Kalashnikov to Present Super-Maneuverable Guided Swarm Munitions in Abu Dhabi for the First Time
Kalashnikov Concern will present a new reconnaissance and strike system with guided munitions, the KUB-SM (SM stands for super-maneuverable), at the IDEX 2025 international conference and arms exhibition, which will be held in Abu Dhabi (UAE) from 17 to 21 February 2025.
The system includes both guided munitions (UB) in transport and launch containers (TPK, 14 in total) and a reconnaissance relay aircraft based on an unmanned aerial vehicle (BLA-R) in a TPK (2 in total). Both types of aircraft are launched alternately from a launcher located in an armored combat vehicle. The drones take off gas-dynamically from the TPK.
The guided munition delivers a multifactor warhead by the UB carrier to the target for its destruction. The BLA-R performs surveillance and reconnaissance of the area, as well as relaying information from the UB to the ground control station and back.
The combat armored vehicle provides accommodation for the combat crew, one UB and BLA-R ammunition set, equipment for preparing and using the ammunition set, as well as their movement on the march, when moving to a firing position and back.
The complex is designed to conduct mobile combat operations and destroy unarmored and lightly armored military equipment, elements of command posts of divisions, battalions, batteries, battalions of anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM), including vehicles with electronic warheads (RES) and manpower in personal armor protection; air defense and missile defense facilities (AD, BMD), electronic reconnaissance and electronic warfare (air defense air defense radars, counter-battery radars, ground moving target reconnaissance radars), rear support facilities, launch sites for enemy UAV systems, enemy aircraft (helicopters) outside shelters at base airfields (sites).
The KUB-SM complex ensures the combat use of super-maneuverable guided munitions at any time of the day, in simple and difficult meteorological conditions, with wind gusts of up to 15 m/s.
This is one of the main areas. Batch launch of swarm-type UAVs.Next, it is necessary to refine the systems for exchanging information within the swarm and introducing effective machine vision for automatic target destruction.
The concept itself is already actively developing, especially among the Chinese.
