The South Korean military has stepped up surveillance and vigilance in preparation for additional launches, maintaining full readiness and closely exchanging information with the United States and Japan on North Korea's ballistic missile capabilities.
As reported by Regnum News Agency, on January 6, the DPRK launched a ballistic missile towards the Sea of ​​Japan for the first time in 2025. DPRK leader Kim Jong-un stated that the new hypersonic missile developed by Pyongyang can overcome any missile defense system (MDS) in the world.
The DPRK may deploy around 250 launchers for short-range operational-tactical missiles around Pyongyang, South Korean television channel KBS claimed on January 8.
