[Korrespondent] Russian military once again shoots captured Ukrainian defenders
The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights will appeal to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Russian soldiers shot five Ukrainian soldiers who surrendered. This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets on Telegram on Sunday, December 22.
"The 110th separate separate brigade named after General-Khorunzhy Mark Bezruchko has distributed a video of yet another crime committed by Russians - the shooting of soldiers who had surrendered. The video shows how Russian soldiers shot five captured Ukrainian defenders," the ombudsman wrote.
Lubinets said he would appeal to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
"Russian war criminals who shoot Ukrainian prisoners of war must appear before an international tribunal and suffer the most severe punishment provided by law!" he emphasized.
Recall that in November it was reported that law enforcement officers were investigating 49 criminal cases on the facts of the murder of 124 prisoners of war on the battlefield. But after that, new facts of the shooting of Ukrainian fighters were discovered.
Last week, the ombudsman said that the occupiers had executed at least 109 Ukrainian prisoners of war since the beginning of 2024.
