[Regnum] The Taliban movement (under UN sanctions for terrorist activity) expressed approval of legal procedures to suspend the ban on activities in Russia. This was stated on April 1 by the official representative of the Taliban government Zabihullah Mujahid.
“We believe that all actions in this area aimed at strengthening relations between Afghanistan and Russia are a good step,” he said in an interview with TASS.
It is noted that such measures will be able to strengthen bilateral ties between Russia and Afghanistan, as well as the peoples of these states.
The day before, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office asked the Supreme Court to suspend the ban on the Taliban. The hearing of this application was scheduled for April 17. In Russia, this movement has been considered a terrorist organization since 2003.
