[Twitchy] Earlier we told you about a federal judge blocking Trump's trans military ban. This is just another example of a federal judge blocking Trump's executive orders way overreaching their jurisdiction. Today, Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida offered a suggestion to this very pressing issue.
Ron DeSantis @RonDeSantis Congress has the authority to strip jurisdiction of the federal courts to decide these cases in the first place. The sabotaging of President Trump’s agenda by “resistance” judges was predictable — why no jurisdiction-stripping bills tee’d up at the onset of this Congress? | #1 IANAL but the historical evidence shows that the US Congress can ABOLISH a federal court below the level of the USSC by a simple majority vote. This they did in 1863 and there was no big deal about it. This has nothing to do with impeachment either. The widespread ignorance about this fact and the silence of the legal profession online are both rather amazing at this point in time. |
