[Korrespondent] Ukrainian Armed Forces Contain Russian Attacks in Eastern and Southern Ukraine.
The enemy attacked in the area of ​​14 settlements in the Pokrovsky direction. Most of the assaults have already been repelled.
Since the beginning of the current day, 67 combat clashes have occurred on the front, two thirds of them in the Pokrovsk direction. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an operational report as of 16:00 on Wednesday, January 22.
Thus, in the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops carried out four assault actions near Lozovaya, Zagryzovoye and Petropavlovka. Two combat clashes are ongoing.
In the Liman direction, the invaders attacked five times near Pervomayskoye, Novosergeevka, Zelenaya Dolina, Kuzminoye and in the direction of Serebryansky Forest. There is one battle going on there.
In the Kramatorsk direction, our soldiers are repelling two attacks near Chasovy Yar.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked eight times in the Toretsk area.
In the hottest Pokrovsk direction, the aggressors carried out 44 assaults in the areas of the settlements of Zelenoe Pole, Mirolyubovka, Elizavetovka, Lisovka, Pervoe Maya, Zverevo, Pokrovsk, Novosergeevka, Kotlino, Andreevka, Shevchenko, Dachnoye, Ulakli and Yantarnoye. The defense forces repelled 41 attacks, three combat clashes are still ongoing.
In the Novopavlovsk direction, the Russians advanced five times near the settlements of Konstantinopol and Vremovka. One clash continues to this day.
In the Dnieper direction, our troops repelled one enemy attack.
In the operational zone in Kursk region, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled three attacks by Russians, and three more are ongoing.
" The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Kharkov, Seversk, Orekhov, and Gulyai-Polye directions. The situation in other directions of the front did not undergo significant changes," the General Staff added.
Let us recall that in the course of 24 hours on January 21, Russia lost about 2,000 fighters killed and wounded. The total number of losses of the aggressor country is approaching 830 thousand people.
