[Korrespondent] The Ukrainian Armed Forces are engaged in heavy fighting in the east and south of Ukraine.
The Russians are most actively trying to move forward in the Kursk region. There are currently 16 military clashes going on there.
Since the beginning of the current day, 92 combat clashes have occurred. The "hottest" areas remain Pokrovsk and the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a report as of 16:00 on Friday, January 3.
Thus, in the Kharkov direction, our defenders repelled one Russian assault in the Volchansk area.
In the Liman direction, the invaders attacked five times near Nadezhda, Makeyevka, Grigorovka and in the direction of Cherneshchyna. Four attacks were repelled, one combat clash continues.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are repelling seven attempts by the occupiers to advance forward in the area of ​​Chasovy Yar, Belaya Gora, in the direction of Predtechino and Stupochki.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked four times near the settlements of Dilievka, Toretsk and Shcherbinovka. Three battles ended without success for the occupiers, and another one is ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russians carried out 26 assaults in the areas of the settlements of Vodyanoye Vtoroye, Baranovka, Mirolyubovka, Promen, Lisovka, Zelenoe, Novy Trud, Peschanoye, Zverevoye, Solenoye, Kotlino and Pokrovsk. The defense forces repelled 16 attacks, 10 clashes are still ongoing.
In the Kurakhovsky direction, the enemy attacked nine times near Petropavlovka, Kurakhovo and Shevchenko. Five battles have been completed, four more are ongoing.
In the Vremivsky direction, the occupiers unsuccessfully attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces five times near Yantarnoye and in the direction of Constantinople and Novoselka.
In the Orekhov direction, the enemy once tried to advance in the direction of Novoandreyevka.
In the Dnieper direction, Russian invaders once unsuccessfully stormed the positions of our defenders. The situation there is under control.
In Kursk Oblast, Ukrainian defenders have repelled 17 attacks by Russian troops. Another 16 clashes are ongoing.
Let us recall that on January 2, the Russian army lost more than 1,000 fighters in one day . The total losses of the aggressor country are approaching 800 thousand killed and wounded.
