[Regnum] Russian satellites took a photo of the snow cyclone that covered Moscow on December 7. The photograph was published by the state corporation Roscosmos.
The image, taken by the Elektro-L and Arktika-M satellites, shows the moment a cyclone passes over the central region of Russia.
"Roscosmos satellites are monitoring a cyclone over Moscow. According to forecasters, the snow cover in the capital will grow to 9 cm," the report says.
As previously reported by the Regnum news agency, earlier that day, Moscow's housing and utilities services were put on high alert due to snowfall. Deputy Moscow Mayor Pyotr Biryukov reported that emergency crews are on duty around the clock, and rotary and other equipment, small-scale mechanization equipment, and teams of street cleaners are being used to clear the snow.
In addition, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand said that in the capital during the day the thermometers will drop to -1…-3 degrees, and in the region - to -6 degrees and noticeable snow will fall. The same temperature is predicted for the night of December 8.
