[Regnum] Russian President Vladimir Putin has awarded the rank of admiral to Black Sea Fleet Commander Sergei Pinchuk. The corresponding decree was published on the legal acts portal on February 21.
“To award the military rank of <…> Admiral to Sergei Mikhailovich Pinchuk,” the decree states.
By the same decree, Stanislav Gadzimagomedov, Andrei Ivanaev, Vladimir Kravchenko, and Valery Solodchuk were awarded the rank of Colonel General.
In October 2021, Sergei Pinchuk was appointed Chief of Staff - First Deputy Commander of the Black Sea Fleet. After the start of the special operation, the European Union imposed personal sanctions against him. On February 15, 2024, Pinchuk was appointed Acting Commander of the Black Sea Fleet.
As reported by Regnum News Agency, on April 2, 2024, President Putin appointed Pinchuk as commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Admiral Alexander Moiseyev was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy.
