[Regnum] Temperatures are expected to exceed the norm in most of Russia, with negative deviations from the norm expected only in the Asian part of the Russian Federation. This was reported on December 27 by Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center.

Vilfand added that the European part of Russia is expected to see normal or above-average air temperatures. In addition, according to the specialist, the rest of the Asian part of the country is likely to see abnormally low temperatures against the backdrop of an anticyclone.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on December 25, Vilfand said that on New Year's Eve, the temperature in the Moscow region will be between zero and minus five degrees, with light snow possible. The expert specified that on January 2 and 3, in the Moscow region, the temperature will vary from minus two to minus seven degrees at night, and from zero to minus five degrees during the day. In the capital, the temperature can reach a maximum of minus five degrees at night, and up to minus three during the day.
Before this, the Hydrometeorological Center reported that warm weather with air temperatures above the climatic norm will continue in Moscow and the Moscow region until the end of 2024. It was noted that there is a "mystery" in the weather expected on December 31, but the New Year will not be cold.
