for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Monday. "GOP will never rebuild until we move on from the Trump era, leaving conservative (but not angry) Republicans like me no choice but to pull the lever for Biden."

The former lieutenant governor stressed his desire to see the GOP lock down majorities in both chambers of Congress to scuttle Biden’s second-term agenda.

He then rattled through familiar grievances with Trump such as the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot, election denialism, as well as his "conduct and his character."

#1

It is clear given GA's shady handling and cover up of the 2020 election abuses, many are slated for Reidsville or Leavenworth, if Trump comes to office and an honest non-political court system is restored.

Faith in Biden's handling of economy below Trump, Obama during their terms: poll
[NYPOST] Public confidence in President Biden’s stewardship of the economy is hovering below each of his two immediate predecessors as faith in politicians on the issue has slipped across the board, according to a new survey.

Just 38% of Americans told Gallup they had a great deal or fair amount of confidence in Biden, 81, to do or recommend the right course of action on the economy.

While that figure is a slight uptick from the 35% who said last year they had confidence in Biden on the economy, it’s still the third-lowest reading in the poll dating back to 2001.

Only George W. Bush scored lower, with just 34% saying they trusted him with the economy in 2008, at the height of the Great Recession.

Confidence in Biden on the economy plummeted from a high of 57% in 2021, his first year in office, to 40% in 2022 before sinking another five points the following year.

#1  38% like this economy. Maybe that’s the percentage of government workers now.

#2  Unfortunately, that's the 38% that is in control.

Bernie Sanders, 82, announces Senate re-election bid
[NYPOST] Sen. Bernie Sanders
...The only first openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords. He ran for the 2016 nomination for president, to be cheated out of it by Hillary Clinton, then went back to being an Independent socialist, waiting for 2020 to roll around...
(I-Vt.), 82, the second-oldest member of the Senate, announced Monday that he will pursue a fourth term.

"This is the most important national election election in our lifetimes," Sanders declared in a video statement. "We must fight to make sure that we remain a democracy, not an authoritarian society."

"The stakes are enormous," he added. "This is an election we must not lose."

Sanders will be heavily favored to win re-election in deep-blue Vermont, which has not elected a Republican senator since Jim Jeffords in 1988. (Jeffords left the GOP in 2001 and served out his remaining term as an independent who caucused with the Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...

The last Green Mountain State senator to remain a Republican through their entire term was Robert Stafford, who served more than 17 years before retiring after the 1988 election.

Only Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), 90, is older than Sanders, who will turn 83 on Sept. 8.

Sanders eschewed mention of age in his announcement and instead ticked through his track record of championing progressive causes across health care, housing, taxation and more while insisting there is still more work to be done.

"We must fight to make sure that we have a government which represents the working families of our country, not the billionaire class and wealthy campaign contributors," he said.

The self-described "democratic socialist" is rated as the most liberal member of the Senate, according to GovTrack. A two-time presidential candidate, Sanders chairs the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions and has championed lefty wish-list items such as free college and a four-day work week.

Sanders was first elected to the Senate in 2006, succeeding Jeffords after 16 years in the House of Representatives.

#1  "...while insisting there is still more work to be done." This is Bernie. He is a grifter. He is not as demonic as Leahy. Welch is cut from the same cloth as Sanders and Leahy. Demons all.
