| Kenyan planes bombard Somali military bases inside Somalia |

| [Shabelle] it has been reported by residents of Berhane that the Kenyan war planes last night bombarded military bases in the lower Juba region of Somalia. Col Abshir Abdi Hashi who is among the officials in Berhane confirmed with Shabelle radio station in Mogadishu that the planes specifically targeted SNM bases in the region a town situated 60 km from Kismayu. The colonel said that the military bases were destroyed completely by the planes and some of his soldiers got injured during the bombardment. The colonel added that the bombardments caused civilian casualties and destroyed many properties. Mr. Abshir said that the Kenyans used special bombs designed in the UK against the SNM forces. Mr. Abshir finally said that the Kenyans are invading Somalia and are using Alshabab as a scapegoat to launch attacks on Somali civilians and SNM troops. This comes as the Kenyan troops actively took part in the Kismayu fighting as they sided with the Raskamboni militia of Ahmed Madobe. Ahmed Madobe who was a top leader in The Islamists fighting in Somalia declared himself the president of Jubaland and is now in control of Somalia's second largest city with the help of Kenyan forces. The Kenyan forces have been accused of committing atrocities in the Juba regions and the federal government has called for the replacements of more neutral ones. |
