No matter what they decide, Gaza has proved that there is no two-state solution that Israel can live with. Gaza was independent, completely self-ruling since Hamas was elected in 2007, and 10/7 is the result after a series of slightly less serious, considerably shorter wars. So if forced to sign off on it, Israel will end up having to reconquer the West Bank as well as Gaza — and then the Palestinians will have proved that they cannot be allowed to remain there at all.
