FEMA sent $59M LAST WEEK to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants

#11  From what I’ve read, that double price isn’t nearly enough to pay for necessary repairs, though that may just be whining. But I would believe it — I knew a man who specialized in Section 8 apartment buildings, and each time he acquired a new property he proactively went through it replacing drywall with cement board, hollow core doors with solid slab or steel, and simple but very sturdy appliances and fixtures. The upfront investment paid out in significantly reduced repairs down the line, he said. None of that sturdiness would be in place in luxury hotels, whose normal clientele respond very differently to their environment.

#10  Important distinction, if true.

It's not implausible. The hotel gets a little extra for wear & tear and de-lousing, and somewho gets a little kickback. It is a win-win!

Certainly not more implausible than illegal immigrants being housed in a luxo hotel in the first place. And by FEMA, no less!

#9  One of the things I heard second hand:

It wasn't so much the hotels were asking twice the price, but that twice the price was offered.

Important distinction, if true.

#7  What a novel foreign agent recruitment method. Shi*loads of USD, a "Room With A View", laundry service, and 3 meals per day. They arrive in USAID sneakers, they leave in tailored clothing and Edmond Allen's Park Avenue Oxfords.

#6  Didn’t FEMA reps tell Congress that this wasn’t happening?

Let's see if I understand this quickly?
Just to quickly name 2 incidents.

* FEMA avoided doing its job for homes with TRUMP Signs, and/or known Republican registered victims.

* FEMA avoided helping Western North Carolina and arrested those doing themselves or help others.

But has no issues spending $59M a week to house persons, in style, that deliberately violated US Laws for personal gain?

Could it have something to do with the bias application of Social politics and not emergency disaster recovery?

#4  Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President’s executive order.

That's sorta the way I see it. Likely the way tens of millions of US taxpayers see it as well.
