Trump sending Israel thousands of 2,000-pound bombs despite cease-fire: report
2025-01-26
[NY Post] President Trump greenlit the delivery of thousands of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel, according to a report.
For Hamas, for Hezbollah, for the Houthis, for Iran — so many possibilities!
As many as 1,800 MK-84 bombs will be shipped off to the Jewish state in the coming days — reversing a Biden administration hold on the explosive supply, Israeli officials told Axios.

The Israeli government was reportedly notified by the Pentagon about the release on Friday, the day before Hamas released four hostages as part of the cease-fire agreement.

The massive bombs were held in storage since May, when Biden decided to hold off on a delivery out of concern Israel would cause significant civilian devastation by unleashing the weapons in densely populated areas of Gaza.

The US previously delivered more than 10,000 of the bombs — known as "bunker busters" because they can reach deep underground before detonating — to Israel during the war.

The halt caused a major strain on the US’s relationship with Israel.

The news comes just days after outgoing Israeli ambassador to the United States Mike Herzog revealed he expected Trump to reverse the ban within his first few days in office.

"We believe that Trump is going to release, at the beginning of his term, the munitions that haven’t been released until now by the Biden administration," Herzog said.

#6  IIUC, we give $4 billion or so to Israel each year in foreign aid. Israel can only use that money to buy American weapons.

#5  And, post-Biden, they're looking at alternative sources - domestic and other - for delivery dependability

I guess the underlying question being asked is.

Is keeping IRAN and its terrorist units at bay to protect our national security in better shape and about 21% of our oil usage secure? Instead of having a IRAN controlled Middle-East and Indian Ocean area?

I think very much so, UNLIKE pumping $$$'s of Billions into Ukraine.

How about dropping a few in Tehran.
